mercy_n which_o endure_v for_o ever_o and_o thy_o compassion_n which_o never_o fail_v which_o be_v the_o cause_n i_o have_v not_o be_v long_o ago_o consume_v but_o with_o thou_o there_o be_v mercy_n like_o the_o high_a way_n which_o through_o hardness_n and_o want_n of_o true_a understanding_n receive_v not_o the_o seed_n till_o the_o evil_a one_o come_v and_o catch_v it_o away_o nor_o the_o stony_a ground_n which_o hear_v with_o joy_n for_o a_o time_n but_o fall_v away_o as_o soon_o as_o persecution_n arise_v for_o the_o gospel_n sake_n nor_o like_o the_o thorny_a ground_n which_o by_o the_o care_n of_o this_o world_n and_o deceitfulness_n of_o riches_n choke_v the_o word_n which_o it_o hear_v and_o make_v it_o altogether_o unfruitful_a but_o that_o like_a unto_o the_o good_a ground_n i_o may_v hear_v thy_o word_n with_o a_o honest_a and_o a_o good_a heart_n understand_v it_o and_o keep_v it_o and_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n with_o patience_n in_o that_o measure_n that_o thy_o divine_a wisdom_n shall_v think_v meet_a for_o thy_o glory_n and_o my_o everlasting_a comfort_n open_v likewise_o i_o beseech_v thou_o o_o lord_n the_o door_n of_o utterance_n unto_o thy_o faithful_a servant_n who_o thou_o have_v send_v unto_o we_o to_o open_v our_o eye_n that_o we_o may_v turn_v from_o darkness_n to_o light_n and_o from_o the_o power_n of_o satan_n unto_o god_n that_o we_o may_v receive_v forgiveness_n of_o sin_n and_o a_o inheritance_n among_o they_o which_o be_v sanctify_v by_o faith_n in_o christ_n and_o give_v i_o grace_n to_o submit_v myself_o to_o his_o ministry_n as_o well_o when_o he_o terrify_v i_o with_o judgement_n as_o when_o he_o comfort_v i_o with_o thy_o mercy_n and_o that_o i_o may_v have_v he_o in_o a_o singular_a love_n for_o his_o work_n sake_n because_o he_o watch_v for_o my_o soul_n as_o he_o that_o must_v give_v a_o account_n for_o the_o same_o unto_o his_o master_n and_o give_v i_o grace_n to_o behave_v myself_o in_o the_o holy_a congregation_n with_o comeliness_n and_o reverence_n as_o in_o thy_o presence_n and_o in_o the_o sight_n of_o thy_o holy_a angel_n keep_v i_o from_o drowsiness_n and_o sleepiness_n and_o from_o all_o wander_a thought_n and_o worldly_a imagination_n sanctify_v my_o memory_n that_o it_o may_v be_v apt_a to_o receive_v and_o firm_a to_o remember_v those_o good_a and_o profitable_a doctrine_n which_o shall_v be_v teach_v unto_o we_o out_o of_o thy_o word_n and_o that_o through_o the_o assistance_n of_o thy_o holy_a spirit_n i_o may_v put_v the_o same_o lesson_n in_o practice_n for_o my_o direction_n in_o prosperity_n for_o my_o consolation_n in_o misery_n for_o the_o amendment_n of_o my_o life_n and_o the_o glory_n of_o thy_o name_n and_o that_o this_o day_n which_o godless_a and_o profane_a person_n spend_v in_o their_o own_o lust_n and_o pleasure_n i_o as_o a_o obedient_a servant_n of_o thou_o may_v make_v my_o chief_a delight_n to_o consecrate_v it_o to_o thy_o honour_n and_o glory_n not_o do_v my_o own_o way_n nor_o seek_v my_o own_o will_n nor_o speak_v a_o vain_a word_n but_o that_o cease_v from_o the_o work_n of_o sin_n as_o well_o as_o from_o the_o work_n of_o my_o ordinary_a call_n i_o may_v through_o thy_o blessing_n feel_v in_o my_o heart_n the_o beginning_n of_o that_o eternal_a sabbath_n which_o with_o unspeakable_a joy_n &_o glory_n i_o