into_o my_o own_o heart_n that_o i_o be_v not_o able_a to_o manage_v such_o a_o condition_n a_o man_n desire_v greedy_o to_o gripe_v more_o perhaps_o than_o he_o be_v able_a to_o manage_v and_o so_o undo_v himself_o as_o country_n man_n do_v observe_v that_o if_o they_o do_v over-stock_n their_o land_n it_o will_v quick_o spoil_v they_o and_o so_o a_o wise_a husbandman_n that_o know_v how_o much_o his_o ground_n will_v bear_v he_o be_v not_o trouble_v that_o he_o have_v not_o so_o much_o stock_n as_o other_o why_o because_o he_o know_v he_o have_v not_o ground_n enough_o for_o so_o great_a a_o stock_n and_o that_o quiet_v he_o so_o many_o man_n and_o woman_n that_o know_v not_o their_o own_o heart_n they_o will_v fain_o have_v a_o prosperous_a estate_n as_o other_o have_v but_o if_o they_o know_v their_o own_o heart_n they_o will_v know_v that_o they_o be_v not_o able_a to_o manage_v it_o if_o one_o of_o your_o little_a child_n of_o three_o or_o four_o year_n old_a shall_v be_v cry_v for_o the_o coat_n of_o she_o that_o be_v twelve_o or_o fourteen_o year_n old_a and_o say_v why_o may_v not_o i_o have_v a_o coat_n as_o long_o as_o my_o sister_n if_o she_o have_v it_o will_v soon_o trip_v up_o her_o heel_n and_o break_v her_o face_n but_o when_o the_o child_n come_v to_o understanding_n she_o be_v not_o discontent_v because_o her_o coat_n be_v not_o so_o long_o as_o her_o sister_n but_o say_v my_o coat_n be_v fit_a for_o i_o and_o therein_o take_v content_a so_o if_o we_o come_v to_o understanding_n in_o the_o school_n of_o christ_n we_o will_v not_o cry_v why_o have_v not_o i_o such_o a_o estate_n as_o other_o have_v the_o lord_n see_v that_o i_o be_o not_o able_a to_o manage_v it_o and_o i_o see_v it_o myself_o by_o the_o know_n of_o my_o own_o heart_n you_o shall_v have_v child_n if_o they_o see_v but_o a_o knife_n they_o will_v cry_v for_o it_o because_o they_o know_v not_o their_o strength_n and_o that_o they_o be_v not_o able_a to_o to_o bear_v prosperous_a condition_n and_o not_o to_o do_v themselves_o hurt_v there_o be_v a_o fourfold_a burden_n in_o a_o prosperous_a estate_n many_o man_n and_o woman_n look_v at_o the_o shine_n and_o glitter_a of_o prosperity_n but_o they_o little_o think_v of_o the_o burden_n but_o there_o be_v a_o fourfold_a burden_n 1._o there_o be_v aburden_v of_o trouble_n a_o rose_n have_v its_o of_o the_o duty_n before_o many_o man_n when_o they_o hear_v of_o a_o duty_n they_o shall_v perform_v they_o will_v labour_v to_o perform_v it_o but_o first_o you_o must_v be_v humble_v for_o the_o be_v from_o this_o grace_n of_o contentment_n that_o have_v be_v open_v to_o i_o i_o have_v have_v a_o murmur_a a_o vex_a and_o fret_a heart_n within_o i_o every_o little_a cross_n have_v put_v i_o out_o of_o temper_n and_o out_o of_o frame_n oh_o the_o boisterousness_n of_o my_o spirit_n what_o a_o deal_n of_o evil_n do_v god_n see_v in_o my_o heart_n in_o the_o vex_a and_o fret_v of_o my_o corrupt_a his_o blood_n and_o flesh_n be_v corrupt_a that_o every_o scratch_n of_o a_o pin_n shall_v make_v it_o rankle_v so_o it_o be_v in_o thy_o spirit_n if_o every_o little_a trouble_n and_o affliction_n shall_v make_v thou_o discontent_v and_o make_v thou_o murmur_v and_o even_o cause_v thy_o spirit_n within_o thou_o to_o rankle_v or_o as_o it_o be_v in_o a_o wound_n of_o a_o man_n body_n the_o evil_a of_o a_o wound_n it_o be_v not_o so_o much_o in_o the_o largeness_n of_o the_o wound_n and_o in_o the_o abundance_n of_o blood_n that_o come_v out_o of_o the_o wound_n but_o in_o the_o inflammation_n that_o there_o be_v in_o it_o or_o in_o a_o fret_a and_o