expedient_a for_o king_n to_o exercise_v both_o their_o legislative_a power_n in_o composure_n of_o law_n and_o statute_n for_o direct_v a_o laudable_a conformity_n among_o these_o person_n in_o the_o religious_a observation_n and_o practice_n of_o these_o evangelicall_n and_o supernatural_a duty_n of_o the_o religion_n and_o piety_n whereof_o they_o be_v already_o sufficient_o persuade_v and_o satisfy_v in_o their_o conscience_n and_o also_o their_o judiciary_n power_n in_o punish_v the_o contempt_n or_o neglect_n thereof_o because_o to_o such_o person_n there_o be_v no_o medium_n between_o the_o practice_n of_o these_o duty_n and_o that_o wicked_a lewdness_n or_o profaneness_n the_o restraint_n and_o reformation_n whereof_o gallio_n do_v acknowledge_v to_o be_v direct_o a_o part_n of_o the_o duty_n of_o the_o magistrate_n office_n and_o calling_n but_o for_o other_o person_n who_o be_v not_o of_o the_o same_o persuasion_n concern_v the_o religion_n of_o these_o evangelicall_n duty_n but_o believe_v the_o practice_n thereof_o to_o be_v superstitious_a and_o dishonourable_a to_o god_n and_o another_o form_n of_o worship_n to_o be_v the_o only_a acceptable_a service_n unto_o he_o in_o regard_v the_o practice_n of_o evangelicall_n duty_n in_o such_o person_n can_v proceed_v from_o faith_n and_o trust_n in_o god_n whereby_o they_o may_v expect_v a_o blessing_n from_o he_o upon_o their_o service_n and_o devotion_n but_o rather_o that_o curse_v and_o damnation_n which_o saint_n paul_n affirm_v to_o be_v the_o just_a merit_n of_o all_o act_n of_o worship_n which_o be_v not_o of_o faith_n but_o either_o of_o doubtfulness_n or_o which_o be_v worse_o of_o perfect_a hypocrisy_n and_o dissimulation_n rom._n 14._o last_o the_o enforcement_n of_o such_o a_o conformity_n by_o the_o magistrate_n in_o evangelicall_n worship_n and_o service_n in_o such_o person_n contrary_a to_o their_o conscience_n must_v necessary_o render_v he_o guilty_a not_o only_o of_o their_o sin_n and_o thereby_o liable_a to_o that_o curse_n and_o damnation_n which_o be_v due_a to_o their_o hypocrisy_n and_o dissimulation_n whereof_o he_o be_v in_o some_o sense_n the_o efficient_a cause_n but_o also_o of_o sacrilegious_a intrusion_n upon_o those_o sacred_a prerogative_n which_o god_n have_v reserve_v whole_o unto_o himself_o that_o be_v the_o command_n and_o power_n over_o man_n conscience_n over_o which_o he_o never_o appoint_v any_o lord_n or_o master_n beside_o himself_o as_o the_o expression_n and_o exhortation_n both_o of_o our_o saviour_n mat._n 23.8_o 9_o and_o of_o saint_n paul_n 1_o cor._n 8.6_o do_v purposely_o insinuate_v and_o whereunto_o the_o king_n commission_n do_v never_o extend_v whence_o it_o be_v manifest_a that_o christian_a king_n may_v exercise_v their_o legislative_a power_n in_o the_o composure_n of_o law_n and_o statute_n to_o direct_v a_o conformity_n of_o evangelicall_n worship_n and_o service_n in_o those_o person_n unto_o who_o god_n have_v vouchsafe_v the_o true_a understanding_n thereof_o and_o thereby_o satisfy_v their_o conscience_n of_o the_o legality_n and_o religion_n thereof_o and_o also_o his_o judiciarie_n power_n in_o reward_v
