confusion_n of_o his_o enemy_n and_o to_o the_o comfort_n of_o his_o servant_n concern_v the_o safety_n of_o the_o faithful_a in_o those_o heavy_a judgement_n against_o unbeliever_n first_o the_o prophet_n do_v set_v it_o down_o then_o he_o confirm_v or_o proove_v the_o same_o he_o set_v it_o down_o when_o as_o he_o say_v that_o 32._o that_o 2_o 32._o whosoever_o shall_v call_v on_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n shall_v be_v safe_a whereby_o he_o teach_v not_o only_o that_o all_o such_o shall_v be_v safe_a but_o also_o that_o to_o call_v on_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v the_o that_o deliverance_n that_o the_o lord_n before_o have_v promise_v as_o touch_v the_o other_o 32._o other_o 2_o 32._o both_o he_o note_v that_o it_o shall_v be_v those_o who_o the_o lord_n shall_v in_o such_o manner_n as_o it_o do_v itself_o both_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o thing_n itself_o for_o consider_v no_o more_o but_o only_o that_o it_o be_v a_o further_a manifestation_n of_o the_o truth_n yet_o herein_o only_o we_o may_v perceive_v it_o because_o that_o flesh_n and_o blood_n and_o the_o whole_a power_n of_o man_n may_v labour_v long_o to_o attain_v unto_o it_o and_o yet_o never_o obtain_v it_o as_o we_o in_o these_o day_n may_v plain_o behold_v first_o in_o ourselves_o than_o also_o in_o other_o for_o how_o glad_o will_v our_o godly_a forefather_n have_v see_v these_o day_n that_o we_o now_o see_v and_o yet_o they_o can_v not_o &_o how_o earnest_o do_v many_o in_o these_o day_n wish_n some_o of_o we_o any_o kind_n of_o reformation_n what_o so_o ever_o other_o again_o a_o much_o better_a than_o yet_o we_o have_v &_o such_o as_o be_v here_o describe_v unto_o we_o and_o yet_o who_o know_v not_o how_o short_a we_o be_v yet_o from_o either_o of_o both_o if_o therefore_o our_o true_a and_o hearty_a repentance_n now_o upon_o this_o occasion_n may_v procure_v we_o so_o great_a a_o blessing_n beside_o there_o be_v no_o man_n but_o see_v how_o earnest_o it_o be_v to_o be_v labour_v of_o we_o all_o both_o to_o obtain_v the_o thing_n itself_o &_o to_o save_v much_o of_o that_o unprofitable_a labour_n that_o otherwise_o we_o have_v bestow_v about_o it_o to_o little_a purpose_n &_o yet_o may_v we_o know_v not_o how_o long_o nor_o how_o unprofitable_o unless_o we_o take_v that_o course_n that_o the_o prophet_n here_o praescribe_v unto_o we_o proceed_v and_o in_o respect_n of_o that_o moner_n whereby_o it_o proceed_v but_o if_o we_o consider_v in_o what_o manner_n this_o reformation_n proceed_v that_o in_o this_o place_n the_o prophet_n do_v speak_v of_o or_o what_o kind_n of_o manifestation_n it_o be_v there_o may_v we_o much_o more_o plain_o see_v how_o much_o this_o blessing_n be_v to_o be_v wish_v not_o only_o because_o that_o it_o do_v proceed_v in_o so_o gracious_a manner_n towards_o those_o that_o receive_v it_o but_o also_o in_o respect_n of_o those_o thing_n likewise_o that_o do_v appertein_a to_o those_o that_o refuse_v it_o for_o as_o touch_v those_o that_o receve_v it_o it_o towards_o those_o that_o receive_v it_o we_o see_v it_o be_v in_o such_o sort_n bestow_v on_o they_o as_o they_o be_v make_v able_a thereby_o to_o prophecy_n &_o not_o only_o all_o the_o sort_n of_o they_o general_o but_o especial_o also_o such_o as_o no_o body_n will_v look_v for_o the_o old_a &_o the_o young_a &_o that_o which_o be_v most_o even_o the_o very_a bondslaves_n then selve_o with_o ú_n yet_o the_o elder_a sort_n be_v too_o old_a to_o learn_v &_o the_o young_a be_v over_o wanton_a and_o care_v not_o for_o it_o but_o the_o poor_a sort_n especial_o such_o as_o live_v before_o like_o man_n &_o now_o by_o their_o unmerciful_a lord_n be_v bring_v so_o low_a that_o they_o may_v rather_o be_v account_v bond_n then_o free_a be_v in_o so_o great_a and_o urgent_a distress_n in_o respect_n of_o their_o bodily_a necessity_n that_o as_o they_o have_v no_o heart_n unto_o it_o be_v so_o