howbeit_o we_o do_v not_o as_o yet_o â—ee_o the_o same_o these_o be_v word_n forcible_a and_o of_o wonderful_a efficacy_n and_o he_o in_o who_o mind_n they_o be_v firm_o fix_v will_v be_v as_o i_o think_v little_o move_v with_o desire_n of_o riches_n and_o pleasure_n of_o this_o world_n for_o how_o can_v it_o be_v that_o one_o shall_v so_o set_v his_o mind_n upon_o these_o transitory_a riches_n and_o delight_n if_o he_o believe_v those_o thing_n which_o be_v here_o speak_v for_o when_o worldly_a wealth_n and_o terrene_a treasure_n be_v compare_v to_o these_o thing_n it_o appear_v straight_o how_o those_o thing_n of_o the_o world_n endure_v but_o a_o small_a time_n and_o do_v soon_o pass_v away_o but_o these_o thing_n continue_v for_o ever_o and_o do_v never_o fail_v nor_o fade_v moreover_o all_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o world_n be_v unpure_a and_o do_v defile_v we_o for_o there_o be_v no_o man_n here_o so_o godly_a but_o in_o one_o respect_n or_o other_o he_o be_v carry_v away_o and_o defile_v with_o the_o vanity_n and_o pleasant_a thing_n of_o this_o life_n but_o this_o inheritance_n be_v undefiled_a and_o pure_a and_o he_o that_o possess_v the_o same_o remain_v for_o ever_o immaculate_a final_o this_o inheritance_n do_v not_o fade_v do_v not_o decay_n neither_o be_v ever_o subject_a to_o any_o corruption_n but_o every_o yearthly_a thing_n although_o it_o be_v as_o hard_o as_o iron_n and_o stone_n be_v nevertheless_o change_v and_o continue_v not_o still_o as_o soon_o as_o man_n also_o become_v old_a his_o beauty_n be_v go_v and_o he_o become_v loathsome_a and_o unamiable_a howbeit_o this_o inheritance_n be_v far_o from_o mutation_n or_o change_n it_o always_o remain_v it_o be_v always_o fresh_a and_o flourish_v there_o be_v no_o pleasure_n so_o great_a on_o the_o earth_n which_o will_v not_o by_o continuance_n become_v loathsome_a and_o tedious_a as_o we_o see_v there_o be_v at_o the_o last_o a_o tediousness_n in_o all_o thing_n but_o our_o good_a thing_n here_o speak_v of_o be_v otherwise_o whereof_o there_o be_v not_o satiety_n for_o ever_o all_o which_o we_o obtain_v in_o christ_n through_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n when_o we_o firm_o believe_v that_o they_o be_v free_o give_v unto_o us._n for_o how_o shall_v we_o miserable_a man_n by_o our_o own_o work_n merit_v those_o so_o great_a good_a thing_n which_o no_o reason_n or_o understanding_n of_o man_n be_v able_a so_o much_o as_o to_o comprehend_v or_o by_o imagination_n of_o heart_n once_o to_o conceive_v reserve_v in_o heaven_n for_o you_o this_o inheritance_n immortal_a undefiled_a and_o that_o fade_v not_o away_o be_v undoubted_o we_o it_o be_v only_o for_o a_o little_a while_n remove_v and_o keep_v from_o our_o sight_n until_o these_o eye_n be_v close_v up_o and_o this_o mortal_a life_n end_v then_o shall_v we_o certain_o find_v and_o see_v the_o same_o unless_o we_o be_v unbelieve_v and_o because_o we_o shall_v not_o doubt_n of_o the_o certainty_n thereof_o the_o apostle_n here_o add_v that_o this_o inheritance_n whereunto_o no_o corruption_n can_v cleave_v be_v reserve_v for_o we_o in_o heaven_n which_o be_v keep_v by_o the_o power_n of_o god_n through_o faith_n unto_o salvation_n we_o in_o hope_n say_v the_o apostle_n look_v for_o this_o excellent_a inheritance_n whereunto_o we_o come_v by_o faith_n for_o these_o do_v in_o this_o sort_n follow_v one_o a_o other_o by_o the_o word_n be_v wrought_v in_o we_o faith_n by_o faith_n that_o new_a birth_n and_o by_o this_o new_a birth_n we_o come_v unto_o hope_n so_o that_o we_o certain_o look_v for_o these_o thing_n and_o be_v through_o assure_v thereof_o wherefore_o saint_n peter_n fit_o here_o say_v that_o these_o thing_n must_v be_v do_z by_o faith_n and_o not_o by_o our_o work_n the_o apostle_n here_o express_o say_v you_o be_v by_o the_o power_n of_o god_n keep_v unto_o salvation_n there_o be_v many_o who_o have_v hear_v the_o gospel_n how_o that_o faith_n without_o the_o especial_a assistance_n of_o god_n spirit_n how_o then_o shall_v we_o by_o our_o own_o strength_n arrogate_v that_o which_o of_o all_o other_o be_v most_o excellent_a namely_o to_o believe_v these_o cogitation_n therefore_o be_v a_o mere_a dream_n