corrode_a humour_n that_o be_v in_o the_o wound_n a_o unskilful_a man_n when_o he_o come_v and_o see_v a_o large_a wound_n in_o the_o flesh_n look_v upon_o it_o as_o a_o dangerous_a wound_n and_o when_o he_o see_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o blood_n gush_v out_o he_o think_v these_o be_v the_o evil_n of_o it_o but_o when_o a_o chirurgeon_n come_v and_o see_v a_o great_a gash_n say_v he_o this_o will_v be_v heal_v within_o a_o few_o day_n but_o there_o be_v a_o less_o wound_n and_o there_o be_v a_o inflammation_n or_o a_o fret_a humour_n that_o be_v in_o it_o and_o this_o will_v cost_v time_n say_v he_o to_o cure_v so_o that_o he_o do_v not_o lay_v balsom_a and_o heal_a salve_n upon_o it_o but_o his_o great_a care_n be_v to_o get_v out_o the_o fret_a humour_n or_o inflammation_n so_o that_o the_o thing_n that_o must_v heal_v this_o wound_n it_o be_v some_o drink_n to_o purge_v but_o say_v the_o patient_a what_o good_a will_v this_o do_v to_o my_o wound_n you_o give_v i_o somewhat_o to_o drink_v and_o my_o wound_n be_v in_o my_o arm_n or_o in_o my_o leg_n what_o good_a will_v this_o do_v that_o i_o great_a trouble_n there_o be_v a_o affliction_n upon_o thou_o and_o that_o be_v grievous_a but_o there_o be_v a_o murmur_a heart_n within_o that_o be_v more_o grievous_a oh_o that_o we_o can_v but_o convince_v man_n and_o woman_n that_o a_o murmur_a spirit_n be_v a_o great_a evil_n than_o any_o affliction_n let_v the_o affliction_n be_v what_o it_o will_v be_v we_o shall_v show_v more_o of_o his_o spirit_n have_v i_o upon_o i_o that_o can_v find_v no_o rest_n at_o all_o twelve_o murmur_a and_o discontent_a have_v this_o evil_a in_o it_o there_o be_v a_o absolute_a necessity_n that_o thou_o shall_v have_v disquiet_v all_o the_o day_n of_o thy_o life_n as_o if_o a_o man_n that_o be_v in_o a_o great_a crowd_n shall_v complain_v that_o other_o folk_n touch_v he_o while_o we_o be_v in_o this_o world_n god_n have_v so_o order_v thing_n that_o affliction_n must_v befall_v we_o and_o if_o we_o will_v complain_v and_o be_v discontent_v upon_o every_o cross_n and_o affliction_n we_o must_v complain_v and_o be_v discontent_n all_o the_o day_n of_o our_o life_n yea_o god_n in_o just_a judgement_n will_v let_v thing_n fall_v out_o on_o purpose_n to_o vex_v those_o that_o have_v vex_v spirit_n and_o discontent_a heart_n and_o therefore_o there_o be_v a_o necessity_n that_o they_o shall_v live_v disquiet_v all_o their_o day_n and_o man_n will_v not_o much_o care_n to_o disquiet_v those_o that_o be_v continual_o murmur_v oh_o they_o will_v have_v disquiet_v all_o their_o day_n last_o there_o be_v this_o dreadful_a evil_n in_o discontent_n and_o murmur_a god_n may_v just_o with_o draw_v his_o care_n of_o you_o and_o his_o protection_n over_o you_o see_v god_n can_v please_v you_o in_o his_o administration_n we_o use_v to_o say_v so_o to_o discontent_a servant_n nay_o if_o you_o be_v not_o please_v mend_v yourselves_o when_o you_o will_v if_o you_o have_v a_o servant_n not_o content_a with_o his_o diet_n and_o wage_n and_o work_v you_o say_v mend_v yourselves_o so_o may_v god_n just_o say_v to_o we_o we_o that_o profess_v ourselves_o servant_n to_o he_o to_o be_v in_o his_o work_n and_o yet_o be_v discontent_v with_o this_o thing_n or_o that_o in_o god_n family_n god_n may_v just_o say_v mend_v yourselves_o what_o if_o god_n shall_v say_v to_o any_o of_o you_o if_o my_o care_n over_o you_o do_v not_o please_v you_o then_o take_v care_n of_o yourselves_o if_o my_o protection_n over_o you_o will_v not_o please_v you_o then_o protect_v yourselves_o now_o all_o thing_n