or_o if_o he_o keep_v a_o good_a house_n or_o give_v alm_n or_o such_o like_a they_o will_v say_v he_o be_v a_o good_a man_n and_o if_o he_o go_v not_o to_o heaven_n they_o know_v not_o who_o shall_v but_o we_o must_v learn_v that_o none_o be_v good_a man_n but_o those_o which_o regard_n to_o walk_v in_o all_o duty_n both_o in_o the_o first_o table_n of_o the_o law_n and_o also_o in_o the_o second_o q._n when_o god_n rebuke_v the_o israelit_n by_o the_o prophet_n he_o find_v fault_n with_o they_o for_o want_v of_o duty_n in_o man_n towards_o man_n and_o commend_v mercy_n &_o pity_n justice_n and_o judgement_n 6.8_o judgement_n mich._n 6.8_o as_o though_o they_o be_v the_o special_a thing_n require_v a._n that_o be_v very_o true_a that_o god_n by_o his_o prophet_n sundry_a time_n do_v so_o urge_v the_o duty_n of_o man_n towards_o man_n as_o though_o they_o be_v the_o sum_n of_o all_o but_o this_o be_v not_o to_o prefer_v the_o second_o table_n of_o the_o law_n before_o the_o first_o but_o to_o detect_v hypocrite_n which_o vaunt_v much_o of_o zeal_n towards_o god_n for_o he_o prove_v that_o they_o have_v no_o love_n of_o god_n seeinge_v they_o deal_v so_o wicked_o one_o against_o another_o q._n let_v we_o then_o proceed_v unto_o the_o first_o commandment_n of_o the_o second_o table_n honour_v thy_o father_n and_o mother_n a._n this_o commandment_n be_v great_a as_o it_o may_v appear_v not_o only_o because_o it_o be_v set_v in_o the_o top_n or_o come_v in_o the_o forefront_n of_o precept_n towards_o man_n but_o also_o by_o the_o grievous_a penalty_n which_o be_v be_v the_o staff_n of_o their_o age_n q._n be_v there_o only_a the_o duty_n of_o child_n to_o be_v consider_v in_o this_o commandment_n a._n here_o be_v also_o the_o duty_n of_o parent_n towards_o their_o child_n contain_v and_o not_o only_o that_o but_o also_o the_o duty_n of_o all_o inferior_n as_o the_o wife_n to_o the_o husband_n the_o subject_n to_o their_o prince_n the_o servant_n to_o their_o master_n the_o people_n to_o their_o teacher_n the_o young_a to_o the_o age_a and_o contrariwise_o of_o all_o those_o superior_n towards_o their_o inferior_n q._n what_o reason_n have_v you_o to_o show_v this_o see_v here_o be_v set_v down_o express_o no_o more_o but_o that_o which_o child_n owe_v to_o their_o parent_n a._n there_o be_v great_a reason_n and_o manifest_v first_o for_o parent_n when_o god_n will_v child_n to_o honour_v they_o they_o be_v also_o bind_v to_o do_v those_o thing_n for_o which_o they_o be_v to_o be_v honour_v also_o for_o all_o superior_n they_o be_v fit_o represent_v by_o the_o title_n of_o father_n and_o mother_n in_o respect_n of_o the_o affection_n which_o shall_v be_v in_o they_o unto_o their_o inferior_n q._n then_o let_v we_o brief_o consider_v the_o several_a duty_n which_o be_v require_v in_o each_o of_o these_o and_o first_o show_v wherein_o parent_n be_v bind_v unto_o their_o child_n a._n the_o father_n and_o mother_n be_v bind_v as_o concern_v this_o bodylie_a life_n to_o make_v honest_a provision_n for_o the_o sustenance_n of_o their_o child_n and_o therefore_o the_o unchriftie_a dicer_n and_o drunkard_n which_o waste_v away_o their_o good_n who_o child_n may_v well_o be_v count_v fatherless_a &_o their_o wife_n widow_n do_v very_o unnatural_o sin_n and_o break_v this_o commandment_n of_o god_n q._n be_v there_o no_o further_a thing_n require_v at_o their_o hand_n then_o this_o a._n yes_o they_o be_v to_o care_v not_o only_o for_o the_o body_n in_o this_o life_n but_o also_o most_o especial_o for_o ephe._n 6.4_o whereby_o we_o may_v see_v not_o only_a how_o these_o be_v deceive_v which_o when_o they_o have_v bring_v up_o their_o child_n and_o provide_v well_o for_o they_o in_o the_o world_n will_v say_v they_o have_v do_v their_o part_n although_o they_o have_v not_o teach_v they_o to_o know_v god_n but_o also_o what_o a_o great_a account_n they_o have_v to_o make_v before_o god_n for_o the_o soul_n of_o their_o child_n by_o which_o also_o we_o may_v judge_v how_o cruel_a those_o be_v even_o more_o than_o savage_a beast_n who_o not_o only_o by_o negligence_n in_o not_o teach_v their_o child_n the_o fear_n of_o god_n but_o also_o by_o corrupt_a example_n do_v lead_v they_o into_o evil_n and_o so_o murder_v their_o soul_n for_o the_o child_n instead_o of_o a_o godly_a instruction_n do_v hear_v his_o father_n swear_v lie_v slander_v and_o rail_v do_v see_v he_o deal_v deceitful_o and_o unjust_o and_o to_o walk_v in_o every_o evil_a way_n q._n then_o you_o do_v not_o account_v those_o father_n to_o have_v discharge_v their_o whole_a duty_n which_o do_v teach_v their_o child_n to_o say_v the_o ten_o commandment_n the_o lord_n prayer_n and_o the_o article_n of_o the_o faith_n and_o say_v they_o have_v do_v what_o they_o can_v a._n it_o be_v most_o sure_o they_o have_v to_o render_v account_n unto_o god_n for_o a_o far_o great_a matter_n than_o the_o teach_v they_o to_o speak_v these_o thing_n for_o they_o be_v to_o see_v that_o they_o understand_v they_o they_o be_v to_o instruct_v they_o in_o all_o point_n of_o true_a religion_n they_o be_v to_o show_v they_o the_o step_n of_o godliness_n they_o be_v to_o exhort_v they_o with_o all_o diligence_n yea_o &_o to_o charge_v they_o to_o fear_n god_n and_o to_o walk_v in_o his_o way_n
which_o god_n much_o abhor_v as_o it_o may_v appear_v by_o the_o penalty_n that_o the_o murderer_n shall_v without_o all_o pity_n be_v put_v to_o death_n 35.16_o death_n num._n 35.16_o q._n be_v hurt_v their_o cattle_n likewise_o when_o they_o inward_o so_o covet_v the_o good_n of_o their_o neighbour_n that_o they_o seek_v to_o win_v it_o from_o he_o by_o card_n die_n or_o bowl_n q._n do_v you_o judge_v that_o theft_n for_o man_n to_o increase_v their_o good_n by_o game_a a._n there_o be_v theft_n first_o in_o the_o heart_n both_o of_o he_o that_o win_v and_o of_o he_o that_o lose_v
