unite_v in_o one_o in_o he_o eight_o further_n all_o our_o good_a shall_v be_v in_o continal_n act._n here_o we_o have_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o good_a in_o the_o habit_n but_o now_o when_o we_o come_v to_o have_v this_o immediate_a communion_n with_o christ_n there_o all_o our_o grace_n shall_v be_v act_v continual_o the_o sun_n you_o know_v how_o it_o do_v act_n the_o earth_n whatsoever_o there_o be_v in_o the_o earth_n it_o draw_v it_o forth_o and_o make_v it_o flourish_v so_o the_o presence_n of_o the_o sun_n of_o righteousness_n oh_o how_o glorious_o will_v it_o act_n all_o our_o grace_n in_o numb_a 17._o 7._o we_o read_v of_o aaron_n rod_n it_o blossom_a and_o the_o text_n say_v it_o blossom_v before_o the_o lord_n when_o the_o soul_n of_o the_o saint_n shall_v be_v before_o the_o lord_n and_o be_v in_o the_o presence_n of_o the_o lord_n christ_n o_o they_o shall_v blossom_n and_o flourish_n and_o all_o their_o grace_n shall_v flourish_n in_o a_o most_o glorious_a manner_n nine_o and_o then_o last_o we_o shall_v enjoy_v what_o be_v in_o christ_n without_o any_o intermission_n what_o be_v the_o reason_n of_o any_o intermission_n here_o but_o something_o that_o come_v between_o christ_n and_o our_o soul_n but_o now_o when_o there_o shall_v be_v nothing_o between_o christ_n and_o the_o soul_n than_o there_o will_v be_v no_o intermission_n that_o sweetness_n and_o comfort_n thou_o have_v in_o communion_n with_o christ_n at_o any_o time_n thou_o shall_v have_v it_o at_o all_o time_n and_o how_o good_a be_v that_o o_o say_v many_o a_o soul_n can_v i_o have_v but_o the_o communion_n with_o christ_n at_o all_o time_n as_o i_o have_v at_o some_o time_n o_o that_o will_v be_v comfortable_a now_o when_o the_o soul_n have_v immediate_a communion_n with_o christ_n it_o shall_v have_v it_o at_o all_o time_n what_o be_v the_o reason_n of_o eclipse_n it_o be_v the_o interposition_n between_o the_o moon_n and_o the_o sun_n or_o some_o interposition_n between_o the_o sun_n and_o we_o so_o our_o eclipse_n of_o the_o light_n that_o we_o have_v from_o christ_n it_o be_v some_o interposition_n take_v away_o the_o interposition_n and_o then_o there_o will_v be_v no_o intermission_n now_o put_v all_o these_o together_o and_o be_v it_o not_o gain_v to_o die_v and_o to_o be_v with_o christ_n now_o by_o way_n of_o use_n it_o be_v gain_n thus_o to_o be_v with_o christ_n hence_o then_o use_v if_o it_o be_v gain_n for_o one_o that_o do_v so_o much_o service_n for_o christ_n as_o paul_n do_v sure_o than_o those_o that_o be_v believer_n and_o be_v make_v little_a use_n of_o in_o any_o service_n for_o christ_n they_o will_v get_v by_o their_o death_n paul_n be_v a_o man_n that_o one_o will_v wonder_v how_o the_o church_n can_v spare_v he_o he_o do_v so_o much_o for_o christ_n and_o yet_o paul_n will_v get_v by_o death_n if_o thou_o be_v a_o believer_n thou_o shall_v have_v thy_o immediate_a communion_n with_o christ_n as_o paul_n have_v alas_o here_o while_o thou_o live_v thou_o have_v but_o little_a communion_n between_o christ_n and_o thou_o and_o do_v he_o but_o little_a service_n in_o the_o world_n then_o why_o shall_v you_o so_o much_o desire_v to_o live_v in_o the_o world_n that_o have_v nothing_o to_o countervail_v the_o trouble_n that_o you_o have_v and_o the_o sin_n that_o be_v commit_v in_o the_o world_n o_o sure_o it_o will_v be_v gain_n for_o you_o second_o hence_o it_o follow_v that_o it_o be_v a_o self-denial_n to_o a_o believer_n to_o be_v willing_a to_o live_v here_o in_o the_o world_n you_o will_v say_v if_o it_o be_v so_o much_o gain_n why_o shall_v any_o be_v so_o desirous_a to_o live_v it_o be_v