that_o you_o more_o approve_v of_o such_o as_o serve_v that_o man_n of_o sin_n in_o seduce_v you_o by_o tradition_n then_o of_o such_o as_o serve_v the_o lord_n in_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o gospel_n the_o apostle_n you_o know_v make_v mention_n of_o some_o bad_a one_o it_o be_v easy_a to_o guess_v who_o at_o this_o day_n do_v most_o resemble_v they_o 3.6_o 2_o tim_n 3.6_o which_o creep_v into_o house_n and_o lead_v captive_a simple_a woman_n lade_v with_o sin_n and_o lead_v with_o diverse_a lust_n etc._n etc._n and_o our_o saviour_n likewise_o make_v mention_n of_o such_o as_o compass_v sea_n and_o land_n to_o make_v one_o of_o their_o profession_n 23.15_o mat._n 23.15_o and_o when_o he_o be_v make_v they_o make_v he_o twofold_a more_o the_o child_n of_o hell_n than_o they_o themselves_o be_v i_o fear_v lest_o some_o of_o they_o have_v beguile_v some_o of_o you_o and_o seduce_v your_o foolish_a heart_n that_o you_o shall_v not_o hearken_v and_o obey_v the_o holy_a word_n some_o when_o the_o preacher_n begin_v make_v a_o end_n of_o their_o devotion_n and_o leave_v the_o house_n of_o god_n go_v to_o their_o own_o house_n have_v they_o any_o exception_n against_o we_o do_v we_o teach_v for_o doctrine_n man_n precept_n do_v we_o handle_v the_o word_n deceitful_o do_v we_o keep_v back_o any_o of_o god_n counsel_n nay_o in_o all_o these_o thing_n as_o in_o the_o whole_a work_n of_o our_o ministry_n we_o study_v to_o approve_v ourselves_o both_o before_o the_o lord_n and_o before_o man_n a_o exception_n they_o have_v but_o almost_o they_o know_v not_o what_o the_o truth_n be_v they_o be_v not_o able_a to_o try_v the_o spirit_n whether_o they_o be_v of_o god_n and_o therefore_o they_o approve_v they_o which_o prophecy_n lie_v unto_o they_o out_o of_o their_o own_o brain_n but_o you_o belove_v learn_v to_o know_v and_o approve_v he_o who_o give_v plain_a proof_n that_o he_o serve_v the_o lord_n in_o the_o gospel_n in_o the_o sincere_a and_o faithful_a preach_v thereof_o yea_o but_o you_o will_v say_v unto_o i_o we_o will_v glad_o approve_v they_o that_o serve_v the_o lord_n in_o the_o gospel_n but_o how_o shall_v we_o know_v who_o serve_v the_o lord_n in_o the_o gospel_n for_o they_o that_o be_v whole_o devote_a unto_o the_o service_n of_o that_o man_n of_o sin_n and_o prophecy_n lie_v out_o of_o their_o own_o brain_n will_v say_v that_o they_o serve_v the_o lord_n in_o the_o gospel_n aswell_o as_o they_o will_v which_o sincere_o preach_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n jesus_n unto_o the_o confusion_n of_o that_o man_n of_o in_o christ_n jesus_n be_v not_o only_o to_o repose_v our_o whole_a trust_n and_o confidence_n in_o he_o as_o in_o the_o horn_n of_o our_o salvation_n to_o make_v our_o boast_n of_o he_o and_o to_o of_o the_o circumcision_n of_o the_o flesh_n but_o of_o his_o tribe_n of_o his_o stock_n of_o his_o religion_n of_o his_o zeal_n yea_o and_o lest_o he_o shall_v seem_v to_o leave_v out_o any_o thing_n without_o christ_n wherein_o he_o have_v any_o confidence_n he_o speak_v express_o of_o all_o thing_n without_o christ_n that_o for_o christ_n he_o count_v all_o thing_n loss_n so_o that_o the_o conclusion_n though_o most_o hard_o will_v not_o be_v avoid_v but_o that_o they_o that_o trust_v to_o be_v save_v by_o their_o merit_n be_v not_o circumcise_v with_o the_o true_a and_o spiritual_a circumcision_n but_o be_v as_o yet_o stranger_n from_o the_o covenant_n of_o promise_n and_o have_v no_o inheritance_n among_o the_o son_n of_o god_n let_v we_o therefore_o man_n and_o brethren_n renounce_v all_o confidence_n in_o any_o thing_n without_o christ_n whatsoever_o and_o let_v we_o trust_v