themselves_o from_o such_o observation_n that_o vast_a number_n though_o otherwise_o not_o wicked_a live_v in_o a_o constant_a neglect_n of_o this_o duty_n till_o they_o come_v to_o die_v and_o then_o upon_o their_o deathbed_n call_v for_o this_o sacrament_n and_o receive_v it_o they_o think_v they_o have_v fulfil_v the_o will_n of_o our_o lord_n in_o do_v this_o as_o he_o have_v command_v because_o though_o he_o have_v command_v it_o to_o be_v do_v he_o have_v no_o where_o command_v when_o or_o how_o oft_o it_o shall_v be_v do_v from_o whence_o we_o may_v certain_o conclude_v that_o this_o be_v a_o false_a consequence_n which_o man_n draw_v from_o the_o silence_n of_o the_o holy_a scripture_n in_o this_o matter_n because_o it_o be_v so_o dangerous_a and_o pernicious_a that_o in_o a_o manner_n it_o quite_o destroy_v our_o religion_n by_o take_v away_o this_o part_n of_o it_o which_o be_v the_o principal_a and_o make_v it_o unnecessary_a as_o long_o as_o a_o man_n live_v so_o he_o be_v but_o sure_a to_o receive_v when_o he_o be_v at_o the_o point_n of_o death_n of_o that_o indeed_o no_o man_n can_v be_v assure_v but_o suppose_v he_o do_v receive_v the_o communion_n at_o the_o very_a last_o gasp_n he_o be_v thus_o far_o safe_a and_o not_o guilty_a of_o the_o breach_n of_o this_o commandment_n if_o this_o consequence_n be_v true_a that_o because_o our_o saviour_n have_v no_o where_o appoint_v the_o time_n or_o say_v how_o frequent_o we_o shall_v do_v this_o in_o remembrance_n of_o he_o we_o do_v comply_v with_o his_o institution_n provide_v we_o do_v it_o sometime_o or_o other_o now_o to_o destroy_v this_o false_a notion_n from_o whence_o such_o absurdity_n flow_v i_o shall_v in_o the_o first_o place_n show_v you_o that_o the_o quite_o contrary_a natural_o and_o necessary_o follow_v from_o this_o observation_n of_o our_o saviour_n appoint_v no_o time_n for_o the_o performance_n of_o that_o which_o he_o require_v to_o be_v do_v in_o remembrance_n of_o he_o from_o whence_o man_n wicked_a heart_n draw_v this_o conclusion_n as_o i_o have_v say_v that_o it_o may_v suffice_v to_o do_v this_o now_o and_o then_o though_o never_o so_o seldom_o i._o but_o the_o true_a the_o genuine_a and_o honest_a conclusion_n which_o follow_v from_o thence_o be_v this_o that_o our_o lord_n have_v name_v not_o fix_v settle_v time_n or_o time_n for_o the_o performance_n of_o this_o holy_a action_n it_o be_v a_o argument_n that_o he_o design_v and_o appoint_v it_o as_o a_o constant_a common_a and_o ordinary_a part_n of_o the_o christian_a divine_a presence_n it_o be_v intolerable_a because_o there_o they_o meet_v upon_o no_o private_a but_o a_o public_a account_n to_o thank_v god_n for_o his_o love_n in_o christ_n and_o to_o testify_v their_o mutual_a love_n to_o each_o other_o 6._o which_o they_o be_v so_o far_o from_o do_v that_o they_o do_v the_o quite_o contrary_a for_o true_a love_n delight_v to_o keep_v other_o in_o countenance_n but_o they_o put_v such_o to_o the_o blush_n as_o be_v in_o a_o poor_a and_o mean_a condition_n and_o can_v bring_v nothing_o to_o the_o common_a table_n but_o themselves_o who_o be_v by_o the_o law_n of_o the_o feast_n and_o by_o the_o rule_n of_o charity_n to_o have_v feast_v at_o the_o charge_n of_o the_o rich_a and_o with_o as_o much_o freedom_n and_o confidence_n as_o if_o fall_v out_o one_o with_o another_o let_v we_o not_o fall_v out_o with_o our_o god_n too_o if_o these_o contention_n have_v rise_v up_o to_o heat_n and_o anger_n nay_o wrath_n and_o evil_a speak_n do_v not_o continue_v they_o by_o refrain_v holy_a communion_n but_o repent_v of_o the_o evil_a extinguish_v all_o by_o renew_v your_o fellowship_n with_o god_n and_o one_o with_o another_o it_o well_o be_v avoid_v or_o have_v a_o friend_n come_v to_o see_v we_o the_o day_n before_o the_o communion_n with_o who_o we_o can_v not_o but_o in_o civility_n spend_v a_o good_a deal_n of_o time_n these_o and_o such_o like_a i_o be_o ashamed_a to_o do_v more_o than_o mention_n they_o be_v so_o trivial_a and_o by_o no_o understanding_n christian_n can_v be_v think_v a_o reasonable_a cause_n profit_n and_o no_o less_o comfort_n and_o joy_n in_o god_n and_o that_o at_o any_o time_n when_o a_o opportunity_n present_v itself_o though_o we_o have_v no_o notice_n till_o it_o come_v of_o the_o opportunity_n suppose_v it_o be_v when_o we_o go_v to_o see_v a_o sick_a friend_n or_o neighbour_n who_o be_v desirous_a to_o receive_v the_o communion_n or_o when_o we_o come_v upon_o occasion_n into_o a_o church_n where_o we_o be_v stranger_n and_o do_v not_o know_v it_o will_v be_v there_o at_o that_o time_n administer_v i_o make_v no_o question_n it_o will_v be_v far_o more_o acceptable_a to_o our_o lord_n christ_n if_o with_o no_o other_o preparation_n than_o i_o have_v now_o mention_v we_o take_v the_o boldness_n to_o approach_v to_o his_o table_n than_o if_o out_o of_o a_o mistake_a humility_n and_o caution_n we_o turn_v our_o back_n of_o it_o and_o go_v away_o because_o we_o have_v not_o so_o much_o time_n as_o we_o desire_v to_o dispose_v ourselves_o for_o it_o for_o the_o lord_n sake_n let_v we_o root_v out_o those_o false_a notion_n whereby_o we_o be_v prejudice_v against_o our_o certain_a duty_n and_o be_v at_o the_o pain_n to_o settle_v true_a christian_a principle_n in_o our_o mind_n with_o a_o steadfast_a purpose_n to_o grow_v in_o grace_n and_o in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o our_o lord_n and_o saviour_n jesus_n christ_n and_o then_o we_o shall_v find_v no_o cause_n at_o any_o time_n to_o refuse_v holy_a communion_n with_o he_o but_o rather_o be_v stir_v up_o to_o embrace_v the_o occasion_n with_o ardent_a love_n and_o devotion_n which_o the_o more_o