this_o first_o nature_n will_v have_v its_o work_n though_o in_o their_o judgement_n they_o be_v convince_v that_o it_o be_v better_a to_o be_v with_o christ_n yet_o the_o body_n will_v be_v work_v and_o the_o affection_n will_v follow_v the_o body_n very_o much_o further_o though_o they_o be_v convince_v that_o it_o be_v gain_n yet_o god_n lay_v a_o tie_n upon_o they_o to_o preserve_v their_o life_n as_o long_o as_o they_o can_v here_o in_o this_o world_n in_o obedience_n to_o god_n they_o do_v desire_v to_o avoid_v danger_n and_o preserve_v their_o life_n it_o be_v not_o for_o they_o to_o be_v where_o it_o be_v best_o for_o they_o to_o be_v but_o to_o be_v where_o god_n will_v have_v they_o to_o be_v and_o therefore_o god_n do_v charge_v they_o to_o seek_v to_o preserve_v their_o life_n and_o to_o go_v on_o till_o he_o himself_o shall_v dissolve_v the_o body_n and_o soul_n it_o be_v god_n that_o be_v the_o lord_n of_o our_o life_n and_o as_o god_n give_v we_o our_o life_n so_o it_o be_v he_o that_o must_v take_v they_o away_o and_o not_o any_o body_n else_o but_o yet_o i_o say_v there_o be_v some_o self-denial_n in_o it_o we_o must_v look_v upon_o ourselves_o here_o as_o in_o a_o very_a low_a and_o mean_a condition_n in_o comparison_n of_o what_o we_o hope_v to_o be_v within_o a_o while_n after_o therefore_o observe_v this_o one_o note_n those_o that_o do_v believe_v the_o gain_n of_o death_n they_o have_v need_v labour_n what_o they_o can_v to_o countervail_v the_o forbearance_n of_o the_o gain_n by_o somewhat_o or_o other_o if_o a_o man_n have_v a_o great_a gain_n and_o it_o come_v not_o in_o his_o present_a possession_n he_o think_v what_o shall_v i_o have_v for_o my_o forbearance_n you_o will_v say_v what_o be_v it_o that_o any_o believer_n can_v have_v in_o lieu_n of_o his_o forbearance_n of_o that_o gain_n true_o the_o most_o excellent_a thing_n be_v this_o that_o he_o may_v do_v christ_n service_n while_o he_o live_v now_o then_o be_v that_o the_o main_a thing_n o_o learn_v from_o hence_o to_o be_v of_o as_o much_o use_n in_o your_o life_n as_o possible_o you_o can_v for_o you_o have_v nothing_o else_o to_o speak_v of_o in_o forbearance_n of_o that_o great_a gain_n why_o lord_n i_o expect_v to_o enjoy_v thou_o for_o ever_o before_o out_o of_o the_o great_a evil_n to_o bring_v light_a out_o of_o darkness_n yea_o to_o bring_v the_o great_a good_a out_o of_o the_o great_a evil_n i_o very_o believe_v that_o many_o of_o the_o people_n of_o god_n have_v find_v it_o so_o that_o the_o great_a blessing_n that_o ever_o they_o have_v have_v since_o they_o be_v bear_v have_v be_v usher_v in_o by_o the_o great_a affliction_n certain_o as_o the_o lord_n will_v not_o suffer_v sin_n in_o the_o world_n be_v it_o not_o for_o his_o infinite_a power_n to_o bring_v about_o good_a from_o the_o sin_n of_o man_n so_o neither_o will_v he_o suffer_v affliction_n in_o the_o world_n to_o his_o saint_n but_o that_o he_o know_v he_o have_v power_n enough_o to_o bring_v good_a to_o they_o even_o out_o of_o their_o great_a affliction_n it_o be_v the_o lord_n that_o have_v this_o power_n one_o will_v be_v loath_a to_o trust_v one_o self_n with_o one_o in_o any_o danger_n that_o can_v tell_v how_o to_o bring_v he_o