much_o overwhelm_v with_o their_o miserable_a estate_n as_o they_o be_v so_o have_v they_o not_o so_o much_o as_o any_o convenient_a laisure_n nor_o comfort_v neither_o to_o go_v about_o it_o will_v they_o never_o so_o fain_o it_o be_v long_o therefore_o in_o the_o course_n that_o we_o be_v before_o that_o the_o elder_n and_o young_a sort_n with_o ú_n and_o especial_o those_o that_o be_v so_o fleesed_a or_o spoil_v by_o other_o will_v be_v able_a to_o attain_v to_o the_o light_n that_o now_o be_v speak_v of_o in_o such_o measure_n as_o here_o be_v describe_v it_o be_v well_o if_o they_o understand_v in_o some_o reasonable_a manner_n such_o thing_n as_o be_v good_a and_o needful_a for_o they_o to_o know_v but_o to_o be_v able_a to_o teach_v other_o likewise_o that_o be_v a_o point_n so_o far_o beyond_o all_o likelihood_n for_o they_o to_o attain_v unto_o that_o we_o may_v rather_o wish_v it_o with_o great_a doubt_n never_o to_o see_v it_o then_o with_o hope_n expect_v it_o as_o though_o we_o may_v to_o the_o full_a obtain_v it_o but_o if_o we_o can_v true_o repent_v we_o of_o our_o former_a ill_a way_n and_o turn_v to_o the_o lord_n as_o by_o this_o aforesaid_a occasion_n we_o may_v just_o find_v ourselves_o provoke_v to_o do_v than_o will_v the_o lord_n we_o need_v not_o to_o doubt_v afford_v we_o the_o same_o measure_n of_o goodness_n that_o be_v promise_v here_o then_o shall_v we_o all_o be_v able_a to_o prophesy_v our_o old_a man_n thén_n will_v dream_v such_o dream_n our_o young_a folk_n likewise_o will_v see_v vision_n and_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n shall_v rest_v even_o on_o bond_n or_o villain_n and_o see_v that_o already_o we_o have_v in_o divers_a particular_n experience_n of_o it_o and_o that_o in_o so_o comfortable_a measure_n as_o many_o have_v even_o thát_o only_o ought_v to_o be_v sufficient_a to_o teach_v we_o that_o the_o good_a work_n that_o be_v already_o begin_v shall_v soon_o be_v perfect_v if_o ourselves_o be_v no_o hindrance_n unto_o it_o it_o and_o those_o that_o refuse_v it_o in_o those_o thing_n that_o do_v appertain_v to_o they_o that_o refuse_v it_o we_o may_v see_v that_o it_o will_v be_v a_o special_a blessing_n likewise_o partly_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o judgement_n that_o belong_v to_o the_o wicked_a and_o partly_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o safety_n of_o the_o faithful_a in_o the_o midst_n of_o all_o those_o danger_n in_o respect_n of_o the_o judgement_n that_o belong_v to_o the_o wicked_a we_o may_v perceive_v it_o if_o not_o for_o that_o it_o be_v so_o note_v by_o the_o prophet_n here_o yet_o because_o that_o
and_o fro_o on_o the_o mountain_n but_o also_o as_o a_o mighty_a people_n and_o those_o prepare_v to_o battle_n of_o the_o effect_n that_o it_o work_v that_o it_o be_v as_o fire_v consume_a stubble_n and_o such_o as_o 6._o as_o 2_o 6._o make_v that_o the_o people_n tremble_v before_o it_o and_o that_o all_o face_n be_v blank_a and_o pale_a to_o behold_v it_o then_o for_o the_o other_o that_o be_v how_o ready_o they_o put_v in_o execution_n whatsoever_o they_o have_v to_o do_v and_o first_o as_o it_o be_v set_v forth_o unto_o we_o out_o of_o the_o consideration_n of_o itself_o alone_o we_o be_v orderly_o in_o all_o their_o way_n their_o industry_n be_v declare_v in_o that_o they_o be_v say_v 7._o say_v 2_o 7._o to_o run_v like_o strong_a man_n and_o to_o climb_v up_o to_o the_o wall_n like_o warrior_n and_o not_o to_o stay_v or_o turn_v back_o in_o the_o way_n they_o have_v to_o walk_v their_o orderline_v also_o in_o that_o they_o be_v say_v 3._o say_v 2_o 3._o not_o to_o thrust_v one_o a_o other_o but_o to_o walk_v every_o one_o in_o his_o array_n that_o which_o be_v say_v of_o their_o prosperousnes_n therein_o be_v no_o more_o but_o this_o and_o yet_o a_o matter_n of_o great_a importance_n that_o though_o they_o 3._o they_o 2_o 3._o fail_v on_o the_o sword_n yet_o be_v they_o not_o wound_v