reason_n to_o move_v we_o hereunto_o may_v be_v these_o i._o excess_n destroy_v the_o body_n and_o kill_v even_o the_o very_a natural_a strength_n and_o life_n thereof_o ii_o it_o bring_v great_a hurt_n to_o the_o soul_n of_o man_n in_o that_o it_o annoy_v the_o spirit_n it_o dull_v the_o sense_n it_o corrupt_v the_o natural_a heat_n and_o good_a temper_n of_o the_o body_n now_o these_o thing_n be_v the_o help_n and_o next_o instrument_n of_o the_o soul_n if_o they_o be_v once_o corrupt_v and_o decay_a the_o soul_n itself_o will_v at_o length_n be_v bring_v to_o the_o same_o pass_n iii_o let_v this_o be_v consider_v that_o a_o woe_n belong_v unto_o they_o that_o eat_v and_o drink_v immoderate_o esa._n 5._o 11._o and_o for_o this_o very_a sin_n the_o lord_n lead_v his_o own_o people_n into_o captivity_n v_o 13._o yea_o the_o drunkard_n and_o the_o glutton_n shall_v become_v poor_a prov._n 23._o 21._o and_o both_o shall_v equal_o with_o there_o pomp_n and_o excess_n descend_v into_o hell_n isaiah_n 5._o 14._o iv._o we_o shall_v be_v willing_a to_o part_v from_o all_o for_o christ_n sake_n much_o more_o from_o our_o excess_n and_o shall_v we_o think_v it_o be_v it_o to_o give_v over_o ourselves_o to_o such_o immoderate_a excess_n whereby_o we_o be_v utter_o disable_v from_o these_o and_o all_o other_o duty_n of_o godliness_n sect._n 3_o in_o the_o three_o place_n we_o come_v to_o those_o question_n that_o concern_v the_o moderation_n of_o our_o appetite_n in_o the_o use_n of_o apparel_n and_o of_o this_o kind_n there_o be_v two_o principal_a question_n the_o former_a of_o they_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o a_o introduction_n to_o the_o latter_a i._o question_n whether_o ornament_n of_o gold_n silver_n precious_a stone_n silk_n &_o velvet_n etc._n etc._n may_v not_o lawful_o be_v use_v ans._n there_o be_v a_o lawful_a use_n of_o these_o thing_n yet_o not_o in_o all_o but_o only_o in_o themto_n who_o they_o belong_v reason_n of_o the_o answer_n be_v these_o i._o gold_n and_o silver_n etc._n etc._n be_v the_o gift_n of_o god_n and_o serve_v not_o only_o for_o necessity_n but_o for_o ornament_n and_o comeliness_n ii_o we_o have_v the_o example_n of_o sundry_a person_n in_o scripture_n which_o do_v warrant_v the_o use_n of_o these_o creature_n and_o blessing_n of_o god_n abraham_n by_o his_o steward_n send_v