that_o do_v befall_v you_o befall_v you_o through_o a_o providence_n of_o god_n and_o if_o you_o be_v those_o that_o belong_v to_o god_n there_o be_v a_o protection_n of_o god_n over_o you_o and_o a_o care_n of_o god_n now_o if_o god_n shall_v say_v well_o you_o shall_v not_o have_v the_o benefit_n of_o my_o protection_n any_o long_o and_o i_o will_v take_v no_o further_o care_n of_o you_o will_v not_o this_o be_v a_o most_o dreadful_a judgement_n of_o god_n from_o that_o behold_v they_o may_v say_v that_o they_o live_v as_o if_o god_n have_v cast_v off_o his_o care_n over_o they_o and_o as_o if_o god_n do_v not_o care_v what_o befall_v they_o now_o then_o my_o brethren_n put_v all_o these_o together_o all_o that_o we_o be_v speak_v of_o the_o last_o day_n and_o these_o particular_n that_o have_v be_v add_v now_o this_o morning_n for_o the_o set_n out_o of_o a_o murmur_a and_o discontent_a spirit_n oh_o what_o a_o ugly_a face_n have_v this_o sin_n of_o murmur_a and_o discontentedness_n oh_o what_o cause_n be_v there_o that_o we_o shall_v lay_v our_o hand_n upon_o our_o heart_n and_o go_v away_o and_o be_v humble_v before_o the_o lord_n because_o of_o this_o whereas_o your_o thought_n be_v wont_a to_o be_v exercise_v about_o provide_v for_o yourselves_o and_o get_v more_o comfort_n to_o yourselves_o let_v the_o stream_n of_o your_o thought_n now_o be_v turn_v to_o humble_v yourselves_o for_o your_o discontentedness_n oh_o that_o you_o may_v have_v your_o heart_n break_v before_o god_n for_o otherwise_o you_o shall_v fall_v to_o it_o again_o oh_o the_o wretchedness_n of_o man_n heart_n you_o will_v find_v in_o scripture_n concern_v the_o people_n of_o israel_n how_o strange_o they_o fall_v to_o their_o murmur_v again_o and_o again_o do_v but_o observe_v three_o text_n of_o scripture_n for_o that_o the_o first_o in_o the_o 15._o of_o exod._n at_o the_o beginning_n there_o you_o shall_v have_v moses_n and_o the_o congregation_n sing_v to_o god_n and_o blessing_n god_n for_o his_o mercy_n then_o sing_v moses_n and_o the_o child_n of_o israel_n this_o song_n unto_o the_o lord_n and_o speak_v say_v i_o will_v sing_v unto_o the_o lord_n for_o he_o have_v triumph_v glorious_o the_o horse_n and_o his_o rider_n have_v he_o and_o the_o more_o abundant_a the_o mercy_n be_v that_o we_o enjoy_v the_o great_a and_o the_o vile_a be_v the_o sin_n of_o murmur_a as_o here_o now_o when_o god_n have_v new_o deliver_v they_o out_o of_o the_o house_n of_o bondage_n for_o they_o now_o to_o murmur_v because_o they_o want_v some_o few_o particular_n that_o they_o desire_v oh_o to_o sin_n against_o god_n after_o a_o

this_o day_n of_o grace_n and_o salvation_n continue_v to_o you_o it_o be_v a_o great_a mercy_n than_o any_o affliction_n set_v any_o affliction_n by_o this_o mercy_n and_o see_v which_o will_v weigh_v heavy_a this_o be_v certain_o great_a than_o any_o affliction_n that_o you_o have_v the_o day_n of_o grace_n and_o salvation_n that_o you_o be_v not_o now_o in_o hell_n this_o be_v a_o great_a mercy_n that_o you_o have_v the_o sound_n of_o the_o gospel_n yet_o in_o your_o ear_n that_o you_o have_v the_o use_n of_o your_o reason_n this_o be_v a_o great_a mercy_n than_o your_o affliction_n that_o you_o have_v the_o use_n of_o your_o limb_n your_o sense_n that_o you_o have_v the_o health_n of_o your_o body_n health_n of_o body_n be_v a_o great_a mercy_n than_o poverty_n be_v a_o affliction_n there_o be_v no_o man_n that_o be_v rich_a but_o if_o he_o be_v wise_a if_o he_o have_v a_o sickly_a body_n he_o will_v part_v with_o all_o his_o riches_n that_o he_o may_v have_v his_o