therewith_o in_o what_o sort_n they_o do_v the_o thing_n itself_o when_o once_o they_o come_v to_o it_o be_v set_v down_o by_o the_o example_n of_o rifle_v a_o city_n how_o 9_o how_o 2_o 9_o they_o run_v up_o and_o down_o therein_o a_o long_a by_o the_o wale_n &_o into_o the_o house_n to_o destroy_v and_o to_o spoil_v as_o it_o be_v set_v forth_o unto_o we_o out_o of_o the_o effect_n that_o it_o work_v the_o prophet_n do_v not_o only_o note_v what_o effect_n it_o be_v that_o it_o work_v but_o also_o the_o reason_n why_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o it_o have_v so_o strong_a a_o effect_n the_o effect_n that_o it_o work_v be_v that_o man_n shall_v be_v at_o their_o wit_n end_v 10._o end_v 2_o 10._o as_o if_o the_o heaven_n &_o the_o earth_n be_v astonish_v at_o it_o &_o clean_o confound_v and_o as_o if_o the_o sun_n &_o the_o moon_n be_v darken_v &_o the_o star_n take_v in_o their_o light_n a_o gain_n in_o give_v of_o the_o reason_n here_o of_o the_o prophet_n do_v not_o only_o show_v what_o the_o reason_n be_v but_o also_o how_o mighty_o the_o same_o do_v work_v the_o reason_n itself_o that_o cause_v this_o effect_n to_o ensue_v be_v that_o 11._o that_o 2_o 11._o the_o lord_n himself_o do_v by_o his_o word_n authorise_v and_o by_o his_o power_n enable_v hereunto_o and_o it_o be_v say_v to_o work_v so_o mighty_o that_o the_o same_o day_n shall_v be_v great_a and_o very_o terrible_a and_o that_o none_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o abide_v it_o the_o same_o course_n by_o will_v they_o 11._o they_o 2_o 11._o to_o rend_v their_o heart_n and_o not_o their_o garment_n and_o to_o turn_v unto_o the_o lord_n their_o god_n the_o strength_n of_o reason_n that_o there_o he_o use_v to_o persuade_v they_o herein_o be_v upon_o the_o likelihood_n they_o have_v to_o obtain_v favour_n which_o he_o do_v first_o by_o set_v down_o very_o plain_o how_o merciful_a the_o lord_n be_v then_o by_o insinuate_a how_o themselves_o may_v become_v partaker_n of_o it_o as_o touch_v the_o mercifulnes_n of_o god_n 13._o god_n 2_o 13._o he_o plain_o say_v that_o he_o be_v gracious_a and_o merciful_a slow_a to_o anger_n of_o great_a kindness_n and_o one_o that_o will_v ready_o turn_v from_o the_o evil_a that_o he_o purpose_v how_o themselves_o may_v be_v partaker_n of_o it_o though_o he_o do_v not_o plain_o tell_v they_o yet_o both_o he_o do_v insinuate_v the_o same_o and_o put_v they_o in_o good_a hope_n of_o a_o special_a blessing_n that_o which_o demand_v 2_o 14._o who_o do_v know_v whether_o he_o will_v not_o be_v entreat_v to_o leave_v a_o blessing_n behind_o he_o the_o special_a blessing_n that_o he_o put_v they_o in_o hope_n to_o obtain_v be_v that_o after_o that_o great_a famine_n it_o may_v be_v that_o the_o lord_n will_v yet_o give_v such_o great_a plenty_n that_o they_o shall_v content_v themselves_o to_o part_n with_o a_o 14._o a_o 2_o 14._o meat-offring_a and_o drink-offring_a unto_o the_o lord_n their_o god_n repetition_n his_o latter_a repetition_n in_o his_o latter_a repetition_n wherein_o he_o seem_v to_o have_v it_o the_o former_a he_o will_v they_o again_o 15._o again_o 2_o 15._o to_o blow_v the_o trumpet_n in_o zion_n and_o to_o sanctify_v or_o publish_v a_o fast_o as_o touch_v the_o other_o he_o will_v likewise_o that_o they_o 16._o they_o 2_o 16._o gather_v the_o people_n together_o and_o assemble_v the_o congregation_n those_o few_o principal_a thing_n that_o do_v concern_v the_o manner_n of_o it_o be_v but_o two_o one_o how_o thorough_o he_o will_v have_v the_o people_n to_o be_v gather_v together_o in_o this_o exercise_n the_o other_o how_o they_o shall_v be_v exercise_v there_o he_o lightness_n and_o vanity_n by_o the_o peace_n and_o wealth_n that_o god_n have_v give_v we_o and_o for_o that_o we_o have_v taste_v so_o little_a of_o the_o rod_n as_o now_o for_o a_o good_a time_n we_o have_v do_v that_o it_o be_v less_o marvel_n if_o hardly_o we_o can_v grow_v to_o any_o