the_o gift_n of_o free_a grace_n have_v bear_v for_o we_o god_n in_o justice_n will_v never_o lay_v upon_o his_o elect_a in_o christ_n again_o whoever_o will_v deny_v this_o must_v deny_v god_n to_o be_v just_a and_o his_o covenant_n of_o less_o value_n than_o the_o covenant_n of_o a_o faithful_a man_n his_o grace_n neither_o free_a nor_o full_a grace_n christ_n not_o a_o complete_a saviour_n and_o then_o his_o death_n of_o no_o effect_n now_o look_v back_o upon_o this_o truth_n and_o you_o shall_v behold_v sin_n the_o curse_n of_o the_o law_n punishment_n due_a to_o sin_n from_o the_o find_v saint_n in_o this_o frame_n complain_v of_o self_n and_o admire_v of_o god_n condemn_v of_o self_n and_o justify_v of_o god_n the_o remainder_n of_o the_o old_a man_n in_o i_o that_o be_v myself_o my_o flesh_n say_v a_o saint_n but_o the_o new_a creature_n that_o be_v christ_n in_o i_o the_o hope_n of_o glory_n that_o be_v the_o king_n of_o glory_n come_v into_o my_o soul_n and_o display_v the_o glory_n of_o his_o presence_n there_o that_o be_v christ_n in_o i_o and_o i_o in_o christ_n in_o who_o i_o be_o make_v a_o new_a creature_n therefore_o if_o any_o man_n be_v in_o and_o not_o to_o be_v a_o new_a creature_n as_o those_o dead_a bone_n can_v not_o live_v before_o god_n have_v unite_v they_o cover_v they_o with_o skin_n and_o breathe_v life_n into_o they_o for_o he_o make_v life_n where_o ever_o he_o come_v and_o the_o life_n he_o bring_v be_v heavenly_a christ_n make_v the_o new_a creature_n &_o therefore_o can_v never_o be_v without_o the_o new_a creature_n what_o have_v its_o be_v from_o christ_n can_v be_v without_o christ_n now_o the_o new_a creature_n have_v its_o be_v from_o christ_n it_o can_v not_o be_v but_o in_o christ_n and_o by_o christ_n so_o that_o it_o must_v needs_o follow_v it_o be_v always_o with_o christ_n where_o christ_n be_v there_o be_v the_o new_a creature_n indeed_o the_o new_a creature_n be_v nothing_o else_o but_o christ_n possess_v himself_o of_o a_o soul_n live_v in_o it_o and_o reign_v over_o it_o by_o his_o spirit_n as_o satan_n do_v in_o the_o mere_a natural_a man_n a_o saint_n he_o die_v with_o christ_n and_o he_o live_v with_o christ_n christ_n die_v for_o he_o and_o life_n in_o he_o and_o we_o shall_v find_v the_o apostle_n paul_n in_o gal._n 2.20_o make_v this_o confession_n and_o acknowledgement_n i_o be_o crucify_v with_o christ_n nevertheless_o i_o live_v yet_o not_o i_o but_o christ_n live_v in_o i_o and_o the_o life_n which_o i_o now_o live_v in_o the_o flesh_n i_o live_v by_o the_o faith_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n who_o love_v i_o and_o give_v himself_o for_o i_o he_o do_v acknowledge_v himself_o to_o be_v dead_a crucify_v to_o himself_o in_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n and_o then_o lay_v hold_v of_o another_o life_n but_o it_o be_v out_o of_o self_n by_o faith_n in_o christ_n this_o be_v my_o very_a life_n now_o whilst_o i_o be_o in_o the_o flesh_n say_v he_o and_o true_o this_o my_o life_n be_v christ_n in_o i_o &_o it_o be_v not_o i_o but_o christ_n that_o live_v in_o i_o that_o faith_n which_o be_v in_o i_o be_v not selfe_o but_o christ_n as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v my_o life_n be_v a_o new_a life_n and_o that_o life_n be_v the_o new_a creature_n and_o that_o new_a creature_n be_v christ_n in_o i_o i_o be_o that_o temple_n which_o you_o see_v christ_n live_v in_o but_o christ_n be_v the_o life_n of_o that_o