that_o they_o may_v constant_o bear_v and_o endure_v affliction_n for_o christ_n sake_n for_o the_o which_o they_o shall_v receive_v their_o reward_n and_o their_o adversary_n also_o their_o just_a judgement_n from_o the_o lord_n this_o be_v the_o content_a of_o the_o first_o chapter_n furthermore_o because_o he_o have_v write_v unto_o they_o in_o the_o former_a epistle_n that_o the_o last_o day_n will_v come_v unaware_o and_o have_v for_o the_o same_o cause_n also_o admonish_v they_o to_o watch_v &_o not_o to_o be_v careless_a the_o thessalonian_o think_v that_o they_o shall_v live_v to_o see_v the_o last_o day_n wherefore_o in_o the_o second_o chapter_n he_o do_v confute_v that_o vain_a and_o false_a opinion_n concern_v the_o come_n of_o christ_n at_o hand_n which_o with_o most_o thereof_o may_v take_v heed_n of_o the_o pestilent_a cup_n of_o that_o babilonicall_a purple_a colour_a strumpette_fw-it in_o the_o third_o chapter_n after_o that_o he_o have_v commend_v himself_o unto_o their_o prayer_n &_o have_v brief_o encourage_v they_o to_o constancy_n he_o command_v that_o those_o man_n be_v severe_o punish_v which_o through_o idleness_n and_o curiosity_n trouble_v the_o common_a wealth_n who_o he_o will_v have_v to_o be_v excommunicate_v if_o so_o be_v they_o will_v not_o be_v admonish_v and_o warn_v final_o he_o finish_v his_o epistle_n by_o recommend_v they_o to_o the_o lord_n of_o peace_n the_o which_o epistle_n although_o it_o be_v brief_a yet_o a_o contain_v wonderful_a profit_n and_o learning_n in_o style_v it_o be_v nothing_o different_a from_o the_o former_a epistle_n neither_o in_o any_o thing_n inferior_a that_o it_o be_v send_v from_o rome_n as_o common_o the_o greek_a book_n report_n it_o be_v not_o like_a for_o have_v it_o be_v so_o he_o will_v have_v make_v some_o mention_n
in_o this_o world_n do_v oppress_v the_o good_a and_o godly_a and_o do_v make_v they_o live_v in_o exile_n and_o banishment_n by_o persecution_n shall_v suffer_v the_o same_o thing_n themselves_o in_o time_n to_o come_v which_o they_o do_v to_o other_o and_o that_o they_o shall_v be_v in_o rest_n with_o other_o saint_n who_o come_v out_o of_o great_a tribulation_n shall_v receive_v a_o eternal_a kingdom_n thus_o the_o apostle_n touch_v the_o vengeance_n of_o god_n against_o the_o reprobate_a to_o teach_v they_o that_o the_o faithful_a do_v rest_n in_o the_o expectation_n of_o the_o judgement_n to_o come_v because_o god_n do_v not_o as_o yet_o take_v vengeance_n on_o the_o evil_a who_o notwithstanding_o must_v needs_o suffer_v the_o punishment_n of_o their_o wickedness_n withal_o notwithstanding_o the_o faithful_a do_v understand_v that_o there_o be_v no_o cause_n why_o they_o shall_v envy_v the_o momentany_a and_o transitory_a felicity_n of_o the_o wicked_a which_o soon_o show_v himself_o from_o heaven_n with_o his_o mighty_a angel_n as_o it_o be_v agree_v with_o the_o justice_n of_o god_n to_o repay_v unto_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a man_n condign_a punishment_n so_o also_o it_o be_v agree_v with_o the_o same_o justice_n to_o give_v unto_o godly_a and_o righteous_a man_n the_o rest_n and_o consolation_n of_o eternal_a life_n great_a therefore_o shall_v be_v the_o misery_n and_o unhappiness_n of_o all_o the_o wicked_a and_o most_o excellent_a shall_v be_v the_o felicity_n and_o blessedness_n of_o the_o godly_a the_o apostle_n have_v oppose_v rest_n against_o
