the_o true_a light_n and_o these_o â—â—en_o stand_v in_o a_o false_a liberty_n nor_o be_v wilâ—â—g_v to_o pay_v tithe_n to_o the_o lord_n but_o only_o â—â—e_v thousand_o part_n and_o yet_o make_v no_o â—â—l_a payment_n of_o either_o by_o tithe_n be_v mean_v the_o outward_a conversation_n in_o the_o same_o manner_n they_o lie_v down_o one_o load_n and_o be_v willing_a to_o take_v up_o another_o and_o yet_o carry_v neither_o but_o he_o that_o walk_v the_o true_a path_n do_v not_o thus_o urge_v one_o thing_n that_o he_o may_v neglect_v another_o but_o be_v bring_v forth_o both_o into_o use_n and_o study_v how_o to_o render_v both_o to_o the_o lord_n but_o they_o who_o be_v describe_v above_o be_v those_o false_a man_n who_o admit_v of_o a_o false_a liberty_n not_o can_v any_o one_o gain_n any_o victory_n over_o they_o or_o resist_v they_o except_o he_o be_v one_o that_o be_v come_v to_o regeneration_n for_o such_o have_v the_o true_a essence_n of_o the_o thing_n and_o in_o the_o true_a light_n the_o error_n of_o these_o libertine_n be_v heheld_v and_o they_o see_v wherein_o they_o err_v and_o how_o they_o go_v beyond_o alâ—_n due_a bound_n nor_o do_v right_o persevere_v otherwise_o they_o be_v above_o every_o one_o understanding_n and_o make_v nothing_o of_o thoâ—â—_n who_o will_v resist_v they_o because_o they_o hauâ—_n a_o sort_n of_o supernatural_a understanding_n which_o they_o derive_v from_o that_o claritude_n which_o former_o have_v shine_v in_o they_o 〈◊〉_d therefore_o that_o be_v still_o a_o natural_a man_n 〈◊〉_d not_o reach_v nor_o understand_v they_o anâ—_n much_o less_o oppose_v himself_o against_o they_o yâ—â—_n though_o he_o be_v a_o famous_a learned_a man._n but_o he_o that_o will_v reach_v they_o and_o oppose_v himself_o to_o they_o and_o get_v the_o victory_n over_o they_o it_o behoove_v he_o to_o be_v not_o a_o animal_n man_n but_o a_o spiritual_a bear_v of_o god_n of_o who_o paul_n say_v the_o spiritual_a man_n judge_v all_o thing_n etc._n etc._n else_o â—et_v he_o let_v all_o dispute_n alone_a unless_o he_o will_v be_v make_v a_o laughingstock_n because_o â—hey_n be_v make_v yet_o more_o angry_a and_o provoke_v by_o his_o weak_a argumentation_n we_o must_v know_v that_o righteousness_n â—nd_v unrighteousness_n be_v so_o alike_o one_o to_o â—he_v other_o as_o be_v two_o hair_n of_o the_o same_o head_n but_o god_n can_v divide_v those_o hair_n â—nd_v expose_v their_o inside_n to_o be_v behold_v of_o men._n the_o way_n of_o happiness_n and_o the_o â—ay_n of_o unrighteousness_n be_v go_v in_o by_o â—he_n same_o step_n and_o the_o one_o lead_v to_o â—ighteousness_n but_o the_o other_o to_o unrighteousness_n we_o have_v a_o similitude_n in_o a_o â—reat_a heap_n of_o money_n that_o make_v up_o one_o â—ertain_a sum._n now_o if_o a_o honest_a just_a man_n 〈◊〉_d to_o count_v it_o and_o to_o give_v the_o total_a sum_n â—â—though_o he_o may_v not_o right_o know_v some_o â—â—eces_n thereof_o yet_o if_o he_o count_v they_o hoâ—â—estly_o and_o keep_v back_o none_o of_o they_o for_o his_o own_o use_n but_o compleat_v the_o full_a sum_n god_n do_v not_o therefore_o reprove_v he_o for_o his_o ingenious_a mind_n but_o he_o who_o take_v any_o piece_n from_o they_o be_v a_o thief_n and_o must_v expect_v the_o judgement_n now_o he_o be_v the_o man_n who_o take_v some_o from_o they_o who_o will_v excuse_v his_o carnality_n by_o the_o help_n of_o the_o scripture_n in_o every_o illumination_n revelation_n