the_o inward_a man_n than_o all_o the_o outward_a suffering_n which_o we_o may_v meet_v with_o for_o in_o these_o be_v faithful_a the_o lord_n comfort_v our_o heart_n 2._o again_o we_o meet_v together_o to_o wait_v upon_o the_o lord_n because_o we_o fear_v the_o lord_n god_n he_o have_v place_v his_o fear_n in_o our_o heart_n and_o we_o know_v he_o to_o be_v great_a and_o mighty_a a_o great_a king_n above_o all_o king_n and_o a_o great_a god_n above_o all_o god_n s_o that_o be_v able_a to_o do_v whatsoever_o he_o will_v in_o heaven_n and_o in_o earth_n and_o in_o the_o kingdom_n of_o man_n and_o we_o know_v he_o be_v worthy_a to_o be_v worship_v and_o to_o have_v the_o heart_n give_v up_o unto_o he_o for_o he_o have_v power_n to_o change_v the_o heart_n which_o man_n by_o all_o their_o force_n can_v do_v and_o to_o give_v true_a and_o last_a peace_n which_o the_o world_n can_v never_o take_v away_o and_o his_o fear_n be_v in_o our_o heart_n we_o account_v he_o lord_n and_o ruler_n in_o our_o conscience_n and_o worthy_a to_o be_v obeve_v in_o heart_n soul_n and_o spirit_n and_o because_o we_o fear_v he_o more_o than_o man_n we_o be_v bind_v in_o duty_n to_o obey_v he_o for_o he_o have_v power_n over_o both_o soul_n and_o body_n which_o man_n have_v not_o for_o man_n can_v but_o kill_v the_o body_n he_o have_v not_o power_n to_o kill_v the_o soul_n neither_o have_v he_o power_n to_o redeem_v the_o soul_n neither_o can_v man_n convert_v the_o soul_n by_o any_o force_n or_o penalty_n outward_o therefore_o man_n do_v but_o labour_n in_o vain_a for_o he_o can_v neither_o kill_v nor_o cure_v the_o soul_n but_o the_o lord_n who_o we_o fear_v have_v power_n and_o be_v able_a to_o kill_v and_o to_o make_v alive_a and_o because_o we_o fear_v he_o more_o than_o man_n therefore_o we_o choose_v to_o obey_v he_o rather_o than_o man_n and_o to_o meet_v in_o god_n fear_n and_o this_o be_v our_o condition_n let_v the_o sober-hearted_n judge_n how_o can_v we_o deny_v the_o lord_n who_o have_v all_o power_n and_o have_v quicken_v we_o and_o redeem_v our_o soul_n from_o death_n and_o go_v to_o obey_v man_n contrary_a to_o christ_n doctrine_n who_o have_v no_o power_n over_o the_o soul._n sure_o as_o we_o stand_v in_o god_n fear_n and_o counsel_n we_o may_v not_o do_v this_o evil_a and_o sin_n against_o our_o god._n 3._o again_o we_o meet_v together_o to_o wait_v upon_o the_o lord_n because_o god_n have_v make_v it_o manifest_v to_o we_o and_o persuade_v
year_n we_o say_v man_n be_v not_o true_a christian_n by_o generation_n neither_o by_o a_o outward_a profession_n but_o by_o a_o inward_a change_n in_o the_o heart_n wrought_v by_o the_o power_n of_o god_n in_o the_o regeneration_n and_o so_o if_o it_o be_v but_o a_o few_o year_n in_o comparison_n since_o we_o or_o any_o of_o we_o be_v change_v and_o turn_v to_o the_o lord_n yet_o it_o be_v in_o the_o time_n when_o the_o lord_n be_v please_v and_o see_v good_a to_o visit_v we_o and_o we_o can_v true_o say_v it_o be_v a_o acceptable_a day_n and_o time_n when_o we_o be_v turn_v from_o but_o yesterday_o that_o any_o of_o we_o be_v renew_v in_o the_o spirit_n of_o our_o mind_n to_o god_n for_o it_o be_v matter_n of_o joy_n to_o we_o that_o the_o lord_n have_v gather_v we_o in_o our_o day_n and_o time_n from_o off_o the_o barren_a mountain_n into_o his_o fold_n to_o wait_v upon_o he_o and_o to_o receive_v