if_o you_o read_v the_o scripture_n from_o this_o place_n till_o you_o come_v to_o chap._n 42._o you_o shall_v find_v that_o god_n be_v manifest_v himself_o there_o and_o reveal_v himself_o in_o his_o yield_v up_o of_o the_o heart_n and_o when_o it_o be_v in_o a_o manner_n indifferent_a what_o way_n god_n will_v take_v then_o your_o heart_n be_v come_v to_o a_o right_a frame_n second_o the_o second_o thing_n that_o i_o will_v say_v to_o you_o be_v this_o that_o there_o be_v so_o great_a evil_n in_o sin_n and_o o_o that_o god_n will_v make_v it_o take_v as_o great_a a_o impression_n upon_o you_o as_o if_o one_o from_o the_o dead_a speak_v it_o as_o the_o least_o stop_v one_o in_o the_o way_n of_o sin_n the_o least_o abate_v the_o power_n of_o sin_n have_v so_o much_o good_a in_o it_o as_o it_o be_v enough_o to_o countervail_v the_o great_a evil_n in_o the_o great_a affliction_n in_o the_o world_n o_o this_o principle_n will_v be_v of_o mighty_a use_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o people_n when_o any_o affliction_n do_v befall_v they_o or_o their_o family_n but_o do_v god_n by_o this_o at_o least_o stop_v i_o in_o any_o way_n of_o sin_n do_v not_o god_n by_o this_o some_o way_n or_o other_o help_v i_o against_o some_o sin_n o_o then_o the_o affliction_n be_v well_o pay_v for_o i_o have_v now_o a_o great_a good_n abundant_o than_o the_o evil_n of_o the_o affliction_n come_v to_o there_o be_v a_o little_a bitter_a but_o here_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n more_o sweet_a three_o there_o be_v more_o good_a in_o any_o exercise_n of_o any_o grace_n than_o there_o be_v evil_a in_o the_o bear_n of_o any_o affliction_n if_o god_n do_v bring_v a_o affliction_n but_o for_o the_o exercise_n of_o any_o grace_n or_o for_o the_o stir_v up_o thy_o heart_n but_o to_o look_v towards_o he_o there_o may_v be_v more_o good_a in_o that_o than_o there_o be_v evil_a in_o any_o affliction_n perhaps_o thou_o be_v go_v up_o and_o down_o muddle_v in_o the_o world_n and_o thy_o thought_n be_v but_o little_a upon_o he_o before_o why_o if_o by_o affliction_n thou_o come_v but_o to_o look_v after_o god_n his_o be_v a_o great_a good_a than_o the_o evil_n of_o the_o affliction_n come_v to_o but_o if_o god_n bless_v thou_o so_o as_o thou_o come_v to_o exercise_n grace_n in_o it_o humility_n patience_n self-denial_n faith_n o_o here_o thy_o affliction_n be_v abundant_o make_v up_o oh_o labour_n therefore_o upon_o the_o consideration_n of_o this_o that_o it_o be_v the_o lord_n to_o submit_v humble_o to_o he_o this_o be_v acceptable_a to_o god_n suppose_v you_o have_v two_o child_n that_o be_v sick_a it_o may_v be_v one_o he_o riggle_v and_o keep_v a_o stir_n and_o will_v take_v nothing_o that_o you_o give_v he_o but_o now_o you_o have_v another_o child_n lie_v and_o he_o be_v sick_a too_o and_o he_o say_v father_n mother_n i_o will_v do_v what_o you_o will_v have_v i_o i_o will_v take_v what_o you_o will_v give_v i_o do_v but_o tell_v i_o what_o you_o will_v have_v do_v i_o will_v present_o do_v it_o though_o it_o be_v never_o so_o grievous_a and_o bitter_a i_o will_v take_v it_o now_o will_v it_o not_o make_v your_o heart_n relent_v towards_o such_o a_o child_n that_o shall_v be_v so_o yieldable_a will_v lie_v this_o way_n or_o that_o way_n take_v this_o thing_n or_o that_o thing_n and_o all_o because_o it_o come_v from_o a_o father_n if_o the_o child_n shall_v say_v to_o you_o it_o be_v true_a i_o be_o sick_a and_o ill_a but_o i_o know_v you_o love_v i_o and_o know_v what_o be_v better_a for_o i_o than_o i_o do_v and_o therefore_o i_o will_v take_v it_o will_v not_o this_o be_v very_o acceptable_a o_o this_o it_o be_v which_o the_o lord_n accept_v when_o his_o child_n do_v behave_v themselves_o so_o under_o his_o afct_a hand_n and_o my_o brethren_n this_o further_a help_n against_o a_o great_a many_o temptation_n when_o job_n do_v but_o say_v this_o the_o lord_n give_v and_o the_o lord_n take_v away_o let_v he_o do_v what_o seem_v that_o know_v but_o what_o this_o mean_n whether_o ever_o have_v you_o more_o comfort_n in_o all_o your_o life_n than_o at_o that_o time_n when_o you_o have_v be_v most_o afflict_a and_o yet_o bring_v your_o heart_n to_o this_o temper_n and_o disposition_n o_o therefore_o learn_v to_o work_v these_o thing_n upon_o your_o heart_n it_o be_v a_o easy_a matter_n for_o man_n and_o woman_n to_o speak_v
