true_a pastor_n from_o false_a that_o when_o commandment_n be_v give_v we_o to_o submit_v ourselves_o to_o our_o pastor_n we_o ought_v diligent_o and_o prudent_o to_o discern_v who_o they_o be_v that_o be_v the_o true_a and_o faithful_a leader_n for_o if_o we_o bear_v this_o honour_n and_o reverence_n

word_n be_v not_o effectual_a indifferent_o and_o equal_o in_o all_o for_o the_o virtue_n thereof_o manifest_v itself_o in_o the_o elect_a that_o be_v humble_v in_o the_o true_a acknowledgement_n of_o themselves_o they_o shall_v have_v their_o recourse_n to_o the_o grace_n of_o christ_n which_o can_v be_v do_v unless_o it_o pierce_v into_o the_o very_a depth_n of_o the_o heart_n for_o hypocrisy_n which_o have_v many_o dark_a corner_n and_o wonderful_a conveyance_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n must_v be_v cast_v out_o neither_o be_v it_o enough_o that_o we_o feel_v some_o light_a pricking_n because_o they_o can_v not_o be_v bring_v under_o the_o obedience_n of_o god_n unless_o their_o own_o will_n be_v bring_v to_o nothing_o neither_o can_v they_o otherwise_o receive_v the_o light_n of_o god_n divine_a wisdom_n unless_o the_o light_n of_o the_o flesh_n by_o wisdom_n be_v put_v out_o as_o for_o the_o reprobate_n no_o such_o thing_n can_v be_v perceive_v in_o they_o for_o either_o they_o proud_o contemn_v god_n speak_v unto_o they_o yea_o they_o spare_v not_o to_o deride_v he_o or_o else_o they_o murmur_v against_o his_o doctrine_n &_o obstinate_o kick_v and_o spurn_v against_o it_o anvil_n the_o heart_n of_o the_o reprobate_n compare_v to_o the_o anvil_n so_o that_o even_o as_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v a_o hammer_n so_o have_v they_o also_o a_o heart_n as_o the_o anvil_n drive_v the_o blow_n back_o again_o be_v they_o never_o so_o mighty_a and_o therefore_o it_o be_v unpossible_a the_o word_n of_o god_n shall_v pierce_v so_o far_o in_o they_o as_o to_o come_v to_o the_o division_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o of_o the_o spirit_n for_o this_o cause_n it_o seem_v that_o this_o title_n ought_v only_o to_o be_v restrain_v to_o the_o faithful_a see_v none_o but_o they_o do_v examine_v themselves_o thus_o to_o the_o quick_a notwithstanding_o the_o coherence_n of_o the_o text_n of_o the_o apostle_n show_v that_o it_o be_v a_o general_a sentence_n which_o extend_v itself_o even_o to_o the_o reprobate_n for_o although_o they_o be_v not_o soften_v by_o it_o but_o do_v set_v heart_n of_o iron_n and_o steel_n against_o god_n and_o his_o word_n yet_o must_v they_o necessary_o be_v shut_v up_o under_o their_o own_o condemnation_n it_o be_v true_a they_o laugh_v but_o it_o be_v the_o laughter_n of_o a_o ostler_n as_o they_o say_v for_o they_o feel_v themselves_o wring_v as_o it_o be_v within_o many_o shift_n and_o turn_n they_o make_v that_o they_o may_v not_o come_v near_o the_o judgement_n seat_n of_o god_n but_o thither_o be_v they_o draw_v will_v they_o will_v they_o even_o by_o this_o word_n against_o which_o they_o so_o proud_o exalt_v themselves_o so_o then_o we_o may_v compare_v they_o to_o mad_a dog_n who_o although_o they_o bite_v and_o scratch_v the_o chain_n yet_o they_o gain_v nothing_o because_o they_o still_o remain_v fast_o tie_v therewith_o now_o howsoever_o this_o effect_n of_o the_o word_n do_v not_o show_v itself_o at_o the_o first_o day_n yet_o by_o the_o event_n at_o the_o last_o you_o shall_v know_v that_o the_o word_n be_v not_o preach_v to_o any_o man_n in_o vain_a very_o it_o be_v a_o general_a sentence_n which_o christ_n pronounce_v when_o he_o say_v the_o spirit_n shall_v come_v and_o reprove_v the_o world_n of_o sin_n joh._n 16.8_o but_o how_o do_v the_o spirit_n exercise_v this_o reproof_n very_o forthwith_o arraign_v before_o god_n judgement_n seat_n and_o find_v guilty_a as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v if_o any_o man_n be_v of_o that_o mind_n that_o he_o think_v it_o be_v but_o a_o beat_n of_o