teach_v and_o satisfaction_n from_o he_o this_o be_v far_o more_o to_o we_o to_o know_v the_o lord_n change_v we_o in_o our_o day_n and_o bring_v we_o to_o know_v the_o thing_n that_o pertain_v to_o our_o everlasting_a peace_n than_o to_o have_v a_o large_a profession_n of_o the_o saint_n word_n and_o yet_o to_o be_v out_o of_o the_o saint_n life_n and_o out_o of_o the_o way_n where_o true_a peace_n and_o rest_n be_v find_v to_o the_o soul_n and_o so_o the_o lord_n have_v manifest_v his_o truth_n to_o we_o and_o bring_v we_o into_o the_o religion_n in_o which_o he_o manifest_v his_o presence_n to_o we_o we_o be_v content_a to_o wait_v in_o the_o will_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o may_v not_o forsake_v our_o religion_n nor_o the_o assemble_v of_o ourselves_o together_o because_o man_n say_v to_o the_o contrary_a but_o walk_v according_a to_o the_o gift_n of_o god_n by_o which_o only_o it_o be_v that_o true_a and_o faithful_a service_n be_v perform_v unto_o he_o 4._o again_o we_o meet_v together_o to_o wait_v upon_o the_o lord_n that_o our_o conscience_n may_v be_v keep_v clear_a towards_o he_o that_o we_o may_v have_v the_o answer_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n towards_o god_n which_o if_o we_o shall_v walk_v contrary_a to_o that_o which_o the_o lord_n have_v make_v manifest_a here_o will_v be_v shipwreck_n of_o faith_n and_o a_o good_a conscience_n for_o so_o it_o be_v former_o if_o any_o forsake_v the_o lord_n and_o his_o truth_n after_o they_o have_v taste_v of_o his_o good_a word_n if_o they_o fall_v away_o from_o that_o which_o they_o have_v once_o know_v and_o profess_v of_o the_o truth_n and_o gospel_n of_o jesus_n they_o make_v shipwreck_n of_o faith_n and_o a_o good_a conscience_n and_o then_o they_o can_v not_o have_v the_o answer_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n neither_o have_v they_o peace_n with_o god_n and_o what_o remain_v if_o they_o continue_v so_o but_o a_o certain_a fearful_a look_v for_o of_o judgement_n and_o fiery_a indignation_n which_o will_v devour_v and_o therefore_o we_o know_v the_o preciousness_n of_o the_o answer_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n towards_o god_n do_v prize_v it_o and_o esteem_v it_o as_o a_o jewel_n of_o great_a worth_n and_o we_o may_v not_o forsake_v the_o way_n of_o the_o lord_n wherein_o we_o have_v the_o answer_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n because_o of_o outward_a force_n and_o go_v into_o that_o in_o which_o we_o shall_v suffer_v anguish_n and_o have_v a_o certain_a fearful_a look_v for_o of_o judgement_n and_o a_o sting_n in_o our_o own_o conscience_n therefore_o we_o can_v put_v it_o to_o all_o who_o fear_v the_o lord_n to_o judge_v of_o if_o it_o be_v not_o safe_a for_o we_o to_o abide_v in_o the_o way_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o to_o be_v faithful_a to_o he_o though_o we_o may_v meet_v with_o suffering_n in_o this_o world._n 5._o again_o we_o meet_v together_o in_o the_o fear_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o own_o the_o doctrine_n of_o christ_n to_o live_v in_o it_o because_o we_o be_v persuade_v in_o the_o fear_n and_o power_n of_o the_o lord_n god_n of_o life_n who_o be_v our_o strength_n that_o nothing_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o separate_v we_o from_o the_o love_n of_o god_n which_o