such_o earnest_n and_o public_a sorrow_n or_o so_o much_o as_o like_v of_o the_o motion_n when_o it_o be_v make_v but_o in_o this_o case_n also_o it_o be_v good_a to_o remember_v that_o the_o wisdom_n of_o a_o christian_a ought_v to_o be_v such_o as_o that_o whatsoever_o be_v a_o offence_n or_o hindrance_n be_v there_o then_o that_o with_o any_o colour_n may_v stay_v we_o from_o that_o which_o the_o prophet_n do_v here_o require_v or_o if_o in_o heart_n we_o consent_v unto_o it_o why_o shall_v not_o our_o deed_n also_o bear_v witness_n or_o rather_o express_v our_o meaning_n therein_o well_o may_v our_o dalliance_n deceive_v ourselves_o but_o other_o it_o can_v especial_o god_n the_o fruit_n to_o prepare_v they_o to_o this_o public_a fast_n first_o he_o call_v upon_o all_o to_o give_v ear_n unto_o he_o then_o he_o set_v in_o hand_n with_o the_o matter_n that_o he_o have_v to_o deliver_v unto_o they_o he_o call_v on_o all_o to_o give_v ear_n unto_o he_o in_o these_o word_n 20._o word_n 1_o 20._o hear_v this_o o_o you_o elder_n and_o give_v ear_n unto_o it_o all_o you_o inhabitant_n of_o the_o land_n wherein_o we_o be_v to_o consider_v on_o who_o he_o call_v &_o what_o he_o do_v require_v of_o they_o he_o call_v on_o the_o elder_n or_o the_o chief_a or_o better_a sort_n more_o special_o then_o also_o general_o on_o all_o even_o on_o all_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o the_o land_n general_o for_o the_o elder_n or_o chief_a of_o the_o people_n be_v those_o who_o this_o matter_n chief_o concern_v and_o who_o be_v able_a best_o to_o help_v to_o gather_v the_o people_n to_o public_a repentance_n and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o all_o the_o residue_n must_v needs_o account_v it_o to_o belong_v unto_o they_o likewise_o both_o that_o they_o all_o have_v just_o deserve_v it_o and_o therefore_o that_o they_o all_o in_o like_a sort_n be_v now_o to_o humble_v themselves_o to_o the_o lord_n who_o they_o have_v offend_v and_o who_o likewise_o hereby_o do_v call_v they_o unto_o repentance_n that_o which_o he_o do_v require_v of_o they_o be_v no_o more_o yet_o but_o only_o to_o hearken_v or_o give_v ear_n to_o this_o matter_n but_o thát_o he_o do_v require_v both_o of_o the_o elder_n and_o of_o all_o the_o inhabitant_n beside_o for_o neither_o be_v elder_n nor_o the_o high_a of_o all_o exempt_v from_o this_o kind_n of_o duty_n towards_o god_n and_o his_o word_n beside_o that_o it_o concern_v likewise_o their_o peace_n and_o welfare_n so_o much_o that_o it_o be_v best_o of_o that_o nature_n as_o that_o chief_o it_o concern_v our_o elder_n also_o but_o yet_o notwithstanding_o all_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o this_o land_n likewise_o our_o elder_n it_o do_v chief_o concern_v not_o only_o because_o our_o sin_n for_o which_o this_o hand_n of_o god_n be_v upon_o we_o be_v of_o that_o nature_n that_o may_v seem_v most_o of_o all_o to_o descend_v from_o they_o and_o for_o that_o their_o estate_n likewise_o if_o they_o do_v not_o repent_v be_v like_a to_o be_v near_o to_o the_o great_a fall_n but_o also_o because_o that_o they_o can_v best_o both_o call_v in_o the_o people_n unto_o repentance_n and_o amend_v these_o fault_n that_o do_v provoke_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n against_o we_o general_o it_o concern_v all_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o this_o land_n likewise_o because_o that_o all_o one_o way_n or_o other_o have_v in_o such_o sort_n offend_v as_o that_o we_o all_o and_o every_o one_o of_o we_o have_v just_o deserve_v this_o kind_n of_o chastisement_n and_o if_o we_o do_v not_o by_o this_o gentle_a warning_n gather_v ourselves_o to_o repentance_n now_o then_o may_v we_o pull_v down_o a_o heavy_a judgement_n upon_o we_o and_o that_o not_o only_a when_o none_o of_o we_o all_o do_v grow_v to_o repentance_n but_o also_o because_o that_o by_o the_o impenitency_n of_o some_o few_o the_o goodness_n of_o