only_o in_o the_o merit_n of_o christ_n jesus_n he_o alone_o be_v make_v of_o god_n unto_o philippi_n but_o now_o it_o seem_v they_o be_v at_o odds_n whether_o the_o one_o with_o the_o other_o or_o both_o with_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o church_n and_o whether_o about_o matter_n of_o faith_n and_o religion_n or_o about_o ordinary_a matter_n of_o common_a life_n it_o be_v not_o certain_a this_o we_o see_v the_o apostle_n will_v glad_o compose_v the_o strife_n and_o therefore_o he_o exhort_v they_o to_o be_v of_o one_o accord_n in_o the_o lord_n that_o be_v of_o one_o mind_n and_o one_o judgement_n in_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o lord_n betwixt_o themselves_o and_o with_o the_o appear_v that_o we_o be_v not_o always_o to_o rejoice_v not_o so_o neither_o for_o even_o then_o when_o we_o sigh_v and_o mourn_v for_o the_o affliction_n we_o have_v in_o the_o world_n we_o be_v to_o rejoice_v in_o the_o lord_n and_o to_o be_v of_o good_a comfort_n in_o christ_n jesus_n because_o he_o have_v overcome_v the_o world_n even_o then_o when_o we_o mourn_v through_o a_o sense_n of_o god_n judgement_n we_o be_v to_o rejoice_v in_o his_o tender_a mercy_n that_o he_o deal_v not_o with_o we_o after_o our_o deserve_n even_o then_o when_o we_o mourn_v in_o the_o body_n because_o of_o affliction_n we_o be_v to_o rejoice_v in_o our_o soul_n because_o of_o our_o strong_a consolation_n in_o christ_n jesus_n and_o because_o our_o light_a affliction_n in_o the_o body_n cause_v unto_o we_o a_o far_o most_o excellent_a and_o a_o eternal_a weight_n of_o glory_n and_o therefore_o our_o saviour_n in_o the_o same_o place_n where_o he_o say_v bless_a be_v they_o that_o mourn_v exhort_v righteous_a three_o such_o as_o have_v experience_n both_o of_o plenty_n and_o of_o want_n let_v they_o hence_o learn_v not_o to_o stoop_v at_o the_o one_o or_o stumble_v at_o the_o other_o let_v can_v be_v abase_v and_o likewise_o i_o can_v abound_v etc._n etc._n i_o observe_v a_o notable_a pattern_n of_o great_a perfection_n in_o a_o christian_a for_o than_o we_o grow_v to_o a_o notable_a perfection_n when_o we_o can_v both_o be_v abase_v and_o abound_v be_v full_a and_o hungry_a etc._n etc._n and_o still_o be_v content_a with_o the_o one_o or_o the_o other_o without_o murmur_v or_o grudge_v the_o philosopher_n and_o heathen_a writer_n have_v talk_v much_o of_o bear_v both_o adversity_n and_o prosperity_n patient_o and_o have_v set_v down_o good_a precept_n for_o walk_v constant_o in_o they_o both_o without_o droop_a in_o adversity_n or_o swell_v in_o prosperity_n but_o let_v any_o man_n tell_v i_o of_o the_o best_a of_o they_o that_o keep_v that_o constant_a course_n in_o both_o not_o daunt_v with_o the_o one_o nor_o puff_v up_o with_o the_o other_o nay_o in_o this_o degree_n of_o perfection_n none_o of_o they_o can_v but_o our_o apostle_n must_v be_v have_v want_n it_o may_v be_v we_o can_v abound_v but_o we_o can_v be_v abase_v it_o may_v be_v we_o can_v be_v full_a but_o we_o can_v be_v hungry_a it_o may_v be_v we_o can_v away_o with_o plenty_n but_o not_o with_o want_n this_o prick_v and_o pinch_v and_o be_v as_o bitter_a unto_o we_o as_o death_n but_o have_v we_o learn_v to_o abound_v and_o to_o be_v full_a nay_o we_o know_v not_o when_o we_o abound_v or_o when_o we_o be_v full_a and_o beside_o that_o abundance_n and_o fullness_n make_v we_o wanton_a and_o proud_a and_o forgetful_a of_o such_o christian_a duty_n as_o we_o ought_v to_o perform_v as_o may_v easy_o have_v be_v prove_v if_o time_n have_v give_v leave_n long_o we_o then_o in_o our_o soul_n to_o grow_v forward_o in_o a_o good_a degree_n of_o christian_a perfection_n