shall_v celebrate_v altogether_o unworthy_a to_o have_v the_o name_n of_o thy_o mean_a servant_n and_o if_o thou_o shall_v but_o recompense_v i_o according_a to_o my_o desert_n the_o earth_n as_o weary_a of_o such_o a_o sinful_a burden_n shall_v open_v her_o mouth_n and_o swallow_v i_o up_o like_o one_o of_o dathans_n family_n into_o the_o bottomless_a pit_n of_o hell_n for_o if_o thou_o do_v not_o spare_v the_o natural_a branch_n those_o angel_n of_o glorious_a excellency_n but_o hurl_v they_o down_o from_o thy_o heavenly_a habitation_n in_o the_o pain_n of_o hellish_a darkness_n to_o be_v keep_v unto_o damnation_n when_o they_o sin_v but_o once_o against_o thy_o majesty_n and_o do_v expel_v our_o first_o parent_n out_o of_o paradise_n when_o they_o do_v but_o transgress_v one_o of_o thy_o law_n heart_n as_o be_v fit_a to_o meet_v thy_o bless_a majesty_n in_o the_o holy_a assembly_n of_o thy_o saint_n i_o have_v not_o attend_v to_o the_o preach_v of_o thy_o word_n nor_o to_o the_o administration_n of_o thy_o sacrament_n with_o that_o humility_n reverence_n and_o devotion_n that_o i_o shall_v for_o though_o i_o be_v present_a at_o those_o exercise_n in_o my_o body_n yet_o lord_n i_o be_v overtake_v with_o much_o drowsiness_n that_o when_o i_o be_v awake_a my_o mind_n be_v so_o distract_v and_o carry_v away_o with_o vain_a and_o worldly_a thought_n that_o my_o soul_n seem_v to_o be_v absent_a and_o out_o of_o the_o church_n i_o have_v not_o so_o due_o as_o i_o shall_v meditate_a with_o myself_o nor_o confer_v with_o my_o family_n upon_o those_o good_a instruction_n which_o i_o have_v hear_v and_o receive_v out_o of_o thy_o holy_a word_n by_o the_o public_a minister_n for_o default_v whereof_o satan_n have_v steal_v the_o most_o part_n of_o those_o instruction_n out_o of_o my_o heart_n and_o i_o wretched_a creature_n have_v forget_v they_o as_o though_o they_o have_v never_o be_v hear_v and_o my_o family_n do_v not_o thrive_v in_o knowledge_n and_o satisfaction_n under_o my_o government_n as_o they_o shall_v though_o i_o know_v that_o many_o of_o my_o poor_a brethren_n live_v in_o want_n and_o necessity_n some_o in_o pain_n and_o comfortless_a yet_o i_o have_v not_o remember_v to_o relieve_v the_o one_o with_o my_o alm_n nor_o the_o other_o with_o my_o consolation_n but_o have_v feast_v myself_o and_o satisfy_v i_o own_o lust_n i_o have_v spend_v most_o part_n of_o the_o day_n in_o idle_a talk_n vain_a sport_n and_o exercise_n yea_o lord_n i_o have_v etc._n etc._n here_o confess_v what_o fault_n thou_o have_v do_v that_o day_n by_o omission_n or_o commission_n and_o then_o fetch_v a_o deep_a sigh_n from_o thy_o heart_n and_o for_o all_o these_o my_o sin_n my_o conscience_n cry_v guilty_a thy_o law_n condemn_v i_o and_o i_o be_o in_o thy_o hand_n to_o receive_v the_o sentence_n and_o curse_v that_o be_v due_a to_o the_o wilful_a breach_n of_o so_o holy_a a_o commandment_n but_o what_o if_o i_o be_o by_o the_o law_n condemn_v yet_o lord_n thy_o gospel_n assure_v i_o that_o thy_o mercy_n be_v above_o all_o thy_o work_n and_o that_o thy_o grace_n transcend_v thy_o law_n and_o thy_o goodness_n delight_v there_o to_o reign_v where_o sinner_n do_v most_o abound_v in_o the_o multitude_n of_o the_o mercy_n and_o merit_n of_o jesus_n christ_n my_o saviour_n i_o beseech_v thou_o o_o lord_n who_o despise_v not_o the_o sigh_v