god_n be_v sometime_o restrain_v to_o all_o general_o and_o unless_o we_o be_v dispose_v to_o hearken_v both_o the_o high_a and_o low_a together_o we_o may_v not_o only_o hinder_v ourselves_o of_o that_o relief_n of_o our_o present_a necessity_n that_o otherwise_o we_o may_v obtain_v at_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n but_o beside_o that_o we_o further_o provoke_v he_o by_o so_o great_a contempt_n of_o his_o merciful_a call_n to_o cast_v forth_o some_o heavy_a judgement_n against_o we_o 7_o concern_v the_o matter_n that_o he_o have_v to_o deliver_v fast_o the_o matter_n that_o he_o have_v to_o deliver_v first_o to_o prepare_v they_o to_o a_o public_a fast_o first_o he_o do_v but_o note_v it_o general_o and_o afterward_o treat_v more_o special_o of_o it_o general_o he_o note_v it_o to_o be_v such_o as_o be_v strange_a and_o rare_a and_o not_o light_o to_o be_v esteem_v which_o he_o do_v two_o way_n first_o send_v they_o over_o to_o the_o time_n past_a to_o inquire_v 2._o inquire_v 1_o 2._o whether_o such_o a_o thing_n have_v be_v in_o their_o day_n or_o in_o the_o day_n of_o their_o father_n then_o by_o command_v they_o to_o 3._o to_o 1_o 3._o tell_v their_o child_n of_o it_o and_o that_o so_o it_o
people_n and_o not_o to_o give_v his_o heritage_n over_o in_o reproach_n unto_o the_o heathen_a in_o reproach_n to_o the_o heathen_a they_o may_v easy_o be_v give_v even_o by_o their_o famine_n only_o both_o because_o that_o in_o this_o case_n they_o may_v easy_o be_v over_o run_v of_o their_o enemy_n and_o because_o it_o be_v reproachful_a to_o they_o be_v by_o profession_n the_o people_n of_o god_n to_o be_v notwithstanding_o in_o such_o distress_n when_o the_o heathen_a have_v all_o thing_n needful_a in_o plentiful_a manner_n their_o plead_n he_o will_v have_v to_o rely_v on_o the_o honour_n of_o god_n teach_v they_o to_o say_v wherefore_o shall_v they_o say_v among_o the_o people_n where_o be_v their_o god_n concérn_v the_o place_n where_o it_o shall_v be_v do_v he_o will_v so_o oft_o for_o this_o matter_n and_o the_o prophet_n thereupon_o stook_v not_o to_o bestow_v all_o this_o labour_n upon_o they_o neither_o may_v we_o think_v that_o we_o be_v easy_o win_v to_o a_o godly_a sorrow_n especial_o when_o we_o be_v to_o testify_v the_o same_o in_o public_a manner_n neither_o may_v any_o to_o who_o it_o belong_v think_v much_o to_o call_v on_o those_o that_o shall_v darkness_n when_o as_o the_o poor_a sort_n be_v so_o very_a much_o straighten_v as_o than_o they_o be_v &_o yet_o be_v &_o when_o their_o eye_n wax_v dim_a for_o want_v of_o needful_a susteinance_n when_o as_o this_o cloud_n of_o darkness_n be_v spread_v so_o general_o over_o the_o poor_a sort_n &_o over_o many_o of_o the_o mountain_n themselves_o that_o it_o darken_v much_o the_o light_n of_o our_o wont_a comfort_n &_o joy_n &_o hang_v on_o we_o still_o so_o much_o as_o it_o do_v bode_v i_o know_v not_o what_o further_o distress_n to_o be_v towards_o we_o also_o or_o if_o we_o cast_v our_o eye_n to_o that_o army_n that_o be_v so_o fierce_a &_o sore_o upon_o they_o we_o have_v no_o great_a cause_n to_o conceive_v ourselves_o to_o be_v free_v from_o it_o when_o we_o may_v see_v that_o oùr_fw-la land_n also_o be_v in_o a_o manner_n as_o the_o garden_n of_o eden_n before_o have_v since_o be_v so_o far_o waste_v by_o this_o that_o in_o many_o part_n of_o it_o it_o have_v be_v in_o the_o yield_v of_o thing_n needful_a not_o far_o unlike_a to_o a_o wilderness_n also_o and_o that_o the_o same_o that_o hitherto_o be_v wont_v to_o help_v many_o other_o with_o all_o manner_n of_o grain_n be_v since_o fame_n to_o seek_v far_o óf_a that_o which_o we_o want_v to_o our_o needful_a relief_n and_o yet_o can_v not_o get_v it_o with_o all_o we_o can_v do_v but_o howsoever_o it_o have_v please_v god_n to_o take_v away_o the_o force_n of_o that_o army_n from_o we_o yet_o still_o do_v he_o threaten_v we_o with_o certain_a other_o &_o such_o as_o will_v