threaten_v sometime_o in_o the_o name_n of_o god_n now_o therefore_o that_o they_o may_v convince_v people_n that_o they_o aim_v only_o at_o good_a unto_o they_o in_o this_o therefore_o they_o must_v be_v of_o as_o love_v and_o gentle_a and_o quiet_a and_o patient_a spirit_n as_o possible_a may_v be_v especial_o in_o their_o own_o cause_n and_o that_o be_v the_o trial_n you_o sometime_o prehaps_o whether_o in_o all_o their_o deal_n else_o and_o in_o thing_n concern_v themselves_o whether_o they_o be_v not_o of_o love_v and_o gentle_a spirit_n and_o full_a of_o bowel_n of_o compassion_n and_o they_o must_v be_v of_o such_o disposition_n that_o they_o may_v win_v upon_o people_n and_o draw_v their_o heart_n as_o in_o hos_n 11._o 4._o i_o draw_v they_o with_o cord_n of_o a_o man_n and_o with_o the_o band_n of_o love_n and_o indeed_o this_o be_v one_o special_a reason_n why_o god_n send_v man_n to_o be_v the_o minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n rather_o than_o angel_n that_o there_o may_v sinner_n and_o god_n will_v outbid_v the_o world_n and_o devil_n and_o flesh_n what_o do_v they_o offer_v any_o thing_n that_o may_v delight_v you_o say_v god_n i_o will_v outbid_v they_o all_o christ_n out-bids_a the_o world_n and_o devil_n in_o offer_v unto_o sinner_n a_o great_a good_a than_o world_n or_o devil_n can_v possible_o bring_v unto_o they_o and_o indeed_o this_o offer_n of_o peace_n do_v outbid_v the_o world_n that_o be_v do_v proffer_v a_o great_a good_a to_o a_o sinner_n than_o world_n or_o devil_n can_v possible_o proffer_v to_o they_o nay_o then_o say_v the_o soul_n if_o i_o see_v that_o i_o may_v have_v a_o great_a good_a by_o repent_v and_o believe_v than_o by_o go_v on_o in_o my_o sin_n i_o will_v go_v that_o way_n i_o will_v rather_o attend_v upon_o the_o certain_o it_o must_v come_v by_o the_o gospel_n or_o else_o it_o be_v a_o delusion_n if_o so_o be_v that_o the_o treaty_n between_o god_n and_o your_o soul_n be_v not_o the_o treaty_n of_o the_o gospel_n that_o be_v the_o gospel_n reveal_v the_o great_a counsel_n of_o god_n unto_o you_o about_o this_o and_o the_o term_n upon_o which_o he_o will_v be_v reconcile_v and_o then_o your_o soul_n send_v up_o your_o answer_n to_o god_n how_o you_o will_v be_v willing_a to_o accept_v of_o those_o condition_n that_o be_v propound_v in_o the_o gospel_n i_o put_v this_o to_o your_o soul_n what_o treaty_n have_v there_o be_v between_o god_n and_o you_o have_v you_o find_v the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o be_v powerful_a upon_o you_o and_o to_o bring_v this_o peace_n into_o you_o if_o mercy_n that_o be_v here_o promise_v to_o the_o son_n of_o peace_n be_v not_o their_o portion_n the_o peace_n of_o the_o gospel_n do_v not_o rest_n upon_o their_o spirit_n it_o be_v a_o blessing_n not_o offend_v in_o i_o for_o man_n be_v ready_a to_o be_v offend_v when_o they_o see_v great_a one_o reject_v the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n but_o you_o hear_v that_o god_n send_v it_o where_o glorious_a gospel_n be_v preach_v in_o vain_a what_o shall_v the_o precious_a blood_n of_o jesus_n christ_n be_v shed_v in_o vain_a and_o it_o be_v in_o vain_a in_o respect_n of_o many_o soul_n and_o shall_v it_o be_v in_o respect_n of_o my_o soul_n the_o lord_n forbid_v o_o that_o the_o lord_n will_v put_v such_o kind_n of_o thought_n into_o your_o