wine_n be_v mix_v with_o water_n mean_v thereby_o that_o their_o sincerity_n and_o integrity_n in_o all_o manner_n of_o deal_v be_v turn_v to_o falsehood_n and_o forgery_n and_o therefore_o 26_o with_o sorrow_n and_o groan_v he_o protest_v that_o he_o will_v ease_v his_o stomach_n *_o and_o be_v revenge_v of_o this_o his_o froward_a and_o stubborn_a people_n which_o for_o that_o cause_n he_o call_v now_o his_o enemy_n and_o yet_o lest_o such_o as_o have_v some_o fear_n of_o god_o shall_v have_v their_o conscience_n to_o much_o shake_v with_o this_o terrible_a threaten_n 16_o he_o do_v *_o comfortable_o qualify_v the_o grievousness_n thereof_o signify_v that_o he_o will_v not_o clean_o destroy_v his_o church_n but_o with_o the_o fire_n of_o affliction_n will_v purge_v the_o dross_n transgressor_n that_o have_v forsake_v god_n and_o clean_v to_o superstition_n and_o idolatry_n for_o that_o he_o mean_v by_o their_o tree_n and_o garden_n which_o they_o have_v choose_v shall_v not_o escape_v the_o scourge_n but_o he_o destroy_v and_o bring_v to_o confusion_n together_o with_o their_o idol_n under_o tree_n and_o in_o grove_n or_o garden_n they_o be_v wont_v to_o sacrifice_v to_o be_v perpetual_a *_o felicity_n and_o tranquillity_n for_o christ_n have_v obtain_v for_o we_o of_o god_n the_o father_n all_o those_o blessing_n that_o we_o have_v not_o only_o bodily_a but_o also_o and_o special_o spiritual_a that_o be_v 8._o *_o remission_n of_o sin_n *_o impute_v of_o christ_n justice_n to_o we_o and_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_o to_o *_o mortify_v the_o lust_n of_o the_o the_o wicked_a that_o they_o do_v die_v and_o live_v not_o again_o for_o their_o resurrection_n shall_v be_v to_o they_o a_o death_n perpetual_a and_o no_o life_n and_o although_o they_o seem_v to_o prosper_v and_o flourish_v long_o on_o earth_n to_o the_o annoyance_n of_o the_o godly_a yet_o the_o lord_n visit_v they_o in_o due_a time_n 16_o *_o and_o root_v the_o memory_n of_o they_o out_o of_o the_o earth_n so_o that_o they_o shall_v never_o rise_v again_o to_o glory_n thou_o have_v increase_v the_o people_n 17._o oh_o lord_n thou_o have_v increase_v etc_n etc_n this_o be_v the_o other_o part_n of_o the_o comparison_n touch_v the_o godly_a as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v thou_o oh_o lord_n christ_n destroy_v the_o wicked_a and_o roote_v out_o their_o memory_n nevertheless_o thou_o do_v gather_v thy_o church_n and_o increase_v the_o number_n of_o thy_o people_n that_o thy_o glory_n may_v be_v spread_v and_o extend_v to_o the_o uttermost_a bound_n of_o the_o earth_n and_o yet_o do_v thou_o not_o gather_v they_o to_o rest_n and_o quietness_n of_o this_o life_n but_o to_o great_a vexation_n and_o affliction_n and_o therefore_o do_v they_o resort_v to_o thou_o in_o their_o trouble_n 8_o *_o and_o pour_v out_o their_o prayer_n to_o thou_o in_o the_o time_n of_o thy_o chasten_n for_o *_o thy_o chasten_n they_o do_v acknowledge_v it_o to_o be_v whatsoever_o come_v 21_o although_o in_o these_o verse_n next_o follow_v be_v denounce_v a_o grievous_a threaten_n of_o god_n against_o such_o wilful_a and_o obstinate_a refuser_n and_o contemner_n of_o his_o word_n see_v say_v he_o your_o wickedness_n be_v such_o thus_o say_v that_o holy_a god_n that_o have_v choose_v israel_n for_o his_o peculiar_a people_n because_o you_o have_v refuse_v this_o my_o word_n and_o promise_n whereby_o i_o have_v undertake_v to_o preserve_v and_o deliver_v you_o from_o your_o enemy_n in_o all_o your_o adversity_n and_o put_v your_o trust_n in_o wrong_n deal_n and_o perverse_a judgement_n by_o seek_v help_n of_o idolator_n with_o money_n