glad_o pray_v upon_o we_o &_o kind_o do_v it_o if_o once_o they_o may_v attain_v unto_o it_o reason_n if_o we_o do_v not_o it_o be_v our_o fault_n it_o boad_v not_o that_o we_o have_v no_o such_o reason_n insomuch_o that_o if_o our_o face_n also_o be_v not_o abash_v thereat_o it_o be_v but_o oúr_a fault_n it_o be_v no_o argument_n that_o we_o be_v not_o then_o streighten_v so_o far_o as_o we_o speak_v of_o or_o that_o yet_o it_o be_v not_o evident_a that_o god_n do_v shake_v his_o rod_n against_o we_o but_o when_o as_o so_o many_o face_n be_v pale_a for_o want_v of_o needful_a relief_n &_o yet_o be_v partly_o by_o it_o and_o partly_o by_o the_o sickness_n that_o be_v among_o we_o and_o when_o as_o we_o may_v plain_o perceive_v that_o it_o be_v the_o hand_n of_o god_n that_o be_v on_o we_o it_o be_v a_o foul_a shame_n for_o we_o if_o our_o countenance_n be_v not_o something_o appall_v thereat_o &_o a_o very_a ill_a token_n beside_o if_o neither_o that_o distress_n of_o so_o many_o nor_o our_o own_o sin_n that_o have_v bring_v such_o a_o wrath_n upon_o we_o can_v so_o far_o work_v with_o we_o as_o to_o be_v in_o some_o good_a measure_n abash_v thereat_o for_o sure_o that_o necessity_n of_o we_o do_v also_o run_v very_o strong_o against_o we_o prÄ™pare_v to_o the_o battle_n with_o great_a speed_n &_o in_o good_a array_n &_o so_o strengthen_v beside_o by_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n that_o in_o no_o wise_a we_o can_v avoid_v it_o and_o so_o do_v it_o break_v into_o our_o city_n it_o climb_v up_o into_o our_o house_n it_o both_o spoil_v and_o rifle_v all_o i_o can_v not_o say_v that_o the_o heaven_n and_o the_o earth_n be_v astonish_v at_o it_o that_o the_o sun_n and_o the_o moon_n be_v darken_v nor_o that_o the_o star_n take_v their_o light_n god_n be_v thank_v we_o be_v not_o there_o yet_o our_o distress_n or_o scarcity_n be_v not_o so_o great_a that_o in_o these_o creature_n it_o may_v be_v say_v to_o appear_v so_o much_o as_o that_o other_o in_o that_o sense_n that_o the_o prophet_n do_v mean_v it_o nevertheless_o it_o can_v not_o be_v deny_v but_o that_o by_o that_o present_a scarcity_n we_o be_v so_o straighten_v that_o the_o â—eavens_n by_o unseasonable_a wether_n for_o those_o two_o year_n and_o the_o earth_n by_o the_o small_a increase_n of_o corn_n that_o it_o have_v yield_v &_o both_o together_o by_o the_o loss_n of_o our_o cattle_n withal_o do_v pregnant_o witness_v the_o hand_n of_o god_n to_o have_v be_v upon_o we_o and_o our_o scarcity_n be_v such_o as_o it_o be_v those_o that_o be_v distress_v thereby_o can_v have_v so_o little_a comfort_n by_o those_o other_o creature_n that_o to_o thém_v the_o sun_n &_o moon_n and_o star_n after_o a_o sort_n and_o in_o some_o measure_n be_v darken_v also_o in_o that_o sense_n that_o the_o prophet_n mean_v famine_n our_o spiritual_a famine_n and_o if_o we_o go_v further_o to_o that_o spiritual_a famine_n that_o not_o only_o be_v but_o yet_o also_o be_v among_o we_o in_o all_o those_o place_n where_o the_o meat_n offer_v and_o drink-offring_a be_v take_v from_o the_o house_n of_o the_o lord_n therein_o may_v we_o see_v though_o in_o another_o sense_n but_o yet_o very_o pregnant_a &_o of_o great_a importance_n that_o the_o heaven_n no_o doubt_n be_v astonish_v and_o that_o the_o earth_n may_v very_o well_o tremble_v to_o see_v the_o sun_n the_o moon_n and_o the_o star_n the_o truth_n itself_o the_o church_n among_o we_o in_o all_o such_o place_n and_o our_o very_a leader_n themselves_o to_o be_v so_o darken_v as_o they_o be_v partly_o by_o their_o own_o former_a ignorance_n and_o error_n and_o partly_o by_o the_o negligence_n and_o carelessness_n of_o those_o that_o now_o shall_v either_o amend_v themselves_o sorrow_n that_o we_o also_o shall_v give_v ourselves_o to_o our_o most_o sorrow_n or_o at_o least_o make_v sure_a that_o other_o do_v it_o and_o now_o that_o we_o be_v in_o this_o case_n that_o we_o be_v what_o be_v there_o more_o