further_o that_o it_o may_v be_v sober_a watchful_a and_o apt_a to_o good_a work_n and_o not_o as_o some_o hypocrite_n wide_o the_o vizard_n of_o feign_a holiness_n do_v to_o hurt_v or_o destroy_v temperance_n consist_v not_o only_o in_o eat_v and_o drink_v but_o in_o observe_v that_o due_a mean_a which_o knowledge_n whereof_o we_o speak_v afore_o do_v prescribe_v to_o be_v use_v in_o all_o our_o life_n and_o conversation_n aswell_o in_o word_n and_o work_v as_o in_o manner_n and_o deal_n that_o no_o man_n frame_v himself_o to_o live_v after_o a_o more_o sumptuous_a and_o nice_a sort_n than_o be_v convenient_a that_o all_o superfinitie_n of_o apparel_n and_o bravery_n be_v avoid_v and_o that_o no_o man_n go_v more_o pompouslie_o and_o gorgeouslie_o then_o be_v meet_v or_o stand_v with_o christian_a modesty_n but_o saint_n peter_n in_o these_o case_n inescribe_v no_o certain_a rule_n nither_o limit_v any_o bound_n for_o the_o same_o which_o thing_n our_o papistical_a munckishe_a votary_n presume_v to_o do_v comprise_v these_o matter_n within_o the_o compass_n of_o certain_a canon_n and_o rule_n devise_v out_o of_o their_o own_o brain_n ti_v man_n to_o a_o straicte_a observation_n of_o these_o thing_n after_o one_o and_o the_o selfsame_o manner_n which_o thing_n to_o be_v use_v among_o christian_n be_v unpossible_a to_o wit_n that_o a_o certain_a set_v your_o profession_n the_o world_n will_v not_o cease_v to_o hate_v and_o persecute_v you_o here_o then_o must_v patience_n be_v show_v forth_o which_o be_v one_o of_o the_o fruit_n of_o faith_n and_o this_o holiness_n of_o thyself_o or_o by_o thy_o own_o merit_n but_o that_o thou_o be_v therefore_o holy_a for_o that_o thou_o haste_v the_o word_n of_o god_n for_o that_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n be_v thou_o and_o for_o that_o thou_o be_v become_v entire_o righteous_a and_o holy_a through_o christ_n these_o thing_n must_v thou_o confess_v if_o thou_o will_v be_v a_o christian_n for_o and_o to_o fight_v against_o sin_n this_o diversity_n and_o variety_n that_o in_o apparaunce_n seem_v to_o be_v in_o they_o marvellous_o gravel_v and_o offend_v these_o great_a rabbin_n and_o wonderful_o blind_v their_o sense_n from_o right_o understand_v the_o true_a meaning_n of_o the_o scripture_n thus_o therefore_o stay_v thou_o thyself_o and_o for_o thy_o sure_a conceive_n of_o this_o and_o a_o token_n of_o the_o near_o approach_v of_o the_o latter_a day_n when_o as_o man_n shall_v loose_o live_v accord_v to_o their_o own_o wilful_a lust_n and_o pleasure_n and_o when_o as_o they_o shall_v presumptuous_o ask_v where_o be_v now_o the_o promise_n of_o his_o come_n the_o world_n have_v continue_v thus_o long_o and_o every_o thing_n be_v in_o the_o same_o case_n as_o it_o hitherto_o have_v be_v what_o strange_a thing_n shall_v there_o now_o happen_v saint_n peter_n therefore_o forewarn_v we_o that_o we_o be_v not_o light_o carry_v away_o with_o these_o wicked_a speech_n but_o rather_o know_v that_o they_o be_v undoubted_a sign_n and_o token_n that_o this_o day_n will_v come_v and_o that_o very_o short_o for_o this_o they_o willing_o know_v not_o that_o the_o heaven_n be_v of_o old_a and_o the_o earth_n that_o be_v of_o the_o water_n and_o by_o the_o water_n by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n wherefore_o the_o world_n that_o then_o be_v perish_v overflow_v with_o the_o water_n they_o be_v such_o perverse_a and_o froward_a person_n say_v he_o that_o they_o disdain_v and_o grudge_v to_o bestow_v any_o time_n or_o labour_n in_o learning_n the_o truth_n in_o so_o much_o that_o with_o a_o flear_n disdain_n they_o resist_v and_o can_v not_o be_v bring_v so_o much_o as_o even_o to_o read_v the_o scripture_n yea_o they_o be_v so_o wilful_a and_o obstinate_a that_o they_o will_v not_o seem_v either_o to_o think_v or_o know_v how_o that_o the_o same_o thing_n come_v to_o pass_v also_o in_o the_o old_a world_n when_o noah_n build_v the_o ark_n namely_o how_o that_o the_o earth_n be_v separate_v from_o the_o water_n be_v in_o the_o beginning_n make_v by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o how_o again_o the_o same_o earth_n be_v whole_o overflow_v and_o drown_v with_o water_n and_o how_o that_o man_n live_v then_o so_o secure_a and_o careless_a that_o they_o look_v for_o no_o harm_n to_o come_v unto_o