and_o riches_n therefore_o i_o say_v shall_v extreme_a destruction_n come_v upon_o you_o and_o as_o a_o high_a wall_n if_o it_o begin_v to_o have_v a_o cleft_n fall_v sudden_o before_o man_n beware_v oâ—_n it_o so_o you_o which_o by_o the_o blessing_n of_o god_n have_v be_v hitherto_o high_a and_o notable_a because_o you_o have_v begin_v to_o be_v cleave_v with_o the_o breech_n of_o vufaythfulnesse_n and_o wickedness_n shall_v fall_v upon_o the_o sudden_a to_o extreme_a confusion_n 27_o yea_o and_o even_o as_o a_o *_o earthen_a vessel_n so_o break_v by_o the_o fall_n of_o a_o great_a stone_n upon_o it_o that_o one_o share_v or_o shiver_v be_v not_o leave_v so_o big_a as_o to_o carry_v a_o coal_n of_o fire_n on_o or_o to_o take_v water_n out_o of_o a_o pit_n so_o you_o i_o say_v that_o have_v hitherto_o be_v the_o vessel_n of_o god_n great_a merâ—ie_n shall_v be_v so_o oppress_v and_o destroy_v that_o scant_o any_o remnant_n shall_v be_v save_v 17._o yea_o in_o the_o end_n you_o shall_v be_v bring_v to_o so_o small_a a_o number_n that_o you_o shall_v be_v but_o here_o and_o there_o one_o as_o it_o be_v a_o mast_n of_o a_o ship_n upon_o a_o mountain_n or_o a_o beacon_n upon_o a_o hill_n which_o shall_v remain_v only_o as_o a_o token_n of_o the_o great_a calamity_n that_o by_o god_n hand_n shall_v fall_v upon_o you_o therefore_o do_v the_o lord_n cause_n you_o to_o wait_v 18._o that_o he_o may_v have_v etc_n etc_n here_o the_o prophet_n declare_v a_o cause_n why_o they_o shall_v leave_v the_o help_n of_o stranger_n and_o put_v their_o trust_n in_o he_o that_o be_v because_o he_o have_v determine_v to_o save_v they_o from_o the_o assyrian_n if_o they_o will_v â—arie_v in_o their_o city_n and_o call_v upon_o he_o for_o help_v the_o lord_n say_v he_o cause_v you_o to_o wait_v and_o defer_v his_o do_v not_o that_o he_o intend_v to_o forsake_v you_o but_o that_o he_o may_v merriful_o and_o with_o the_o more_o glory_n of_o his_o judgement_n deliver_v you_o therefore_o shall_v you_o be_v of_o good_a cheer_n 7_o and_o look_v for_o the_o help_n of_o the_o lord_n for_o *_o bless_a be_v they_o and_o good_a shall_v come_v unto_o they_o that_o put_v their_o trust_n in_o the_o lord_n 19_o for_o this_o i_o do_v assure_v you_o say_v the_o prophet_n if_o the_o people_n remain_v in_o jerusalem_n with_o quiet_a trust_n in_o god_n 9_o *_o though_o for_o the_o time_n they_o feel_v some_o trouble_n hurt_n and_o scarcity_n by_o the_o enemy_n besiege_v they_o yet_o shall_v they_o not_o perish_v &_o be_v oppress_v but_o at_o their_o first_o complaint_n and_o call_n upon_o he_o 20._o he_o will_v have_v mercy_n on_o they_o and_o although_o the_o assyrian_n shall_v seem_v so_o to_o have_v waste_v their_o country_n that_o they_o shall_v not_o have_v any_o sustenance_n to_o live_v by_o god_n yet_o will_v so_o merciful_o deal_v with_o they_o that_o he_o shall_v give_v they_o plenty_n of_o food_n with_o rain_n and_o prosperous_a weather_n to_o maintain_v the_o same_o yea_o 6_o and_o as_o a_o pastor_n follow_v his_o flock_n do_v guide_v they_o with_o his_o 〈◊〉_d unto_o the_o right_a way_n so_o shall_v the_o lord_n send_v they_o prophet_n prince_n and_o ruler_n that_o shall_v govern_v and_o guide_v they_o that_o they_o in_o their_o do_n may_v go_v neither_o on_o the_o right_a hand_n nor_o on_o the_o left_a but_o keep_v the_o straight_a and_o true_a way_n 22._o but_o the_o lord_n do_v not_o only_o require_v of_o they_o that_o they_o shall_v remain_v with_o quiet_a trust_n and_o confidence_n in_o he_o â—_o but_o also_o that_o they_o shall_v destroy_v and_o cast_v away_o their_o filthy_a idol_n the_o *_o worship_n whereof_o have_v lead_v they_o