sacrifice_n of_o bread_n and_o wine_n belong_v to_o the_o priesthood_n of_o christ_n the_o apostle_n will_v speak_v full_o hereafter_o of_o the_o ancient_a sacrifice_n but_o of_o this_o new_a not_o a_o treatise_n of_o some_o particular_a part_n of_o doctrine_n but_o it_o be_v the_o last_o close_v up_o and_o perfect_a conclusion_n of_o all_o that_o which_o be_v needful_a for_o we_o to_o know_v unto_o salvation_n and_o in_o this_o sense_n the_o apostle_n do_v take_v the_o last_o day_n and_o the_o last_o time_n which_o thing_n paul_n also_o testify_v where_o he_o say_v that_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n be_v come_v upon_o we_o 1._o cor._n 10.11_o if_o so_o be_v then_o that_o god_n have_v now_o speak_v once_o for_o all_o in_o these_o last_o time_n we_o for_o our_o part_n ought_v to_o hearken_v unto_o it_o and_o not_o only_o so_o but_o in_o give_v ear_n unto_o it_o we_o be_v also_o to_o settle_v and_o stay_v ourselves_o in_o it_o and_o never_o inquire_v further_o home_o to_o the_o mark_n on_o the_o other_o side_n although_o christ_n be_v come_v and_o be_v so_o receive_v yet_o a_o evil_n no_o less_o pernicious_a than_o the_o former_a have_v begin_v to_o reign_v excellent_a covenant_n than_o the_o law_n and_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n much_o more_o noble_a than_o the_o sacrifice_n of_o the_o law_n but_o that_o which_o he_o add_v be_v not_o without_o some_o difficulty_n to_o wit_n objection_n that_o the_o covenant_n of_o the_o gospel_n be_v establish_v upon_o better_a promise_n for_o it_o be_v certain_a that_o even_o the_o very_a same_o hope_n of_o eternal_a life_n which_o we_o now_o have_v be_v set_v before_o the_o ancient_a father_n which_o live_v under_o the_o law_n the_o grace_n of_o adoption_n be_v as_o common_a to_o they_o as_o to_o us._n shall_v affirm_v that_o there_o have_v be_v no_o necessity_n to_o seek_v a_o place_n for_o a_o second_o covenant_n if_o so_o be_v the_o first_o have_v be_v unblameable_a and_o that_o he_o add_v withal_o that_o the_o people_n be_v reproove_v so_o as_o for_o their_o default_n a_o remedy_n be_v give_v by_o the_o new_a covenant_n and_o be_v it_o not_o a_o wicked_a thing_n to_o affirm_v that_o for_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o people_n the_o fault_n shall_v therefore_o be_v cast_v upon_o the_o covenant_n of_o god_n it_o seem_v then_o that_o the_o argument_n be_v unfound_a for_o although_o god_n shall_v condemn_v the_o people_n a_o hundred_o time_n yet_o be_v we_o not_o to_o conclude_v that_o the_o covenant_n shall_v therefore_o be_v faulty_a answer_n but_o this_o objection_n be_v easy_o answer_v for_o although_o the_o fault_n of_o break_v the_o covenant_n be_v just_o impute_v to_o the_o people_n who_o by_o their_o disloyalty_n turn_v away_o from_o the_o lord_n yet_o notwithstanding_o it_o be_v grant_v that_o god_n do_v write_v the_o rule_n of_o holiness_n of_o life_n in_o the_o heart_n which_o yet_o be_v give_v by_o the_o voice_n of_o man_n and_o by_o they_o put_v into_o writing_n what_o be_v all_o this_o to_o the_o purpose_n in_o regard_n of_o ceremony_n i_o answer_v answer_v it_o be_v a_o argument_n from_o the_o whole_a to_o a_o part_n for_o we_o be_v not_o to_o doubt_v but_o they_o be_v include_v under_o the_o name_n of_o the_o old_a testament_n the_o apostle_n fit_o apply_v this_o pprophecy_n to_o his_o present_a purpose_n moreover_o all_o do_v confess_v that_o by_o the_o day_n whereof_o the_o prophet_n make_v mention_v be_v signify_v the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n he_o name_v the_o house_n of_o israel_n and_o the_o house_n of_o judah_n because_o the_o posterity_n of_o abraham_n be_v divide_v into_o two_o kingdom_n therefore_o it_o be_v a_o promise_n that_o the_o whole_a body_n of_o all_o the_o elect_a shall_v be_v gather_v again_o together_o in_o one_o only_o a_o outward_a sound_n that_o beat_v the_o air_n for_o