we_o have_v in_o christ_n jesus_n our_o lord_n the_o love_n of_o god_n be_v so_o comfortable_a and_o his_o favour_n be_v so_o refresh_v to_o we_o and_o the_o testimony_n of_o his_o spirit_n be_v so_o satisfactory_a in_o our_o heart_n that_o we_o be_v persuade_v nothing_o will_v be_v able_a to_o separate_v we_o our_o strength_n be_v in_o the_o lord_n and_o he_o be_v all-sufficient_a to_o keep_v we_o through_o all_o by_o his_o mighty_a power_n unto_o the_o end_n wait_v upon_o he_o and_o abide_v in_o his_o power_n he_o be_v able_a to_o save_v to_o the_o uttermost_a and_o this_o be_v the_o saint_n former_o persuade_v off_o that_o nothing_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o separate_v they_o from_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o they_o meet_v with_o many_o hardship_n and_o be_v oftentimse_n cruel_o entreat_v and_o shameful_o handle_v as_o the_o scripture_n declare_v yet_o through_o all_o the_o lord_n be_v with_o his_o people_n and_o comfort_v their_o heart_n in_o their_o follow_v of_o he_o and_o the_o love_n of_o god_n abound_v to_o they_o and_o in_o they_o and_o they_o be_v conqueror_n through_o he_o that_o love_v they_o now_o if_o any_o at_o that_o time_n deny_v the_o truth_n for_o fear_n of_o man_n or_o any_o other_o thing_n they_o come_v to_o suffer_v in_o their_o heart_n and_o to_o feel_v sorrow_n in_o their_o inward_a man_n for_o when_o iniquity_n enter_v into_o the_o heart_n it_o darken_v the_o understanding_n and_o also_o the_o creature_n lose_v the_o sense_n of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o if_o there_o be_v not_o repentance_n and_o a_o return_v unto_o the_o lord_n iniquity_n grow_v more_o strong_a and_o love_n grow_v cold_a in_o such_o and_o the_o heart_n grow_v worse_a and_o worse_o and_o be_v harden_v by_o degree_n against_o the_o lord_n and_o his_o people_n and_o then_o there_o be_v a_o separation_n from_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o the_o feel_n and_o earnest_n of_o sorrow_n and_o tribulation_n upon_o every_o one_o that_o do_v evil_a therefore_o we_o be_v persuade_v that_o it_o be_v safe_a for_o we_o to_o wait_v upon_o the_o lord_n in_o the_o way_n which_o he_o have_v make_v manifest_a unto_o we_o that_o so_o we_o may_v receive_v the_o power_n to_o renew_v our_o strength_n that_o we_o may_v walk_v on_o in_o the_o path_n of_o life_n and_o nothing_o separate_v we_o from_o the_o love_n of_o god_n which_o we_o have_v in_o christ_n jesus_n shall_v tribulation_n or_o affliction_n or_o principality_n or_o power_n separate_v we_o from_o the_o love_n of_o god_n shall_v force_n by_o carnal_a weapon_n or_o prison_n cause_v we_o to_o deny_v that_o which_o god_n have_v make_v manifest_a unto_o we_o be_v there_o power_n against_o we_o throne_n against_o we_o well_o this_o be_v safe_a for_o we_o to_o abide_v in_o the_o counsel_n of_o god_n that_o we_o may_v always_o feel_v his_o love_n in_o our_o heart_n and_o if_o we_o suffer_v let_v we_o suffer_v here_o because_o of_o our_o faithfulness_n to_o the_o lord_n if_o we_o must_v go_v to_o prison_n let_v we_o stand_v in_o the_o power_n of_o god_n that_o his_o love_n and_o life_n blessing_n and_o heavenly_a presence_n may_v be_v with_o we_o better_a to_o suffer_v outward_o in_o prison_n and_o holes_n and_o have_v the_o love_n and_o presence_n of_o the_o lord_n with_o we_o then_o to_o disobey_v the_o lord_n