such_o â—_o lord_n indeed_o can_v light_o but_o sanctify_v he_o second_o let_v he_o be_v your_o fear_n and_o let_v he_o be_v your_o dread_n that_o be_v bestow_v upon_o he_o the_o whole_a and_o entire_a substance_n of_o that_o affection_n or_o passion_n within_o you_o call_v fear_n both_o in_o the_o ligh_o or_o low_a motion_n and_o rise_n of_o it_o and_o also_o in_o the_o weighty_a and_o high_o as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v fear_v nothing_o else_o but_o he_o little_a or_o much_o let_v he_o be_v your_o fear_n and_o let_v he_o be_v your_o dread_n that_o be_v let_v he_o be_v the_o matter_n or_o object_v not_o of_o your_o dread_n only_o or_o deep_a fear_n but_o of_o your_o fear_n simple_o of_o the_o least_o and_o light_a of_o your_o fear_n and_o this_o latter_a clause_n let_v he_o be_v your_o fear_n and_o let_v he_o be_v your_o dread_n do_v in_o part_n explain_v the_o former_a for_o this_o one_o especial_a thing_n in_o our_o sanctify_v the_o lord_n of_o host_n to_o make_v castle_n fortress_n or_o the_o like_a as_o some_o translate_v the_o word_n here_o which_o may_v be_v call_v sanctuary_n because_o they_o hold_v some_o kind_n of_o analogy_n with_o that_o which_o be_v a_o true_a sanctuary_n indeed_o that_o be_v to_o say_v god_n habitation_n or_o dwell_v place_n in_o heaven_n for_o as_o god_n have_v frame_v the_o heaven_n and_o have_v consecrate_v or_o sanctify_v they_o according_o to_o be_v a_o place_n and_o perfect_a rest_n peace_n tranquillity_n safety_n and_o security_n to_o all_o that_o come_v thither_o there_o be_v no_o evil_a that_o can_v approach_v that_o habitation_n so_o those_o place_n or_o building_n on_o earth_n that_o either_o by_o common_a consent_n of_o man_n have_v immunity_n and_o privilege_n to_o save_v and_o protect_v from_o outward_a violence_n those_o that_o be_v find_v in_o they_o except_v happy_o some_o particular_a case_n as_o all_o temple_n consecrate_v to_o divine_a worship_n whether_o of_o the_o true_a or_o false_a god_n heretofore_o have_v be_v or_o else_o have_v be_v strong_a build_v and_o purposely_o fortify_v with_o ammunition_n and_o mean_n of_o defence_n have_v be_v call_v by_o the_o name_n of_o sanctuary_n so_o that_o when_o god_n promise_v to_o be_v a_o sanctuary_n to_o those_o that_o shall_v sanctify_v he_o the_o meaning_n be_v that_o he_o will_v be_v a_o protector_n and_o defender_n of_o they_o he_o will_v take_v care_n of_o the_o thing_n of_o their_o peace_n and_o welfare_n 4._o and_o that_o be_v remarkable_a in_o the_o prophet_n expression_n that_o he_o do_v not_o say_v that_o god_n will_v provide_v or_o look_v out_o a_o sanctuary_n for_o they_o but_o that_o he_o himself_o will_v be_v a_o sanctuary_n unto_o they_o by_o which_o kind_n of_o expression_n he_o seem_v desirous_a to_o prevent_v and_o cut_v of_o all_o distraction_n and_o run_n out_o of_o mind_n and_o thought_n in_o his_o people_n all_o casting_n about_o in_o time_n of_o danger_n this_o way_n or_o that_o what_o course_n they_o shall_v take_v what_o they_o shall_v do_v for_o their_o safety_n where_o that_o sanctuary_n shall_v be_v that_o god_n will_v provide_v for_o they_o to_o save_v they_o all_o this_o labour_n and_o travail_n and_o turmoil_v of_o soul_n he_o tell_v they_o that_o he_o himself_o will_v be_v their_o