from_o the_o true_a service_n of_o god_n and_o so_o cause_v they_o grievous_o to_o offend_v and_o to_o stray_v from_o the_o right_a way_n of_o his_o word_n appoint_v then_o shall_v god_n give_v rain_n unto_o thy_o seed_n 24_o that_o thou_o shall_v say_v that_o at_o that_o time_n that_o god_n shall_v destroy_v great_a multitude_n of_o the_o assyrian_n and_o pull_v down_o their_o high_a tower_n that_o be_v overthrow_v their_o mighty_a prince_n before_o they_o be_v for_o to_o those_o that_o be_v in_o danger_n and_o heaviness_n the_o sun_n and_o moon_n do_v seem_v dark_a and_o dim_a and_o when_o they_o be_v deliver_v all_o thing_n for_o joy_n seem_v more_o bright_a and_o comfortable_a and_o because_o these_o particular_a deliverance_n of_o the_o jew_n from_o their_o enemy_n often_o in_o the_o prophet_n be_v figure_n of_o the_o great_a deliverance_n of_o the_o people_n of_o god_n from_o their_o spiritual_a enemy_n by_o christ_n jesus_n this_o whole_a place_n may_v well_o be_v interpret_v of_o the_o happy_a and_o *_o spiritual_a success_n 3_o that_o by_o christ_n shall_v come_v to_o the_o faithful_a and_o of_o the_o great_a brightness_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n which_o then_o shall_v shiâ—e_v far_o more_o plentiful_o then_o ever_o it_o do_v before_o behold_v the_o fame_n of_o the_o lord_n come_v from_o far_o 27._o and_o his_o presence_n etc_n etc_n this_o be_v a_o other_o cause_n why_o that_o people_n shall_v stay_v themselves_o in_o the_o trust_n of_o god_n and_o not_o seek_v other_o foreign_a aid_n and_o strength_n for_o that_o he_o will_v destroy_v the_o assyrian_n and_o come_v upon_o they_o as_o a_o mirth_n and_o comfort_n yea_o that_o he_o will_v repair_v the_o ruin_n and_o decay_n of_o his_o church_n and_o make_v their_o desert_n and_o wilderness_n a_o paradise_n and_o garden_n of_o pleasure_n the_o ruin_n and_o decay_v of_o zion_n be_v the_o lose_v sheep_n of_o the_o house_n of_o israel_n which_o christ_n and_o his_o apostle_n restore_v the_o desert_n and_o wilderness_n be_v the_o gentile_n which_o of_o old_a have_v refuse_v the_o true_a knowledge_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o be_v as_o stranger_n to_o the_o promise_n of_o salvation_n but_o the_o senior_a desert_n god_n make_v say_v arise_v thou_o and_o contend_v with_o the_o mountain_n etc_n etc_n and_o then_o he_o obey_v the_o appointment_n of_o god_n say_v hear_v oh_o you_o mountain_n the_o lord_n quarrel_n etc_n etc_n as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v forsomuch_o as_o the_o heart_n of_o this_o people_n be_v so_o far_o from_o god_n that_o not_o so_o much_o as_o one_o of_o they_o will_v consider_v and_o unbe_n â—stande_v his_o cause_n i_o appeal_v to_o you_o hill_n and_o mountain_n and_o make_v the_o unsensible_a creature_n judge_n against_o they_o in_o this_o the_o prophet_n both_o note_v the_o hard_a heart_n and_o the_o obstinate_a contempt_n of_o the_o jew_n particular_o and_o also_o general_o teach_v all_o than_o which_o in_o like_a manner_n contemn_v the_o word_n of_o god_n that_o they_o shall_v by_o no_o mean_n be_v able_a to_o escape_v just_a judgement_n and_o condemnation_n etc_n for_o because_o the_o *_o who_o will_v world_n be_v make_v by_o god_n for_o we_o and_o in_o all_o point_n serve_v to_o our_o use_n perform_v that_o end_n to_o the_o which_o it_o be_v make_v though_o all_o other_o judge_n and_o witness_n will_v fail_v the_o very_a part_n of_o the_o world_n and_o the_o common_a creature_n will_v pronounce_v sentence_n against_o we_o if_o we_o in_o our_o call_n do_v show_v ourselves_o unthankful_a disobedient_a and_o rebellious_a against_o god._n oh_o my_o people_n what_o
