in_o they_o but_o let_v they_o come_v to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o look_v in_o this_o glass_n than_o they_o shall_v find_v themselves_o much_o out_o of_o order_n to_o have_v wound_v soul_n and_o defile_v conscience_n the_o other_o impediment_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n be_v worldly_a lust_n namely_o the_o love_n and_o exceed_a desire_n of_o riches_n honour_n pleasure_n etc._n etc._n and_o he_o that_o suffer_v these_o desire_n to_o have_v place_n in_o his_o heart_n he_o can_v possible_o keep_v a_o good_a conscience_n second_o the_o mean_n to_o preserve_v and_o to_o keep_v a_o good_a conscience_n be_v three_o first_o to_o do_v all_o thing_n that_o may_v save_v and_o cherish_v true_a save_v faith_n whereby_o our_o soul_n be_v assure_v of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n jesu_n for_o the_o pardon_n of_o our_o sin_n for_o faith_n be_v the_o root_n and_o the_o foundation_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n and_o without_o faith_n there_o can_v be_v no_o good_a conscience_n 10._o rom._n 10._o now_o to_o preserve_v faith_n we_o must_v often_o hear_v and_o read_v the_o word_n of_o god_n repent_v of_o our_o sin_n acknowledge_v and_o confess_v they_o and_o be_v humble_v for_o than_o thy_o conscience_n will_v accuse_v and_o lay_v to_o thy_o charge_n every_o one_o of_o they_o in_o order_n thou_o have_v set_v my_o misdeed_n before_o i_o and_o my_o secret_a sin_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o thy_o countenance_n say_v david_n again_o in_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n what_o anger_n what_o envy_n what_o malice_n lurk_v therein_o and_o they_o pass_v it_o over_o and_o think_v time_n in_o a_o day_n he_o can_v for_o his_o life_n remember_v they_o well_o know_v that_o every_o sinful_a word_n thou_o speak_v be_v write_v in_o this_o book_n there_o it_o be_v record_v and_o thought_n likewise_o the_o very_a lust_n of_o the_o heart_n paul_n complain_v of_o this_o 7._o rom._n 7._o and_o peter_n bid_v simon_n magus_n to_o repent_v and_o pray_v 8._o act_n 8._o if_o perhaps_o the_o thought_n of_o his_o heart_n may_v be_v pardon_v i_o doubt_v not_o but_o the_o child_n of_o god_n be_v careful_a over_o their_o very_a thought_n for_o a_o wicked_a carnal_a man_n may_v abstain_v possible_a for_o the_o child_n of_o god_n to_o know_v whether_o his_o name_n be_v write_v in_o the_o book_n of_o life_n or_o not_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n hold_v that_o no_o man_n can_v certain_o know_v whether_o he_o be_v the_o child_n of_o god_n or_o no._n nay_o they_o condemn_v this_o as_o a_o foul_a fault_n and_o bold_a presumption_n for_o any_o man_n to_o be_v certain_o persuade_v of_o our_o election_n sure_a 10._o 2_o pet._n 1.10_o job_n 19_o rom._n 8.16_o luke_n 10._o and_o why_o do_v our_o saviour_n bid_v his_o disciple_n rejoice_v that_o their_o name_n be_v write_v in_o the_o sink_v into_o our_o very_a heart_n that_o whosoever_o be_v not_o find_v write_v in_o the_o book_n of_o life_n shall_v be_v cast_v into_o this_o lake_n of_o fire_n now_o the_o better_a to_o express_v what_o be_v mean_v by_o this_o lake_n of_o fire_n not_o a_o bodily_a death_n nor_o a_o material_a fire_n like_v to_o we_o but_o the_o holy-ghost_n mean_v here_o even_o the_o second_o death_n that_o be_v not_o of_o the_o body_n only_o death_n double_a death_n but_o of_o eternal_a death_n and_o damnation_n both_o of_o body_n and_o soul_n for_o evermore_o this_o be_v the_o second_o death_n and_o by_o this_o we_o may_v see_v there_o be_v a_o double_a death_n there_o be_v the_o first_o death_n and_o the_o second_o death_n the_o first_o death_n be_v the_o separation_n of_o the_o soul_n from_o the_o body_n &_o this_o be_v common_a to_o all_o the_o child_n of_o god_n do_v die_v this_o