scripture_n as_o in_o all_o other_o like_o a_o good_a and_o faithful_a servant_n make_v it_o his_o whole_a business_n and_o design_n to_o advance_v his_o master_n glory_n the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n a_o new_a creature_n be_v the_o most_o glorious_a object_n that_o the_o world_n afford_v and_o the_o apostle_n care_n be_v to_o hold_v that_o forth_o in_o all_o its_o glory_n namely_o in_o christ_n a_o creature_n in_o christ_n be_v a_o new_a creature_n indeed_o and_o a_o new_a creature_n be_v in_o christ_n indeed_o as_o if_o the_o apostle_n have_v say_v there_o be_v not_o any_o man_n who_o be_v in_o christ_n what_o ever_o he_o be_v before_o but_o by_o virtue_n of_o that_o union_n he_o be_v make_v a_o new_a creature_n though_o before_o a_o wild_a olive_n yet_o so_o soon_o as_o ingraft_v into_o christ_n the_o tree_n of_o life_n he_o bring_v forth_o good_a fruit_n as_o you_o can_v gather_v grape_n from_o thorn_n nor_o fig_n of_o thistle_n no_o more_o can_v the_o member_n of_o christ_n be_v barren_a or_o bring_v forth_o brier_n or_o thistle_n in_o stead_n of_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n which_o be_v love_n joy_n etc._n etc._n christ_n be_v the_o saint_n fountain_n that_o be_v unite_v to_o he_o out_o of_o who_o can_v flow_v no_o bitter_a water_n he_o that_o be_v bear_v of_o god_n sin_n not_o so_o far_o as_o the_o new_a birth_n be_v in_o he_o though_o there_o be_v a_o law_n in_o the_o member_n in_o the_o flesh_n of_o saint_n which_o serve_v the_o law_n of_o sin_n yet_o with_o the_o law_n of_o their_o mind_n they_o serve_v the_o will_n of_o god_n so_o that_o you_o shall_v find_v saint_n in_o this_o frame_n complain_v of_o self_n and_o admire_v of_o god_n condemn_v of_o self_n and_o justify_v of_o god_n the_o remainder_n of_o the_o old_a man_n in_o i_o that_o be_v myself_o my_o flesh_n say_v a_o saint_n but_o the_o new_a creature_n that_o be_v christ_n in_o i_o the_o hope_n of_o glory_n that_o be_v the_o king_n of_o glory_n come_v into_o my_o soul_n and_o display_v the_o glory_n of_o his_o presence_n there_o that_o be_v christ_n in_o i_o and_o i_o in_o christ_n in_o who_o i_o be_o make_v a_o new_a creature_n therefore_o if_o any_o man_n be_v in_o christ_n he_o be_v a_o new_a creature_n and_o if_o any_o man_n be_v a_o new_a creature_n it_o be_v christ_n in_o he_o that_o there_o may_v appear_v method_n in_o what_o follow_v take_v this_o one_o general_a observation_n namely_o that_o be_v in_o christ_n and_o the_o new_a creature_n be_v inseparable_a they_o always_o give_v together_o if_o in_o christ_n then_o a_o new_a creature_n and_o if_o a_o new_a creature_n then_o in_o christ_n as_o it_o be_v impossible_a to_o be_v a_o new_a creature_n before_o unite_a to_o christ_n so_o it_o be_v as_o impossible_a to_o be_v true_o in_o christ_n and_o not_o to_o be_v a_o new_a creature_n as_o those_o dead_a bone_n can_v not_o live_v before_o god_n have_v unite_v they_o cover_v they_o with_o skin_n and_o breathe_v life_n into_o they_o for_o testimony_n to_o this_o truth_n take_v in_o the_o apostle_n paul_n in_o rom._n 8.10_o and_o if_o christ_n be_v in_o you_o the_o body_n be_v dead_a because_o of_o sin_n but_o the_o spirit_n be_v life_n because_o of_o righteousness_n he_o give_v we_o this_o truth_n as_o it_o be_v upon_o his_o experience_n as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v i_o have_v find_v this_o that_o ever_o since_o i_o have_v be_v in_o union_n with_o christ_n the_o body_n of_o sin_n have_v be_v a_o die_a &_o the_o spirit_n of_o life_n have_v carry_v i_o forth_o to_o the_o fruit_n of_o righteousness_n i_o be_o dead_a now_o to_o the_o command_n of_o sin_n and_o flesh_n by_o which_o i_o have_v former_o bin_v captive_a and_o be_o make_v alive_a in_o my_o spirit_n to_o the_o work_n of_o righteousness_n and_o if_o you_o ask_v i_o a_o reason_n of_o this_o it_o be_v christ_n in_o i_o and_o iâ—_n christ_n be_v in_o you_o it_o