name_n of_o a_o new_a english_a gentleman_n may_v occasion_v many_o to_o think_v that_o new_a england_n also_o concur_v in_o the_o allowance_n of_o such_o exorbitant_a aberration_n they_o therefore_o judge_v it_o meet_v not_o to_o stay_v till_o the_o elder_n can_v be_v gather_v together_o but_o whilst_o the_o ship_n yet_o stay_v to_o declare_v their_o own_o judgement_n against_o the_o book_n and_o to_o send_v a_o copy_n of_o their_o declaration_n to_o england_n by_o the_o ship_n then_o ready_a to_o depart_v have_v the_o tenet_n therein_o seem_v to_o they_o to_o be_v matter_n either_o of_o doubtful_a disputation_n or_o of_o small_a moment_n we_o doubt_v not_o they_o will_v either_o not_o at_o all_o have_v declare_v themselves_o against_o the_o book_n or_o if_o they_o have_v they_o will_v have_v stay_v for_o some_o opportunity_n of_o previous_a consultation_n with_o the_o elder_n but_o some_o of_o the_o tenet_n seem_v to_o they_o so_o direct_o to_o shake_v the_o fundamental_o of_o religion_n and_o to_o wound_v the_o vital_n of_o christianity_n that_o they_o be_v many_o of_o they_o well_o verse_v both_o in_o the_o dogmatic_a and_o controversall_n point_v of_o divinity_n think_v it_o their_o duty_n to_o profess_v their_o orthodox_n faith_n against_o all_o destructive_a paradox_n and_o dangerous_a innovation_n vent_v from_o among_o ourselves_o for_o according_a as_o they_o believe_v they_o do_v also_o profess_v as_o ourselves_o likewise_o do_v that_o the_o obedience_n of_o christ_n to_o the_o whole_a law_n which_o be_v the_o law_n of_o righteousness_n be_v the_o matter_n of_o our_o justification_n and_o the_o imputation_n of_o our_o sin_n to_o christ_n and_o thereupon_o his_o suffering_n the_o sense_n of_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n upon_o he_o for_o our_o sin_n and_o the_o imputation_n of_o his_o obedience_n and_o suffering_n be_v the_o formal_a cause_n of_o our_o justification_n and_o that_o they_o that_o do_v deny_v this_o do_v now_o take_v away_o both_o these_o both_o the_o matter_n and_o the_o form_n of_o our_o justification_n as_o this_o book_n do_v and_o take_v away_o also_o our_o justification_n which_o be_v the_o life_n of_o our_o soul_n and_o of_o our_o religion_n and_o therefore_o call_v the_o justification_n of_o life_n rom_n 5.18_o as_o for_o the_o notion_n which_o you_o conceive_v he_o decline_v of_o infinite_a wrath_n we_o become_v of_o infinite_a value_n and_o efficacy_n for_o the_o satisfaction_n of_o god_n justice_n and_o transaction_n of_o our_o redemption_n thus_o much_o for_o the_o book_n now_o for_o the_o author_n of_o the_o book_n before_o your_o letter_n come_v to_o our_o hand_n the_o court_n deal_v favourable_o with_o he_o according_a to_o your_o desire_n before_o they_o know_v your_o desire_n they_o appoint_v three_o of_o our_o fellow_n elder_n and_o brethren_n all_o of_o they_o his_o friend_n and_o acquaintance_n such_o as_o himself_o choose_v to_o confer_v with_o he_o and_o find_v he_o yield_v in_o some_o main_a point_n which_o he_o express_v willing_o under_o his_o own_o hand_n the_o court_n ready_o accept_v the_o same_o as_o a_o fruit_n of_o his_o ingenuity_n and_o a_o pledge_n of_o more_o full_a satisfaction_n withal_o they_o give_v he_o a_o book_n pen_v at_o their_o appointment_n by_o our_o reverend_a brother_n mr_n norton_n in_o way_n of_o answer_n to_o all_o his_o ground_n which_o he_o thankful_o accept_v and_o promise_v upon_o a_o due_a perusal_n &_o consideration_n thereof_o to_o return_v further_a answer_n all_o which_o though_o it_o please_v god_n to_o
