mediator_n there_o must_v be_v party_n at_o variance_n that_o be_v two_o by_o their_o difference_n and_o disagreement_n and_o not_o one_o this_o then_o show_v first_o for_o what_o reason_n the_o law_n be_v promulgate_v namely_o to_o convince_v man_n of_o their_o offence_n which_o have_v separate_v between_o they_o and_o god_n who_o be_v at_o the_o first_o one_o in_o peace_n and_o mutual_a affection_n towards_o each_o other_o second_o the_o word_n follow_v show_v why_o the_o law_n be_v publish_v in_o the_o hand_n of_o a_o mediator_n because_o god_n be_v one_o though_o the_o law_n serve_v to_o convince_v man_n thus_o of_o their_o sinful_a variance_n with_o god_n yet_o they_o shall_v not_o thereupon_o despair_v and_o sink_v under_o the_o fear_n of_o his_o wrath_n for_o as_o he_o be_v thus_o a_o mediator_n be_v not_o of_o one._n by_o one_o here_o may_v haply_o be_v understand_v not_o one_o party_n but_o one_o matter_n business_n or_o covenant_n and_o then_o the_o meaning_n run_v thus_o as_o the_o lord_n have_v publish_v two_o covenant_n a_o promise_n to_o abraham_n and_o a_o law_n to_o israel_n so_o he_o have_v appoint_v two_o mediator_n of_o those_o covenant_n or_o business_n which_o he_o have_v to_o communicate_v to_o man_n moses_n the_o mediator_n of_o the_o law_n for_o the_o law_n come_v by_o moses_n and_o christ_n the_o mediator_n of_o the_o promise_n or_o better_a covenant_n for_o grace_n come_v by_o jesus_n christ_n moses_n the_o representative_a and_o christ_n the_o substantial_a and_o real_a mediator_n but_o now_o though_o there_o be_v two_o covenant_n and_o two_o mediator_n and_o they_o so_o much_o in_o appearance_n contrary_a unto_o one_o another_o as_o that_o god_n may_v in_o they_o seem_v inconstant_a and_o to_o have_v by_o one_o cancel_v and_o repent_v for_o the_o other_o yet_o all_o this_o while_n god_n be_v one_o that_o be_v he_o be_v the_o same_o in_o both_o covenant_n carry_v the_o same_o purpose_n and_o intention_n both_o in_o the_o law_n and_o in_o the_o gospel_n namely_o a_o benevolence_n and_o desire_n of_o reconcilement_n with_o man_n vers._n 21._o be_v the_o law_n then_o against_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n god_n forbid_v for_o if_o there_o have_v be_v a_o law_n give_v which_o can_v have_v give_v life_n very_o righteousness_n shall_v have_v be_v by_o the_o law_n here_o we_o have_v a_o objection_n of_o the_o jew_n if_o god_n be_v one_o than_o he_o do_v not_o speak_v one_o thing_n and_o mean_v another_o pronounce_v the_o law_n in_o some_o word_n and_o require_v they_o to_o be_v otherwise_o understand_v and_o then_o it_o will_v follow_v that_o the_o law_n be_v against_o the_o promise_n for_o in_o the_o common_a construct_v on_o and_o sense_n of_o the_o word_n it_o be_v manifest_o contrary_a this_o objection_n the_o apostle_n do_v retort_v upon_o they_o in_o as_o much_o as_o the_o law_n will_v be_v against_o the_o promise_n if_o it_o shall_v stand_v for_o a_o rule_n of_o justification_n by_o itself_o and_o not_o for_o a_o manuduction_n unto_o christ_n therefore_o god_n be_v one_o and_o the_o same_o constant_a in_o his_o promise_n for_o righteousness_n which_o he_o make_v to_o abraham_n therefore_o they_o be_v in_o a_o manifest_a error_n who_o seek_v for_o righteousness_n from_o the_o law_n because_o that_o will_v evident_o infer_v one_o of_o these_o two_o