death_n aswell_o as_o the_o wicked_a yet_o there_o be_v a_o difference_n for_o death_n be_v no_o curse_n to_o the_o child_n of_o god_n because_o christ_n death_n have_v take_v away_o the_o sting_n of_o death_n that_o it_o can_v not_o hurt_v the_o child_n of_o god_n no_o it_o be_v as_o a_o door_n to_o let_v our_o soul_n into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n but_o the_o second_o they_o never_o taste_v of_o no_o child_n of_o god_n needs_o to_o fear_v the_o second_o death_n 8.1_o rom._n 8.1_o for_o there_o be_v no_o condemnation_n to_o they_o that_o be_v in_o christ_n jesus_n consist_v wherein_o the_o second_o death_n consist_v now_o as_o the_o first_o death_n be_v only_o the_o separation_n of_o the_o soul_n from_o the_o body_n so_o the_o second_o death_n be_v a_o total_a and_o final_a separation_n of_o both_o soul_n and_o body_n from_o god_n for_o evermore_o and_o this_o second_o death_n do_v stand_v principal_o in_o these_o three_o point_n first_o that_o all_o the_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a sinner_n that_o live_v and_o die_v in_o their_o sin_n they_o shall_v be_v sever_v from_o the_o glorious_a and_o bless_a presence_n of_o god_n for_o ever_o which_o shall_v be_v punish_v with_o everlasting_a perdition_n from_o the_o presence_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o from_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o power_n 2._o thes_n 1.9_o o_o what_o a_o woeful_a death_n be_v this_o to_o be_v pluck_v and_o tear_v from_o the_o bless_a and_o comfortable_a presence_n of_o god_n whereas_o our_o saviour_n christ_n say_v matth._n 5._o â—8_o that_o our_o happiness_n and_o all_o the_o joy_n of_o god_n child_n shall_v stand_v in_o the_o behold_n of_o god_n and_o be_v in_o his_o presence_n for_o evermore_o then_o what_o misery_n and_o what_o woe_n will_v this_o be_v unto_o the_o wicked_a to_o be_v cast_v out_o of_o the_o glorious_a presence_n of_o god_n for_o ever_o see_v that_o he_o alone_o be_v the_o as_o for_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a sinner_n that_o live_v in_o sin_n delight_n in_o sin_n that_o have_v no_o part_n in_o the_o first_o resurrection_n their_o case_n be_v woeful_a they_o be_v subject_a to_o the_o second_o that_o be_v eternal_a death_n and_o damnation_n for_o if_o you_o live_v after_o the_o flesh_n 6.8_o rom._n 6.8_o you_o shall_v die_v and_o therefore_o deceive_v not_o yourselves_o as_o many_o do_v which_o think_v if_o they_o come_v to_o church_n hear_v the_o word_n receive_v the_o sacrament_n all_o be_v well_o they_o hope_v god_n will_v be_v merciful_a to_o they_o and_o hell_n joy_n and_o pain_n the_o right_a hand_n and_o the_o left_a and_o the_o reward_n shall_v be_v according_a either_o bless_a or_o curse_v for_o so_o saint_n john_n say_v here_o the_o elect_n shall_v have_v eternal_a life_n but_o they_o that_o be_v reprobate_n shall_v be_v cast_v into_o the_o lake_n of_o fire_n first_o concern_v the_o elect_n and_o those_o that_o be_v choose_v in_o jesus_n christ_n and_o who_o name_n be_v write_v in_o heaven_n as_o their_o life_n do_v differ_v from_o the_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a so_o their_o estate_n after_o this_o life_n be_v far_o different_a for_o vain_a to_o serve_v the_o lord_n o_o no_o then_o man_n shall_v know_v it_o be_v not_o in_o vain_a to_o serve_v the_o lord_n nay_o god_n will_v put_v a_o difference_n between_o they_o that_o serve_v he_o and_o serve_v he_o not_o and_o this_o shall_v encourage_v all_o man_n to_o labour_n to_o abound_v in_o all_o holy_a duty_n see_v god_n will_v reward_v even_o the_o least_o work_n of_o faith_n if_o thou_o give_v but_o a_o cup_n of_o cold_a water_n in_o the_o name_n of_o christ_n very_o thou_o shall_v not_o loose_v thy_o reward_n though_o our_o work_n can_v merit_v yet_o he_o will_v in_o