health_n therefore_o thy_o mercy_n be_v more_o than_o thy_o affliction_n we_o find_v in_o scripture_n how_o the_o holy_a ghost_n do_v aggravate_v the_o sin_n of_o discontent_n from_o the_o man_n be_v not_o so_o sensible_a now_o of_o his_o dependence_n upon_o god_n he_o begin_v now_o to_o pay_v less_o toll_n and_o custom_n to_o god_n than_o before_o god_n have_v less_o service_n from_o this_o man_n now_o than_o before_o god_n see_v it_o better_o for_o his_o people_n to_o live_v in_o a_o depend_v condition_n we_o be_v very_o loath_a in_o respect_n of_o god_n to_o be_v dependent_a we_o will_v be_v all_o independent_n this_o way_n we_o will_v be_v of_o ourselves_o and_o have_v no_o dependence_n upon_o the_o lord_n but_o god_n see_v it_o better_o for_o we_o to_o live_v in_o a_o depend_v condition_n further_o this_o may_v be_v thy_o comfort_n though_o for_o outward_a thing_n thou_o be_v mighty_o unsettle_a yet_o for_o the_o great_a thing_n of_o thy_o soul_n and_o eternal_a estate_n there_o thou_o be_v settle_v there_o thou_o have_v a_o settle_a way_n a_o constant_a way_n of_o fetch_v supply_n of_o his_o fullness_n we_o receive_v grace_n for_o grace_n thou_o have_v there_o abundance_n of_o treasure_n to_o go_v to_o and_o setch_v all_o that_o thou_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o and_o observe_v it_o that_o now_o thy_o condition_n be_v more_o settle_a in_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n than_o it_o be_v in_o the_o covenant_n of_o work_n in_o the_o covenant_n of_o work_n there_o god_n give_v man_n a_o stock_n to_o trade_n with_o but_o he_o put_v it_o in_o his_o own_o hand_n so_o that_o he_o may_v trade_v and_o get_v or_o lose_v but_o now_o in_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n god_n make_v sure_a the_o stock_n be_v keep_v in_o the_o hand_n of_o christ_n and_o we_o must_v go_v to_o he_o for_o supply_v continual_o for_o christ_n keep_v the_o stock_n perhaps_o we_o may_v trifle_v away_o somewhat_o in_o our_o trade_n but_o god_n take_v that_o care_n still_o we_o shall_v never_o spend_v the_o stock_n as_o a_o man_n when_o his_o son_n break_v have_v squander_v away_o his_o stock_n that_o he_o give_v he_o before_o afterward_o he_o put_v his_o stock_n into_o a_o friend_n hand_n and_z say_v he_o you_o shall_v keep_v this_o stock_n and_o it_o shall_v not_o be_v at_o his_o dispose_n so_o we_o be_v in_o a_o more_o settle_a condition_n in_o respect_n of_o five_o or_o six_o hundred_o a_o year_n but_o now_o have_v have_v nothing_o for_o a_o great_a while_n if_o that_o man_n have_v not_o be_v bear_v to_o so_o much_o or_o never_o have_v prosper_v in_o any_o high_a degree_n than_o now_o he_o be_v in_o this_o affliction_n have_v be_v less_o perhaps_o he_o have_v some_o money_n and_o friend_n to_o live_v upon_o but_o if_o he_o have_v never_o be_v in_o a_o high_a condition_n he_o will_v not_o have_v account_v it_o so_o great_a a_o matter_n to_o have_v be_v without_o it_o now_o this_o many_o time_n be_v our_o great_a wound_n that_o once_o we_o be_v in_o a_o better_a condition_n and_o this_o be_v the_o most_o unreasonable_a thing_n for_o we_o to_o murmur_v upon_o this_o ground_n of_o any_o for_o first_o be_v thy_o eye_n evil_a because_o god_n have_v be_v good_a to_o thou_o heretofore_o it_o be_v a_o ill_a thing_n for_o we_o to_o have_v our_o eye_n evil_a because_o god_n be_v good_a to_o other_o but_o to_o look_v upon_o our_o condition_n with_o a_o evil_a eye_n now_o because_o god_n be_v once_o good_a to_o we_o have_v god_n do_v thou_o any_o wrong_n because_o he_o be_v former_o more_o good_a to_o thou_o than_o he_o be_v to_o other_o
