overcome_v of_o desire_n and_o love_n and_o the_o particular_a act_n imply_v in_o the_o love_n of_o god_n with_o all_o the_o mind_n be_v chief_o three_o the_o first_o be_v frequent_a meditation_n and_o a_o due_a intention_n of_o the_o mind_n upon_o the_o beauty_n and_o excellency_n of_o the_o object_n this_o be_v both_o a_o act_n and_o a_o cause_n of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n with_o all_o of_o our_o affection_n by_o the_o beauty_n and_o goodness_n of_o the_o world_n these_o we_o converse_v with_o these_o we_o admire_v and_o court_v but_o as_o for_o the_o infinite_a perfection_n of_o god_n we_o believe_v they_o as_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o church_n and_o hope_v to_o enjoy_v they_o through_o the_o merit_n of_o christ_n according_a to_o the_o tradition_n of_o the_o father_n we_o resolve_v that_o god_n be_v incomprehensible_a as_o indeed_o he_o be_v and_o therefore_o we_o never_o endeavour_v to_o find_v out_o so_o much_o of_o his_o beauty_n as_o by_o a_o due_a disposition_n of_o soul_n without_o revelation_n or_o ecstasy_n we_o may_v whereas_o if_o our_o life_n be_v more_o retire_v castigate_v and_o sober_a our_o spirit_n will_v be_v pure_a our_o mind_n more_o quick_a
