compare_v with_o the_o worthy_a we_o will_v now_o come_v to_o propound_v a_o doctrine_n or_o two_o from_o the_o consideration_n of_o the_o person_n and_o the_o punishment_n and_o so_o hasten_v towards_o a_o end_n he_o that_o eat_v and_o drink_v unworthy_o note_v here_o that_o wicked_a man_n will_v be_v eat_v and_o drink_v of_o these_o holy_a mystery_n of_o the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o christ_n aswell_o as_o other_o howbeit_o not_o with_o the_o same_o fruit_n and_o effect_n as_o other_o the_o doctrine_n be_v clear_a that_o doct._n 4_o a_o man_n may_v communicate_v and_o communicate_v unworthy_o unworthy_o a_o man_n may_v communicate_v and_o yet_o unworthy_o else_o what_o mean_v the_o apostle_n here_o to_o say_v that_o he_o that_o eat_v and_o drink_v etc._n etc._n be_v it_o not_o that_o there_o be_v some_o that_o eat_v and_o drink_v unworthy_o and_o so_o draw_v down_o judgement_n upon_o their_o own_o head_n and_o as_o in_o this_o so_o in_o all_o other_o the_o duty_n of_o god_n worship_n and_o service_n as_o the_o hear_n of_o the_o worde_n prayer_n etc._n etc._n a_o man_n may_v perform_v they_o and_o yet_o not_o in_o a_o holy_a manner_n as_o god_n command_v and_o therein_o the_o same_o become_v sin_n unto_o they_o this_o appear_v by_o the_o example_n of_o cain_n who_o offer_v sacrifice_n aswell_o as_o abel_n yet_o it_o be_v so_o far_o from_o be_v please_v unto_o god_n 4._o gen._n 4._o and_o acceptable_a with_o the_o most_o high_a as_o that_o it_o add_v unto_o the_o number_n of_o cain_n sin_n and_o thus_o do_v the_o people_n of_o the_o jew_n offer_v their_o sacrifice_n in_o a_o great_a abundance_n 1._o esa_n 1._o but_o the_o lord_n tell_v they_o that_o he_o have_v no_o pleasure_n in_o they_o this_o be_v the_o case_n of_o these_o corinthian_n paul_n tell_v they_o they_o come_v together_o for_o the_o worse_o and_o notwithstanding_o they_o have_v meet_v together_o at_o the_o lord_n table_n and_o partake_v of_o this_o sacrament_n they_o have_v be_v so_o far_o from_o please_v the_o lord_n therein_o as_o that_o rather_o they_o have_v stir_v he_o up_o to_o wrath_n against_o they_o witness_v those_o heavy_a judgement_n that_o be_v inflict_v upon_o they_o for_o their_o unworthy_a receive_n but_o the_o reason_n that_o follow_v will_v further_o clear_v this_o truth_n unto_o us._n first_o because_o there_o be_v in_o the_o church_n that_o be_v not_o of_o the_o church_n secrete_n and_o close_a hypocrite_n have_v ever_o shroud_v themselves_o under_o the_o profession_n of_o the_o truth_n yet_o inasmuch_o as_o they_o join_v with_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o church_n in_o god_n service_n we_o be_v not_o only_o to_o embrace_v their_o fellowship_n but_o to_o hope_v the_o best_a of_o their_o service_n till_o the_o lord_n shall_v at_o the_o last_o discover_v they_o now_o what_o be_v that_o duty_n that_o a_o wicked_a man_n will_v not_o join_v with_o god_n servant_n in_o especial_o in_o public_a such_o as_o be_v the_o hear_n of_o the_o word_n receive_v of_o the_o sacrament_n public_a prayer_n etc._n etc._n and_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o high_o provoke_v the_o lord_n in_o the_o do_n of_o the_o same_o but_o of_o this_o before_o reason_n 2_o another_o reason_n why_o a_o man_n may_v communicate_v and_o yet_o unworthy_o be_v lay_v down_o by_o the_o apostle_n 11.6_o heb._n 11.6_o all_o man_n have_v not_o faith_n and_o therefore_o can_v receive_v this_o sacrament_n worthy_o for_o without_o faith_n it_o be_v impossible_a to_o please_v god_n in_o any_o particular_a action_n that_o we_o do_v