such_o i_o conceive_v the_o rise_n of_o the_o dead_a will_v be_v not_o a_o partial_a but_o a_o total_a resurrection_n of_o the_o person_n not_o first_o the_o body_n raise_v and_o then_o a_o intelligent_a soul_n be_v inject_v thereinto_o for_o the_o body_n can_v rise_v or_o come_v out_o of_o its_o grave_a without_o a_o spirit_n of_o life_n or_o such_o a_o sort_n of_o soul_n as_o be_v natural_a suitable_a and_o fit_v for_o that_o performance_n i_o do_v therefore_o reject_v the_o expression_n by_o he_o use_v viz._n the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o body_n because_o it_o be_v not_o where_o use_v in_o the_o scripture_n and_o because_o there_o be_v no_o such_o thing_n in_o nature_n as_o that_o a_o body_n shall_v rise_v and_o live_v without_o a_o soul_n what_o rise_v therefore_o be_v not_o only_o the_o body_n but_o the_o person_n which_o be_v dead_a a_o very_a like_a or_o his_o very_a same_o person_n which_o before_o have_v die_v mr._n w._n in_o the_o conclusion_n of_o this_o objection_n say_v to_o his_o opposer_n that_o it_o be_v a_o strange_a inference_n you_o draw_v from_o this_o text_n that_o because_o it_o be_v certain_a that_o christ_n be_v rise_v that_o therefore_o raise_v uncorruptible_a and_o we_o who_o be_v then_o alive_a shall_v be_v change_v and_o the_o last_o verse_n of_o this_o chapter_n he_o add_v therefore_o my_o belove_a brethren_n be_v you_o give_v i_o a_o firm_a ground_n of_o persuasion_n that_o he_o either_o do_v not_o know_v of_o this_o opinion_n or_o he_o do_v not_o believe_v it_o for_o if_o he_o have_v believe_v this_o doctrine_n to_o be_v true_a i_o think_v he_o can_v not_o have_v forget_v or_o forbear_v to_o give_v his_o disciple_n comfort_v from_o that_o topick_n because_o such_o comfort_n will_v have_v be_v much_o near_a than_o those_o which_o he_o derive_v from_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o resurrection_n and_o will_v have_v be_v both_o a_o more_o short_a and_o sure_a way_n to_o that_o salvation_n and_o future_a happiness_n which_o man_n desire_v and_o therefore_o if_o st._n paul_n have_v believe_v this_o doctrine_n to_o be_v true_a i_o think_v he_o can_v have_v no_o reason_n for_o his_o balk_v it_o in_o this_o place_n but_o in_o congruity_n of_o reason_n must_v have_v say_v brethren_n comfort_v yourselves_o against_o sorrow_n for_o your_o friend_n death_n and_o the_o fear_n of_o your_o own_o by_o consider_v the_o happy_a state_n of_o those_o which_o die_v in_o the_o lord_n for_o that_o their_o spirit_n or_o soul_n immediate_o
upon_o part_v from_o their_o body_n either_o return_n to_o god_n who_o give_v they_o and_o be_v receive_v into_o heaven_n and_o happiness_n or_o they_o shall_v be_v carry_v by_o angel_n into_o objection_n he_o answer_v concessive_o and_o say_v i_o do_v partly_o acknowledge_v the_o first_o part_n of_o what_o you_o say_v that_o scripture_n do_v frequent_o make_v mention_n of_o that_o great_a day_n and_o again_o that_o the_o great_a reward_n and_o punishment_n be_v reserve_v to_o that_o day_n but_o i_o deny_v the_o late_a part_n of_o what_o you_o say_v because_o the_o scripture_n speak_v of_o the_o spirit_n of_o just_a man_n make_v perfect_a and_o of_o the_o soul_n of_o the_o thief_n be_v in_o paradise_n that_o day_n he_o die_v and_o of_o the_o spirit_n of_o every_o man_n return_v to_o god_n at_o death_n to_o be_v deal_v with_o according_a to_o what_o they_o do_v in_o the_o body_n and_o this_o he_o say_v be_v enough_o to_o blunt_v the_o edge_n of_o his_o present_a objection_n and_o hereunto_o i_o reply_v that_o what_o he_o have_v say_v concern_v the_o spirit_n of_o just_a man_n make_v perfect_a have_v before_o be_v answer_v and_o so_o have_v that_o of_o the_o thief_n