will_v be_v so_o with_o you_o too_o your_o body_n will_v be_v dead_a to_o the_o command_n of_o sin_n and_o your_o spirit_n alive_a in_o the_o fruit_n of_o righteousness_n you_o will_v find_v christ_n a_o live_a christ_n the_o second_o man_n from_o heaven_n heavenly_a and_o as_o a_o live_a christ_n so_o he_o make_v life_n where_o ever_o he_o come_v and_o the_o life_n he_o bring_v be_v heavenly_a christ_n make_v the_o new_a creature_n &_o therefore_o can_v never_o be_v without_o the_o new_a creature_n what_o have_v its_o be_v from_o christ_n can_v be_v without_o christ_n now_o the_o new_a creature_n have_v its_o be_v from_o christ_n it_o can_v not_o be_v but_o in_o christ_n and_o by_o christ_n so_o that_o it_o must_v needs_o follow_v it_o be_v always_o with_o christ_n where_o christ_n be_v there_o be_v the_o new_a creature_n indeed_o the_o new_a creature_n be_v nothing_o else_o but_o christ_n possess_v himself_o of_o a_o soul_n live_v in_o it_o and_o reign_v over_o it_o by_o his_o spirit_n as_o satan_n do_v in_o the_o mere_a natural_a man_n a_o saint_n he_o die_v with_o christ_n and_o he_o live_v with_o christ_n christ_n die_v for_o he_o and_o life_n in_o he_o and_o we_o shall_v find_v the_o apostle_n paul_n in_o gal._n 2.20_o make_v this_o confession_n and_o acknowledgement_n i_o be_o crucify_v with_o christ_n nevertheless_o i_o live_v yet_o not_o i_o but_o christ_n live_v in_o i_o and_o the_o life_n which_o i_o now_o live_v in_o the_o flesh_n i_o live_v by_o the_o faith_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n who_o love_v i_o and_o give_v himself_o for_o i_o he_o do_v acknowledge_v himself_o to_o be_v dead_a crucify_v to_o himself_o in_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n and_o then_o lay_v life_n be_v christ_n in_o i_o &_o it_o be_v not_o i_o but_o christ_n that_o live_v in_o i_o that_o faith_n which_o be_v in_o i_o be_v not selfe_o but_o christ_n as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v my_o life_n be_v a_o new_a life_n and_o that_o life_n be_v the_o new_a creature_n and_o that_o new_a creature_n be_v christ_n in_o i_o i_o be_o that_o temple_n which_o you_o see_v christ_n live_v in_o but_o christ_n be_v the_o life_n of_o that_o temple_n without_o i_o say_v christ_n you_o can_v do_v nothing_o true_a lord_n say_v paul_n but_o through_o thy_o strength_n i_o can_v do_v all_o thing_n as_o if_o christ_n have_v say_v you_o can_v be_v new_a creature_n till_o you_o be_v in_o i_o and_o i_o in_o you_o i_o find_v that_o true_a say_v paul_n for_o in_o i_o that_o be_v in_o my_o flesh_n there_o be_v no_o good_a but_o i_o have_v also_o experiment_v this_o truth_n if_o once_o in_o thou_o i_o can_v be_v no_o long_o a_o old_a creature_n as_o he_o tell_v we_o in_o gal._n 1.15_o 16._o so_o soon_o as_o ever_o god_n have_v call_v i_o by_o his_o grace_n to_o reveal_v his_o son_n in_o i_o that_o i_o may_v preach_v he_o among_o the_o heathen_n immediate_o i_o obey_v and_o do_v not_o stand_v to_o confer_v with_o flesh_n and_o blood_n not_o to_o see_v by_o his_o old_a eye_n nor_o to_o act_v upon_o his_o old_a principle_n flesh_n and_o blood_n must_v no_o long_o teach_v and_o lead_v paul_n say_v the_o flesh_n it_o may_v be_v of_o a_o saint_n i_o be_o afraid_a of_o the_o pain_n of_o death_n in_o die_v true_o this_o be_v a_o fear_n of_o our_o own_o create_v for_o how_o many_o thousand_o go_v out_o of_o the_o world_n when_o stander_n by_o can_v scarce_o tell_v whether_o they_o sleep_v or_o die_v but_o grant_v it_o that_o the_o pain_n of_o death_n be_v strong_a upon_o thy_o flesh_n yet_o take_v this_o with_o thou_o it_o be_v all_o the_o pain_n that_o ever_o thy_o flesh_n shall_v bear_v man_n to_o live_v a_o die_a life_n be_v oftentimes_o content_a to_o have_v their_o limb_n cut_v from_o their_o body_n which_o i_o believe_v be_v far_o more_o pain_n to_o the_o body_n then_o when_o death_n crack_v it_o to_o let_v out_o the_o soul_n but_o the_o gain_n