it_o be_v faith_n that_o the_o word_n pray_v receive_v the_o sacrament_n &c_n &c_n it_o profit_v not_o they_o because_o their_o person_n be_v not_o accept_v with_o god_n they_o be_v out_o of_o god_n favour_n and_o unto_o they_o the_o word_n be_v but_o the_o favour_n of_o death_n unto_o death_n use_v 1_o see_v then_o that_o a_o man_n may_v communicate_v and_o communicate_v unworthy_o how_o do_v this_o discover_v the_o folly_n of_o they_o that_o stand_v upon_o the_o work_n do_v and_o never_o look_v after_o the_o manner_n of_o do_v the_o same_o oh_o it_o be_v the_o case_n of_o many_o thousand_o in_o the_o world_n that_o think_v they_o have_v high_o honour_v god_n if_o upon_o the_o sabbath_n day_n they_o have_v present_v their_o body_n before_o the_o lord_n in_o his_o house_n and_o there_o have_v hear_v the_o word_n and_o perhaps_o for_o company_n sake_n have_v receive_v the_o sacrament_n with_o the_o rest_n but_o as_o for_o the_o manner_n of_o perform_v this_o duty_n they_o never_o look_v after_o but_o hand_n over_o head_n rush_v upon_o they_o and_o rest_v satisfy_v with_o the_o do_v of_o they_o poor_a soul_n how_o do_v such_o deceive_v themselves_o at_o the_o last_o day_n i_o doubt_v not_o there_o shall_v be_v as_o many_o condemn_v for_o the_o ill_a do_v of_o good_a action_n as_o for_o the_o do_v of_o those_o thing_n as_o be_v simple_o evil_a as_o many_o condemn_v for_o ill_a hear_n note_n note_n as_o not_o hear_v for_o bad_a pray_v as_o for_o not_o pray_v and_o for_o unworthy_a communicate_v as_o not_o communicate_v for_o unconscionable_a preach_n as_o for_o seldom_o preach_v it_o shall_v not_o avail_v any_o to_o say_v these_o and_o these_o thing_n have_v i_o do_v when_o man_n have_v not_o regard_v how_o they_o have_v do_v they_o neither_o will_v i_o be_v so_o understand_v as_o faithful_o with_o man_n soul_n to_o rip_v up_o man_n conscience_n to_o smite_v home_o to_o press_v they_o with_o their_o sin_n and_o to_o say_v with_o nathan_n thou_o be_v the_o man_n for_o indeed_o such_o be_v the_o deceiptfulnesse_n of_o man_n nature_n that_o unless_o man_n be_v plain_o and_o faithful_o deal_v withal_o we_o may_v see_v that_o self-love_n will_v make_v man_n put_v off_o the_o most_o wholesome_a instruction_n unto_o other_o as_o if_o they_o do_v no_o whit_n concern_v themselves_o this_o be_v a_o good_a lesson_n for_o such_o and_o such_o a_o man_n i_o will_v they_o have_v but_o we_o shall_v then_o find_v the_o fruit_n of_o the_o same_o much_o peace_n in_o our_o own_o soul_n in_o the_o conscionable_a discharge_n of_o our_o duty_n therein_o and_o the_o good_a of_o many_o a_o poor_a soul_n that_o be_v under_o us._n use_v 3_o hearer_n for_o instruction_n to_o hearer_n three_o &_o last_o if_o this_o be_v the_o duty_n of_o god_n minister_n to_o make_v particular_a application_n of_o his_o doctrine_n and_o to_o press_v the_o same_o up_o on_o the_o conscience_n of_o his_o hearer_n you_o that_o be_v our_o hearer_n must_v be_v thus_o content_a to_o be_v deal_v withal_o and_o not_o to_o storm_v against_o the_o minister_n nor_o to_o kick_v against_o the_o word_n for_o this_o know_v that_o if_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v not_o as_o a_o edge_a sword_n to_z punishment_n send_v of_o god_n be_v for_o this_o sin_n of_o they_o their_o unworthy_a receive_n of_o this_o sacrament_n answ_n i_o answer_v first_o he_o be_v teach_v and_o instruct_v by_o god_n spirit_n what_o to_o say_v and_o therefore_o may_v bold_o say_v it_o but_o beside_o paul_n know_v that_o god_n have_v threaten_v thus_o to_o plague_v his_o people_n for_o this_o sin_n as_o he_o
