bishop_n letter_n he_o seem_v to_o be_v of_o opinion_n that_o infant_n go_v neither_o to_o heaven_n nor_o hell_n at_o least_o such_o a_o collection_n may_v be_v draw_v from_o his_o word_n just_o so_o it_o be_v say_v he_o in_o infant_n hell_n be_v not_o make_v for_o man_n but_o for_o devil_n and_o therefore_o it_o must_v be_v something_o beside_o mere_a nature_n that_o must_v bear_v any_o man_n thither_o mere_a nature_n neither_o go_v to_o heaven_n nor_o hell_n pag._n 17._o in_o which_o word_n of_o his_o we_o acknowledge_v it_o to_o be_v true_a in_o a_o sense_n that_o mere_a nature_n do_v not_o carry_v a_o man_n to_o heaven_n or_o hell_n for_o that_o which_o be_v not_o true_a at_o all_o can_v carry_v a_o man_n any_o whither_o the_o sophister_n do_v indeed_o speak_v of_o the_o creation_n of_o man_n in_o puris_fw-la naturalibus_fw-la in_o his_o pure_a natural_n but_o i_o no_o where_n find_v that_o god_n do_v ever_o make_v or_o do_v intend_v to_o make_v any_o man_n in_o such_o estate_n that_o be_v neither_o good_a nor_o evil_a i_o know_v no_o such_o mere_a nature_n to_o be_v find_v in_o any_o part_n of_o the_o habitable_a earth_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v some_o way_n a_o truth_n in_o this_o abstract_n consideration_n that_o a_o pure_a nature_n carry_v a_o man_n no_o whether_o but_o he_o have_v another_o meaning_n in_o which_o he_o be_v great_o mistake_v for_o under_o that_o notion_n and_o consideration_n as_o infant_n be_v now_o bear_v this_o nature_n deprave_v carry_v only_o to_o hell_n we_o be_v by_o nature_n the_o child_n of_o wrath_n as_o well_o as_o other_o eph._n 2.2_o 3._o but_o here_o perhaps_o he_o will_v except_v by_o such_o a_o tenet_n as_o this_o all_o infant_n will_v be_v necessitate_v to_o damnation_n not_o so_o neither_o they_o will_v be_v bear_v only_o in_o a_o nature_n liable_a to_o damnation_n but_o by_o our_o doctrine_n we_o do_v not_o say_v that_o they_o must_v be_v all_o damn_a i_o see_v nothing_o to_o the_o contrary_a but_o christ_n be_v as_o well_o able_a to_o save_v they_o from_o the_o pollution_n and_o corruption_n of_o the_o natural_a birth_n as_o well_o as_o if_o they_o be_v all_o reduce_v to_o that_o imaginary_a state_n that_o he_o speak_v of_o concern_v this_o matter_n he_o deliver_v his_o judgement_n in_o his_o answer_n to_o the_o bishop_n letter_n when_o i_o affirm_v that_o infant_n be_v by_o adam_n reduce_v and_o leave_v to_o their_o mere_a natural_a estate_n fall_v short_a of_o heaven_n i_o do_v not_o say_v they_o can_v go_v to_o heaven_n at_o all_o but_o they_o can_v go_v thither_o by_o their_o natural_a