be_v soul_n be_v in_o paradise_n that_o day_n and_o prove_v to_o be_v invalid_a testimony_n of_o the_o soul_n separate_a subsistence_n his_o three_o testimony_n of_o the_o spirit_n return_v to_o god_n seem_v to_o be_v misrecited_n for_o the_o text_n do_v not_o say_v it_o return_v to_o god_n to_o be_v deal_v with_o according_a to_o what_o they_o do_v in_o the_o body_n which_o word_n he_o adjoin_v with_o as_o much_o confidence_n to_o the_o text_n as_o if_o they_o may_v be_v there_o find_v write_v and_o be_v part_n of_o the_o text_n itself_o so_o as_o unwary_a and_o unexamine_v reader_n may_v soon_o be_v mistake_v thereupon_o in_o what_o manner_n and_o to_o what_o purpose_n solomon_n may_v intend_v this_o return_n of_o soul_n to_o god_n have_v be_v before_o dispute_v and_o i_o still_o before_o that_o there_o be_v no_o mention_n in_o scripture_n of_o such_o expectation_n at_o or_o soon_o after_o the_o time_n of_o man_n death_n he_o give_v we_o here_o three_o of_o the_o most_o pregnant_a instance_n which_o he_o can_v find_v in_o scripture_n for_o prove_v that_o reward_n and_o punishment_n be_v bestow_v by_o god_n at_o the_o time_n of_o man_n death_n but_o the_o force_n of_o these_o instance_n have_v before_o be_v obstruct_v by_o those_o answer_n which_o have_v be_v several_o give_v they_o in_o their_o proper_a place_n i_o be_o not_o without_o some_o temptation_n of_o draw_v out_o of_o the_o scripture_n a_o catalogue_n of_o such_o text_n as_o do_v with_o great_a evidence_n and_o strength_n set_v forth_o and_o prove_v that_o the_o time_n of_o the_o resurrection_n spirit_n which_o act_n the_o person_n and_o as_o well_o the_o head_n as_o the_o member_n so_o long_o as_o life_n continue_v in_o the_o body_n next_o to_o which_o the_o breath_n have_v a_o principal_a and_o absolute_o necessary_a faculty_n and_o power_n of_o fan_v and_o inflame_v such_o particle_n of_o the_o blood_n as_o be_v employ_v in_o every_o part_n of_o the_o body_n and_o for_o refrigerate_v the_o internal_a part_n of_o the_o body_n with_o a_o perpetual_a refreshment_n which_o keep_v the_o paristaltick_a motion_n always_o in_o action_n among_o the_o inward_a and_o most_o vital_a part_n of_o the_o body_n whence_o daily_a experience_n assure_v we_o that_o by_o stop_v of_o the_o breath_n but_o for_o some_o few_o moment_n the_o spirit_n of_o life_n in_o man_n become_v absolute_o suffocate_v and_o extinguish_v and_o without_o breath_n no_o humane_a art_n or_o power_n can_v prolong_v the_o life_n of_o the_o person_n or_o other_o animal_n whatsoever_o concern_v nutriment_n it_o be_v only_o so_o far_o necessary_a to_o the_o life_n of_o the_o creature_n as_o the_o blood_n thereof_o waste_v and_o be_v consume_v by_o the_o circular_a continual_a motion_n and_o the_o inflammation_n thereof_o in_o some_o long_o continue_v and_o weaken_v disease_n the_o motion_n of_o the_o blood_n have_v be_v so_o weak_a and_o the_o inflammation_n thereof_o
so_o faint_a as_o that_o in_o such_o person_n there_o need_v no_o nutriment_n in_o a_o long_a time_n for_o restore_v the_o waste_n of_o blood_n in_o such_o person_n but_o in_o ordinary_a way_n of_o live_v our_o experience_n assure_v we_o that_o if_o the_o daily_a waste_n of_o blood_n be_v not_o supply_v by_o nourishment_n suitable_a to_o the_o consumption_n thereof_o the_o person_n must_v diminish_v in_o his_o strength_n and_o vigour_n and_o final_o perish_v and_o die_v for_o want_v of_o such_o sustenance_n as_o shall_v restore_v the_o stock_n of_o the_o waste_a blood_n and_o furnish_v the_o several_a part_n with_o such_o moisture_n and_o refreshment_n as_o thereunto_o shall_v be_v absolute_o needful_a and_o require_v we_o find_v a_o instance_n of_o this_o condition_n in_o david_n