far_o exceed_v thus_o be_v soul_n and_o body_n at_o ease_n both_o when_o the_o body_n be_v but_o the_o die_a of_o one_o limb_n a_o little_a before_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o body_n it_o be_v but_o the_o defer_v of_o death_n and_o it_o may_v be_v many_o death_n assault_v the_o body_n in_o that_o time_n this_o be_v but_o a_o bugbear_n in_o the_o fancy_n to_o fright_v child_n not_o worth_a the_o name_a among_o saint_n let_v god_n break_v what_o he_o will_v when_o he_o will_v and_o how_o he_o will_v he_o make_v all_o good_a again_o to_o his_o people_n in_o himself_o it_o be_v christ_n end_n in_o take_v the_o sting_n from_o death_n not_o to_o leave_v any_o ground_n of_o fear_n for_o his_o people_n so_o that_o believe_a saint_n through_o christ_n may_v true_o glory_v in_o and_o over_o death_n in_o all_o the_o fear_n of_o it_o four_o believe_v saint_n through_o christ_n may_v glory_v over_o death_n in_o the_o manner_n of_o it_o whether_o it_o be_v according_a to_o the_o term_n we_o use_v for_o distinction_n either_o natural_a or_o violent_a death_n yet_o to_o a_o saint_n through_o christ_n it_o be_v in_o both_o but_o death_n without_o a_o sting_n and_o that_o which_o our_o flesh_n call_v the_o worst_a of_o these_o the_o violent_a death_n god_n have_v and_o do_v make_v to_o be_v the_o portion_n of_o many_o of_o his_o dear_a saint_n the_o prophet_n apostle_n and_o those_o glorious_a primitive_a christian_n do_v many_o if_o not_o most_o of_o they_o drink_v of_o this_o cup_n and_o do_v it_o with_o so_o much_o joy_n in_o god_n that_o the_o tyrant_n of_o those_o time_n be_v more_o unable_a to_o invent_v cruel_a death_n than_o they_o be_v to_o undergo_v they_o and_o the_o reason_n be_v visible_a for_o though_o these_o death_n have_v the_o cruelty_n of_o man_n in_o they_o yet_o there_o be_v also_o the_o kindness_n of_o god_n in_o they_o christ_n have_v take_v away_o the_o sting_n of_o death_n which_o be_v sin_n and_o though_o man_n may_v add_v to_o their_o cruelty_n yet_o they_o can_v put_v no_o sting_n into_o death_n the_o martyr_n of_o late_a time_n as_o history_n tell_v we_o have_v go_v leap_v and_o rejoice_v to_o the_o stake_n be_v joyful_a in_o the_o embrace_v of_o flame_n and_o as_o one_o say_v to_o his_o fellow_n martyr_n be_v of_o good_a cheer_n though_o our_o breakfast_n be_v sour_a yet_o our_o supper_n will_v be_v sweet_a in_o heaven_n as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v though_o these_o flame_n bring_v smart_n with_o they_o yet_o they_o will_v put_v a_o end_n to_o all_o smart_n this_o be_v all_o the_o sting_n that_o be_v in_o death_n and_o it_o will_v soon_o have_v a_o end_n we_o shall_v sup_v with_o our_o belove_a jesus_n and_o abide_v in_o that_o love_n for_o ever_o it_o be_v sin_n in_o death_n that_o make_v it_o bitter_a what_o ever_o the_o manner_n be_v but_o if_o fin_n be_v take_v away_o there_o be_v no_o sting_n in_o death_n let_v the_o manner_n be_v what_o it_o will_v it_o be_v all_o one_o to_o a_o saint_n where_o he_o meet_v with_o death_n whether_o in_o the_o field_n or_o at_o home_n in_o his_o bed_n whether_o it_o take_v he_o in_o his_o great_a strength_n with_o his_o bone_n full_a of_o marrow_n in_o his_o dâ—câ—ying_a state_n when_o his_o eye_n grow_v dim_a and_o his_o other_o faculty_n fail_v he_o mind_v not_o the_o manner_n of_o die_v but_o the_o matter_n of_o death_n death_n be_v without_o a_o sting_n so_o that_o where_o when_o or_o how_o death_n come_v into_o his_o bosom_n that_o be_v of_o little_a value_n with_o he_o he_o on_o 〈◊〉_d this_o to_o find_v death_n a_o friend_n without_o its_o sting_n and_o then_o through_o christ_n he_o glory_v in_o and_o over_o both_o matter_n and_o manner_n of_o death_n five_o a_o believe_a saint_n through_o christ_n may_v glory_v over_o death_n in_o the_o end_n of_o it_o there_o be_v two_o main_a end_n in_o death_n which_o be_v proper_a to_o saint_n the_o first_o be_v to_o put_v