be_v the_o figure_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o therefore_o the_o apostle_n by_o great_a reason_n show_v that_o he_o to_o who_o the_o right_a of_o tithe_n by_o the_o law_n appertein_v be_v yet_o notwithstanding_o under_o melchisedech_n we_o must_v therefore_o from_o hence_o conclude_v that_o our_o lord_n and_o saviour_n jesus_n christ_n be_v far_o more_o excellent_a than_o ever_o be_v aaron_n or_o yet_o all_o his_o successor_n albeit_o they_o be_v in_o that_o respect_n separate_v as_o it_o be_v from_o the_o company_n of_o man_n and_o when_o the_o priest_n have_v all_o his_o priestly_a garment_n upon_o he_o it_o be_v but_o to_o show_v that_o he_o be_v as_o ●n_v angel_n of_o god_n which_o may_v come_v near_o unto_o his_o majesty_n be_v a_o mediator_n to_o blot_v ●ut_v the_o iniquity_n 10._o hrbr._n 8_o 9_o 10._o and_o transgression_n of_o the_o people_n and_o notwithstanding_o that_o all_o this_o be_v so_o yet_o nevertheless_o the_o apostle_n show_v that_o our_o lord_n and_o saviour_n jesus_n christ_n far_o excel_v he_o in_o honour_n and_o must_v be_v exalt_v above_o all_o the_o figure_n of_o the_o law_n that_o man_n thereby_o may_v see_v he_o to_o be_v the_o very_a truth_n and_o substance_n of_o they_o all_o and_o that_o although_o man_n do_v take_v all_o the_o shadow_n that_o ever_o be_v for_o a_o time_n yet_o shall_v they_o profit_v nothing_o and_o shall_v be_v all_o of_o none_o effect_n except_o they_o come_v to_o the_o true_a pattern_n let_v we_o therefore_o well_o consider_v that_o when_o abram_n offer_v all_o the_o tithe_n to_o melchisedech_n that_o it_o be_v to_o show_v that_o although_o god_n shall_v establish_v soon_o after_o a_o order_n of_o priesthood_n in_o his_o people_n yet_o that_o it_o do_v no_o whit_n derogate_v from_o the_o priesthood_n of_o our_o lord_n and_o saviour_n jesus_n christ_n which_o be_v already_o figure_v in_o the_o person_n of_o melchisedech_n as_o it_o be_v at_o that_o time_n already_o establish_v moreover_o as_o concern_v the_o give_n of_o tithe_n unto_o the_o priest_n we_o see_v that_o abran_n do_v it_o before_o there_o be_v any_o law_n write_v and_o therefore_o it_o be_v without_o all_o doubt_n that_o it_o be_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n which_o induce_v he_o and_o prick_v he_o forward_o thereunto_o for_o moses_n do_v not_o recite_v here_o this_o to_o be_v a_o thing_n do_v at_o rando●_n &_o without_o reason_n but_o rather_o declare_v that_o god_n ratify_v the_o office_n of_o melchisedech_n forsomuch_o as_o he_o mean_v to_o make_v he_o his_o priest_n and_o that_o abram_n acknowledge_v he_o to_o be_v so_o howbeit_o we_o must_v not_o from_o hence_o gather_v that_o there_o be_v any_o general_a law_n for_o the_o same_o ne_o yet_o that_o the_o faithful_a be_v bind_v to_o pay_v tithe_n except_o that_o god_n also_o have_v institute_v it_o in_o his_o law_n which_o be_v do_v not_o only_o because_o they_o shall_v honour_v he_o with_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o earth_n with_o protestation_n that_o they_o come_v all_o of_o his_o mere_a bounteous_a liberality_n neither_o be_v it_o simple_o for_o the_o maintenance_n of_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o altar_n that_o be_v to_o say_v for_o the_o maintenance_n of_o those_o that_o serve_v in_o the_o temple_n but_o because_o they_o come_v of_o the_o seed_n of_o abram_n so_o that_o one_o part_n of_o the_o land_n belong_v unto_o they_o who_o be_v to_o take_v possession_n thereof_o 12.7_o gen._n 12.7_o as_o it_o be_v say_v to_o abram_n thy_o seed_n shall_v possess_v the_o land_n levy_n shall_v have_v be_v a_o chief_a man_n successor_n be_v recompense_v with_o tithe_n now_o god_n do_v this_o for_o two_o reason_n the_o first_o be_v because_o they_o shall_v not_o be_v distract_v neither_o from_o the_o service_n which_o be_v commit_v to_o their_o charge_n ne_o yet_o from_o doctrine_n for_o god_n choose_v not_o the_o priest_n under_o the_o law_n for_o perform_v of_o the_o ceremony_n only_o but_o for_o another_o reason_n of_o which_o the_o prophet_n malachy_n speak_v 2.7_o mala._n 2.7_o that_o be_v he_o ordain_v they_o to_o be_v his_o ambassador_n to_o the_o end_n we_o shall_v demand_v from_o their_o lip_n the_o true_a knowledge_n &_o pure_a enterpretation_n of_o the_o law_n wherefore_o because_o the_o priest_n may_v have_v leisure_n enough_o to_o attend_v upon_o the_o service_n of_o the_o temple_n and_o to_o teach_v the_o people_n the_o tithe_n be_v appoint_v for_o they_o and_o for_o that_o cause_n also_o be_v they_o disperse_v all_o the_o country_n over_o they_o have_v no_o several_a and_o proper_a pertition_n to_o say_v that_o they_o may_v dwell_v in_o any_o one_o certain_a country_n as_o the_o rest_n do_v but_o be_v sow_v here_o and_o there_o to_o the_o end_n there_o shall_v be_v no_o corner_n in_o the_o world_n where_o god_n not_o will_v have_v his_o messenger_n &_o lawyer_n to_o keep_v his_o people_n in_o awe_n here_o i_o say_v we_o see_v the_o reason_n why_o god_n will_v have_v they_o to_o have_v the_o tithe_n and_o not_o busy_v themselves_o about_o till_v and_o sow_v of_o the_o earth_n the_o second_o reason_n be_v this_o that_o if_o they_o have_v possess_v the_o earth_n god_n have_v not_o be_v know_v to_o be_v lord_n and_o master_n as_o he_o be_v when_o as_o leviticall_a priest_n be_v become_v as_o it_o be_v his_o receiver_n and_o have_v send_v they_o in_o his_o name_n to_o take_v upon_o they_o the_o superiority_n &_o to_o demand_v the_o homage_n which_o be_v due_a unto_o he_o upon_o the_o earth_n and_o beside_o although_o the_o child_n of_o israel_n receive_v that_o which_o be_v due_a unto_o they_o by_o succession_n and_o inheritance_n of_o their_o father_n abram_n yet_o for_o all_o that_o god_n as_o it_o be_v will_v seem_v to_o show_v unto_o they_o that_o the_o earth_n be_v he_o &_o keep_v the_o propriety_n thereof_o unto_o himself_o &_o
