of_o their_o pride_n and_o false_a imagination_n to_o the_o end_n therefore_o that_o all_o creature_n shall_v know_v their_o own_o case_n and_o imperfection_n their_o damnable_a state_n and_o condition_n the_o law_n be_v proclaim_v which_o beside_o that_o it_o manifest_v unto_o we_o the_o wonderful_a mercy_n of_o god_n towards_o we_o as_o also_o the_o state_n of_o adam_n our_o first_o parent_n and_o the_o filthiness_n of_o all_o our_o sinful_a and_o abominable_a live_n and_o the_o give_v furthermore_o unto_o we_o such_o precept_n and_o commandment_n of_o virtuous_a conversation_n and_o live_n as_o always_o be_v seemly_a for_o godly_a man_n to_o use_v by_o the_o which_o all_o man_n at_o all_o time_n shall_v have_v rectify_v and_o amend_v their_o ungodly_a life_n it_o also_o adam_n at_o what_o time_n he_o know_v that_o he_o have_v offend_v and_o break_v his_o commandment_n he_o perceive_v immediate_o what_o state_n he_o stand_v in_o and_o by_o the_o accusation_n of_o his_o own_o conscience_n he_o feel_v in_o himself_o the_o prick_n of_o sin_n he_o begin_v then_o to_o be_v trudge_v and_o to_o hide_v himself_o from_o he_o and_o seek_v mean_n to_o cover_v himself_o although_o with_o most_o simple_a and_o very_a slender_a clothing_n which_o he_o then_o according_o but_o little_a trust_v unto_o like_a as_o it_o be_v all_o unprofitable_a that_o man_n of_o his_o own_o brain_n will_v devise_v to_o cloak_v his_o sin_n with_o all_o although_o both_o he_o and_o he_o make_v fly_v never_o so_o fast_o from_o the_o face_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o seek_v mean_n to_o hide_v themselves_o but_o yet_o notwithstanding_o all_o this_o say_a disobedience_n haughty_a and_o proud_a stubbornness_n of_o adam_n which_o after_o he_o have_v most_o wretched_o offend_v choose_v rather_o to_o hide_v himself_o from_o god_n than_o meek_o to_o acknowledge_v his_o fault_n before_o he_o the_o love_a lord_n be_v strike_v so_o full_a of_o compassion_n and_o mercy_n towards_o man_n virtue_n of_o their_o justification_n to_o the_o end_n it_o shall_v appear_v that_o he_o be_v of_o himself_o natural_o true_a and_o righteous_a and_o the_o only_a author_n of_o righteousness_n to_o see_v he_o be_v god_n unto_o all_o man_n it_o be_v expedient_a that_o his_o benefit_n also_o be_v common_a to_o all_o man_n he_o be_v therefore_o none_o other_o that_o justify_v the_o circumcise_a draw_v man_n from_o the_o confidence_n of_o the_o law_n unto_o the_o faith_n of_o the_o gospel_n than_o he_o that_o justify_v the_o uncircumcised_a call_v they_o from_o the_o worship_v of_o idol_n say_v that_o all_o thing_n must_v be_v do_v by_o faith_n than_o thou_o make_v the_o law_n of_o moses_n to_o be_v vain_a and_o unprofitable_a unto_o the_o jew_n god_n forbid_v that_o for_o we_o do_v not_o only_o not_o disallow_v nor_o despise_v the_o law_n but_o we_o do_v also_o confirm_v and_o establish_v the_o law_n declare_v now_o that_o thing_n true_o and_o just_o to_o be_v do_v and_o fulfil_v which_o the_o law_n heretofore_o have_v promise_v to_o come_v to_o pass_v show_v forth_o also_o he_o in_o who_o only_o the_o sum_n of_o the_o law_n be_v whole_o and_o altogether_o comprehend_v neither_o can_v a_o man_n say_v that_o to_o be_v clean_o abolish_v and_o put_v away_o which_o be_v rather_o repair_v and_o bring_v into_o a_o better_a state_n but_o it_o chance_v in_o this_o behalf_n as_o