man_n of_o his_o liberty_n but_o in_o this_o our_o age_n when_o almost_o all_o go_v as_o far_o as_o they_o may_v and_o the_o most_o part_n both_o of_o man_n and_o woman_n a_o great_a deal_n beyond_o their_o compass_n where_o be_v this_o temperance_n and_o sobriety_n which_o be_v so_o high_o commend_v in_o the_o scripture_n the_o very_a wall_n of_o pure_a life_n and_o bar_n of_o chaste_a conversation_n this_o may_v be_v bewail_v of_o all_o man_n but_o the_o disease_n be_v so_o universal_a as_o it_o be_v impossible_a to_o be_v cure_v if_o the_o lord_n shall_v not_o put_v to_o his_o as_o hope_v for_o wage_n by_o reason_n of_o their_o work_n and_o that_o if_o we_o will_v lay_v claim_n to_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_o for_o our_o work_v we_o remain_v accurse_v for_o every_o sin_n and_o offence_n against_o the_o law_n commit_v by_o we_o because_o it_o be_v the_o write_a sentence_n of_o the_o law_n that_o he_o be_v curse_a that_o continue_v not_o in_o all_o thing_n that_o be_v his_o prayer_n be_v comfort_v and_o this_o assurance_n of_o god_n his_o particular_a regard_n and_o favour_n towards_o we_o bring_v with_o it_o a_o serve_v and_o honour_v of_o god_n in_o truth_n and_o they_o shall_v by_o faithful_a prayer_n resort_v unto_o he_o his_o meaning_n be_v to_o leave_v manifest_a and_o plain_a proof_n that_o he_o rule_v herein_o earth_n even_o by_o that_o mercy_n that_o he_o have_v to_o bestow_v upon_o he_o who_o call_v and_o cry_v unto_o he_o in_o their_o necessity_n with_o a_o assure_a hope_n of_o be_v hear_v for_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o name_n the_o honour_n of_o his_o kingdom_n and_o the_o good_a pleasure_n of_o he_o will_v go_v joint_o together_o with_o the_o hear_n &_o regard_v of_o their_o cause_n according_a as_o they_o be_v set_v before_o this_o petition_n in_o this_o form_n of_o prayer_n that_o be_v prescribe_v by_o the_o lord_n where_o before_o we_o make_v mention_n of_o daily_a bread_n there_o be_v request_v make_v for_o the_o hallow_n of_o his_o name_n the_o come_n of_o his_o kingdom_n and_o do_v his_o will_n because_o even_o then_o when_o he_o relieve_v the_o necessity_n of_o his_o that_o call_n upon_o he_o his_o name_n be_v hallow_v his_o kingdom_n come_v and_o that_o be_v perform_v which_o be_v agreeable_a to_o his_o will._n this_o can_v but_o minister_v hope_n and_o comfort_n unto_o we_o in_o all_o our_o necessity_n that_o his_o honour_n and_o glory_n be_v after_o a_o manner_n darken_v in_o our_o distress_n and_o as_o it_o be_v suffer_v in_o the_o same_o which_o the_o lord_n god_n can_v but_o erect_v and_o where_o the_o fault_n be_v pardon_v the_o man_n be_v as_o if_o he_o have_v not_o offend_v he_o be_v no_o long_o account_v a_o trespasser_n can_v it_o then_o stand_v with_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o lord_n to_o punish_v he_o who_o he_o himself_o have_v justify_v as_o no_o offender_n in_o the_o free_a pardon_v and_o forgive_n of_o his_o fault_n we_o do_v see_v it_o throughout_o this_o chapter_n that_o when_o they_o shall_v confess_v their_o fault_n and_o turn_n unto_o the_o lord_n they_o be_v discharge_v of_o the_o punishment_n and_o that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v ignorant_a of_o this_o divorcement_n between_o the_o punishment_n &_o the_o fault_n which_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n have_v invent_v to_o utter_v their_o merchandise_n of_o satisfaction_n withal_o and_o lest_o any_o shall_v think_v that_o this_o prayer_n for_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n do_v but_o take_v place_n in_o these_o special_a cause_n in_o the_o remove_v of_o those_o particular_a &_o special_a punishment_n the_o holy_a ghost_n make_v it_o general_a in_o the_o seven_o and_o thirty_o verse_n when_o there_o shall_v be_v famine_n in_o the_o land_n when_o there_o shall_v be_v pestilence_n 37._o blast_v mildew_n grasshopper_n or_o caterpillar_n when_o their_o enemy_n shall_v besiege_v they_o in_o the_o city_n of_o their_o land_n or_o any_o plague_n or_o any_o sickness_n for_o these_o be_v the_o very_a word_n of_o the_o text_n that_o their_o prayer_n shall_v be_v available_a when_o they_o shall_v confess_v their_o fault_n and_o true_o turn_v unto_o the_o lord_n for_o the_o remove_v of_o affliction_n to_o persuade_v the_o man_n that_o be_v sore_o afflict_v for_o his_o sin_n that_o there_o be_v mercy_n with_o the_o lord_n to_o remove_v his_o punishment_n if_o he_o shall_v true_o humble_v himself_o in_o repentance_n for_o his_o sin_n yet_o we_o see_v what_o plain_a proof_n there_o be_v of_o the_o same_o to_o increase_v our_o faith_n in_o the_o persuasion_n to_o have_v our_o estate_n of_o the_o child_n of_o god_n but_o the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n do_v guide_v those_o that_o be_v he_o to_o look_v to_o the_o end_n of_o the_o upright_o man_n mark_v the_o upright_a man_n and_o behold_v the_o just_a for_o the_o end_n of_o that_o man_n be_v peace_n say_v the_o prophet_n and_o almost_o all_o those_o request_n that_o solomon_n make_v for_o the_o people_n of_o god_n know_v to_o rule_v and_o reign_v here_o upon_o earth_n &_o be_v glorify_v in_o the_o same_o this_o desire_n therefore_o to_o have_v he_o glorify_v shall_v be_v both_o at_o the_o beginning_n and_o end_n of_o our_o prayer_n whether_o our_o suit_n be_v for_o spiritual_a grace_n or_o for_o temporal_a blessing_n by_o this_o also_o our_o faith_n be_v strengthen_v in_o the_o hope_n to_o obtain_v our_o petition_n because_o the_o lord_n can_v neglect_v the_o glory_n of_o his_o name_n and_o the_o honour_n of_o his_o kingdom_n which_o depend_v upon_o the_o performance_n of_o his_o mercy_n
