light_n do_v darkness_n eccles_n 2._o but_o sure_o much_o more_o be_v the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o law_n and_o of_o god_n as_o we_o have_v it_o reveal_v to_o we_o this_o must_v needs_o be_v much_o more_o excellent_a and_o so_o the_o jew_n esteem_v they_o as_o in_o this_o second_o chapter_n of_o the_o roman_n the_o apostle_n show_v also_o of_o they_o that_o they_o make_v their_o boast_n of_o the_o law_n and_o their_o form_n of_o knowledge_n of_o it_o and_o approve_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v excellent_a and_o what_o do_v the_o two_o great_a book_n of_o the_o creature_n and_o the_o word_n and_o all_o mean_n else_o serve_v for_o but_o to_o increase_v knowledge_n if_o therefore_o all_o tend_v to_o this_o this_o be_v then_o the_o great_a mercy_n of_o all_o the_o rest_n for_o second_o guide_n god_n have_v appoint_v knowledge_n as_o the_o immediate_a guide_n of_o man_n in_o all_o their_o way_n to_o bring_v they_o to_o salvation_n and_o repentance_n for_o to_o that_o it_o lead_v they_o it_o be_v that_o same_o 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d as_o the_o philosopher_n call_v it_o and_o therefore_o the_o law_n rom._n 7._o 1_o 2._o be_v compare_v to_o a_o husband_n so_o far_o as_o it_o be_v write_v in_o or_o reveal_v in_o the_o heart_n that_o as_o a_o husband_n be_v the_o guide_n of_o the_o wife_n in_o her_o youth_n so_o be_v the_o law_n to_o the_o heart_n and_o whereas_o beast_n be_v rule_v by_o a_o bit_n and_o bridle_n god_n he_o rule_v man_n by_o knowledge_n and_o therefore_o if_o man_n be_v wicked_a notwithstanding_o this_o light_n they_o must_v needs_o sin_n high_o see_v there_o be_v no_o other_o curb_n for_o they_o as_o they_o be_v man_n but_o this_o if_o he_o will_v deal_v with_o they_o as_o man_n this_o be_v the_o only_a way_n and_o therefore_o if_o that_o will_v not_o do_v it_o it_o be_v suppose_v nothing_o will_n it_o be_v knowledge_n make_v man_n capable_a of_o sin_n which_o beast_n be_v not_o therefore_o the_o more_o knowledge_n if_o man_n be_v wicked_a withal_o the_o more_o sin_n must_v necessary_o be_v reckon_v to_o they_o so_o as_o god_n do_v not_o simple_o look_v what_o man_n action_n and_o affection_n be_v but_o chief_o what_o their_o knowledge_n be_v and_o according_o judge_v man_n more_o or_o less_o wicked_a i_o may_v illustrate_v this_o by_o that_o comparison_n which_o i_o may_v allude_v unto_o that_o as_o in_o kingdom_n god_n measure_v out_o the_o wickedness_n thereof_o and_o so_o his_o punishment_n according_o principal_o by_o the_o guide_n the_o governor_n thereof_o what_o they_o be_v and_o what_o they_o do_v as_o in_o the_o 5._o of_o jeremie_n the_o 4._o verse_n it_o appear_v where_o first_o god_n look_v upon_o the_o poor_a people_n but_o he_o excuse_v they_o these_o be_v foolish_a and_o know_v not_o the_o way_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o therefore_o god_n will_v have_v be_v move_v to_o spare_v the_o kingdom_n notwithstanding_o their_o sin_n but_o from_o they_o at_o
