know_v our_o master_n will_n and_o do_v it_o not_o i._n e._n that_o what_o we_o do_v be_v against_o thedictate_v of_o our_o own_o conscience_n which_o sure_o will_v never_o help_v to_o excuse_v a_o flesh_n and_o for_o these_o you_o know_v the_o remedy_n i_o prescribe_v you_o daily_a prayer_n for_o pardon_n for_o daily_a slip_n and_o daily_a caution_n and_o care_n and_o endeavour_v to_o prevent_v shall_v not_o fulfil_v the_o lust_n of_o the_o flesh_n i._n e._n these_o two_o be_v unreconcilable_a when_o we_o say_v a_o honest_a man_n can_v do_v this_o our_o meaning_n be_v not_o to_o affirm_v so_o eph._n 4._o 19_o &_o 5._o 3._o in_o both_o which_o place_n as_o also_o before_o rom._n 1._o 29._o &_o col._n 3._o 5._o the_o word_n there_o render_v covetousness_n in_o the_o three_o latter_a and_o greediness_n in_o the_o first_o 〈◊〉_d signify_v that_o irregular_a desire_n and_o so_o those_o heathenish_a sin_n which_o here_o also_o col._n 3._o 5._o be_v call_v idolatry_n i_o will_v not_o vileness_n in_o the_o world_n and_o that_o in_o brief_a be_v call_v by_o saint_n peter_n abominable_a idolatry_n 1_o pet._n 4._o 3._o s._n the_o good_a lord_n of_o all_o purity_n by_o the_o power_n of_o his_o sanctify_a grace_n proserve_v i_o from_o all_o such_o taint_n to_o be_v a_o temple_n for_o the_o holy_a ghost_n but_o what_o else_o be_v reducible_a to_o this_o commandment_n of_o the_o law_n c._n 1._o all_o desire_n of_o these_o sin_n consent_v to_o although_o they_o break_v not_o out_o into_o act_n 2._o all_o morose_a thought_n i._n e._n dwelling_n or_o insist_v on_o that_o image_n after_o she_o have_v commit_v adultery_n with_o she_o already_o in_o his_o heart_n s._n what_o be_v the_o meaning_n of_o that_o c._n that_o he_o that_o so_o look_v etc._n etc._n 1._o signify_v his_o heart_n to_o be_v adulterous_a though_o himself_o be_v not_o either_o through_o want_n of_o opportunity_n etc._n etc._n 2._o that_o he_o shall_v by_o christ_n be_v censurable_a as_o the_o adulterer_n under_o the_o law_n s._n but_o what_o be_v the_o full_a importance_n of_o look_v on_o a_o woman_n to_o lust_n c._n it_o be_v not_o to_o look_v to_o that_o end_n that_o i_o may_v lust_n as_o some_o be_v willing_a to_o interpret_v here_o by_o this_o mean_n make_v the_o look_v sinful_a only_o in_o order_n to_o that_o end_n that_o lust_a without_o design_v of_o which_o they_o conceive_v the_o look_v itself_o will_v be_v no_o fault_n but_o either_o to_o look_v so_o long_o till_o i_o lust_n or_o else_o to_o satisfy_v my_o lust_n though_o not_o with_o the_o yield_n to_o the_o corporal_a pollution_n yet_o so_o far_o as_o to_o feed_v my_o 〈◊〉_d eye_n to_o gaze_v to_o dwell_v on_o the_o beauty_n of_o other_o woman_n i_o shall_v give_v it_o you_o in_o the_o language_n of_o the_o father_n who_o have_v thus_o interpret_v it_o he_o that_o stand_v and_o look_v earnest_o theoph._n he_o that_o make_v it_o abusinesse_n to_o look_v earnest_o upon_o gallant_a body_n and_o beautiful_a face_n adultery_n there_o be_v a_o adulterous_a look_n as_o well_o as_o a_o adulterous_a embrace_n the_o former_a forbid_v by_o christ_n as_o well_o as_o the_o latter_a by_o moses_n s._n i_o have_v not_o think_v this_o prohibition_n of_o christ_n have_v be_v so_o severe_a but_o see_v it_o be_v the_o opinion_n of_o the_o ancient_a father_n that_o the_o word_n be_v thus_o to_o be_v interpret_v and_o that_o the_o feed_n of_o the_o eye_n yield_v to_o satisfy_v that_o with_o unlawful_a object_n the_o beauty_n of_o any_o but_o our_o own_o wife_n and_o the_o stir_v up_o of_o fire_n within_o which_o be_v apt_a to_o be_v kindle_v by_o that_o mean_n be_v here_o forbid_a i_o shall_v no_o long_o doubt_v of_o it_o but_o resolve_v and_o with_o job_n make_v a_o covenant_n with_o my_o eye_n that_o i_o will_v not_o behold_v a_o maid_n i._n e._n please_v myself_o with_o the_o contemplation_n of_o her_o beauty_n and_o the_o lord_n give_v i_o grace_n to_o make_v good_a this_o resolution_n but_o then_o if_o it_o be_v a_o fault_n thus_o to_o behold_v will_v it_o not_o be_v so_o also_o in_o the_o woman_n that_o be_v thus_o behold_v as_o the_o patient_a in_o adultery_n sin_n as_o well_o as_o the_o