the_o air_n in_o vain_a when_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v preach_v he_o great_o err_v and_o deceive_v himself_o for_o the_o word_n be_v lively_a and_o full_a of_o secret_a efficacy_n which_o leave_v no_o part_n of_o a_o man_n untouched_a this_o be_v the_o sum_n then_o of_o these_o word_n to_o wit_n that_o as_o soon_o as_o the_o lord_n have_v open_v his_o sacred_a mouth_n all_o our_o sense_n ought_v forthwith_o to_o be_v open_a and_o to_o receive_v his_o word_n why_o because_o he_o will_v not_o speak_v in_o vain_a as_o if_o his_o word_n shall_v either_o vanish_v or_o fall_v to_o the_o ground_n or_o as_o if_o no_o account_n be_v to_o be_v make_v of_o they_o but_o he_o speak_v with_o efficacy_n to_o the_o conscience_n of_o man_n that_o he_o may_v subject_v they_o unto_o himself_o so_o then_o the_o ark_n of_o the_o covenant_n overlay_v with_o gold_n the_o two_o cherubim_n the_o golden_a pot_n fill_v with_o manna_n aaron_n rod_n and_o the_o two_o table_n hitherto_o the_o table_n 1._o king_n 8.9_o but_o it_o be_v easy_a to_o reconcile_v these_o two_o place_n together_o answer_n god_n have_v command_v that_o the_o pot_n and_o aaron_n rod_n shall_v be_v put_v before_o the_o testimony_n wherefore_o it_o be_v probable_a that_o they_o be_v enclose_v in_o the_o ark_n with_o the_o two_o table_n but_o when_o the_o temple_n be_v build_v every_o one_o of_o these_o thing_n be_v place_v by_o order_n and_o indeed_o the_o holy_a history_n recite_v this_o as_o a_o new_a thing_n to_o wit_n that_o there_o be_v nothing_o in_o the_o ark_n but_o the_o two_o table_n of_o which_o thing_n we_o will_v not_o now_o speak_v particular_o verse_n 5_o because_o nothing_o can_v satisfy_v curious_a head_n the_o apostle_n cut_v off_o occasion_n of_o fall_v into_o those_o subtlety_n which_o fit_v not_o with_o the_o matter_n in_o hand_n least_o by_o too_o large_a a_o recital_n of_o these_o thing_n he_o shall_v break_v off_o the_o chief_a matter_n in_o question_n therefore_o if_o there_o be_v any_o who_o lay_v aside_o this_o admonition_n of_o the_o apostle_n shall_v herein_o curious_o stay_v himself_o such_o a_o one_o shall_v do_v it_o without_o ground_n i_o confess_v indeed_o that_o it_o may_v so_o fall_v out_o for_o some_o respect_n that_o this_o long_a repetition_n may_v have_v place_n but_o for_o the_o present_a it_o be_v better_a to_o bethink_v we_o of_o the_o matter_n ordain_v the_o priest_n go_v always_o into_o the_o first_o tabernacle_n and_o accomplish_v the_o service_n 7_o but_o into_o the_o second_o go_v the_o high_a priest_n alone_o once_o every_o year_n not_o without_o blood_n which_o he_o offer_v for_o himself_o and_o for_o the_o ignorances_n of_o the_o people_n 8_o whereby_o the_o holy_a ghost_n this_o signify_v that_o the_o way_n into_o the_o holy_a of_o all_o be_v not_o yet_o open_v while_o as_o yet_o the_o first_o tabernacle_n be_v stand_v 9_o which_o be_v a_o figure_n for_o that_o present_a time_n wherein_o be_v offer_v gift_n and_o sacrifice_n that_o can_v not_o make_v holy_a concern_v the_o conscience_n he_o that_o do_v the_o service_n 10_o which_o only_o stand_v in_o meat_n and_o drink_n and_o diverse_a wash_n and_o carnal_a rite_n which_o be_v enjoin_v until_o the_o time_n of_o reformation_n 11_o but_o christ_n be_v come_v a_o high_a priest_n of_o good_a thing_n to_o come_v by_o a_o great_a and_o more_o perfect_a tabernacle_n not_o make_v with_o hand_n that_o be_v not_o of_o this_o building_n 12_o neither_o by_o the_o blood_n of_o goat_n and_o calf_n but_o by_o his_o own_o blood_n enter_v he_o in_o once_o unto_o the_o holy_a place_n and_o obtain_v eternal_a redemption_n for_o us._n now_o these_o thing_n thus_o ordain_v etc._n etc._n verse_n 6_o omit_v all_o other_o matter_n he_o undertake_v to_o deal_v overthrow_v of_o this_o first_o tabernacle_n we_o see_v then_o how_o that_o even_o the_o figure_n of_o the_o old_a tabernacle_n do_v admonish_v the_o jew_n that_o they_o be_v to_o aspire_v further_o
