not_o by_o the_o will_n pleasure_n and_o bounty_n of_o man_n but_o by_o a_o tenure_n from_o god_n a_o rent_n which_o he_o charge_v upon_o all_o the_o land_n immediate_o without_o any_o restriction_n lessen_v or_o subduction_n upon_o the_o whole_a matter_n the_o apostle_n subjoin_v and_o peremptory_o conclude_v even_o so_o have_v the_o lord_n ordain_v etc._n etc._n 1._o that_o which_o be_v the_o equity_n of_o god_n will_n his_o divine_a pleasure_n both_o for_o matter_n and_o manner_n for_o quantity_n and_o quality_n in_o point_n of_o minister_n maintenance_n under_o the_o gospel_n be_v there_o sufficient_o declare_v you_o need_v go_v no_o further_o for_o god_n direction_n both_o the_o end_n and_o mean_n hold_v parallel_n to_o that_o former_a it_o be_v still_o god_n ministry_n and_o so_o have_v his_o right_n to_o his_o portion_n what_o he_o then_o ordain_v he_o still_o ordain_v that_o even_o upon_o the_o same_o certainty_n and_o proportion_n such_o as_o preach_v the_o gospel_n as_o of_o duty_n office_n and_o authority_n shall_v live_v of_o the_o gospel_n upon_o such_o a_o portion_n at_o least_o of_o other_o man_n increase_n or_o revenue_n as_o the_o lord_n former_o require_v and_o still_o do_v to_o himself_o as_o god_n and_o to_o his_o son_n christ_n who_o he_o have_v anoint_v to_o be_v king_n and_o priest_n now_o in_o his_o church_n who_o ministry_n and_o minister_n must_v even_o so_o be_v maintain_v 2._o even_o so_o not_o as_o to_o all_o particular_n proper_o levitical_a which_o be_v cease_v namely_o the_o sacrifice_n and_o legal_a oblation_n but_o so_o far_o as_o the_o ten_o of_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o earth_n still_o continue_v and_o hold_v good_a to_o like_o holy_a end_n though_o under_o different_a ministration_n 3._o even_o so_o that_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n shall_v enjoy_v no_o less_o liberal_a honourable_a settle_a maintenance_n than_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o altar_n have_v not_o of_o courtesy_n give_v but_o out_o of_o conscience_n pay_v not_o of_o alm_n but_o of_o equity_n not_o necessiton_n not_o arbitrary_a but_o ample_a and_o permanent_a 4._o even_o so_o have_v the_o lord_n ordain_v id_fw-la est_fw-la the_o will_n of_o god_n in_o this_o point_n foresee_v the_o hardness_n and_o narrowness_n of_o menâ—_n heart_n which_o may_v happen_v under_o the_o gospel_n ministry_n towâ—â—d_v theiâ—_n minister_n have_v in_o their_o behalf_n declare_v of_o old_a and_o do_v now_o by_o i_o a_o apostle_n of_o christ_n renew_v it_o as_o a_o ordinance_n of_o god_n enact_v wâ—th_v majesty_n and_o divine_a authority_n show_v that_o as_o the_o lord_n do_v not_o expect_v that_o man_n will_v be_v better_a nature_a under_o the_o gospel_n or_o more_o large_a heart_a than_o before_o and_o as_o the_o lord_n have_v not_o less_o care_n or_o regard_n of_o his_o evangelical_n minister_n than_o of_o the_o levitical_a so_o that_o he_o have_v in_o no_o sort_n leave_v their_o maintenance_n now_o to_o those_o loose_a and_o general_a in_o d_o fferency_n liberty_n and_o confusion_n which_o the_o covetous_a heart_n of_o man_n be_v pr_v one_o to_o fall_v into_o in_o thing_n of_o religion_n if_o they_o fall_v under_o their_o own_o will_n and_o choice_n which_o in_o this_o case_n must_v not_o be_v suppose_v that_o the_o lord_n have_v do_v for_o that_o be_v not_o even_o so_o but_o will_v differ_v as_o much_o as_o the_o tenure_n of_o owner_n to_o their_o land_n or_o revenue_n and_o of_o poor_a man_n to_o their_o charity_n or_o alm_n 5._o even_o so_o to_o come_v short_a then_o of_o that_o proportion_n so_o far_o as_o in_o god_n providence_n and_o bounty_n it_o still_o hold_v not_o to_o give_v to_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n as_o be_v give_v to_o the_o minister_n at_o the_o altar_n be_v it_o not_o to_o violate_v god_n ordinance_n sure_o it_o be_v not_o fulfil_v of_o any_o donor_n bountiful_a will_n and_o command_v who_o bid_v you_o so_o give_v to_o a_o second_o as_o to_o the_o first_o if_o have_v by_o precise_a appointment_n as_o of_o due_a and_o necessity_n give_v twenty_o shilling_n to_o the_o former_a you_o give_v only_o as_o of_o charity_n and_o with_o brow_n or_o insolency_n but_o one_o shilling_n or_o penny_n or_o nothing_o at_o all_o of_o that_o deposit_v bounty_n to_o the_o second_o to_o who_o the_o giver_n not_o only_o intend_v but_o clear_o command_v shall_v be_v do_v even_o so_o as_o to_o the_o first_o 6._o even_o so_o have_v the_o lord_n ordain_v as_o if_o the_o holy_a apostle_n have_v say_v you_o as_o christian_n now_o under_o another_o easy_a and_o more_o excellent_a ministry_n as_o to_o the_o outward_a charge_n and_o form_n though_o the_o same_o as_o to_o the_o substance_n jesus_n christ_n must_v not_o suffer_v covetous_a or_o parsimonious_a temptation_n to_o rise_v in_o your_o heart_n as_o a_o root_n of_o bitterness_n so_o as_o to_o fancy_v that_o because_o the_o former_a subject_n of_o that_o law_n for_o maintenance_n by_o tithe_n namely_o the_o levitical_a ministry_n at_o the_o altar_n be_v change_v and_o cease_v therefore_o the_o equitable_a and_o moral_a bond_n be_v abrogate_a but_o though_o the_o letter_n cease_v to_o bind_v you_o upon_o those_o rate_n and_o charge_n to_o maintain_v a_o altar_n ministry_n yet_o as_o then_o the_o lord_n ordain_v a_o ingenuous_a ample_a and_o permanent_a provision_n part_n of_o which_o by_o tithe_n at_o least_o yet_o remain_v in_o your_o power_n so_o the_o justice_n of_o god_n will_v still_o continue_v and_o you_o be_v to_o follow_v