and_o understanding_n the_o essence_n only_a 〈◊〉_d a_o thing_n be_v to_o be_v expect_v a_o man_n have_v need_v to_o have_v diligent_a care_n about_o all_o that_o he_o meet_v with_o lest_o he_o admit_v that_o which_o be_v a_o fault_n chap._n xv._o a_o man_n must_v endeavour_v to_o lead_v 〈◊〉_d innocent_a be_v now_o become_v subject_n to_o the_o law_n of_o god_n concern_v which_o paul_n say_v rom._n 8.2_o the_o law_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o life_n in_o christ_n jesus_n have_v set_v i_o free_a from_o the_o law_n of_o sin_n and_o of_o death_n to_o this_o belong_v also_o that_o say_n in_o rom._n 7._o a_o man_n therefore_o be_v no_o long_o a_o servant_n of_o sin_n in_o his_o mind_n but_o be_v set_v free_a from_o that_o law_n of_o sin_n in_o his_o mind_n unto_o the_o law_n of_o god_n although_o he_o still_o serve_v in_o his_o member_n the_o law_n of_o sin_n sin_n be_v cast_v out_o of_o the_o they_o in_o such_o a_o manner_n as_o if_o they_o be_v cut_v out_o of_o his_o very_a heart_n and_o this_o he_o do_v indeed_o when_o he_o certain_o see_v that_o they_o be_v not_o speak_v in_o vain_a nor_o do_v beat_v the_o air_n for_o word_n be_v extort_a from_o he_o with_o difficulty_n and_o pain_n also_o and_o this_o be_v the_o difference_n betwixt_o those_o who_o speak_v out_o of_o illumination_n or_o revelation_n and_o those_o who_o speak_v out_o of_o the_o essence_n substance_n or_o truth_n of_o the_o thing_n they_o speak_v with_o joy_n and_o delight_n but_o these_o with_o grief_n and_o sorrow_n they_o be_v defile_v with_o pride_n but_o these_o speak_v out_o of_o humility_n to_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n alone_o and_o the_o amendment_n of_o their_o neighbour_n great_a also_o be_v the_o difference_n betwixt_o those_o who_o have_v their_o knowledge_n and_o understanding_n only_o from_o read_v or_o hear_v and_o those_o to_o who_o it_o be_v reveal_v who_o understanding_n be_v endow_v by_o illumination_n moreover_o there_o be_v another_o and_o great_a difference_n as_o be_v abovesaid_a betwixt_o those_o who_o have_v revelation_n and_o internal_a illumination_n and_o those_o who_o be_v come_v to_o the_o essence_n or_o substance_n itself_o of_o the_o thing_n and_o do_v apprehend_v the_o truth_n thereof_o for_o they_o have_v their_o knowledge_n acquire_v only_o by_o illumination_n and_o therefore_o understand_v not_o what_o god_n the_o truth_n and_o essence_n be_v by_o itself_o untiâ—_n they_o arrive_v thereat_o themselves_o they_o know_v by_o illumination_n that_o the_o thing_n be_v but_o not_o what_o the_o thing_n be_v until_o god_n by_o his_o grace_n lead_v they_o so_o far_o by_o and_o through_o death_n chap._n xvii_o if_o any_o but_o in_o a_o just_a measure_n and_o order_n and_o that_o to_o his_o own_o glory_n and_o for_o the_o promotion_n and_o growth_n of_o the_o man_n all_o which_o will_v a_o man_n hinder_v if_o be_v impatient_a under_o the_o cross_n he_o shall_v not_o wait_v upon_o god_n great_a be_v the_o fruit_n of_o affliction_n and_o therefore_o in_o it_o be_v the_o lord_n to_o be_v expect_v i_o expect_v the_o lord_n from_o the_o morning_n watch_n even_o until_o the_o evening_n say_v the_o psalmist_n and_o isaiah_n say_v bless_a be_v all_o they_o that_o wait_v upon_o the_o lord_n for_o they_o that_o wait_v upon_o he_o shall_v never_o be_v confound_v the_o psalmist_n say_v in_o wait_v i_o wait_v upon_o the_o lord_n and_o he_o regard_v i_o now_o if_o there_o