and_o walk_v contrary_a to_o his_o gift_n and_o so_o suffer_v inward_a anguish_n and_o sorrow_n of_o heart_n and_o some_o thing_n separate_v we_o from_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o then_o who_o can_v speak_v peace_n to_o we_o if_o the_o lord_n speak_v trouble_v but_o if_o the_o lord_n speak_v peace_n it_o be_v no_o matter_n though_o man_n may_v speak_v trouble_n though_o the_o wrath_n of_o man_n may_v rise_v high_a yet_o he_o that_o do_v whatsoever_o he_o will_v in_o heaven_n and_o in_o earth_n he_o can_v make_v it_o to_o turn_v to_o his_o praise_n and_o the_o rest_n of_o it_o he_o will_v restrain_v and_o bless_v be_v they_o that_o have_v the_o lord_n with_o they_o on_o their_o side_n he_o speak_v peace_n be_v good_a to_o abide_v and_o not_o to_o give_v one_o foot_n back_o to_o give_v any_o ground_n unto_o the_o enemy_n but_o to_o continue_v where_o the_o love_n of_o god_n be_v with_o we_o and_o his_o bless_a presence_n with_o we_o comfort_v our_o heart_n which_o people_n do_v not_o find_v with_o they_o in_o disobedience_n walk_v and_o act_v contrary_a to_o what_o the_o lord_n have_v make_v manifest_a to_o they_o and_o so_o we_o can_v put_v it_o to_o the_o conscience_n of_o all_o people_n who_o have_v any_o sense_n of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n in_o their_o heart_n whether_o it_o can_v be_v safe_a for_o we_o to_o forsake_v the_o way_n of_o peace_n and_o rest_n which_o god_n have_v make_v manifest_a unto_o we_o and_o in_o which_o we_o have_v the_o love_n of_o god_n with_o we_o and_o to_o continue_v in_o the_o way_n of_o truth_n meet_v together_o in_o the_o fear_n of_o the_o lord_n to_o serve_v he_o because_o we_o find_v the_o lord_n require_v of_o we_o to_o bear_v a_o faithful_a testimony_n and_o witness_v to_o his_o name_n and_o truth_n which_o he_o have_v make_v know_v to_o we_o at_o this_o day_n and_o though_o man_n require_v the_o contrary_a and_o will_v force_v we_o to_o yield_v yet_o we_o may_v not_o deny_v the_o lord_n and_o his_o truth_n but_o must_v bear_v witness_n to_o his_o name_n in_o obedience_n to_o his_o will_n for_o we_o be_v not_o our_o own_o but_o the_o into_o their_o mouth_n they_o prepare_v war_n against_o they_o and_o sue_v they_o at_o law_n or_o agent_n for_o they_o and_o take_v treble_a damage_n as_o many_o can_v witness_v in_o these_o four_o northern_a country_n and_o so_o they_o oppress_v the_o righteous_a and_o none_o resist_v they_o and_o now_o it_o be_v come_v to_o you_o who_o be_v over_o the_o nation_n and_o it_o stand_v at_o your_o door_n and_o if_o you_o suffer_v those_o thing_n to_o be_v and_o count_v it_o just_a i_o will_v visit_v you_o for_o these_o thing_n say_v the_o lord_n for_o i_o bear_v testimony_n against_o they_o and_o my_o witness_n be_v true_a that_o they_o be_v cruel_a oppressor_n greedy_a devourer_n caterpillar_n who_o have_v do_v no_o good_a at_o all_o but_o keep_v the_o people_n in_o blindness_n and_o ignorance_n make_v they_o light_n and_o vain_a strenghning_n their_o hand_n in_o iniquity_n and_o shut_v the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n against_o man_n that_o if_o any_o will_v return_v from_o their_o evil_a way_n they_o will_v pull_v they_o back_o all_o the_o scripture_n witness_v against_o they_o if_o you_o will_v own_o scripture_n and_o that_o in_o your_o conscience_n witness_v against_o they_o for_o you_o