labour_v and_o endeavour_n to_o serve_v he_o in_o the_o duty_n of_o holiness_n and_o righteousness_n and_o that_o not_o by_o fit_n and_o flash_n only_o but_o from_o the_o time_n of_o our_o conversion_n all_o the_o remainder_n of_o our_o life_n §._o sect._n 3_o that_o by_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n we_o be_v strong_o bind_v unto_o all_o christian_a duty_n of_o a_o godly_a life_n the_o five_o benefit_n be_v the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n which_o god_n have_v make_v with_o we_o in_o jesus_n christ_n for_o be_v redeem_v by_o his_o full_a satisfaction_n death_n &_o obedience_n the_o lord_n have_v make_v a_o new_a covenant_n with_o we_o not_o like_o that_o under_o the_o law_n the_o condition_n whereof_o be_v perfect_a obedience_n the_o which_o be_v impossible_a unto_o we_o by_o reason_n of_o our_o imperfection_n and_o corruption_n the_o promise_n be_v make_v void_a and_o unprofitable_a see_v this_o new_a covenant_n be_v not_o ground_v upon_o our_o work_n and_o worthiness_n but_o upon_o the_o free_a mercy_n of_o god_n and_o the_o all-sufficient_a merit_n of_o jesus_n christ_n in_o which_o the_o lord_n promise_v for_o his_o part_n that_o he_o will_v be_v our_o gracious_a god_n and_o love_a father_n that_o he_o will_v pardon_v and_o forgive_v we_o all_o our_o sin_n and_o give_v unto_o we_o all_o good_a thing_n spiritual_a and_o temporal_a in_o this_o life_n and_o glory_n and_o happiness_n in_o the_o life_n to_o come_v and_o we_o for_o our_o part_n promise_n unto_o god_n again_o that_o he_o shall_v be_v our_o god_n and_o we_o his_o people_n and_o that_o we_o will_v receive_v and_o embrace_v all_o his_o blessing_n promise_v by_o a_o true_a and_o lively_a faith_n and_o especial_o jesus_n christ_n and_o all_o his_o benefit_n and_o whole_o rest_v upon_o he_o for_o our_o justification_n and_o salvation_n that_o he_o may_v be_v all_o in_o all_o and_o have_v the_o whole_a glory_n of_o his_o own_o gracious_a and_o free_a gift_n and_o because_o a_o dead_a and_o fruitless_a faith_n can_v do_v this_o therefore_o by_o a_o necessary_a consequence_n we_o promise_v that_o we_o will_v approve_v our_o faith_n to_o be_v lively_a and_o effectual_a for_o these_o use_n by_o bring_v forth_o the_o fruit_n thereof_o in_o unfeigned_a and_o hearty_a repentance_n and_o amendment_n of_o life_n now_o whereas_o we_o covenant_n that_o he_o shall_v be_v our_o god_n and_o we_o will_v be_v his_o people_n we_o do_v not_o promise_v that_o we_o will_v make_v a_o bare_a profession_n of_o these_o thing_n in_o word_n only_o but_o that_o in_o deed_n and_o truth_n we_o will_v have_v he_o to_o be_v our_o god_n in_o our_o heart_n by_o desire_v and_o endeavour_v to_o cleave_v unto_o he_o alone_o love_a fear_v hope_v and_o trust_v in_o he_o and_o no_o other_o and_o that_o in_o our_o life_n and_o action_n we_o will_v labour_v to_o glorify_v he_o by_o live_v as_o it_o become_v his_o people_n and_o bring_v forth_o the_o fruit_n of_o holiness_n and_o righteousness_n in_o the_o whole_a course_n of_o our_o conversation_n the_o which_o covenant_n strong_o bind_v we_o to_o these_o duty_n see_v as_o it_o be_v on_o god_n part_n most_o unchangeable_a be_v effectual_o ratify_v and_o confirm_v by_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n by_o god_n own_o hand-writing_n in_o his_o word_n and_o gospel_n whereunto_o he_o have_v annex_v his_o seal_n and_o sacrament_n yea_o by_o his_o solemn_a oath_n wherein_o it_o be_v impossible_a that_o god_n shall_v lie_v for_o have_v 18._o heb._n 6._o 18._o no_o great_a to_o swear_v by_o he_o have_v swear_v by_o himself_o that_o he_o will_v not_o fail_v of_o any_o of_o his_o promise_n make_v in_o christ_n so_o be_v it_o confirm_v on_o our_o part_n by_o our_o solemn_a vow_n in_o baptism_n where_o as_o it_o be_v by_o a_o sacramental_a oath_n we_o have_v bind_v ourselves_o to_o renounce_v the_o service_n of_o sin_n and_o satan_n the_o world_n and_o the_o flesh_n and_o that_o we_o will_v serve_v god_n and_o no_o other_o in_o the_o duty_n of_o holiness_n and_o righteousness_n all_o the_o day_n of_o our_o life_n to_o which_o end_n we_o make_v a_o solemn_a profession_n of_o our_o faith_n and_o take_v upon_o we_o god_n livery_n and_o cognizance_n promise_v that_o we_o will_v fight_v under_o his_o colour_n and_o standard_n against_o all_o the_o enemy_n of_o our_o salvation_n and_o therefore_o see_v we_o have_v make_v this_o vow_n and_o promise_v unto_o god_n and_o have_v upon_o many_o occasion_n renew_v our_o covenant_n that_o we_o will_v in_o all_o thing_n serve_v &_o please_v he_o we_o must_v in_o the_o whole_a course_n of_o our_o life_n careful_o endeavour_n to_o perform_v what_o we_o have_v promise_v unless_o we_o will_v be_v esteem_v covenant-breaker_n falsifier_n of_o our_o word_n and_o promise_n not_o to_o man_n but_o to_o god_n himself_o yea_o perfidious_a traitor_n to_o he_o and_o our_o own_o soul_n the_o which_o will_v be_v much_o more_o intolerable_a and_o unexcusable_a see_v in_o this_o
