in_o and_o dwell_v upon_o that_o i_o shall_v never_o have_v either_o leisure_n or_o pleasure_n to_o trouble_v either_o press_n or_o pulpit_n with_o any_o thing_n without_o the_o very_a bond_n and_o strict_a limit_n hereof_o for_o alas_o every_o where_n yea_o even_o where_o most_o pain_n have_v be_v take_v and_o yet_o be_v by_o catechise_v of_o &_o conference_n with_o the_o people_n yea_o by_o view_n of_o their_o life_n there_o be_v either_o such_o gross_a ignorance_n hereof_o or_o err_v or_o halt_v herein_o to_o be_v find_v &_o see_v among_o they_o that_o if_o all_o the_o minister_n of_o england_n have_v the_o tongue_n both_o of_o man_n and_o angel_n they_o shall_v find_v work_n enough_o through_o to_o employ_v themselves_o in_o only_o about_o the_o reformation_n hereof_o i_o will_v when_o the_o one_o be_v only_o name_v to_o understand_v the_o other_o also_o now_o for_o as_o much_o as_o the_o meat_n and_o drink_v talk_v of_o in_o any_o of_o these_o place_n to_o satisfy_v the_o hungry_a and_o thirsty_a be_v neither_o earthly_a nor_o such_o as_o we_o use_v to_o take_v in_o by_o the_o mouth_n and_o other_o instrument_n of_o the_o body_n but_o altogether_o heavenly_a and_o such_o as_o must_v be_v eat_v &_o drunken_a by_o the_o mouth_n of_o our_o soul_n therefore_o we_o may_v be_v sure_a that_o herein_o there_o be_v a_o metaphor_n use_v and_o that_o in_o this_o phrase_n and_o speech_n by_o a_o similitude_n betwixt_o the_o hunger_n and_o thirst_n of_o the_o body_n and_o the_o affection_n of_o the_o soul_n by_o those_o term_n the_o lord_n mean_v the_o like_a passion_n and_o affection_n of_o the_o soul_n afore_o towards_o the_o mere_a and_o drink_v prepare_v therefore_o as_o be_v find_v in_o the_o body_n after_o meat_n and_o drink_v meeâ—e_a and_o fit_a for_o it_o thirst_n what_o it_o be_v to_o thirst_n see_v then_o that_o the_o ground_n and_o foundation_n of_o such_o metaphor_n be_v always_o the_o analogy_n and_o resemblance_n betwixt_o the_o metaphorical_a word_n and_o the_o thing_n for_o the_o express_v whereof_o they_o be_v use_v we_o shall_v the_o better_o understande_v what_o be_v mean_v hereby_o by_o the_o hunger_n and_o thirst_n of_o the_o soul_n if_o we_o do_v but_o consider_v that_o bodily_a hunger_n be_v a_o earnest_a longing_n after_o meat_n for_o the_o body_n proceed_v from_o a_o sensible_a feel_n of_o emptiness_n and_o want_n thereof_o and_o that_o bodily_a thirst_n be_v a_o earnest_a longing_n after_o moisture_n to_o remove_v the_o heat_n and_o dryness_n that_o for_o lack_v thereof_o trouble_v the_o body_n for_o what_o be_v this_o spiritual_a hunger_n and_o thirst_n else_o but_o a_o earnest_a longing_n for_o salvation_n only_o in_o christ_n jesus_n proceed_v from_o a_o effectual_a feel_n of_o nothing_o but_o damnation_n to_o be_v due_a unto_o we_o in_o respect_n of_o ourselves_o and_o therefore_o the_o soul_n that_o be_v inwardlie_o torment_v vex_a trouble_a and_o disquiet_v with_o a_o due_a sight_n and_o feel_n of_o the_o own_o emptiness_n to_o justify_v or_o save_v itself_o yea_o that_o natural_o find_v itself_o promise_v with_o nothing_o else_o but_o with_o the_o scorch_a heat_n of_o sin_n and_o drought_n of_o all_o goodness_n doubtless_o will_v so_o hunger_n and_o thirst_n that_o be_v so_o earnest_o and_o unfame_o long_a and_o desire_v to_o be_v deliver_v from_o this_o state_n and_o condition_n that_o in_o truth_n without_o all_o hypocrisy_n it_o will_v be_v ready_a to_o say_v with_o daevid_v that_o as_o the_o hart_n brare_v after_o the_o river_n of_o matter_n so_o it_o do_v after_o the_o live_a god_n psal_n 42._o verse_n 1._o &_o 2._o but_o to_o put_v it_o out_o of_o all_o doubt_n that_o here_o by_o the_o hungry_a and_o thirsty_a be_v mean_v only_o such_o compare_v here_o with_o the_o very_a like_o speech_n of_o christ_n math._n 11._o vers_fw-la 28._o where_o he_o say_v come_v unto_o i_o all_o you_o that_o be_v weary_a and_o lade_v and_o i_o will_v case_v you_o for_o even_o there_o as_o they_o that_o be_v heavy_a lade_v with_o sin_n as_o we_o be_v all_o be_v grow_v also_o to_o be_v weary_a thereof_o which_o no_o man_n may_v or_o can_v think_v himself_o to_o be_v as_o long_o as_o he_o
