they_o hold_v in_o the_o negative_a so_o that_o since_o this_o expression_n of_o a_o real_a presence_n of_o christ_n body_n be_v not_o maintain_v by_o our_o first_o protestant_a reformer_n nor_o use_v by_o the_o church_n of_o england_n in_o her_o article_n i_o do_v not_o see_v of_o what_o use_v it_o can_v be_v now_o though_o perhaps_o only_o mean_v in_o a_o spiritual_a sense_n by_o most_o that_o presbyter_n that_o be_v to_o say_v receive_v the_o holy_a ghost_n who_o sin_n you_o forgive_v they_o be_v forgive_v and_o who_o sin_n you_o retain_v they_o be_v retain_v which_o be_v a_o gross_a profanation_n of_o the_o word_n of_o our_o lord_n and_o saviour_n and_o a_o mere_a mockery_n of_o the_o priest_n if_o no_o such_o power_n be_v give_v unto_o he_o as_o be_v there_o affirm_v the_o second_o argument_n be_v take_v from_o one_o of_o the_o exhortation_n before_o the_o communion_n where_o we_o find_v the_o people_n be_v exhort_v by_o the_o priest_n that_o if_o they_o can_v quiet_v upon_o do_v pretend_v to_o give_v any_o large_a power_n to_o the_o priest_n or_o minister_n than_o this_o amount_n to_o as_o for_o the_o first_o head_n i_o have_v lay_v down_o i_o shall_v prove_v it_o from_o the_o lord_n primat_n own_o word_n in_o the_o same_o treatise_n before_o cite_v by_o the_o doctor_n who_o agree_v with_o the_o lord_n primate_n that_o the_o supreme_a power_n of_o forgive_a sin_n be_v in_o god_n alone_o next_o that_o the_o power_n give_v to_o the_o priest_n be_v but_o a_o delegated_a power_n from_o god_n himself_o now_o that_o the_o lord_n primate_n own_v the_o priest_n and_o declare_v pardon_n to_o a_o company_n of_o rebel_n who_o have_v already_o submit_v themselves_o and_o promise_a obedience_n to_o their_o prince_n which_o pardon_v as_o it_o signify_v nothing_o if_o they_o still_o continue_v in_o their_o rebellion_n so_o though_o the_o herald_n alone_o have_v the_o power_n of_o declare_v this_o pardon_n yet_o it_o be_v only_o in_o the_o name_n and_o by_o
