plague-sore_n of_o our_o family_n and_o town_n they_o can_v be_v content_a to_o be_v as_o they_o ought_v and_o do_v as_o they_o shall_v but_o they_o never_o labour_v to_o do_v that_o which_o god_n require_v therefore_o let_v i_o enter_v into_o some_o particular_n and_o i_o will_v rank_n these_o lazy_a hypocrite_n into_o four_o form_n that_o every_o one_o may_v see_v of_o which_o sort_n he_o be_v hypocrite_n 4_o sort_n of_o lazy_a hypocrite_n the_o first_o sort_n be_v those_o who_o when_o they_o enjoy_v the_o mean_n of_o salvation_n marvellous_a profitable_a and_o plentiful_a when_o wisdom_n have_v kill_v her_o fat_a thing_n and_o refine_v her_o wine_n and_o furnish_v her_o table_n every_o one_o may_v come_v and_o eat_v of_o my_o meat_n and_o drink_v of_o my_o wine_n now_o these_o lazy_a professor_n esteem_v not_o receive_v not_o any_o benefit_n by_o these_o blessing_n which_o god_n offer_v and_o wisdom_n tender_v to_o they_o but_o complain_v of_o too_o much_o bread_n and_o too_o much_o wine_n and_o too_o much_o manna_n they_o will_v not_o take_v that_o mercy_n which_o be_v offer_v a_o minister_n can_v force_v a_o power_n of_o grace_n upon_o their_o soul_n or_o any_o of_o god_n precious_a promise_n upon_o their_o heart_n these_o be_v lazy_a drone_n indeed_o do_v that_o man_n desire_v a_o commodity_n that_o will_v beat_v the_o carrier_n that_o bring_v it_o to_o he_o and_o cast_v it_o away_o from_o he_o no_o all_o the_o world_n will_v say_v he_o prize_v it_o not_o he_o desire_v it_o not_o otherwise_o he_o will_v have_v receive_v it_o glad_o and_o give_v much_o money_n for_o it_o too_o if_o a_o soul_n be_v hunger-starve_v will_v he_o not_o receive_v bread_n if_o it_o be_v offer_v he_o or_o will_v he_o not_o call_v the_o man_n to_o he_o that_o sell_v bread_n and_o buy_v it_o of_o he_o to_o supply_v his_o want_n with_o the_o soon_o and_o say_v let_v i_o be_v serve_v first_o so_o have_v these_o professor_n any_o long_a desire_n after_o the_o precious_a mean_n of_o grace_n and_o salvation_n when_o mercy_n and_o salvation_n have_v be_v set_v upon_o the_o stall_n and_o the_o lord_n cry_v ho_o every_o one_o that_o will_v let_v he_o take_v of_o the_o well_o of_o the_o water_n of_o life_n and_o live_v for_o ever_o free_o and_o ho_o every_o one_o that_o thirst_v let_v he_o come_v and_o buy_v wine_n and_o milk_n without_o money_n nay_o many_o a_o poor_a minister_n will_v fain_o leave_v his_o commodity_n behind_o he_o and_o say_v you_o must_v have_v it_o and_o shall_v have_v it_o and_o i_o will_v give_v you_o the_o buy_n of_o it_o we_o be_v fain_o to_o force_v god_n favour_n upon_o the_o soul_n we_o beseech_v you_o to_o believe_v and_o we_o entreat_v you_o for_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n sake_n to_o receive_v mercy_n and_o when_o the_o word_n work_v least_o upon_o he_o and_o therefore_o when_o he_o think_v the_o minister_n will_v come_v to_o his_o soul_n he_o will_v not_o be_v at_o home_o that_o day_n he_o will_v be_v sure_a to_o be_v out_o of_o town_n he_o know_v the_o word_n will_v have_v awaken_v he_o and_o affright_v he_o and_o he_o can_v bear_v the_o blow_n therefore_o he_o keep_v away_o and_o shun_v the_o hear_n of_o god_n word_n which_o will_v awaken_v and_o humble_v he_o sort_v of_o lazy_a hypocrite_n 2_o second_o of_o this_o crew_n be_v those_o who_o when_o god_n have_v take_v away_o and_o deprive_v they_o of_o the_o ordinary_a mean_n of_o grace_n and_o salvation_n whereby_o he_o do_v good_a unto_o the_o soul_n they_o be_v well_o content_a to_o be_v without_o the_o same_o they_o sit_v

he_o that_o buy_v for_o gain_v will_v have_v his_o pennyworth_n or_o else_o he_o will_v none_o of_o the_o commodity_n he_o will_v have_v it_o worth_a his_o money_n or_o else_o leave_v it_o but_o a_o poor_a famish_a soul_n and_o hunger-bitten_a creature_n that_o buy_v for_o mere_a necessity_n must_v have_v it_o and_o will_v have_v it_o what_o ever_o he_o want_v beside_o he_o stand_v not_o upon_o if_n and_o and_o be_v but_o give_v i_o grace_n and_o take_v all_o he_o care_v for_o nothing_o else_o now_o of_o these_o stage_n hypocrite_n i_o will_v set_v down_o two_o sort_n because_o i_o desire_v to_o lay_v they_o naked_a sort_v of_o stage_n hypocrite_n 1_o and_o first_o those_o that_o will_v take_v up_o so_o much_o of_o christ_n and_o the_o gospel_n as_o may_v stand_v with_o their_o credit_n and_o with_o their_o estate_n they_o will_v embrace_v all_o those_o truth_n that_o be_v not_o troublesome_a but_o profitable_a that_o be_v of_o honour_n and_o credit_n and_o will_v go_v off_o