in_o a_o tree_n that_o bear_v fruit_n which_o when_o the_o blossom_n thereof_o do_v vanish_v and_o fall_v away_o then_o in_o their_o stead_n do_v follow_v the_o pleasant_a fruit_n itself_o or_o as_o in_o the_o steed_n of_o the_o vanish_v shadow_n do_v follow_v the_o very_a perfect_a and_o lively_a body_n the_o four_o chapter_n he_o declare_v by_o the_o example_n of_o abraham_n only_a badge_n the_o jew_n be_v call_v jew_n yet_o let_v we_o consider_v with_o ourselves_o what_o this_o mighty_a father_n do_v obtain_v for_o the_o scripture_n do_v great_o praise_v and_o commend_v he_o which_o commendation_n &_o praise_n if_o it_o come_v unto_o he_o by_o circumcision_n or_o else_o by_o the_o observance_n of_o other_o thing_n appoint_v in_o moses_n law_n i_o can_v not_o deny_v but_o he_o have_v occasion_n to_o glory_n but_o the_o glory_n be_v not_o with_o god_n but_o with_o man_n and_o why_o with_o man_n very_o because_o he_o have_v the_o bodily_a sign_n &_o note_n whereby_o he_o be_v only_o know_v to_o be_v a_o jew_n and_o why_o not_o with_o god_n because_o the_o praise_n come_v not_o through_o the_o excellency_n of_o faith_n abraham_n which_o be_v the_o very_a only_a thing_n that_o commend_v all_o man_n to_o the_o perfect_v clearness_n of_o the_o face_n of_o god_n but_o abraham_n to_o speak_v more_o of_o he_o obtain_v the_o praise_n of_o justification_n with_o god_n himself_o therefore_o it_o come_v not_o to_o he_o by_o the_o observation_n of_o the_o law_n but_o only_o by_o the_o true_a faith_n which_o all_o the_o jew_n and_o also_o all_o gentile_n shall_v diligent_o search_v for_o as_o the_o love_a child_n of_o faithful_a abraham_n and_o let_v this_o which_o i_o now_o say_v be_v take_v to_o none_o effect_n unless_o the_o holy_a scripture_n do_v itself_o this_o be_v then_o to_o be_v consider_v in_o asmuch_o as_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n be_v mortal_a as_o be_v the_o husband_n to_o the_o wife_n it_o can_v be_v no_o wonder_n to_o the_o true_a christian_n man_n to_o hear_v that_o it_o be_v dead_a which_o so_o long_o as_o it_o be_v alive_a have_v full_a strength_n and_o power_n over_o they_o that_o be_v in_o subjection_n to_o it_o how_o be_v it_o at_o this_o time_n you_o jew_n you_o have_v no_o matter_n to_o do_v with_o the_o law_n in_o as_o much_o as_o it_o be_v now_o dead_a to_o you_o effect_n or_o at_o the_o least_o wise_n you_o dead_a to_o it_o though_o it_o be_v still_o alive_a for_o after_o that_o chryst_n which_o be_v the_o only_a truth_n come_v amongst_o we_o all_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n be_v abrogate_v frustrate_v and_o of_o none_o effect_n as_o touch_v the_o letter_n and_o ceremony_n thereof_o consider_v therefore_o you_o be_v all_o now_o incorporate_a into_o the_o body_n of_o chryst_n and_o marry_v unto_o he_o as_o a_o wife_n unto_o her_o husband_n be_v set_v at_o liberty_n from_o her_o old_a husband_n by_o the_o death_n of_o the_o law_n and_o further_o christ_n see_v your_o husband_n now_o at_o these_o day_n be_v live_v and_o immortal_a because_o he_o die_v for_o your_o sake_n and_o rise_v again_o from_o death_n to_o life_n and_o so_o evermore_o afterward_o to_o continue_v alive_a it_o shall_v be_v now_o lust_n also_o take_v some_o occasion_n by_o the_o law_n itself_o because_o as_o i_o say_v before_o man_n do_v most_o common_o lust_n after_o that_o which_o be_v forbid_v