temple_n without_o i_o say_v christ_n you_o can_v do_v nothing_o true_a lord_n say_v paul_n but_o through_o thy_o strength_n i_o can_v do_v all_o thing_n as_o if_o christ_n have_v say_v you_o can_v be_v new_a creature_n till_o you_o be_v in_o i_o and_o i_o in_o you_o i_o find_v that_o true_a say_v paul_n for_o in_o i_o that_o be_v in_o my_o flesh_n there_o be_v no_o good_a but_o i_o have_v also_o experiment_v this_o truth_n if_o once_o in_o thou_o i_o can_v be_v no_o long_o a_o old_a creature_n as_o he_o tell_v we_o in_o gal._n 1.15_o 16._o so_o soon_o as_o ever_o god_n have_v call_v i_o by_o his_o grace_n to_o reveal_v his_o son_n in_o i_o that_o i_o may_v preach_v he_o among_o the_o heathen_n immediate_o i_o obey_v and_o do_v not_o stand_v to_o confer_v with_o flesh_n and_o blood_n not_o to_o see_v by_o his_o old_a eye_n nor_o to_o act_v upon_o his_o old_a principle_n flesh_n and_o blood_n must_v no_o long_o teach_v and_o lead_v paul_n when_o god_n have_v call_v he_o by_o his_o grace_n and_o reveal_v christ_n to_o he_o as_o if_o paul_n shall_v say_v i_o be_o now_o unite_v to_o the_o lord_n jesus_n and_o i_o can_v but_o be_v a_o swallow_v up_o of_o victory_n in_o you_o by_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n as_o it_o be_v for_o you_o in_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n sin_n have_v its_o repulse_n in_o the_o soul_n from_o the_o change_n of_o the_o law_n that_o rule_v the_o law_n of_o sin_n and_o death_n turn_v into_o the_o law_n of_o spirit_n and_o life_n i_o can_v do_v all_o thing_n through_o christ_n that_o strengthen_v desire_v you_o to_o remember_v a_o clause_n that_o i_o lay_v down_o in_o the_o beginning_n where_o i_o endeavour_v to_o open_v these_o verse_n the_o clause_n be_v this_o that_o the_o believer_n in_o the_o blood_n and_o spirit_n of_o christ_n have_v a_o perfect_a freedom_n from_o the_o law_n so_o far_o as_o it_o be_v freedom_n to_o be_v deliver_v i_o lay_v it_o so_o down_o that_o i_o may_v have_v here_o room_n to_o distinguish_v between_o the_o roll_a power_n of_o the_o law_n and_o the_o matter_n and_o substance_n of_o the_o law_n in_o the_o first_o sense_n the_o roll_a power_n of_o the_o fire_v to_o burn_v up_o and_o consume_v all_o but_o substance_n what_o ever_o be_v dross_n be_v consume_v where_o that_o holy_a fire_n come_v now_o all_o flesh_n and_o self_n be_v dross_n both_o in_o will_n and_o work_v and_o that_o the_o spirit_n burn_v up_o and_o leave_v nothing_o remain_v in_o such_o a_o soul_n where_o it_o live_v so_o far_o as_o it_o have_v overcome_v but_o the_o substantial_a and_o holy_a will_n of_o god_n and_o from_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o any_o soul_n come_v to_o be_v change_v in_o its_o desire_n because_o it_o be_v change_v in_o itself_o or_o more_o proper_o out_o of_o itself_o from_o flesh_n to_o spirit_n from_o self_n to_o christ_n from_o its_o own_o will_n to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n but_o now_o if_o any_o shall_v object_v and_o say_v this_o be_v a_o hard_a say_n who_o can_v bear_v it_o this_o make_v christianity_n to_o be_v such_o a_o burdensome_a thing_n as_o the_o world_n report_v it_o to_o be_v that_o a_o man_n must_v be_v always_o cross_v and_o deny_v himself_o of_o any_o will_n or_o content_v of_o his_o own_o so_o as_o by_o this_o rate_n the_o way_n to_o heaven_n be_v to_o have_v no_o pleasure_n upon_o earth_n to_o this_o i_o answer_v it_o be_v ignorance_n of_o god_n and_o his_o way_n