but_o the_o other_o reveal_v of_o christ_n by_o the_o light_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n convey_v the_o knowledge_n of_o he_o into_o the_o mind_n and_o heart_n
he_o forbid_v it_o a_o horse_n or_o stomackful_a colt_n put_v the_o bridle_n on_o he_o and_o he_o be_v mad_a let_v he_o run_v in_o the_o field_n and_o he_o be_v quiet_a let_v the_o sun_n shine_v on_o a_o stink_a dunghill_n and_o it_o stink_v the_o worse_o not_o because_o the_o sun_n give_v pollution_n by_o its_o heat_n but_o by_o accident_n make_v the_o stink_n break_v forth_o so_o much_o the_o that_o antipathy_n and_o sympathy_n do_v show_v we_o very_o far_o into_o nature_n where_o they_o be_v find_v as_o the_o school_n do_v well_o observe_v for_o a_o lamb_n to_o hate_v and_o fly_v from_o not_o this_o and_o that_o wolf_n but_o every_o one_o though_o it_o never_o see_v it_o before_o which_o show_v a_o general_a antipathy_n to_o all_o wolf_n so_o it_o be_v in_o this_o case_n if_o there_o ascend_v and_o ride_v in_o the_o triumphal_a chariot_n to_o heaven_n he_o carry_v spoil_n with_o he_o and_o give_v gift_n to_o man_n and_o what_o be_v those_o gift_n eph._n 4._o 7._o he_o give_v apostle_n prophet_n evangelist_n pastor_n and_o teacher_n for_o the_o gather_n and_o perfect_v of_o the_o saint_n or_o thus_o if_o you_o will_v he_o give_v the_o holy_a ghost_n which_o do_v not_o only_o work_v itself_o but_o make_v overseer_n act_n 20._o 28._o and_o then_o work_v by_o they_o as_o the_o instrument_n be_v first_o make_v and_o then_o wrought_v with_o so_o the_o holy_a ghost_n make_v you_o overseer_n and_o then_o work_v in_o and_o by_o they_o that_o be_v minister_n make_v by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o therefore_o despise_v not_o mean_n and_o instrument_n enough_o be_v god_n expect_v the_o performance_n of_o the_o condition_n make_v with_o he_o and_o you_o know_v many_o time_n it_o be_v thus_o with_o man_n they_o expect_v a_o mutual_a performance_n of_o covenant_n one_o with_o another_o and_o they_o do-in-many_a case_n think_v that_o man_n have_v power_n to_o perform_v the_o condition_n to_o which_o he_o oblige_v himself_o and_o yet_o sometime_o it_o be_v otherwise_o there_o can_v a_o general_a rule_n be_v make_v of_o this_o a_o creditor_n require_v the_o payment_n of_o the_o sum_n yet_o whether_o the_o debtor_n pay_v it_o of_o money_n get_v by_o his_o own_o hand_n or_o borrow_v it_o or_o it_o be_v give_v he_o by_o some_o benefactor_n be_v not_o material_a only_o this_o be_v material_a that_o the_o condition_n be_v perform_v and_o the_o money_n pay_v so_o we_o may_v say_v in_o this_o point_n this_o be_v certain_a that_o the_o condition_n require_v of_o man_n be_v man_n duty_n be_v man_n act_n and_o the_o benefit_n of_o the_o covenant_n be_v for_o he_o that_o perform_v
faith_n and_o repentance_n but_o god_n require_v not_o the_o performance_n of_o the_o condition_n by_o man_n own_o power_n for_o therefore_o the_o covenant_n be_v alter_v from_o do_v this_o and_o live_v unto_o believe_v in_o the_o lord_n jesus_n and_o thou_o shall_v be_v save_v they_o be_v both_o express_v rom._n 10._o 5_o 9_o because_o man_n fall_v man_n can_v not_o abide_v such_o a_o be_v not_o in_o all_o alike_o there_o must_v be_v long_o work_v of_o smart_n and_o preparatory_n on_o some_o upon_o other_o it_o lie_v short_a on_o and_o make_v quick_a work_n and_o yet_o the_o work_n may_v be_v as_o well_o do_v to_o now_o these_o precedaneous_a preparation_n for_o we_o speak_v but_o vulgar_o not_o accurate_o of_o this_o great_a point_n may_v be_v consider_v two_o way_n either_o as_o preparative_n unto_o life_n go_v before_o any_o spark_n of_o spiritual_a life_n beget_v in_o the_o soul_n or_o as_o latent_fw-la effect_n of_o life_n already_o begin_v as_o they_o be_v preparative_n forego_v all_o degree_n of_o faith_n and_o regeneration_n so_o they_o may_v tend_v to_o life_n if_o they_o be_v manage_v thereunto_o by_o god_n if_o god_n so_o manage_v this_o grief_n this_o sorrow_n for_o sin_n these_o wound_n so_o they_o may_v tend_v to_o life_n but_o if_o they_o be_v find_v in_o hypocrite_n in_o man_n themselves_o that_o god_n leave_v than_o they_o will_v be_v and_o so_o be_v like_o the_o grass_n in_o the_o stony_a ground_n for_o the_o present_a its_o green_a but_o it_o vanish_v because_o it_o have_v no_o root_n abide_v second_o if_o they_o be_v latent_fw-la effect_n of_o a_o secret_a life_n already_o begin_v which_o few_o man_n know_v the_o time_n of_o its_o come_n in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o time_n of_o conversion_n or_o drop_v in_o this_o spiritual_a life_n into_o the_o soul_n be_v a_o hard_a thing_n but_o if_o these_o initial_o be_v latent_fw-la effect_n of_o some_o seed_n sow_v than_o they_o will_v abide_v hold_v out_o and_o continue_v and_o there_o be_v a_o difference_n between_o preparative_n go_v before_o life_n and_o those_o we_o call_v latent_fw-la effect_n of_o a_o secret_a life_n the_o one_o be_v leave_v to_o in_o the_o production_n of_o man_n for_o a_o spiritual_a birth_n much_o answer_v the_o natural_a birth_n there_o may_v be_v and_o be_v some_o qualification_n of_o the_o matter_n whereof_o the_o body_n inward_o and_o the_o reason_n be_v that_o contrariety_n to_o sin_n which_o be_v in_o a_o true_a christian_a arise_v from_o this_o inward_a gracious_a nature_n be_v to_o the_o whole_a species_n or_o kind_n of_o sin_n and_o be_v irreconcilable_a to_o any_o sin_n whatsoever_o as_o contrariety_n of_o nature_n be_v to_o the_o whole_a kind_n as_o light_n be_v contrary_a to_o all_o darkness_n and_o fire_n to_o all_o water_n so_o that_o this_o contrariety_n to_o sin_n arise_v from_o the_o inward_a man_n be_v universal_a to_o all_o sin_n though_o not_o a_o universal_a victory_n yet_o there_o be_v
