and_o love_n be_v as_o strong_a as_o death_n either_o in_o good_a thing_n or_o in_o evil_a and_o so_o sin_n have_v its_o power_n but_o 2._o it_o have_v a_o kind_n of_o uncertain_a rule_n and_o method_n for_o there_o be_v a_o method_n in_o pleasure_n and_o lust_n and_o sinful_a joy_n after_o a_o carnal_a manner_n and_o so_o sin_n be_v a_o law_n but_o that_o which_o the_o apostle_n here_o come_v into_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n or_o be_v advance_v to_o the_o beatifical_a vision_n but_o those_o that_o be_v pure_a those_o that_o be_v holy_a for_o as_o the_o apostle_n tell_v we_o without_o holiness_n no_o man_n shall_v see_v god_n so_o that_o no_o unclean_a thing_n shall_v stand_v in_o the_o presence_n of_o the_o most_o holy_a god_n for_o he_o be_v of_o pure_a eye_n then_o to_o behold_v iniquity_n and_o therefore_o he_o have_v give_v forth_o this_o law_n as_o a_o rule_n for_o all_o to_o walk_v by_o in_o general_a it_o be_v a_o holy_a law_n and_o have_v declare_v that_o in_o it_o he_o set_v before_o man_n life_n and_o death_n blessing_n and_o curse_n but_o man_n have_v in_o he_o by_o nature_n the_o seed_n and_o root_n of_o all_o corruption_n have_v therefore_o a_o in_o his_o servant_n in_o the_o gospel_n and_o not_o as_o moses_n lay_v they_o down_o and_o thus_o much_o in_o answer_n etc._n etc._n now_o by_o this_o time_n we_o see_v this_o truth_n clear_a that_o the_o saint_n have_v obtain_v a_o freedom_n from_o the_o law_n by_o the_o law_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o life_n that_o be_v in_o christ_n jesus_n and_o it_o come_v now_o to_o be_v apply_v in_o several_a use_n and_o it_o be_v of_o use_n to_o both_o those_o two_o sort_n of_o people_n which_o do_v divide_v the_o world_n those_o that_o walk_v after_o the_o flesh_n and_o those_o that_o walk_v after_o the_o spirit_n first_o those_o that_o walk_v after_o the_o flesh_n and_o 1._o use_v to_o rebuke_v and_o admonish_v those_o which_o real_o be_v antinomian_o against_o the_o law_n and_o will_v make_v void_v the_o law_n use_v 1_o in_o the_o first_o here_o be_v a_o word_n of_o reprehension_n to_o those_o that_o have_v a_o loose_a and_o carnal_a spirit_n do_v contemn_v and_o despise_v the_o so_o thou_o may_v obtain_v the_o favour_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o endeavoure_v to_o walk_v innocent_o towards_o all_o man_n and_o though_o thou_o fail_v in_o many_o thing_n yet_o thou_o think_v by_o thy_o good_a meaning_n to_o please_v god_n so_o though_o thou_o can_v not_o do_v as_o other_o do_v yet_o thou_o please_v thyself_o in_o this_o estate_n and_o think_v it_o be_v good_a but_o this_o be_v still_o to_o walk_v after_o the_o flesh_n for_o here_o be_v no_o christ_n no_o spirit_n in_o all_o this_o again_o 4._o although_o thou_o go_v further_o than_o all_o this_o and_o do_v not_o only_o mean_v well_o but_o as_o thou_o may_v think_v do_v well_o too_o and_o be_v strict_a in_o observe_v the_o law_n to_o thy_o power_n and_o be_v frequent_a in_o perform_v of_o duty_n and_o observe_v fast_n and_o in_o give_v large_o to_o the_o poor_a yet_o all_o these_o thing_n and_o many_o more_o may_v thou_o do_v and_o that_o out_o of_o a_o zeal_n towards_o god_n and_o yet_o thou_o still_o walk_v after_o the_o flesh_n for_o matth._n 5_o 20._o our_o saviour_n tell_v they_o that_o except_o their_o righteousness_n exceed_v the_o righteousness_n of_o the_o scribe_n and_o pharisee_n they_o shall_v not_o enter_v into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n though_o the_o pharisee_n do_v strict_o observe_v the_o law_n be_v frequent_a in_o performance_n of_o duty_n make_v long_a prayer_n fast_v