they_o i_o be_v then_o even_o knowledge_n and_o reason_n declare_v unto_o i_o to_o be_v honest_a though_o i_o myself_o do_v covet_v the_o same_o but_o i_o rather_o commit_v that_o thing_n which_o be_v unresonable_a &_o dishonest_a the_o which_o though_o i_o hate_v &_o detest_v it_o yet_o i_o do_v commit_v the_o same_o body_n because_o the_o vice_n and_o power_n of_o concupiscence_n that_o be_v in_o i_o violent_o compel_v and_o power_n he_o glad_o shun_v and_o strive_v against_o all_o corrupt_a motion_n and_o the_o filthy_a desire_n of_o sin_n how_o be_v it_o that_o part_n of_o we_o be_v most_o proper_o call_v the_o man_n which_o of_o itself_o be_v most_o pure_a and_o clean_a and_o best_a incline_v therefore_o as_o often_o as_o my_o inward_a man_n consent_v to_o the_o goodness_n of_o the_o law_n be_v stir_v and_o so_o consent_v to_o honesty_n and_o yet_o do_v the_o contrary_a it_o seem_v then_o that_o it_o be_v not_o i_o that_o do_v it_o for_o what_o be_v he_o which_o do_v the_o thing_n that_o he_o hate_v and_o strength_n and_o force_n to_o drive_v i_o to_o offend_v than_o be_v reason_n which_o call_v i_o to_o the_o estimation_n of_o virtue_n i_o be_o forcible_o draw_v from_o the_o good_a use_n thereof_o which_o i_o most_o special_o desire_v and_o do_v daily_o commit_v the_o sin_n and_o iniquity_n which_o i_o inward_o hate_v and_o most_o just_o condemn_v consider_v therefore_o that_o a_o man_n in_o do_v evil_a do_v it_o not_o voluntary_o or_o with_o glad_a consent_n but_o by_o enforcement_n and_o against_o his_o will_n then_o when_o that_o thing_n be_v commit_v which_o my_o inward_a man_n most_o glad_o repugn_v and_o strive_v against_o it_o be_v not_o true_o and_o proper_o say_v that_o i_o be_o the_o committer_n of_o the_o evil_a but_o rather_o more_o apt_o to_o be_v apply_v to_o the_o gross_a desire_n promptness_n and_o readiness_n of_o the_o outward_a man_n man._n in_o who_o always_o sin_n be_v resident_a and_o bear_v most_o deadly_a sway_n which_o promptness_n to_o evil_a the_o law_n can_v take_v away_o from_o i_o but_o so_o oft_o as_o i_o yield_v and_o obey_v to_o evil_a than_o the_o law_n open_v and_o lay_v plain_o before_o i_o by_o the_o testimony_n of_o my_o conscience_n the_o just_a judgement_n of_o god_n over_o i_o and_o perpetual_a condemnation_n to_o my_o soul_n the_o good_a nature_n of_o reason_n and_o honesty_n through_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o the_o inward_a man_n draw_v i_o to_o the_o estimation_n of_o love_n and_o virtue_n whereunto_o i_o be_o true_o teach_v by_o the_o law_n but_o i_o find_v also_o a_o other_o law_n in_o the_o member_n of_o my_o outward_a man_n which_o be_v clean_o contrary_a to_o the_o law_n of_o my_o inward_a man_n and_o violent_o stir_v i_o to_o the_o greedy_a embracement_n of_o evil_a therefore_o concupiscence_n abide_v thus_o always_o in_o this_o case_n of_o conflict_n that_o reason_n draw_v i_o one_o way_n and_o concupiscence_n a_o other_o way_n it_o common_o thus_o fortune_v that_o the_o worse_a part_n prevail_v and_o reason_n over_o master_v and_o lay_v on_o the_o ground_n for_o the_o promptness_n i_o say_v and_o readiness_n to_o sin_n so_o much_o abound_v in_o i_o as_o also_o the_o accustom_a use_n thereof_o through_o the_o usual_a familiarity_n &_o great_a fellowship_n which_o it_o ever_o have_v with_o my_o weak_a and_o frail_a nature_n that_o i_o be_o still_o hale_v by_o constrainte_fw-fr like_o a_o bond_n slave_n or_o prisoner_n unto_o filthiness_n and_o sin_n whether_o i_o will_v or_o will_v not_o oh_o miserable_a wretch_n that_o i_o be_o which_o be_o thus_o in_o thraldom_n to_o such_o filthy_a slavery_n and_o most_o bitter_a state_n of_o bondage_n who_o shall_v deliver_v i_o and_o make_v i_o free_a from_o this_o