that_o make_v this_o objection_n this_o sound_n like_o the_o answer_n of_o nieodemus_fw-la to_o our_o saviour_n in_o the_o three_o of_o john_n verse_n 4._o when_v christ_n have_v be_v show_v he_o the_o necessity_n of_o regeneration_n and_o speak_v in_o the_o spirit_n to_o he_o of_o be_v bear_v again_o he_o understand_v not_o the_o spirit_n and_o as_o he_o understand_v he_o so_o answer_v he_o in_o the_o flesh_n how_o can_v a_o man_n be_v bear_v when_o he_o be_v old_a can_v he_o enter_v the_o second_o time_n into_o his_o mother_n womb_n and_o be_v bear_v christ_n speak_v in_o the_o spirit_n but_o nicodemus_n understand_v he_o only_o in_o the_o flesh_n and_o therefore_o judge_v it_o hard_o or_o impossible_a that_o there_o shall_v be_v a_o regeneration_n or_o new_a birth_n though_o christ_n have_v tell_v he_o the_o necessity_n of_o it_o so_o do_v all_o that_o be_v ignorant_a of_o god_n and_o his_o way_n thus_o conclude_v of_o he_o as_o that_o what_o be_v impossible_a with_o man_n be_v so_o with_o god_n to_o they_o because_o they_o have_v no_o other_o knowledge_n of_o god_n but_o in_o the_o flesh_n but_o let_v such_o as_o be_v spiritual_a consider_v first_o god_n give_v what_o he_o command_v and_o then_o command_v what_o he_o give_v god_n that_o command_v to_o be_v worship_v and_o obey_v in_o spirit_n give_v his_o spirit_n to_o worship_n and_o obey_v he_o in_o god_n be_v no_o hard_a master_n he_o take_v not_o up_o where_o he_o lay_v not_o down_o he_o covenant_n free_o and_o make_v it_o full_o good_a to_o put_v his_o law_n in_o the_o inner_a part_n of_o his_o people_n and_o to_o write_v it_o in_o their_o heart_n jerem._n 31.33_o and_o to_o give_v they_o his_o spirit_n of_o truth_n to_o dwell_v with_o they_o and_o be_v in_o they_o and_o to_o teach_v they_o all_o thing_n john_n 14.17.26_o now_o none_o but_o a_o fleshly_a understanding_n can_v condemn_v god_n for_o a_o hard_a master_n and_o his_o will_n swallow_v will_v also_o glory_v through_o the_o freegrace_n of_o god_n in_o this_o that_o christ_n be_v make_v his_o righteousness_n and_o justification_n so_o that_o he_o stand_v complete_a before_o god_n in_o he_o freegrace_n make_v christ_n sin_n for_o i_o say_v this_o soul_n that_o i_o may_v be_v make_v the_o righteousness_n of_o god_n in_o he_o 2_o cor._n 5._o last_o jesus_n christ_n in_o the_o design_n of_o god_n freegrace_n have_v bear_v sin_n death_n hell_n law_n and_o curse_v for_o i_o that_o i_o be_o for_o ever_o acquit_v from_o the_o condemn_a reign_a or_o devour_a power_n of_o any_o or_o of_o all_o these_o now_o say_v this_o soul_n tell_v i_o you_o that_o understand_v be_v nor_o this_o god_n of_o freegrace_n the_o only_a subject_n of_o a_o saint_n glory_n nay_o i_o will_v tell_v you_o more_o god_n himself_o be_v the_o fullness_n of_o his_o people_n glory_n to_o all_o eternity_n he_o let_v the_o worldling_n for_o a_o little_a time_n to_o glut_v themselves_o with_o the_o world_n but_o himself_o be_v the_o free_a the_o full_a and_o eternal_a glory_n of_o his_o people_n in_o the_o age_n to_o come_v even_o to_o all_o eternity_n he_o be_v fill_v his_o people_n with_o the_o exceed_a riches_n of_o his_o grace_n and_o kindness_n in_o christ_n jesus_n ephes_n 2.7_o god_n do_v to_o all_o eternity_n set_v open_a his_o bosom_n and_o not_o give_v to_o such_o as_o be_v heir_n of_o himself_o flagon_n but_o ocean_n of_o love_n and_o glory_n it_o must_v needs_o be_v glory_n if_o it_o be_v god_n love_n now_o this_o i_o and_o more_o than_o this_o