as_o i_o have_v now_o persuade_v thou_o have_v much_o sweet_a peace_n and_o comfort_n in_o believe_v while_o they_o tread_v another_o trace_n than_o once_o they_o do_v they_o be_v now_o holy_a devout_a and_o righteous_a who_o be_v before_o ungodly_a profane_a and_o vicious_a go_v thou_o and_o do_v likewise_o and_o try_v whether_o god_n will_v save_v thou_o or_o no._n 2._o lay_v hold_n on_o the_o way_n of_o god_n commandment_n and_o write_v they_o upon_o the_o table_n of_o thy_o heart_n prov._n 3.3_o be_v thou_o may_v read_v more_o to_o this_o purpose_n as_o also_o prov._n 1.5_o beside_o many_o very_o many_o place_n of_o scripture_n which_o all_o cry_v loud_a upon_o thou_o to_o hearken_v and_o hear_v what_o god_n require_v of_o thou_o to_o the_o save_n of_o thy_o soul_n be_v but_o once_o persuade_v to_o believe_v that_o god_n know_v the_o way_n to_o heaven_n better_a than_o thou_o do_v and_o that_o he_o have_v tell_v thou_o plain_o enough_o what_o that_o way_n be_v and_o then_o consider_v whether_o god_n have_v or_o can_v have_v it_o in_o his_o heart_n to_o abuse_v and_o deceive_v thou_o yea_o to_o put_v no_o further_o trouble_v upon_o thou_o go_v to_o thy_o own_o conscience_n and_o ask_v serious_o whether_o the_o way_n of_o sinful_a vanity_n and_o all_o manner_n of_o iniquity_n be_v or_o can_v be_v the_o way_n to_o heavenly_a happiness_n in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o god_n and_o for_o a_o conclusion_n be_v please_v to_o consider_v of_o all_o that_o have_v be_v aforesaid_a whether_o thou_o have_v nothing_o to_o do_v about_o the_o work_n and_o business_n of_o thy_o own_o salvation_n for_o one_o of_o these_o two_o must_v be_v either_o thou_o have_v something_o to_o do_v or_o nothing_o at_o all_o if_o there_o be_v somewhat_o for_o thou_o to_o do_v as_o i_o suppose_v there_o be_v why_o be_v thou_o not_o about_o it_o and_o hard_o at_o it_o and_o that_o present_o without_o delay_n can_v thou_o be_v so_o unreasonable_o negligent_a about_o thy_o soul_n when_o thou_o be_v so_o incessant_o and_o excessive_o careful_a of_o every_o other_o the_o least_o concernment_n be_v it_o nothing_o to_o thou_o what_o become_v of_o thou_o to_o all_o eternity_n have_v god_n will_v thou_o to_o be_v do_v all_o thou_o can_v for_o thy_o present_a subsistence_n and_o nothing_o at_o all_o for_o thy_o everlasting_a salvation_n or_o have_v he_o leave_v it_o to_o thy_o choice_n whether_o thou_o will_v do_v any_o thing_n or_o nothing_o at_o all_o read_v the_o scripture_n once_o more_o and_o see_v if_o there_o be_v nothing_o command_v thou_o in_o order_n to_o this_o and_o be_v sure_a in_o the_o first_o place_n that_o thou_o be_v leave_v to_o thy_o liberty_n and_o under_o no_o obligation_n or_o else_o consider_v how_o thou_o will_v answer_v for_o thy_o disobedience_n to_o god_n command_n but_o if_o there_o be_v nothing_o for_o thou_o to_o do_v or_o if_o it_o be_v in_o vain_a for_o thou_o to_o bestow_v thy_o care_n or_o pain_n about_o it_o because_o there_o be_v somewhat_o impossible_a to_o be_v do_v without_o any_o fault_n of_o thou_o i_o shall_v say_v no_o more_o but_o leave_v thou_o to_o be_v try_v by_o what_o thou_o know_v to_o be_v god_n law_n at_o the_o last_o and_o great_a day_n of_o account_n resolve_v for_o myself_o that_o if_o i_o be_o save_v from_o wrath_n and_o death_n it_o will_v be_v only_o through_o god_n free_a mercy_n and_o grace_n and_o if_o i_o perish_v and_o die_v in_o my_o sin_n it_o will_v be_v only_o through_o my_o own_o default_n because_o i_o will_v not_o while_o i_o may_v know_v the_o time_n of_o my_o visitation_n and_o the_o thing_n of_o my_o peace_n a_o appendix_n to_o the_o whole_a discourse_n forego_v which_o may_v be_v call_v a_o seal_n set_v to_o the_o only_a way_n of_o life_n and_o salvation_n by_o the_o alone_a saviour_n luc_n 13.23_o 24_o etc._n etc._n then_o say_v one_o unto_o he_o lord_n be_v there_o few_o that_o be_v save_v and_o he_o say_v unto_o he_o strive_v to_o enter_v in_o at_o the_o strait_a gate_n etc._n etc._n he_o that_o make_v this_o question_n seem_v to_o be_v upon_o what_o occasion_n soever_o he_o make_v it_o of_o a_o curious_a and_o inquisitive_a humour_n as_o most_o man_n be_v desirous_a to_o know_v what_o no_o way_n concern_v he_o he_o will_v be_v satisfy_v whether_o few_o or_o many_o shall_v be_v save_v our_o saviour_n in_o answer_v he_o sufficient_o show_v his_o dislike_n of_o such_o a_o impertinent_a question_n for_o he_o resolve_v nothing_o about_o it_o direct_o but_o clear_o intimate_v to_o he_o and_o other_o that_o it_o concern_v they_o not_o to_o be_v resolve_v in_o it_o one_o way_n or_o other_o but_o fall_v upon_o that_o which_o every_o man_n be_v bind_v to_o look_v after_o viz._n a_o careful_a endeavour_n to_o do_v the_o will_n of_o god_n reveal_v in_o his_o word_n which_o show_v the_o way_n of_o life_n so_o as_o whoever_o walk_v in_o it_o be_v sure_o to_o be_v save_v now_o this_o one_o scripture_n be_v enough_o to_o stop_v the_o mouth_n of_o all_o that_o quarrel_n and_o question_n as_o many_o do_v the_o way_n of_o god_n in_o his_o decree_n and_o counsel_n about_o the_o salvation_n of_o man_n for_o our_o saviour_n not_o only_o intimate_v that_o all_o such_o question_n be_v impertinent_a but_o he_o full_o show_v upon_o this_o occasion_n what_o be_v the_o only_a way_n to_o life_n wherein_o whoever_o go_v be_v sure_o to_o be_v save_v whatever_o become_v of_o other_o and_o never_o take_v the_o least_o notice_n of_o any_o bar_n by_o reason_n of_o god_n decree_n or_o any_o thing_n else_o of_o that_o kind_n we_o must_v strive_v etc._n etc._n i._n e._n we_o must_v not_o think_v the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n can_v be_v get_v by_o a_o lazy_a and_o empty_a profession_n of_o true_a religion_n or_o by_o have_v the_o external_a mean_n of_o grace_n and_o the_o outside_n privilege_n of_o christian_n as_o it_o be_v say_v v._n 26._o but_o we_o must_v strive_v for_o it_o
