thou_o will_v i_o say_v then_o learn_v of_o this_o believer_n imitate_v he_o in_o what_o have_v be_v declare_v and_o what_o i_o shall_v further_o rehearse_v touch_v his_o knowledge_n belief_n and_o life_n for_o i_o have_v only_o break_v the_o thread_n of_o my_o discourse_n to_o let_v in_o this_o use_n in_o way_n of_o a_o parenthasis_n which_o otherwise_o come_v too_o late_o must_v have_v be_v leave_v out_o and_o now_o i_o return_v to_o finish_v or_o complete_a the_o foregoing_a character_n for_o thereunto_o may_v be_v add_v as_o follow_v 25._o §_o he_o love_v and_o fear_n and_o believe_v himself_o honest_o and_o unblamable_o before_o those_o among_o who_o he_o live_v that_o he_o may_v not_o dishonour_n god_n nor_o offend_v either_o those_o that_o be_v within_o or_o those_o that_o be_v without_o he_o will_v never_o suffer_v base_a thought_n of_o god_n to_o find_v harbour_n in_o his_o heart_n deal_v he_o never_o so_o harsh_o with_o he_o be_v more_o prone_a to_o complain_v of_o his_o sin_n then_o of_o his_o punishment_n for_o he_o will_v turn_v his_o eye_n inward_a and_o read_v his_o sin_n in_o his_o punishment_n and_o instead_o of_o murmur_v for_o the_o few_o thing_n he_o want_v as_o who_o be_v believer_n indeed_o be_v only_o know_v where_o the_o power_n of_o godliness_n be_v in_o contempt_n where_o a_o christian_a in_o name_n only_o will_v scoff_n at_o a_o christian_a indeed_o for_o in_o such_o time_n many_o will_v superstitious_o adore_v the_o crucifix_n that_o be_v enemy_n to_o the_o cross_n of_o christ_n and_o worship_v the_o dead_a
who_o have_v divers_a and_o those_o no_o small_a fault_n yet_o with_o one_o breath_n do_v god_n report_v both_o these_o the_o high_a place_n be_v not_o remove_v and_o nevertheless_o asahs_n heart_n plant_n be_v a_o vine_n and_o not_o a_o thorn_n yea_o where_o there_o be_v any_o one_o grace_n in_o truth_n there_o be_v every_o one_o in_o their_o measure_n if_o thou_o be_v sure_a thou_o have_v love_n i_o be_o sure_a thou_o have_v faith_n for_o they_o be_v as_o inseparable_a as_o fire_n and_o heat_n life_n and_o motion_n and_o so_o of_o other_o grace_n §_o 73._o but_o sixthly_a for_o i_o will_v go_v yet_o further_o with_o thou_o suppose_v nothing_o that_o i_o have_v hitherto_o say_v will_v satisfy_v thou_o and_o that_o thou_o will_v not_o auknowledge_v any_o of_o these_o grace_n to_o be_v in_o thou_o yet_o still_o thy_o case_n may_v be_v good_a enough_o for_o a_o christian_a in_o time_n of_o spiritual_a distemper_n and_o desersion_n be_v as_o one_o in_o a_o sound_n in_o which_o sinner_n who_o have_v so_o tender_a conscience_n that_o they_o dare_v not_o yield_v to_o the_o least_o evil_a for_o the_o world_n good_n and_o refuse_v no_o mean_n of_o be_v make_v better_o turn_v every_o probation_n into_o reprobation_n every_o dejection_n into_o rejection_n and_o if_o they_o be_v cast_v down_o they_o cry_v out_o they_o be_v cast_v away_o but_o in_o such_o distemper_n a_o man_n be_v not_o a_o competent_a judge_n in_o his_o own_o case_n as_o in_o humane_a law_n there_o be_v annullity_n hold_v of_o word_n and_o action_n extort_a and_o wrong_v from_o man_n by_o fear_n because_o in_o such_o case_n a_o man_n be_v hold_v not_o to_o have_v power_n or_o command_v in_o some_o sort_n of_o himself_o a_o trouble_a soul_n be_v like_o trouble_a water_n we_o can_v discern_v nothing_o clear_o in_o it_o wherefore_o in_o such_o case_n a_o man_n must_v call_v to_o remembrance_n the_o time_n past_a and_o how_o it_o have_v be_v with_o he_o former_o as_o david_n do_v psal_n 77.2_o to_o 12._o and_o likewise_o job_n chap._n 31._o and_o he_o must_v thou_o do_v and_o then_o if_o ever_o thou_o have_v true_a faith_n wrought_v in_o thy_o heart_n it_o can_v never_o be_v clean_o extinguish_v and_o so_o of_o love_n and_o godly_a sorrow_n for_o the_o gift_n and_o call_n of_o god_n be_v without_o repentance_n as_o it_o be_v rom._n 11.29_o i_o the_o lord_n change_v not_o mal._n 3_o 6._o and_o the_o weak_a faith_n if_o true_a though_o it_o be_v not_o the_o like_a strong_a yet_o it_o be_v the_o like_a precious_a faith_n to_o that_o of_o abraham_n whereby_o to_o lay_v hold_n
