his_o spouse_n and_o will_v thou_o murmur_v now_o and_o be_v discontent_v in_o thy_o spirit_n you_o shall_v observe_v among_o those_o that_o be_v new_o match_v when_o there_o be_v discontent_n between_o the_o wife_n and_o the_o husband_n their_o friend_n will_v shake_v their_o head_n and_o say_v they_o do_v not_o meet_v with_o that_o that_o they_o do_v expect_v you_o see_v ever_o since_o see_v from_o whence_o my_o peace_n come_v and_o enjoy_v the_o fountain_n of_o my_o peace_n as_o well_o as_o the_o stream_n of_o my_o peace_n and_o so_o in_o other_o mercy_n have_v i_o health_n from_o god_n i_o must_v have_v the_o god_n of_o my_o health_n to_o be_v my_o portion_n or_o else_o i_o be_o not_o satisfy_v it_o be_v not_o life_n but_o the_o god_n of_o my_o life_n it_o be_v not_o riches_n the_o spirit_n of_o a_o man_n to_o his_o estate_n and_o the_o evenness_n when_o one_o end_n be_v not_o long_o and_o big_a than_o another_o the_o heart_n be_v content_v there_o be_v comfort_n in_o that_o condition_n now_o let_v god_n give_v a_o man_n never_o so_o great_a riches_n yet_o if_o the_o lord_n give_v he_o up_o to_o the_o pride_n of_o his_o heart_n he_o will_v never_o be_v content_v but_o now_o let_v god_n bring_v any_o one_o into_o a_o mean_a condition_n and_o then_o let_v god_n but_o fashion_n and_o suit_v his_o heart_n to_o that_o condition_n and_o he_o will_v be_v content_a as_o now_o in_o a_o man_n go_v suppose_v a_o man_n have_v a_o mighty_a long_a leg_n and_o his_o other_o leg_n be_v short_a why_o though_o one_o of_o his_o leg_n be_v long_o than_o ordinary_a yet_o he_o can_v not_o go_v so_o well_o as_o a_o man_n that_o have_v both_o his_o leg_n short_a than_o he_o i_o compare_v a_o long_a leg_n when_o one_o be_v long_a than_o another_o to_o a_o man_n that_o have_v a_o high_a condition_n and_o be_v very_o rich_a and_o a_o great_a man_n in_o the_o world_n but_o he_o have_v a_o great_a proud_a heart_n too_o and_o that_o be_v long_a and_o large_a than_o his_o condition_n now_o this_o man_n can_v but_o be_v trouble_v in_o his_o condition_n now_o another_o man_n that_o be_v in_o a_o mean_a condition_n his_o condition_n be_v low_a and_o his_o heart_n be_v low_a too_o so_o that_o his_o heart_n and_o his_o condition_n be_v both_o even_o together_o and_o this_o man_n go_v on_o with_o more_o ease_n abundant_o than_o the_o other_o do_v so_o that_o now_o a_o gracious_a heart_n work_v after_o this_o manner_n the_o lord_n
reason_n why_o god_n be_v so_o displease_v because_o that_o they_o will_v have_v more_o ease_n in_o god_n service_n than_o god_n will_v have_v they_o for_o whereas_o they_o shall_v carry_v it_o upon_o their_o shoulder_n they_o will_v carry_v it_o upon_o a_o cart_n mark_v here_o you_o see_v the_o first_o burden_n that_o they_o have_v beyond_o what_o the_o other_o levite_n have_v and_o those_o than_o the_o danger_n of_o man_n that_o be_v in_o a_o inferior_a condition_n now_o when_o the_o soul_n come_v to_o get_v wisdom_n from_o christ_n to_o think_v of_o the_o danger_n that_o it_o be_v in_o than_o it_o will_v be_v content_a with_o that_o low_a estate_n in_o which_o it_o be_v a_o poor_a man_n that_o be_v in_o a_o low_a condition_n think_v i_o be_o low_a and_o other_o be_v raise_v but_o i_o know_v not_o what_o their_o burden_n be_v and_o so_o if_o he_o be_v right_o instruct_v in_o the_o school_n of_o christ_n he_o come_v to_o be_v content_v 3._o i_o a_o prosperous_a estate_n there_o be_v the_o burden_n of_o duty_n you_o look_v only_o at_o the_o sweet_a and_o comfort_n that_o they_o have_v and_o the_o honour_n and_o respect_n that_o they_o have_v that_o be_v in_o a_o prosperous_a condition_n but_o you_o must_v consider_v of_o the_o duty_n that_o they_o owe_v to_o god_n god_n require_v more_o duty_n at_o their_o hand_n than_o at_o you_o you_o be_v ready_a to_o be_v discontent_v the_o minister_n and_o magistrate_n will_v be_v nothing_o you_o be_v to_o give_v a_o account_n of_o your_o own_o soul_n and_o so_o be_v they_o you_o be_v to_o give_v a_o account_n for_o your_o own_o family_n and_o so_o be_v they_o but_o you_o be_v not_o to_o give_v account_n for_o congregation_n and_o for_o town_n and_o city_n and_o country_n you_o think_v of_o prince_n and_o king_n oh_o what_o a_o glorious_a condition_n they_o be_v in_o but_o what_o do_v you_o think_v of_o a_o king_n to_o give_v account_n for_o all_o the_o disorder_n and_o wickedness_n in_o a_o kingdom_n that_o he_o possible_o may_v have_v prevent_v what_o abundance_n of_o glory_n may_v a_o prince_n bring_v to_o god_n if_o so_o be_v that_o he_o bend_v his_o soul_n and_o all_o his_o thought_n to_o lift_v up_o the_o name_n of_o god_n in_o a_o kingdom_n