and_o be_v at_o peace_n with_o all_o creature_n superstition_n of_o itself_o be_v contentious_a and_o full_a of_o debate_n but_o the_o true_a worship_v of_o god_n be_v full_a of_o tranquillity_n peace_n and_o quietness_n neither_o can_v it_o be_v any_o marvel_n at_o all_o to_o see_v so_o much_o contention_n amongst_o man_n for_o keep_v of_o such_o superstition_n of_o the_o law_n consider_v the_o same_o be_v never_o at_o one_o with_o god_n himself_o for_o it_o be_v none_o other_o thing_n but_o to_o adhere_v and_o stick_v fast_a to_o the_o carnal_a and_o gross_a law_n which_o god_n rather_o will_v to_o be_v make_v annihilate_v and_o of_o none_o effect_n amongst_o man_n and_o that_o by_o his_o son_n jesus_n chryst_n to_o the_o end_n that_o in_o the_o place_n thereof_o shall_v succeed_v the_o law_n spiritual_a than_o to_o be_v by_o such_o contention_n at_o defiance_n with_o god._n law_n for_o he_o that_o be_v affectionate_a to_o the_o law_n which_o so_o much_o dissent_v according_a to_o our_o godly_a nature_n and_o inclination_n will_v work_v with_o mercy_n that_o thing_n in_o we_o which_o do_v most_o mighty_o work_v in_o the_o lord_n and_o saviour_n jesus_n christ_n in_o utter_a contempt_n those_o thing_n that_o be_v heavenly_a and_o spiritual_a and_o scorn_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v everlasting_a they_o choose_v to_o continue_v their_o life_n in_o momentayne_n and_o worldly_a vanity_n which_o now_o bear_v about_o with_o they_o the_o book_n of_o moses_n but_o they_o do_v not_o understand_v they_o which_o also_o read_v the_o prophet_n but_o they_o yet_o deny_v he_o who_o they_o prophesy_v of_o shall_v come_v but_o here_o peradventure_o a_o man_n will_v demand_v of_o i_o for_o what_o purpose_n i_o discourse_v so_o much_o against_o the_o jew_n jew_n very_o even_o for_o this_o cause_n they_o be_v so_o manifest_o blind_v they_o be_v bereave_v of_o their_o sense_n they_o be_v twofold_a crooked_a and_o be_v utter_o double_v and_o amaze_v in_o their_o brain_n but_o be_v they_o in_o this_o wise_a so_o deep_o fall_v into_o the_o mire_n or_o sink_v into_o the_o tough_a clay_n of_o blindness_n that_o there_o be_v yet_o no_o hope_n leave_v of_o recovery_n and_o to_o raise_v they_o up_o again_o god_n forbid_v for_o their_o fall_n happen_v unto_o they_o but_o for_o a_o certain_a season_n and_o their_o fall_n be_v not_o unprofitable_a to_o you_o because_o thereby_o you_o be_v occasion_v to_o be_v call_v unto_o the_o gospel_n jew_n and_o that_o as_o the_o fall_n of_o the_o jew_n open_v the_o way_n unto_o you_o to_o take_v hold_n of_o your_o salvation_n even_o so_o you_o again_o by_o your_o virtuous_a example_n before_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n draw_v they_o again_o to_o godliness_n and_o stir_v they_o up_o by_o your_o fruitful_a faith_n to_o the_o true_a belief_n in_o christ_n from_o which_o they_o fall_v through_o their_o own_o hateful_a and_o most_o canker_a malice_n wherefore_o if_o the_o fall_n of_o the_o jew_n do_v in_o such_o