seemly_a or_o convenient_a for_o we_o then_o to_o turn_v to_o the_o lord_n and_o to_o do_v that_o in_o so_o hearty_a manner_n that_o neither_o such_o fast_a nor_o weep_v nor_o mourn_a as_o the_o prophet_n require_v be_v want_v from_o we_o for_o what_o else_o do_v these_o thing_n teach_v we_o but_o to_o turn_v unto_o he_o and_o see_v that_o this_o hand_n of_o god_n that_o be_v on_o we_o do_v in_o some_o measure_n lie_v upon_o all_o though_o some_o be_v much_o more_o sharp_o touch_v therewith_o then_o be_v some_o other_o how_o can_v we_o do_v better_o then_o to_o have_v the_o profession_n of_o our_o repentance_n public_a also_o and_o whereas_o we_o do_v plain_o and_o daily_o see_v that_o
many_o be_v sore_o distress_v herewith_o and_o can_v be_v ignorant_a but_o that_o our_o sin_n that_o have_v provoke_v his_o wrath_n against_o we_o be_v many_o and_o great_a how_o may_v we_o account_v it_o any_o other_o than_o our_o bind_a duty_n and_o plain_a debt_n that_o this_o our_o fast_a be_v very_o thorough_o and_o kind_o steep_v in_o weep_v and_o mourn_v and_o that_o we_o stir_v up_o ourselves_o unto_o so_o unfeigned_a and_o earnest_a sorrow_n in_o both_o these_o respect_n aforesaid_a that_o even_o our_o heart_n may_v in_o some_o measure_n be_v ready_a to_o rend_v or_o cleave_v in_o sunder_o for_o the_o sorrow_n that_o they_o conceive_v as_o not_o able_a to_o contain_v the_o same_o and_o this_o so_o much_o the_o rather_o as_o that_o we_o nów_o know_v much_o better_a than_o of_o christ_n that_o as_o in_o respect_n of_o our_o offence_n and_o the_o judgement_n of_o god_n that_o be_v due_a unto_o they_o which_o in_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n the_o only_o beget_v son_n of_o god_n we_o may_v see_v to_o be_v great_a we_o be_v strong_o urge_v in_o most_o humble_a wise_a to_o seek_v to_o he_o so_o in_o respect_n of_o his_o great_a mercy_n and_o his_o most_o prompt_a readiness_n to_o be_v entreat_v of_o we_o which_o also_o we_o may_v see_v in_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n a_o great_a deal_n more_o clear_o than_o the_o light_n of_o the_o sun_n when_o it_o shine_v the_o clear_a of_o all_o we_o may_v come_v with_o good_a heart_n unto_o he_o and_o in_o full_a assurance_n for_o to_o obtain_v his_o gracious_a favour_n how_o beit_v we_o must_v know_v therewith_o all_o that_o the_o matter_n be_v very_o hard_a hard_o i_o say_v but_o yet_o not_o doubtful_a so_o that_o although_o we_o may_v not_o doubt_v it_o yet_o must_v we_o make_v sure_a that_o we_o labour_v it_o earnest_o with_o all_o our_o power_n &_o all_o our_o strength_n even_o to_o the_o uttermost_a that_o we_o be_v able_a and_o so_o do_v wé_v also_o may_v hope_v that_o notwithstanding_o this_o the_o lord_n will_v much_o rather_o leave_v we_o such_o meat-offring_a and_o drinke-offring_a as_o shall_v be_v needful_a as_o also_o ourselves_o shall_v take_v good_a heed_n that_o we_o never_o withdraw_v that_o from_o those_o to_o who_o it_o be_v due_a no_o not_o in_o our_o own_o distress_n as_o 14_o as_o deut._n 2d_o 14_o we_o may_v find_v our_o self_n direct_v in_o the_o law_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o whereas_o the_o prophet_n require_v that_o both_o old_a &_o young_a suckling_n also_o &_o those_o that_o be_v but_o new-married_a shall_v come_v forth_o to_o this_o exercise_n we_o also_o may_v learn_v that_o it_o be_v needful_a for_o we_o likewise_o to_o withdraw_v ourselves_o for_o a_o time_n from_o our_o wont_a delight_n &_o worldly_a affair_n and_o with_o one_o heart_n to_o assemble_v ourselves_o together_o to_o seek_v the_o lord_n wherein_o as_o all_o be_v to_o stir_v up_o themselves_o to_o a_o godly_a &_o a_o hearty_a sorrow_n of_o what_o estate_n sex_n or_o age_n soever_o they_o be_v so_o be_v the_o minister_n of_o the_o lord_n especial_o to_o take_v so_o good_a a_o course_n therein_o as_o best_a may_v serve_v to_o stir_v up_o themselves_o and_o other_o also_o sound_o and_o thorough_o to_o do_v what_o