more_o than_o eternity_n can_v tell_v be_v the_o freegrace_n of_o god_n therefore_o let_v he_o that_o glori_v glory_n in_o the_o lord_n for_o he_o be_v god_n the_o only_a fountain_n and_o fullness_n of_o freegrace_n but_o if_o any_o shall_v object_v and_o say_v if_o grace_n be_v thus_o free_a in_o god_n to_o elect_v call_v justify_v sanctify_v and_o glorify_v his_o people_n mere_o of_o his_o freegrace_n why_o then_o do_v christ_n take_v flesh_n and_o in_o the_o flesh_n satisfy_v the_o utmost_a of_o god_n justice_n for_o the_o sin_n of_o his_o people_n it_o seem_v to_o appear_v that_o god_n be_v satisfy_v in_o his_o justice_n he_o have_v the_o debt_n pay_v how_o then_o do_v you_o make_v it_o grace_n to_o this_o i_o answer_v that_o in_o its_o proper_a place_n i_o shall_v make_v use_n of_o this_o argument_n to_o clear_v up_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n in_o the_o exactness_n of_o his_o justice_n but_o it_o do_v no_o way_n diminish_v the_o freeness_n of_o his_o grace_n to_o we_o for_o it_o be_v freegrace_n that_o make_v christ_n to_o be_v the_o satisfaction_n of_o divine_a justice_n for_o our_o sin_n and_o that_o god_n satisfy_v his_o own_o justice_n in_o himself_o do_v no_o more_o make_v his_o grace_n not_o do_v it_o in_o christ_n which_o be_v whole_o out_o of_o ourselves_o keep_v it_o very_o exact_o to_o be_v the_o redemption_n of_o freegrace_n we_o be_v justify_v free_o by_o his_o grace_n through_o the_o redemption_n that_o be_v in_o christ_n rom._n 3.24_o that_o god_n do_v satisfy_v his_o justice_n in_o christ_n it_o be_v that_o through_o he_o we_o may_v be_v make_v partake_v be_v of_o the_o redemption_n of_o his_o grace_n it_o be_v grace_n redeem_v and_o just_a fie_v by_o christ_n but_o christ_n the_o gift_n of_o god_n grace_n can_v diminish_v his_o grace_n that_o which_o god_n give_v his_o people_n through_o christ_n though_o he_o satisfy_v his_o justice_n in_o the_o way_n yet_o he_o magnify_v the_o freeness_n of_o his_o grace_n in_o the_o work_n a_o three_o particular_a be_v this_o the_o riches_n of_o god_n mercy_n the_o apostle_n paul_n glory_v in_o god_n upon_o this_o very_a consideration_n in_o ephes_n 2.4_o but_o god_n who_o be_v rich_a in_o mercy_n for_o his_o great_a love_n wherewith_o he_o love_v we_o and_o so_o forward_o god_n to_o manifest_v his_o great_a love_n wherewith_o he_o love_v his_o people_n bestow_v on_o they_o the_o riches_n of_o his_o mercy_n namely_o his_o eternal_a love_n his_o freegrace_n his_o belove_a son_n and_o in_o he_o election_n call_v justification_n sanctification_n and_o glorification_n and_o his_o holy_a spirit_n in_o these_o now_o this_o will_v be_v acknowledge_v to_o be_v rich_a mercy_n many_o do_v pretend_v to_o be_v giver_n though_o they_o have_v nothing_o but_o what_o they_o first_o receive_v but_o none_o i_o be_o sure_a but_o blasphemer_n can_v pretend_v to_o be_v giver_n of_o such_o rich_a mercy_n as_o these_o god_n be_v the_o only_a fountain_n and_o giver_n of_o these_o more_o exceed_v and_o eternal_a weight_n of_o glory_n nay_o that_o which_o worldling_n make_v their_o god_n namely_o the_o world_n it_o be_v create_v by_o he_o and_o for_o he_o and_o though_o it_o be_v a_o curse_n to_o they_o that_o know_v no_o other_o god_n yet_o every_o piece_n and_o parcel_n of_o it_o sanctify_a be_v a_o blessing_n and_o a_o rich_a mercy_n of_o god_n to_o his_o choose_a people_n love_n make_v all_o condition_n to_o be_v rich_a mercy_n of_o god_n to_o they_o it_o be_v