sort_n profit_v you_o that_o it_o be_v nothing_o at_o all_o prejudicial_a or_o hurtful_a but_o rather_o occasion_v that_o faith_n in_o many_o other_o be_v much_o more_o quick_a and_o lively_a forasmuch_o as_o in_o the_o steed_n of_o a_o few_o that_o fall_v the_o gospel_n of_o chryst_n be_v the_o more_o large_o spread_v amongst_o all_o man_n and_o the_o loss_n of_o one_o nation_n be_v the_o cause_n that_o so_o many_o nation_n be_v win_v and_o bring_v in_o to_o chryst_n how_o much_o more_o than_o shall_v the_o world_n be_v enrich_v with_o the_o christian_a flock_n if_o by_o the_o virtuous_a example_n of_o your_o godly_a religion_n and_o faith_n in_o jesus_n chryst_n that_o same_o nation_n again_o shall_v be_v win_v and_o so_o join_v to_o all_o the_o other_o in_o the_o same_o most_o holy_a profession_n oh_o you_o gentile_n it_o be_v even_o to_o you_o that_o i_o now_o speak_v which_o i_o take_v as_o my_o own_o 1._o because_o by_o appointment_n i_o be_o your_o most_o glad_a apostle_n for_o who_o sake_n though_o i_o can_v find_v in_o my_o heart_n to_o labour_n and_o to_o do_v all_o thing_n be_v they_o never_o so_o hard_a yet_o that_o notwithstanding_o i_o be_o a_o great_a deal_n more_o bind_v to_o execute_v my_o office_n which_o with_o straight_o charge_n be_v committd_a unto_o i_o that_o be_v to_o lucrifie_n and_o win_v you_o unto_o the_o gospel_n of_o chryst_n and_o to_o profit_v you_o in_o such_o godliness_n of_o life_n that_o if_o it_o be_v possible_a i_o may_v by_o that_o mean_n convert_v and_o turn_v again_o my_o native_a countryman_n unto_o the_o same_o godliness_n which_o peradventure_o they_o will_v not_o do_v free_o and_o with_o a_o frank_a courage_n take_v example_n of_o you_o yet_o that_o it_o may_v be_v do_v although_o at_o the_o least_o for_o envy_n and_o hatred_n sake_n for_o as_o the_o country_n itself_o be_v envious_a against_o the_o gentile_n even_o so_o to_o see_v you_o do_v better_o than_o themselves_o they_o will_v be_v loath_a or_o that_o you_o shall_v with_o god_n be_v in_o better_a case_n than_o they_o jew_n likewise_o also_o in_o this_o manner_n though_o i_o be_o not_o able_a to_o save_v they_o all_o yet_o i_o most_o hearty_o pray_v you_o that_o by_o your_o good_a example_n of_o faith_n and_o holy_a life_n which_o you_o have_v promise_v to_o perform_v before_o god_n i_o may_v seem_v to_o bring_v some_o of_o they_o to_o goodness_n again_o and_o i_o do_v not_o doubt_v of_o you_o but_o you_o will_v all_o wish_v and_o desire_v the_o same_o thing_n with_o i_o for_o if_o the_o rejection_n now_o of_o the_o jew_n have_v be_v the_o occasion_n that_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o world_n be_v reconcile_v unto_o god_n because_o their_o fall_n from_o his_o grace_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o the_o gentile_n admission_n to_o it_o how_o much_o better_o shall_v it_o then_o be_v that_o all_o they_o which_o be_v now_o fall_v from_o christ_n do_v repent_v and_o return_v unto_o grace_n again_o and_o to_o become_v as_o new_a bear_v man_n or_o restore_v again_o from_o death_n take_v example_n of_o you_o to_o accomplish_v the_o same_o with_o gladness_n which_o thing_n do_v there_o remain_v then_o nothing_o else_o to_o be_v look_v after_o but_o the_o resurrection_n of_o all_o flesh_n neither_o shall_v we_o despair_v of_o all_o the_o whole_a nation_n for_o the_o impious_a state_n or_o