sanctuary_n and_o they_o shall_v not_o need_v to_o look_v but_o unto_o he_o if_o there_o be_v any_o thing_n else_o to_o be_v do_v for_o their_o safety_n he_o will_v direct_v they_o and_o teach_v they_o what_o it_o be_v a_o like_a expression_n you_o have_v ezek._n 11._o 16._o thus_o say_v the_o lord_n although_o i_o have_v cast_v they_o a_o far_o off_o among_o the_o heathen_a and_o although_o i_o have_v scatter_v they_o among_o the_o country_n yet_o will_v i_o be_v unto_o promise_n of_o be_v a_o sanctuary_n make_v to_o such_o a_o
establish_v the_o heart_n to_o pray_v he_o never_o fail_v to_o give_v a_o gracious_a hear_n to_o the_o prayer_n otherwise_o the_o work_n of_o his_o own_o grace_n shall_v suffer_v loss_n and_o little_a offensive_a to_o a_o man_n constitution_n as_o a_o temperate_a season_n be_v or_o as_o a_o man_n that_o be_v in_o a_o strong_a hold_n fort_n or_o tower_n that_o be_v sufficient_o provide_v with_o ammunition_n man_n victual_n and_o all_o other_o provision_n necessary_a in_o such_o a_o case_n for_o defence_n be_v in_o as_o much_o safety_n though_o he_o be_v besiege_v by_o enemy_n round_o about_o as_o another_o man_n be_v that_o have_v no_o enemy_n near_o he_o so_o when_o a_o man_n have_v god_n for_o a_o refuge_n and_o sanctuary_n and_o defence_n when_o a_o man_n have_v the_o cover_n of_o his_o wing_n spread_v over_o he_o what_o arrow_n soever_o be_v fly_v or_o what_o wind_n soever_o be_v blow_v or_o what_o wave_n soever_o be_v rage_v in_o the_o world_n about_o he_o it_o be_v as_o much_o alike_o to_o he_o as_o if_o all_o be_v quiet_a about_o he_o and_o the_o voice_n of_o the_o turtle_n hear_v in_o his_o land_n as_o solomon_n speak_v he_o can_v be_v but_o safe_a and_o well_o fasting_n often_o in_o cold_a and_o nakedness_n you_o will_v think_v that_o there_o be_v a_o great_a valley_n or_o rather_o a_o vast_a gulf_n to_o be_v fill_v up_o and_o level_v behold_v paul_n be_v not_o much_o cast_v behind_o hand_n in_o the_o thing_n of_o his_o peace_n and_o comfort_n with_o all_o these_o breach_n the_o world_n make_v so_o thick_a upon_o he_o he_o be_v no_o loser_n to_o speak_v of_o by_o all_o this_o the_o reason_n be_v he_o be_v safe_a in_o his_o sanctuary_n from_o all_o fear_n yea_o and_o can_v rejoice_v in_o the_o midst_n of_o all_o his_o trouble_n and_o what_o can_v he_o have_v do_v more_o have_v he_o wash_v his_o path_n in_o butter_n as_o job_n speak_v and_o live_v in_o the_o midst_n of_o all_o the_o pleasure_n and_o contentment_n of_o the_o son_n of_o man_n as_o sorrowful_a say_v he_o 2_o cor._n 6._o 10._o and_o yet_o always_o rejoice_v as_o have_v nothing_o and_o yet_o possess_v all_o thing_n his_o trouble_n be_v but_o as_o shadow_n and_o day_n many_o relying_n many_o depending_n upon_o god_n which_o he_o will_v not_o own_o and_o to_o which_o the_o sanctuary_n here_o speak_v of_o will_v be_v deny_v these_o thing_n therefore_o i_o answer_v by_o way_n of_o concession_n 11._o but_o second_o by_o way_n of_o exception_n i_o answer_v divers_a thing_n first_o that_o howsoever_o the_o child_n and_o servant_n of_o god_n that_o be_v for_o thy_o trust_n rely_v and_o depend_v upon_o god_n for_o all_o thing_n that_o concern_v thy_o peace_n as_o it_o be_v for_o thy_o repentance_n and_o thou_o have_v as_o much_o right_n unto_o and_o