be_v neither_o faithfulness_n nor_o favour_n be_v to_o be_v turn_v upon_o god_n and_o in_o all_o thing_n we_o ought_v to_o set_v he_o for_o our_o mark_n and_o end_n and_o not_o thing_n create_v if_o we_o will_v continue_v pure_a and_o unburthened_a the_o natural_a state_n by_o the_o fall_n of_o adam_n be_v this_o that_o we_o shall_v turn_v our_o eye_n upon_o those_o thing_n from_o whence_o spring_n up_o to_o we_o nothing_o but_o blindness_n and_o ignorance_n which_o thing_n also_o be_v again_o change_v in_o a_o true_a change_n which_o tend_v to_o their_o original_n but_o that_o then_o happen_v with_o grief_n and_o with_o not_o glory_n thereof_o belong_v to_o man_n but_o to_o god_n alone_o and_o thus_o man_n be_v to_o abide_v in_o humility_n without_o judge_v or_o contemn_v of_o other_o chap._n xxix_o sin_n be_v hate_v in_o a_o double_a sense_n and_o that_o by_o divers_a sort_n of_o person_n for_o some_o do_v hate_v sin_n because_o of_o affliction_n they_o thereby_o be_v afflict_v and_o terrify_v in_o their_o conscience_n as_o also_o because_o of_o the_o loss_n they_o sustain_v by_o it_o as_o the_o loss_n of_o their_o soul_n of_o heaven_n and_o of_o eternal_a salvation_n and_o if_o these_o two_o be_v not_o viz._n the_o torment_n of_o conscience_n and_o the_o loss_n of_o heaven_n they_o can_v love_v sin_n and_o be_v friend_n with_o it_o yea_o become_v to_o be_v unite_v and_o to_o be_v in_o league_n therewith_o and_o it_o be_v thus_o prove_v because_o that_o same_o hatred_n of_o sin_n proceed_v not_o from_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o mind_n nor_o from_o regeneration_n in_o as_o much_o as_o there_o be_v in_o this_o state_n still_o leave_v the_o old_a life_n to_o which_o belong_v judgement_n and_o condemnation_n and_o be_v that_o that_o must_v die_v the_o death_n whereas_o other_o viz._n such_o as_o be_v transplant_v into_o god_n do_v hate_n sin_n out_o of_o the_o nature_n of_o their_o mind_n and_o out_o of_o regeneration_n for_o the_o new_a life_n which_o be_v in_o they_o will_v not_o bear_v sin_n nor_o suffer_v it_o to_o be_v and_o that_o not_o because_o of_o that_o torment_n of_o conscience_n or_o loss_n of_o salvation_n but_o out_o of_o its_o own_o nature_n by_o reason_n of_o its_o tenderness_n and_o its_o holy_a temper_n for_o this_o nature_n can_v endure_v nothing_o that_o be_v strange_a for_o it_o be_v the_o newman_n christ_n jesus_n who_o be_v god_n himself_o hence_o

death_n be_v not_o neither_o will_v there_o be_v a_o resurrection_n therefore_o all_o thing_n work_v together_o for_o good_a for_o the_o elect_a now_o that_o which_o first_o depart_v from_o earthly_a a_o new_a promise_n of_o grace_n because_o grace_n in_o the_o regenerate_v have_v take_v most_o deep_a root_n according_a to_o its_o own_o true_a nature_n so_o that_o such_o have_v certain_o no_o need_n to_o seek_v out_o some_o remedy_n out_o of_o their_o own_o self_n which_o whilst_o other_o do_v they_o do_v in_o this_o very_a point_n testify_v that_o they_o have_v not_o attain_v to_o that_o another_o thing_n than_o what_o he_o think_v former_o when_o he_o be_v still_o under_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n and_o it_o repent_v he_o much_o that_o he_o ever_o have_v esteem_v himself_o for_o a_o godly_a man_n because_o he_o acknowledge_v the_o contrary_a now_o viz._n that_o he_o have_v be_v a_o sinner_n and_o a_o unrighteous_a man_n but_o not_o a_o good_a man_n and_o now_o god_n take_v