the_o heart_n still_o remain_v full_a of_o rebellion_n and_o frowardness_n cast_v off_o the_o yoke_n of_o wholesome_a doctrine_n in_o a_o with_o it_o while_o it_o remain_v write_v in_o table_n of_o stone_n as_o s._n paul_n teach_v 2._o cor._n 3.3_o to_o be_v short_a then_o do_v we_o receive_v that_o which_o god_n command_v with_o of_o all_o the_o faithful_a that_o he_o see_v another_o law_n in_o his_o member_n rebel_a against_o the_o law_n of_o his_o mind_n so_o that_o he_o obey_v not_o god_n as_o he_o ought_v to_o have_v do_v but_o fail_v therein_o many_o way_n what_o good_a or_o holy_a desire_n then_o soever_o it_o be_v which_o we_o have_v to_o live_v religious_o yet_o we_o shall_v be_v always_o guilty_a before_o god_n have_v his_o efficacy_n continual_o for_o this_o grace_n extend_v itself_o throughout_o the_o whole_a kingdom_n of_o christ_n which_o s._n paul_n also_o do_v sufficient_o show_v 2._o blood_n our_o city_n of_o refuge_n be_v the_o remission_n of_o sin_n in_o christ_n blood_n cor._n 5._o and_o indeed_o this_o be_v the_o city_n of_o our_o refuge_n unto_o which_o if_o we_o flee_v not_o by_o faith_n appear_v that_o they_o serve_v god_n in_o sincerity_n of_o heart_n and_o in_o purity_n of_o conscience_n and_o that_o they_o walk_v in_o his_o commandment_n which_o sure_o they_o can_v not_o have_v do_v unless_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n have_v teach_v they_o inward_o it_o also_o appear_v that_o as_o oft_o as_o they_o think_v upon_o their_o sin_n they_o be_v comfort_v and_o sustain_v by_o the_o hope_n and_o confidence_n which_o they_o have_v in_o the_o free_a remission_n of_o they_o objection_n but_o may_n some_o say_v it_o seem_v that_o the_o apostle_n exclude_v they_o from_o have_v part_n of_o light_n much_o like_o the_o light_n of_o the_o moon_n and_o star_n in_o comparison_n of_o that_o light_n of_o the_o gospel_n which_o now_o show_v itself_o with_o a_o surpass_a clearness_n objection_n if_o it_o be_v object_v that_o the_o faith_n and_o obedience_n of_o abraham_n be_v so_o excellent_a that_o the_o like_a be_v not_o to_o be_v find_v at_o this_o day_n in_o all_o the_o the_o testimony_n wherefore_o it_o be_v probable_a that_o they_o be_v enclose_v in_o the_o ark_n with_o the_o two_o table_n but_o when_o the_o temple_n be_v build_v every_o one_o of_o these_o thing_n be_v place_v by_o order_n and_o indeed_o the_o holy_a history_n recite_v this_o as_o a_o new_a thing_n to_o wit_n that_o there_o be_v nothing_o in_o the_o ark_n but_o the_o two_o table_n of_o which_o thing_n we_o will_v not_o now_o speak_v particular_o verse_n 5_o because_o nothing_o can_v satisfy_v curious_a head_n the_o apostle_n cut_v off_o occasion_n of_o fall_v into_o those_o subtlety_n which_o fit_v not_o with_o the_o matter_n in_o hand_n least_o by_o too_o large_a a_o recital_n of_o these_o thing_n he_o shall_v break_v off_o the_o chief_a matter_n in_o question_n therefore_o if_o ordain_v the_o priest_n go_v always_o into_o the_o first_o tabernacle_n and_o accomplish_v the_o service_n 7_o but_o into_o the_o second_o go_v the_o high_a priest_n alone_o once_o every_o year_n not_o without_o blood_n which_o he_o offer_v for_o himself_o and_o for_o the_o ignorances_n of_o the_o people_n 8_o whereby_o the_o holy_a ghost_n this_o signify_v that_o the_o way_n into_o the_o holy_a of_o all_o be_v not_o yet_o open_v while_o as_o yet_o the_o first_o tabernacle_n be_v stand_v 9_o which_o be_v a_o figure_n for_o that_o present_a time_n wherein_o be_v offer_v gift_n and_o sacrifice_n that_o can_v not_o make_v holy_a concern_v the_o conscience_n he_o that_o do_v the_o service_n 10_o which_o only_o stand_v in_o meat_n and_o drink_n and_o diverse_a wash_n and_o carnal_a rite_n which_o be_v enjoin_v until_o the_o time_n of_o reformation_n 11_o but_o christ_n be_v come_v a_o high_a priest_n of_o good_a thing_n to_o come_v by_o a_o great_a and_o more_o perfect_a