they_o have_v in_o hand_n &_o well_o to_o remember_v that_o be_v as_o they_o be_v the_o salt_n of_o the_o earth_n they_o make_v the_o same_o now_o to_o appear_v especial_o in_o this_o but_o whereas_o that_o late_a scarcity_n of_o we_o the_o sickness_n that_o now_o be_v &_o the_o trouble_n that_o be_v doubt_v by_o diverse_a might_n well_o be_v grievous_a unto_o we_o not_o only_o in_o respect_n of_o ourselves_o but_o much_o more_o for_o that_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n may_v be_v touch_v thereby_o and_o our_o holy_a profession_n ill_o speak_v of_o likewise_o although_o we_o may_v very_o well_o be_v touch_v with_o the_o sense_n of_o our_o own_o necessity_n yet_o be_v we_o in_o any_o wise_a chief_o to_o respect_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n &_o for_o that_o cause_n especial_o to_o desire_v the_o lord_n to_o be_v favourable_a therein_o unto_o we_o that_o whereas_o he_o have_v vouchsafe_v we_o to_o be_v his_o people_n &_o himself_o to_o be_v our_o god_n we_o may_v in_o such_o sort_n have_v his_o gracious_a help_n in_o all_o these_o matter_n that_o it_o may_v be_v see_v that_o we_o have_v a_o good_a &_o a_o gracious_a god_n &_o that_o he_o account_v not_o otherwise_o of_o we_o though_o in_o ourselves_o we_o can_v nothing_o deserve_v it_o but_o as_o of_o his_o peculiar_a &_o entire_o belove_a people_n he_o that_o 32._o that_o mat._n 22_o 32._o say_v that_o god_n be_v not_o a_o god_n of_o the_o dead_a but_o of_o the_o live_n upon_o our_o hearty_a repentance_n will_v soon_o procure_v that_o though_o our_o estate_n be_v so_o hard_o yet_o shall_v it_o be_v so_o alter_v from_o worse_a to_o better_a from_o want_n to_o plenty_n from_o sickness_n to_o health_n from_o trouble_n to_o godly_a peace_n that_o in_o our_o own_o experience_n soon_o we_o shall_v find_v that_o the_o father_n himself_o will_v account_v it_o dishonourable_a to_o he_o that_o we_o his_o people_n shall_v still_o be_v miserable_a now_o how_o to_o find_v out_o what_o those_o sin_n be_v of_o which_o they_o have_v to_o repent_v they_o now_o &_o as_o it_o be_v swallow_v up_o with_o distress_n 13_o those_o sin_n in_o particular_a that_o the_o people_n they_o be_v infect_v withal_o although_o this_o our_o prophet_n do_v not_o name_v they_o as_o it_o seem_v upon_o such_o reason_n as_o before_o be_v declaerd_v yet_o both_o they_o may_v be_v easy_o gather_v out_o of_o the_o history_n of_o that_o time_n and_o it_o be_v good_a that_o we_o herein_o have_v some_o eye_n unto_o they_o that_o so_o we_o may_v the_o more_o to_o our_o edify_a apply_v this_o call_n of_o the_o prophet_n unto_o ourselves_o and_o the_o history_n of_o this_o present_a time_n be_v set_v forth_o unto_o we_o sufficient_o at_o least_o to_o this_o purpose_n both_o in_o the_o history_n of_o the_o king_n of_o judah_n and_o in_o certain_a of_o the_o prophet_n beside_o king_n out_o of_o the_o story_n of_o the_o king_n but_o in_o the_o story_n of_o the_o king_n of_o judah_n there_o be_v and_o all_o the_o man_n of_o war_n to_o draw_v near_o and_o to_o come_v up_o to_o the_o muster_n then_o to_o the_o end_n they_o may_v all_o have_v weapon_n enough_o or_o that_o there_o may_v be_v on_o that_o course_n that_o before_o he_o have_v intend_v he_o may_v seem_v to_o have_v respect_n unto_o the_o prophet_n in_o that_o he_o say_v 12._o say_v 3_o 12._o let_v they_o be_v waken_v hear_v the_o lord_n hear_v and_o let_v all_o these_o nation_n come_v up_o into_o the_o valley_n of_o jehoshaphat_n for_o there_o will_v i_o sit_v to_o judge_v all_o these_o nation_n round_o about_o or_o they_o shall_v be_v waken_v and_o all_o these_o nation_n shall_v come_v up_o &c_n &c_n but_o there_o will_v i_o sit_v etc._n etc._n for_o whereas_o the_o prophet_n immediate_o before_o declare_v the_o residue_n of_o those_o that_o in_o spirit_n and_o truth_n do_v call_v upon_o god_n and_o howsoever_o they_o may_v seem_v to_o flourish_v for_o the_o time_n and_o thereby_o to_o hinder_v the_o