heart_n when_o you_o see_v other_o live_v under_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n in_o a_o sinful_a way_n and_o thus_o much_o for_o this_o supposition_n if_o not_o what_o follow_v if_o not_o let_v it_o return_v to_o you_o again_o here_o we_o have_v first_o a_o encouragement_n to_o god_n minister_n in_o case_n their_o ministry_n be_v reject_v and_o second_o a_o dreadful_a denunciation_n against_o those_o that_o shall_v reject_v the_o gospel_n first_o the_o encouragement_n of_o the_o minister_n of_o god_n in_o case_n their_o ministry_n be_v reject_v let_v it_o return_v to_o you_o again_o in_o this_o we_o have_v these_o two_o thing_n first_o that_o when_o any_o minister_n preach_v christ_n to_o a_o people_n if_o the_o people_n get_v no_o good_a by_o his_o preach_v yet_o he_o shall_v have_v the_o benefit_n of_o it_o upon_o his_o own_o soul_n that_o be_v the_o first_o let_v it_o return_v to_o you_o again_o if_o they_o will_v not_o embrace_v it_o so_o as_o to_o have_v the_o good_a and_o benefit_n of_o it_o to_o they_o it_o shall_v return_v to_o you_o and_o you_o shall_v have_v the_o benefit_n and_o blessing_n of_o it_o upon_o your_o own_o soul_n second_o let_v it_o return_v that_o be_v though_o it_o prevail_v not_o here_o yet_o it_o shall_v not_o lose_v any_o thing_n of_o its_o efficacy_n of_o the_o life_n of_o the_o vigour_n of_o it_o but_o it_o shall_v return_v to_o you_o with_o as_o much_o efficacy_n and_o life_n as_o ever_o so_o as_o if_o you_o be_v send_v to_o some_o other_o place_n there_o may_v be_v as_o much_o hope_n of_o do_v good_a as_o ever_o you_o have_v these_o be_v the_o two_o thing_n that_o work_n of_o the_o ministry_n but_o especial_o he_o be_v to_o look_v after_o his_o faithfulness_n in_o his_o labour_n and_o if_o he_o be_v faithful_a there_o he_o shall_v not_o lose_v his_o labour_n but_o say_v bernard_n you_o must_v have_v a_o care_n rather_o to_o discharge_v your_o work_n to_o take_v care_n of_o soul_n rather_o than_o the_o cure_n of_o they_o it_o be_v your_o work_n to_o take_v his_o comfort_n here_o and_o his_o encouragement_n the_o other_o go_v on_o in_o his_o painfulness_n and_o faithfulness_n though_o he_o have_v not_o such_o comfort_n and_o encouragement_n and_o indeed_o of_o all_o work_n it_o be_v the_o hard_a work_n for_o a_o man_n to_o go_v on_o comfortable_o in_o the_o work_n of_o the_o ministry_n without_o success_n there_o be_v no_o work_n so_o hard_o as_o that_o be_v what_o for_o a_o man_n to_o think_v o_o that_o the_o lord_n shall_v send_v i_o to_o a_o people_n to_o what_o end_n to_o preach_v the_o gospel_n indeed_o but_o to_o harden_v they_o but_o to_o aggravate_v their_o sin_n but_o so_o as_o their_o condemnation_n shall_v be_v increase_v o_o it_o be_v a_o dreadful_a thought_n unto_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o minister_n to_o think_v that_o he_o shall_v be_v send_v about_o such_o a_o task_n as_o this_o be_v jeremy_n be_v even_o weary_a and_o say_v he_o will_v preach_v no_o more_o in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n only_o the_o word_n harden_v the_o heart_n of_o people_n as_o the_o truth_n be_v there_o be_v nothing_o in_o the_o world_n will_v harden_v man_n heart_n more_o than_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n if_o it_o do_v hard_a message_n how_o must_v this_o prophet_n be_v prepare_v there_o needs_o be_v a_o mighty_a deal_n of_o preparation_n to_o make_v he_o go_v cheerful_o on_o in_o his_o work_n you_o shall_v see_v that_o the_o prophet_n have_v a_o most_o glorious_a vision_n to_o prepare_v he_o he_o see_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n shilling_n the_o temple_n and_o above_o it_o