now_o what_o god_n lose_v for_o want_v of_o this_o that_o king_n prince_z or_o governor_n he_o must_v give_v a_o account_n for_o it_o be_v a_o speech_n of_o life_n all_o my_o day_n then_o shall_v i_o have_v die_v a_o great_a deal_n more_o secure_o i_o shall_v with_o more_o confidence_n have_v go_v before_o the_o throne_n of_o god_n to_o give_v my_o by_o his_o spirit_n he_o give_v they_o wisdom_n to_o understand_v these_o aright_o the_o eight_o lesson_n be_v this_o christ_n teach_v they_o what_o a_o great_a and_o dreadful_a evil_n it_o be_v to_o and_o for_o the_o honour_v they_o in_o all_o condition_n it_o may_v be_v in_o such_o a_o way_n as_o thou_o think_v thou_o can_v honour_v god_n god_n have_v a_o crown_n for_o that_o and_o god_n have_v put_v i_o in_o make_v i_o to_o be_v unservicable_a and_o this_o trouble_v i_o it_o be_v true_a if_o it_o be_v only_o a_o affliction_n and_o trouble_n to_o myself_o it_o be_v not_o so_o much_o but_o i_o be_o put_v into_o such_o a_o condition_n by_o this_o affliction_n as_o i_o be_o unservicable_a and_o be_o like_a to_o do_v god_n no_o further_a service_n god_n put_v i_o into_o a_o mean_a estate_n and_o what_o good_a can_v i_o do_v and_o how_o burdensome_a be_v my_o life_n to_o i_o because_o i_o can_v do_v no_o service_n for_o god_n and_o this_o be_v grievous_a to_o i_o indeed_o if_o it_o he_o true_a that_o this_o be_v thy_o great_a grief_n it_o be_v a_o good_a sign_n if_o thou_o can_v say_v as_o in_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n above_o all_o affliction_n here_o in_o this_o world_n to_o be_v lay_v aside_o &_o not_o to_o be_v employ_v in_o the_o service_n of_o god_n i_o account_v that_o the_o great_a affliction_n i_o have_v rather_o bear_v any_o trouble_n in_o the_o world_n so_o i_o may_v do_v more_o service_n then_o to_o be_v free_v from_o trouble_n and_o to_o be_v lay_v aside_o and_o do_v little_a service_n can_v thou_o say_v so_o it_o be_v a_o good_a sign_n of_o grace_n for_o a_o man_n to_o account_v affliction_n to_o be_v great_a because_o he_o can_v do_v the_o lord_n but_o little_a service_n few_o man_n account_v that_o no_o affliction_n at_o all_o but_o yet_o there_o may_v be_v a_o temptation_n in_o this_o to_o murmur_v at_o god_n dispose_v when_o your_o call_n be_v low_a and_o mean_a and_o you_o can_v do_v little_a service_n this_o be_v many_o time_n a_o temptation_n to_o those_o that_o be_v poor_a those_o that_o be_v servant_n and_o those_o that_o be_v of_o weak_a part_n and_o be_v fain_o to_o work_v hard_a to_o provide_v bread_n for_o their_o family_n it_o be_v many_o time_n a_o grievous_a burden_n to_o they_o to_o think_v such_o man_n the_o lord_n use_v in_o public_a service_n and_o i_o live_v in_o a_o obscure_a way_n and_o to_o what_o purpose_n be_v my_o life_n first_o to_o help_v against_o this_o temptation_n that_o thou_o may_v not_o murmur_v against_o this_o condition_n do_v but_o consider_v though_o thy_o condition_n be_v low_a and_o mean_a yet_o thou_o be_v in_o the_o body_n thou_o be_v a_o member_n of_o the_o body_n though_o thou_o be_v but_o a_o mean_a member_n the_o toe_n and_o the_o finger_n have_v its_o use_n in_o the_o body_n though_o it_o be_v not_o the_o eye_n though_o it_o be_v not_o the_o head_n or_o the_o heart_n yet_o it_o have_v its_o use_n in_o the_o body_n and_o it_o be_v a_o excellent_a
aggravation_n of_o our_o discontent_n but_o now_o i_o shall_v use_v it_o as_o a_o consideration_n to_o help_v we_o to_o contentment_n thou_o want_v many_o comfort_n now_o but_o have_v not_o god_n be_v with_o god_n so_o little_a with_o spiritual_a thing_n the_o converse_v with_o spiritual_a thing_n will_v lift_v we_o above_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o world_n those_o that_o be_v bit_n or_o sting_v with_o a_o snake_n it_o be_v because_o they_o tread_v upon_o the_o ground_n if_o they_o can_v be_v lift_v up_o above_o the_o earth_n they_o need_v never_o fear_v to_o be_v sting_v with_o the_o snake_n meet_v with_o disappointment_n and_o so_o they_o come_v to_o be_v discontent_n be_v as_o high_a as_o you_o will_v in_o spiritual_a meditation_n god_n give_v liberty_n there_o to_o any_o one_o of_o you_o to_o be_v as_o high_a as_o you_o will_v above_o angel_n but_o for_o your_o outward_a estate_n god_n will_v not_o have_v you_o aim_v at_o high_a thing_n seek_v thou_o great_a thing_n say_v the_o lord_n to_o baruch_n seek_v they_o not_o you_o shall_v have_v your_o life_n for_o a_o prey_n in_o
these_o time_n especial_o it_o be_v a_o very_a great_a evil_n for_o any_o to_o aim_v at_o great_a thing_n seek_v they_o not_o be_v willing_a to_o take_v hold_v low_a &_o to_o creep_v low_a and_o if_o