a_o end_n to_o a_o die_a life_n to_o finish_v that_o work_n which_o begin_v so_o soon_o as_o we_o begin_v to_o live_v in_o these_o body_n of_o clay_n man_n begin_v to_o die_v so_o soon_o as_o he_o gin_v to_o liuâ—_n because_o the_o whole_a life_n be_v but_o a_o progress_n of_o death_n or_o a_o die_a life_n all_o the_o time_n we_o live_v we_o die_v invisible_a and_o when_o we_o die_v indeed_o it_o be_v but_o visible_a death_n that_o which_o we_o carry_v about_o with_o we_o in_o the_o world_n then_o appear_v to_o carry_v we_o out_o of_o the_o world_n that_o which_o sleep_v with_o we_o many_o a_o short_a sleep_n now_o cast_v we_o into_o one_o â—â—ng_a sleep_n this_o be_v proper_o the_o end_n of_o death_n in_o saint_n to_o put_v a_o end_n to_o all_o die_a for_o it_o be_v a_o real_a truth_n though_o a_o mystery_n to_o the_o world_n that_o saint_n die_v whilst_o they_o live_v and_o live_v when_o they_o die_v so_o that_o this_o end_n of_o death_n be_v a_o saint_n glory_n not_o his_o grief_n not_o what_o he_o fear_v but_o what_o he_o hope_v for_o count_v himself_o most_o miserable_a of_o all_o man_n if_o death_n end_n be_v not_o to_o put_v a_o end_n to_o his_o die_a life_n the_o other_o main_a end_n in_o death_n be_v to_o pluck_v up_o the_o flower_n of_o heaven_n that_o grow_v in_o the_o earth_n by_o the_o root_n that_o they_o may_v be_v plant_v in_o their_o own_o kingdom_n and_o flourish_v there_o for_o ever_o i_o mean_v those_o precious_a soul_n of_o saint_n which_o be_v here_o enclose_v in_o those_o earthly_a mould_n of_o our_o body_n by_o which_o the_o beauty_n of_o those_o heavenly_a flower_n be_v exceed_o short_a of_o that_o glory_n they_o shall_v have_v with_o christ_n above_o and_o do_v many_o time_n taste_v and_o savour_n of_o the_o earth_n they_o grow_v in_o christ_n be_v the_o proper_a root_n of_o those_o branch_n and_o heaven_n the_o only_a place_n for_o they_o to_o grow_v and_o flourish_v in_o now_o death_n come_v only_o to_o transplant_v they_o from_o earth_n to_o heaven_n to_o crrumble_v that_o clay_n into_o dust_n which_o hold_v these_o flower_n of_o heaven_n so_o fast_o that_o they_o can_v get_v home_o into_o their_o own_o kingdom_n now_o a_o saint_n may_v well_o glory_n over_o this_o end_n of_o death_n for_o death_n be_v herein_o the_o soul_n servant_n to_o have_v it_o home_o to_o glory_n and_o to_o unprison_v it_o from_o all_o the_o bond_n it_o lie_v under_o but_o last_o a_o believe_a saint_n through_o christ_n may_v glory_v over_o death_n in_o its_o victory_n my_o meaning_n be_v the_o victory_n which_o saint_n have_v over_o death_n death_n in_o the_o will_n of_o god_n lay_v saint_n to_o sleep_v in_o their_o corruptible_a body_n but_o saint_n through_o their_o union_n with_o christ_n rise_v again_o &_o that_o in_o incorruption_n though_o it_o go_v to_o the_o dust_n corrupt_a and_o noisome_a clay_n in_o dishonour_n and_o in_o weakness_n like_o a_o natural_a body_n yet_o christ_n will_v raise_v it_o again_o a_o spiritual_a body_n full_a of_o power_n and_o glory_n there_o be_v no_o loss_n to_o saint_n in_o die_v no_o not_o to_o their_o corruptible_a flesh_n for_o that_o have_v a_o interest_n in_o christ_n and_o christ_n have_v conquer_v death_n for_o his_o people_n though_o their_o body_n shall_v by_o death_n be_v sow_o in_o incorruption_n yet_o they_o shall_v not_o lie_v there_o for_o ever_o the_o grave_n shall_v have_v no_o victory_n but_o shall_v give_v up_o its_o dead_a and_o such_o as_o rise_v in_o christ_n shall_v rise_v as_o christ_n spiritual_a body_n though_o the_o earth_n shall_v have_v leave_n to_o root_v the_o corruption_n of_o the_o body_n of_o saint_n yet_o christ_n will_v preserve_v his_o interest_n and_o raise_v it_o as_o the_o fruit_n of_o his_o redemption_n &_o resurrection_n even_o a_o spiritual_a body_n death_n have_v its_o office_n and_o the_o grave_a its_o proper_a work_n but_o christ_n have_v the_o command_n of_o both_o when_o death_n