stand_v the_o cherubim_n and_o one_o cry_v to_o another_o and_o say_v holy_a holy_a holy_a be_v the_o lord_n of_o host_n the_o whole_a earth_n be_v full_a of_o his_o glory_n and_o the_o post_n of_o the_o door_n move_v at_o the_o voice_n further_o the_o spirit_n enter_v into_o he_o and_o speak_v unto_o he_o and_o then_o declare_v his_o message_n and_o give_v he_o the_o roll_n and_o bid_v he_o eat_v it_o and_o make_v it_o to_o be_v sweet_a unto_o he_o though_o it_o be_v a_o message_n of_o threaten_v i_o speak_v all_o this_o to_o this_o end_n to_o show_v that_o there_o be_v no_o work_n more_o difficult_a than_o the_o work_n of_o a_o minister_n and_o especial_o when_o his_o ministry_n have_v not_o success_n and_o therefore_o this_o point_n be_v very_o reasonable_a to_o tell_v unto_o they_o all_o that_o though_o they_o have_v not_o the_o success_n that_o they_o desire_v yet_o the_o good_a of_o their_o ministry_n shall_v return_v upon_o they_o again_o be_v there_o a_o people_n that_o they_o be_v send_v to_o to_o who_o do_v they_o offer_v christ_n why_o they_o will_v fain_o gain_v their_o soul_n unto_o christ_n that_o they_o may_v live_v for_o ever_o in_o praise_v the_o riches_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n in_o the_o high_a heaven_n but_o will_v they_o not_o know_v thou_o shait_fw-fr have_v the_o blessing_n of_o that_o peace_n look_v what_o glory_n and_o comfort_n they_o shall_v have_v have_v it_o shall_v return_v into_o thy_o bosom_n it_o be_v here_o in_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n as_o in_o other_o duty_n suppose_v you_o pray_v for_o a_o child_n or_o friend_n or_o kinsman_n you_o do_v not_o see_v that_o he_o be_v turn_v to_o god_n according_a to_o your_o prayer_n but_o know_v your_o prayer_n be_v not_o lose_v for_o all_o that_o the_o blessing_n of_o your_o prayer_n shall_v return_v into_o your_o bosom_n and_o therefore_o be_v encourage_v in_o every_o good_a work_n as_o minister_n shall_v be_v encourage_v in_o their_o ministry_n though_o they_o have_v not_o success_n so_o you_o every_o one_o in_o your_o measure_n shall_v be_v encourage_v in_o every_o work_n that_o god_n have_v call_v you_o unto_o go_v on_o therefore_o with_o peace_n and_o with_o comfort_n in_o all_o the_o work_n that_o heretofore_o you_o have_v be_v so_o much_o discourage_v in_o for_o the_o reward_n be_v to_o your_o faithfulness_n and_o not_o to_o the_o success_n of_o your_o work_n the_o next_o to_o this_o be_v your_o peace_n shall_v return_v that_o be_v as_o i_o show_v you_o it_o shall_v return_v with_o as_o much_o power_n and_o efficacy_n for_o they_o may_v think_v thus_o lord_n and_o now_o the_o edge_n seem_v to_o be_v off_o and_o never_o like_a to_o do_v good_a any_o where_o no_o say_v christ_n do_v not_o reason_n so_o do_v not_o think_v that_o your_o gospel_n have_v lose_v the_o edge_n of_o it_o it_o shall_v return_v to_o you_o again_o with_o as_o much_o power_n as_o ever_o it_o do_v at_o first_o it_o be_v not_o so_o with_o the_o gospel_n as_o with_o other_o thing_n many_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n if_o once_o they_o receive_v a_o repulse_n their_o edge_n be_v take_v off_o but_o the_o gospel_n though_o it_o do_v receive_v a_o repulse_n yet_o still_o the_o edge_n of_o it_o shall_v continue_v and_o the_o power_n of_o it_o this_o be_v that_o which_o the_o apostle_n say_v 2_o tim._n 2._o 10._o wherein_o i_o suffer_v trouble_n as_o a_o evil-doer_n even_o unto_o bond_n but_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v not_o bind_v mark_v though_o i_o suffer_v bond_n yet_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v not_o bind_v i_o be_o slight_v and_o contemn_v i_o but_o the_o word_n be_v not_o bind_v the_o word_n be_v the_o same_o that_o ever_o it_o be_v though_o i_o be_v hate_v and_o cast_v out_o that_o be_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o word_n yet_o it_o remain_v in_o as_o much_o strength_n as_o ever_o it_o do_v
