from_o his_o sole_a irresistible_a power_n the_o truth_n or_o falsehood_n of_o which_o position_n will_v best_o appear_v by_o a_o few_o observation_n manifest_a almost_o by_o their_o own_o light_n as_o first_o that_o sovereignty_n dominion_n or_o lordship_n be_v a_o essential_a attribute_n of_o the_o deity_n for_o a_o be_v infinite_o perfect_a it_o be_v evident_a there_o can_v be_v without_o it_o the_o prime_a basis_n oâ—_n foundation_n therefore_o of_o this_o as_o of_o all_o the_o other_o attribute_n be_v lay_v in_o the_o divine_a essence_n itself_o yet_o manifest_v it_o be_v second_o that_o this_o sovereignty_n can_v be_v bring_v into_o act_n or_o exercise_n without_o the_o existence_n of_o something_o else_o beside_o god_n for_o he_o be_v not_o a_o sovereign_n over_o himself_o but_o over_o or_o unto_o other_o thing_n or_o person_n it_o must_v therefore_o be_v conclude_v three_o that_o this_o attribute_n be_v relative_a i._n e._n it_o include_v a_o relation_n or_o reference_n which_o god_n have_v to_o the_o person_n or_o thing_n whereof_o he_o be_v the_o sovereign_n and_o forasmuch_o as_o party_n relate_v have_v not_o their_o be_v as_o such_o the_o one_o before_o the_o other_o but_o both_o together_o it_o follow_v that_o in_o this_o relation_n between_o god_n and_o we_o we_o be_v as_o old_a as_o he_o and_o for_o this_o cause_n the_o next_o and_o immediate_a right_n of_o his_o sovereignty_n can_v arise_v from_o his_o sole_a irresistible_a power_n because_o that_o be_v positive_a and_o eternal_a it_o be_v long_o before_o we_o and_o be_v no_o hunger_n as_o do_v much_o weaken_v his_o body_n and_o breed_v great_a grievance_n and_o molestation_n to_o nature_n now_o in_o the_o throw_v and_o bitter_a pain_n of_o this_o hunger_n the_o devil_n assault_v he_o with_o a_o temptation_n to_o command_v that_o the_o stone_n be_v make_v bread_n never_o be_v temptation_n more_o cunning_o time_v than_o this_o when_o nature_n do_v not_o only_o begin_v encounter_n with_o our_o bless_a saviour_n he_o lay_v on_o his_o blow_n with_o all_o his_o may_v experience_n have_v teach_v he_o that_o it_o must_v be_v some_o extraordinary_a great_a matter_n that_o can_v move_v he_o who_o he_o then_o assail_v from_o strict_a obedience_n to_o god_n whereupon_o it_o seem_v he_o think_v it_o to_o no_o purpose_n to_o bid_v low_a for_o his_o disobedience_n and_o therefore_o he_o offer_v all_o perhaps_o more_o than_o he_o have_v to_o give_v viz._n all_o the_o 9_o kingdom_n of_o the_o world_n and_o the_o glory_n of_o they_o haddit_n thâ—re_o be_v any_o thing_n themselves_o above_o the_o power_n of_o fortune_n be_v not_o exempt_v from_o compassion_n 1â—7_n when_o they_o sâ—e_v the_o infirmity_n of_o other_o man_n and_o hear_v their_o complaint_n for_o it_o be_v a_o part_n of_o generosity_n to_o bear_v good_a will_n to_o every_o man_n but_o the_o sadness_n of_o this_o pity_n be_v not_o bitter_a and_o if_o not_o bitter_a then_o sure_o not_o grievous_a