a_o rich_a mercy_n to_o a_o dark_a world_n to_o say_v let_v there_o be_v light_n and_o it_o be_v so_o but_o then_o how_o rich_a be_v god_n in_o mercy_n when_o he_o make_v know_v his_o eternal_a love_n and_o shine_v through_o the_o wound_n of_o christ_n by_o his_o own_o spirit_n into_o a_o dark_a soul_n and_o bid_v the_o soul_n be_v of_o good_a cheer_n its_o sin_n be_v forgive_v it_o stand_v complete_a in_o christ_n and_o be_v a_o heir_n of_o god_n a_o joynt-heire_n with_o christ_n however_o man_n may_v slight_v the_o riches_n of_o these_o spiritual_a mercy_n whilst_o they_o be_v glut_v their_o soul_n with_o the_o world_n yet_o let_v they_o remember_v the_o time_n be_v not_o far_o off_o when_o death_n shall_v close_v their_o eye_n and_o their_o soul_n sit_v upod_n their_o tremble_a lip_n and_o then_o a_o glimpse_n of_o a_o reconcile_a god_n in_o christ_n will_v be_v find_v a_o rich_a mercy_n the_o apostle_n call_v the_o love_n of_o god_n height_n and_o breadth_n depth_n and_o length_n of_o love_n he_o take_v in_o all_o that_o he_o can_v reckon_v up_o to_o show_v the_o exceed_a riches_n of_o it_o god_n be_v the_o fullness_n of_o glory_n and_o the_o fountain_n of_o mercy_n therefore_o his_o mercy_n must_v needs_o be_v rich_a and_o full_a of_o glory_n so_o then_o as_o riches_n of_o mercy_n be_v a_o subject_n of_o glory_n let_v he_o that_o glori_v glory_n in_o the_o lord_n in_o the_o next_o place_n consider_v the_o faithfulness_n of_o god_n in_o make_v good_a of_o his_o promise_n god_n be_v a_o free_a god_n in_o all_o his_o promise_n he_o only_o engage_v himself_o no_o soul_n can_v engage_v god_n for_o to_o receive_v all_o from_o god_n and_o yet_o to_o oblige_v god_n be_v a_o contradiction_n the_o first_o be_v a_o truth_n of_o god_n what_o the_o latter_a be_v i_o leave_v the_o reader_n to_o judge_v but_o as_o god_n be_v free_a in_o all_o his_o promise_n the_o whole_a working_n of_o god_n in_o the_o world_n be_v a_o ample_a testimony_n to_o this_o truth_n and_o faithfulness_n of_o god_n but_o yet_o for_o more_o particular_a proof_n take_v two_o or_o three_o scripture_n first_o god_n promise_n at_o the_o fault_n of_o the_o first_o adam_n to_o give_v the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n the_o second_o adam_n in_o gen._n 3.15_o that_o the_o seed_n of_o the_o woman_n namely_o christ_n shall_v bruise_v the_o serpent_n head_n this_o serpent_n be_v the_o devil_n now_o to_o the_o make_v good_a of_o this_o promise_n the_o whole_a word_n of_o god_n and_o the_o salvation_n of_o his_o people_n be_v a_o full_a testimony_n for_o another_o great_a promise_n take_v that_o of_o god_n give_v his_o spirit_n to_o his_o people_n to_o teach_v they_o and_o to_o lead_v they_o into_o all_o truth_n and_o by_o which_o he_o do_v write_v his_o law_n in_o the_o heart_n and_o inward_a part_n of_o his_o people_n jer._n 31.33_o john_n 14.26_o now_o how_o god_n do_v make_v good_a this_o promise_n such_o as_o be_v true_o spiritual_a can_v give_v in_o their_o testimony_n and_o i_o doubt_v not_o but_o god_n have_v many_o thousand_o such_o witness_n in_o the_o world_n though_o such_o as_o know_v he_o not_o do_v blaspheme_v and_o scoff_n at_o he_o in_o scoff_v at_o his_o spirit_n in_o his_o people_n yet_o saint_n in_o truth_n will_v tell_v you_o that_o they_o in_o themselves_o be_v darkness_n and_o god_n be_v only_a light_n and_o it_o be_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o they_o that_o be_v their_o light_n that_o they_o know_v
