Which is his body the fulnesse of him that filleth all in all Amen The Soules comfort AS by the sacred Fountaine I did passe The streames sent forth such pleasant melody That with deep sighs my soule cryd out Alas Why should I wander from this harmony The sound wherof guides to eternall blisse Diuerting from those pathes which leade amisse The warbling notes resounded still and said Oft hast thou fallen by thine iniquitie Yet lift thy heart to heauen be not afraid Repentance is a constant remedie Then search and try thy wayes returne and know Thy scarlet deeds shall be as white as snow If thou confesse thou hast peruerted right Yet no aduantage hast thereby obtay'nd Thy soule shall liue thy life shal see the light Thy sinnes seeme wooll which were with crimson stayn'd A light is come and darkenesse vanished Beleeue in him alone that promised Afflicted widowes and the fatherlesse To visit is a worke of charitie The poore to helpe and such as in distresse Want comfort to relieue their miserie Yet pleade not merit in thy lost account Trust to that mercy which doth al surmoūt Still dost thou violate the sacred lawes And iustly heapest wrath vpon thine head Yet hast an aduo ate to pleade thy cause Who onely hath the power to interceade He euer liues at the tribun●ll seate Mercy for our offences to intreate When neither siluer gold nor earthly price Could vs redeem and purge our hainous sin He shed his bloud his life did sacrifice That for vs which were lost he heauen might winne He lou'd vs though his statutes we forgot And suffered for our sinnes yet had no spot He craues no meed for all that he hath done But with our hearts to feare to serue to loue him His glory is from death he hath vs wonne That we may know there is no power aboue him Then let vs striue to walke in all his wayes And in all things to giue his name the praise And euer listen to those heauenly streames Which yeild such musick for the souls delight Abandoning all mens deceitfull dreames Who through their pride obscure the clearest light Close by this fountaine I resolue to dwell Whose warbles doe all humane art excell FINIS Errata Page 6.
