if_o so_o then_o ought_v we_o to_o humble_v ourselves_o before_o god_n with_o sorrow_n for_o this_o our_o negligence_n if_o we_o can_v see_v this_o in_o we_o but_o that_o we_o come_v well_o prepare_v to_o it_o matt._n 26.27_o yea_o that_o we_o have_v not_o the_o life_n of_o a_o christian_a in_o we_o for_o whosoever_o eat_v not_o the_o flesh_n of_o the_o son_n of_o man_n and_o drink_v his_o blood_n lord_n table_n if_o we_o say_v that_o we_o be_v then_o exercise_v in_o other_o good_a duty_n as_o read_v the_o word_n of_o god_n or_o such_o like_a we_o must_v know_v that_o such_o duty_n good_a in_o themselves_o be_v not_o acceptable_a to_o god_n at_o such_o time_n and_o who_o know_v see_v that_o herein_o we_o neglect_v the_o lord_n ordinance_n how_o far_o he_o will_v give_v the_o devil_n leave_v to_o tempt_v we_o and_o draw_v we_o away_o even_o from_o those_o duty_n also_o to_o wicked_a imagination_n 2._o the_o consequent_n of_o receive_v can_v but_o invite_v we_o to_o a_o constant_a performance_n of_o this_o duty_n now_o these_o consequent_n respect_v either_o god_n or_o ourselves_o that_o which_o respect_v god_n be_v our_o duty_n of_o thankfulness_n and_o praise_n which_o herein_o we_o offer_v unto_o he_o for_o his_o mercy_n which_o be_v very_o pleasant_a unto_o he_o and_o necessary_a to_o be_v perform_v of_o we_o because_o he_o be_v gracious_a and_o his_o mercy_n good_a duty_n by_o our_o fear_n of_o death_n &_o by_o our_o love_n of_o this_o world_n for_o the_o strengthen_n of_o which_o christ_n have_v leave_v unto_o we_o this_o sacrament_n as_o a_o special_a mean_n conduce_v thereunto_o for_o the_o covenant_n which_o our_o faith_n take_v hold_v of_o as_o it_o be_v contain_v in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n so_o it_o be_v seal_v unto_o we_o by_o this_o sacrament_n and_o therefore_o christ_n call_v the_o cup_n the_o cup_n of_o the_o new_a testament_n because_o it_o seal_v unto_o we_o the_o covenant_n of_o god_n in_o the_o new_a testament_n accomplish_v in_o the_o shed_n of_o christ_n blood_n now_o if_o a_o king_n shall_v in_o pity_n and_o compassion_n send_v a_o pardon_n under_o his_o seal_n unto_o a_o poor_a distress_a prisoner_n will_v we_o not_o judge_v that_o prisoner_n unworthy_a of_o the_o benefitt_a thereof_o if_o he_o shall_v either_o wilful_o refuse_v it_o or_o careless_o neglect_v it_o questionless_a we_o will_v yet_o such_o be_v our_o case_n before_o god_n who_o as_o king_n of_o king_n have_v seal_v unto_o we_o by_o this_o sacrament_n a_o full_a remission_n of_o all_o our_o sin_n if_o we_o therefore_o shall_v either_o wilful_o contemn_v or_o at_o our_o pleasure_n receive_v this_o pledge_n of_o his_o love_n what_o can_v we_o expect_v at_o god_n hand_n but_o a_o just_a removeall_n of_o this_o his_o favour_n from_o we_o sure_o if_o we_o join_v the_o consideration_n of_o our_o own_o weakness_n which_o so_o much_o need_v help_v with_o the_o meditation_n of_o god_n mercy_n who_o so_o free_o give_v it_o we_o often_o use_n may_v breed_v contempt_n or_o at_o least_o neglect_n as_o it_o often_o do_v but_o in_o spiritual_a thing_n it_o rather_o breed_v a_o great_a desire_n because_o the_o more_o we_o feel_v and_o know_v the_o goodness_n of_o they_o the_o more_o we_o seek_v after_o they_o yet_o if_o it_o so_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o by_o often_o receive_v we_o begin_v to_o undervalue_v the_o worth_n