roundly_o these_o they_o be_v forward_o to_o take_v up_o but_o to_o have_v all_o christ_n and_o nothing_o but_o christ_n by_o no_o mean_n they_o will_v yield_v to_o now_o the_o lord_n be_v merciful_a to_o we_o this_o be_v the_o religion_n of_o many_o look_v into_o every_o man_n family_n consider_v every_o man_n course_n so_o much_o of_o the_o gospel_n as_o will_v serve_v our_o turn_n so_o much_o we_o will_v welcome_v and_o trade_n in_o but_o to_o come_v to_o the_o congregation_n only_o for_o christ_n that_o be_v a_o shame_n and_o to_o be_v strict_a in_o order_v one_o family_n we_o know_v not_o what_o it_o mean_v so_o a_o shopkeeper_n will_v have_v so_o much_o religion_n as_o shall_v enable_v he_o to_o pray_v in_o his_o family_n and_o confer_v as_o occasion_n serve_v and_o to_o toll_v in_o a_o customer_n and_o put_v off_o a_o crack_a commodity_n thus_o far_o he_o like_v religion_n but_o when_o he_o come_v to_o this_o to_o have_v so_o much_o religion_n as_o shall_v make_v he_o fear_n to_o do_v any_o wrong_n so_o that_o if_o a_o poor_a child_n or_o silly_a woman_n shall_v lay_v he_o down_o a_o groat_n or_o a_o tester_n more_o than_o his_o commodity_n be_v worth_a he_o dare_v not_o take_v it_o but_o give_v it_o back_o again_o oh_o this_o will_v do_v he_o no_o good_a he_o can_v gain_v nothing_o this_o way_n do_v these_o man_n desire_v religion_n think_v you_o many_o a_o maid_n will_v fain_o marry_v a_o man_n because_o he_o have_v a_o good_a estate_n and_o can_v make_v she_o a_o good_a jointure_n but_o that_o the_o man_n shall_v rule_v she_o and_o she_o be_v obedient_a to_o he_o this_o she_o will_v none_o of_o all_o her_o desire_n be_v to_o have_v a_o rich_a jointure_n in_o his_o estate_n so_o many_o profess_v the_o gospel_n because_o it_o be_v a_o matter_n of_o credit_n and_o great_a man_n can_v countenance_v the_o gospel_n so_o much_o as_o the_o gospel_n credit_n they_o but_o if_o thou_o will_v not_o be_v content_a to_o be_v rule_v by_o the_o in_o himself_o this_o i_o take_v to_o be_v the_o reason_n why_o this_o gracious_a work_n of_o god_n find_v more_o contradiction_n in_o the_o heart_n than_o any_o grace_n i_o know_v a_o man_n find_v a_o great_a do_v with_o his_o own_o heart_n and_o a_o great_a hardness_n and_o crosnesse_n in_o the_o heart_n to_o come_v in_o and_o believe_v than_o to_o do_v any_o thing_n else_o a_o man_n will_v because_o not_o only_a corruption_n oppose_v the_o work_n of_o faith_n but_o even_o a_o man_n gift_n and_o self_n and_o sufficiency_n which_o god_n give_v he_o that_o now_o and_o then_o seem_v to_o be_v the_o hindrance_n of_o faith_n it_o be_v through_o our_o corruption_n indeed_o in_o other_o thing_n it_o be_v not_o so_o we_o will_v fain_o get_v sorrow_n and_o therefore_o we_o labour_v for_o it_o and_o we_o will_v have_v love_n and_o therefore_o we_o labour_v for_o it_o but_o all_o this_o be_v out_o of_o our_o own_o power_n or_o ability_n we_o will_v keep_v we_o in_o ourselves_o but_o faith_n will_v have_v we_o go_v out_o to_o christ_n and_o our_o part_n will_v work_v this_o in_o we_o but_o faith_n say_v we_o must_v go_v to_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n or_o else_o we_o be_v not_o able_a to_o do_v that_o which_o he_o command_v so_o now_o you_o see_v that_o a_o man_n part_n and_o ability_n be_v sometime_o great_a hindrance_n and_o bar_n to_o keep_v a_o man_n from_o believe_v and_o this_o be_v the_o reason_n why_o if_o god_n open_v a_o man_n eye_n and_o discover_v a_o man_n corruption_n by_o nature_n we_o fall_v to_o do_v to_o repent_v formal_o and_o all_o this_o set_v thou_o god_n power_n and_o faithfulness_n to_o work_v and_o not_o thy_o own_o care_n commit_v it_o to_o the_o lord_n and_o hurl_v thy_o care_n upon_o he_o so_o far_o as_o concern_v the_o burden_n of_o it_o direction_n 2_o second_o by_o faith_n go_v to_o the_o promise_n again_o for_o help_n and_o power_n to_o wait_v upon_o god_n in_o that_o way_n and_o to_o look_v towards_o god_n in_o the_o use_n of_o those_o mean_n that_o he_o have_v appoint_v for_o the_o attain_n of_o that_o good_a which_o his_o power_n will_v work_v for_o thou_o god_n will_v work_v it_o and_o so_o thou_o must_v meet_v god_n in_o the_o course_n of_o his_o providence_n in_o the_o improvement_n of_o the_o mean_n he_o have_v appoint_v for_o thy_o good_a observe_v thou_o his_o providence_n and_o do_v thou_o what_o god_n require_v for_o otherwise_o we_o live_v not_o by_o faith_n but_o tempt_v god_n and_o throw_v away_o the_o promise_n and_o all_o and_o deprive_v ourselves_o of_o that_o good_a which_o