have_v experience_n of_o they_o and_o if_o you_o hold_v up_o that_o which_o be_v contrary_a to_o your_o conscience_n god_n be_v great_a and_o will_v condemn_v you_o and_o cut_v you_o down_o be_v not_o your_o promise_n and_o covenant_n to_o take_v oppression_n from_o off_o the_o people_n of_o god_n have_v you_o forget_v the_o day_n of_o your_o calamity_n and_o hardship_n when_o you_o vow_v unto_o the_o lord_n and_o pray_v unto_o he_o and_o he_o have_v preserve_v you_o and_o be_v not_o all_o your_o pretence_n to_o take_v off_o oppression_n and_o now_o the_o power_n be_v in_o your_o hand_n and_o the_o lord_n have_v leave_v you_o without_o excuse_n for_o now_o you_o have_v time_n to_o pay_v your_o vow_n unto_o the_o lord_n and_o to_o take_v off_o oppression_n and_o to_o take_v away_o all_o those_o law_n which_o be_v contrary_a to_o the_o law_n of_o god_n which_o be_v pure_a and_o if_o you_o will_v not_o own_o the_o lord_n in_o his_o own_o work_n he_o will_v do_v it_o another_o way_n and_o you_o shall_v be_v cast_v by_o as_o not_o worthy_a with_o the_o rest_n that_o be_v cast_v out_o before_o you_o who_o be_v not_o worthy_a and_o therefore_o if_o you_o will_v own_v the_o righteous_a law_n of_o god_n which_o be_v pure_a he_o will_v own_v you_o and_o preserve_v you_o but_o if_o you_o uphold_v those_o law_n which_o be_v according_a to_o the_o will_n of_o man_n and_o contrary_a to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n you_o shall_v be_v as_o dust_n before_o the_o wind_n the_o mouth_n of_o the_o lord_n have_v speak_v it_o and_o thus_o i_o have_v clear_v my_o conscience_n unto_o you_o and_o that_o of_o god_n in_o your_o conscience_n shall_v eternal_o witness_v i_o to_o be_v a_o lover_n of_o your_o soul_n and_o of_o the_o righteous_a seed_n of_o god_n a_o wellwisher_a of_o the_o peace_n of_o zion_n call_v by_o the_o world._n j._n c._n i_o will_v arise_v now_o say_v the_o lord_n and_o thresh_v and_o scatter_v and_o beat_v to_o piece_n now_o will_v i_o arise_v say_v the_o lord_n and_o all_o bond_n must_v be_v break_v asunder_o which_o be_v make_v with_o the_o earthly_a will_n and_o all_o church_n gather_v with_o the_o earthly_a will_n with_o the_o letter_n who_o have_v not_o the_o life_n will_v be_v scatter_v and_o break_v asunder_o that_o the_o pure_a itself_o may_v arise_v which_o suffer_v those_o by_o bond_n which_o the_o carnal_a mind_n make_v law_n &_o invention_n must_v fall_v and_o all_o their_o counsel_n come_v to_o nothing_o in_o the_o end_n though_o they_o may_v stand_v and_o have_v their_o time_n a_o while_n and_o therefore_o to_o that_o in_o every_o one_o of_o your_o conscience_n i_o speak_v which_o be_v the_o light_n of_o christ_n in_o it_o wait_v to_o guide_v your_o mind_n to_o god_n and_o it_o be_v but_o one_o and_o it_o will_v call_v you_o out_o of_o your_o reason_n and_o turn_v your_o mind_n towards_o god_n and_o deny_v all_o that_o which_o do_v protect_v and_o preserve_v that_o which_o be_v not_o of_o god_n and_o condemn_v it_o and_o where_o god_n be_v make_v manifest_a to_o reign_v for_o that_o do_v protect_v the_o just_a and_o be_v a_o terror_n to_o the_o unjust_a in_o yourselves_o and_o without_o so_o wait_v all_o in_o your_o measure_n on_o the_o light_n of_o god_n within_o to_o guide_v your_o mind_n to_o god_n that_o you_o may_v grow_v as_o plant_n to_o receive_v the_o live_a water_n to_o nourish_v you_o to_o