they_o neither_o thought_n of_o any_o destruction_n at_o hand_n and_o yet_o sudden_o the_o flood_n cover_v they_o all_o of_o all_o which_o these_o perverse_a and_o froward_a person_n be_v willing_o and_o wilful_o ignorant_a the_o plain_a meaning_n of_o his_o word_n be_v as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v if_o god_n then_o destroy_v the_o world_n with_o water_n and_o by_o a_o terrible_a example_n declare_v that_o he_o be_v able_a to_o drown_v it_o universallie_o how_o much_o more_o will_v he_o destroy_v it_o now_o have_v so_o much_o and_o so_o often_o in_o plain_a and_o sundry_a word_n and_o in_o so_o many_o several_a place_n threaten_v and_o promise_a thesame_n heaven_n and_o earth_n have_v their_o beginning_n and_o creation_n by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n they_o be_v not_o from_o everlasting_a and_o the_o water_n that_o rest_v above_o in_o the_o cloud_n be_v by_o a_o firmament_n separate_v from_o the_o water_n which_o be_v in_o sea_n and_o river_n upon_o the_o earth_n below_o so_o that_o the_o earth_n which_o be_v overwhelm_v and_o surround_v with_o the_o deep_a be_v by_o the_o worde_n of_o god_n part_v from_o the_o water_n and_o become_v dry_a land_n stand_v and_o be_v hem_v in_o by_o the_o water_n and_o that_o which_o moses_n at_o large_a describe_v be_v by_o saint_n peter_n here_o but_o light_o touch_v by_o the_o same_o worde_n of_o god_n whereby_o they_o be_v make_v and_o create_v be_v all_o thing_n therein_o preserve_v and_o govern_v for_o it_o be_v not_o there_o nature_n so_o to_o stand_v or_o to_o remain_v in_o such_o situation_n and_o therefore_o if_o god_n by_o his_o unspeakable_a power_n do_v not_o uphold_v preserve_v and_o govern_v they_o all_o thing_n will_v quick_o come_v to_o a_o wreck_n and_o ruin_n and_o be_v sonedrench_v cover_v and_o whole_o overflow_v with_o water_n but_o mighty_a be_v thou_o worde_n which_o god_n speak_v when_o he_o say_v let_v the_o water_n under_o the_o heaven_n be_v gather_v into_o one_o place_n and_o let_v the_o dry_a land_n appear_v that_o it_o let_v the_o water_n depart_v aside_o and_o give_v place_n that_o the_o dry_a land_n may_v be_v see_v and_o that_o man_n may_v dwell_v thereon_o for_o otherwise_o as_o i_o say_v afore_o by_o nature_n the_o water_n will_v overflowe_v and_o cover_v the_o whole_a earth_n which_o that_o it_o so_o come_v not_o to_o pass_v be_v as_o strange_a a_o miracle_n as_o any_o be_v among_o all_o the_o work_v of_o god_n now_o say_v saint_n peter_n these_o wilful_a flouter_n and_o stiffnecked_a derider_n be_v so_o perverse_a and_o inconsiderate_a that_o they_o malicious_o think_v scorn_v to_o show_v this_o honour_n to_o the_o holy_a ghost_n to_o read_v the_o scripture_n and_o therein_o to_o see_v how_o god_n keep_v preserve_v and_o govern_v the_o world_n within_o the_o water_n whereby_o they_o may_v well_o perceive_v and_o see_v that_o all_o thing_n be_v in_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o sith_o he_o have_v once_o already_o destroy_v the_o world_n by_o bring_v thereupon_o the_o general_a deluge_n so_o also_o when_o it_o please_v he_o can_v he_o do_v unto_o us._n for_o the_o example_n thereof_o ought_v so_o great_o to_o move_v each_o one_o of_o we_o that_o as_o he_o then_o perform_v that_o which_o afore_o he_o threaten_v so_o we_o shall_v now_o none_o otherwise_o think_v but_o that_o he_o will_v sure_o abide_v by_o his_o word_n and_o do_v that_o which_o he_o have_v speak_v concern_v us._n but_o the_o heaven_n and_o earth_n which_o be_v now_o be_v keep_v by_o the_o same_o word_n in_o store_n and_o reserve_v unto_o fire_n against_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n and_o of_o the_o destruction_n of_o ungodlie_a man_n in_o the_o old_a time_n when_o god_n drown_v the_o whole_a world_n in_o the_o general_a flood_n the_o water_n in_o most_o abundance_n gush_v out_o of_o the_o cloud_n above_o spout_v out_o of_o the_o bowel_n of_o the_o earth_n below_o and_o on_o every_o side_n such_o stream_n increase_v that_o nothing_o be_v now_o to_o be_v see_v but_o water_n the_o earth_n accord_v to_o her_o shall_v then_o nothing_o appear_v but_o fire_n as_o aforetyme_o there_o be_v nothing_o see_v but_o water_n hereof_o also_o s._n paul_n ij_o thess_n i_o when_o the_o lord_n jesus_n shall_v show_v