i_o indeed_o be_o cast_v into_o a_o dungeon_n but_o the_o gospel_n will_v prevail_v all_o the_o persecution_n of_o wicked_a man_n all_o the_o scorn_n that_o be_v cast_v upon_o the_o gospel_n by_o they_o shall_v not_o take_v away_o the_o edge_n and_o power_n and_o life_n of_o the_o gospel_n but_o that_o shall_v continue_v as_o much_o as_o ever_o all_o the_o rage_n of_o hell_n and_o devil_n and_o tyrant_n shall_v not_o take_v away_o the_o power_n of_o the_o gospel_n indeed_o they_o may_v restrain_v such_o and_o such_o man_n in_o the_o preach_a of_o it_o but_o after_o they_o be_v dead_a and_o rot_a and_o roar_v in_o hell_n the_o gospel_n shall_v prevail_v we_o find_v it_o so_o at_o this_o day_n ever_o since_o christ_n come_v the_o gospel_n have_v be_v oppose_v by_o ungodly_a man_n shall_v we_o think_v that_o therefore_o in_o have_v lose_v the_o power_n of_o it_o no_o god_n time_n be_v not_o come_v when_o the_o time_n of_o god_n shall_v come_v to_o call_v home_o those_o that_o belong_v to_o his_o election_n of_o grace_n it_o shall_v appear_v that_o the_o gospel_n shall_v arise_v in_o power_n and_o glory_n and_o prevail_v in_o the_o world_n again_o therefore_o let_v we_o never_o despair_v but_o that_o the_o gospel_n will_v prevail_v in_o the_o world_n as_o at_o first_o when_o as_o there_o be_v but_o a_o few_o poor_a fisherman_n to_o preach_v it_o and_o all_o the_o world_n be_v enrage_v against_o it_o the_o emperor_n and_o prince_n of_o the_o earth_n be_v enrage_v against_o it_o and_o yet_o these_o poor_a fisherman_n do_v subdue_v a_o great_a part_n of_o the_o world_n by_o the_o power_n of_o the_o gospel_n therefore_o let_v not_o we_o be_v discourage_v for_o when_o god_n time_n be_v come_v it_o shall_v prevail_v in_o a_o glorious_a manner_n more_o than_o ever_o and_o so_o as_o it_o be_v with_o the_o gospel_n so_o it_o shall_v be_v with_o the_o professor_n of_o it_o if_o god_n be_v dishonour_v by_o other_o yet_o let_v not_o your_o edge_n be_v take_v open_v their_o cabinet_n of_o diamond_n and_o precious_a stone_n and_o make_v offer_n to_o they_o but_o they_o do_v not_o know_v the_o worth_n of_o they_o they_o will_v bid_v nothing_o for_o they_o now_o when_o he_o see_v that_o they_o reject_v and_o despise_v they_o say_v he_o give_v i_o my_o ware_n again_o and_o so_o he_o pack_v they_o up_o again_o and_o away_o he_o go_v for_o say_v he_o this_o be_v not_o a_o people_n that_o be_v fit_a for_o such_o thing_n as_o these_o be_v so_o say_v christ_n you_o be_v such_o chapman_n i_o send_v you_o abroad_o with_o the_o most_o rich_a pearl_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o go_v and_o show_v the_o excellency_n of_o it_o to_o people_n and_o to_o offer_v it_o to_o they_o and_o the_o truth_n be_v i_o require_v thus_o much_o of_o they_o that_o if_o they_o will_v have_v this_o pearl_n they_o must_v sell_v all_o now_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n come_v and_o they_o be_v ignorant_a of_o this_o pearl_n that_o they_o have_v bring_v this_o rich_a commodity_n they_o can_v tell_v they_o indeed_o that_o here_o be_v a_o exceed_a rich_a pearl_n but_o this_o be_v the_o tenor_n that_o you_o must_v be_v content_a to_o part_v with_o all_o for_o this_o pearl_n that_o be_v thus_o first_o you_o must_v actual_o lay_v down_o and_o renounce_v every_o belove_a sin_n second_o you_o must_v enter_v into_o bond_n as_o it_o be_v with_o god_n that_o
