5._o and_o it_o be_v like_a more_o be_v vacant_a since_o it_o be_v true_a the_o church_n have_v power_n to_o nominate_v bishop_n without_o the_o consent_n of_o the_o civil_a magistrate_n but_o then_o they_o must_v not_o expect_v the_o temporality_n which_o be_v the_o gift_n or_o grant_n of_o king_n and_o such_o bishop_n and_o clergy_n must_v entire_o depend_v on_o the_o voluntary_a contribution_n of_o their_o people_n for_o their_o maintenance_n and_o on_o their_o voluntary_a submission_n for_o their_o juisdiction_n and_o here_o the_o protestant_a clergy_n have_v the_o great_a reason_n in_o the_o world_n to_o complain_v of_o king_n james_n to_o set_v he_o on_o the_o throne_n the_o clergy_n disoblige_v many_o of_o their_o people_n and_o he_o in_o requital_n deprive_v they_o of_o all_o other_o worldly_a support_n or_o power_n beside_o what_o must_v depend_v on_o the_o free_a choice_n of_o those_o very_a people_n who_o for_o his_o sake_n they_o have_v not_o only_o disoblige_v but_o likewise_o help_v to_o bring_v under_o many_o inconvenience_n sect_n xvi_o 2._o king_n james_n take_v away_o the_o maintenance_n of_o the_o present_a protestant_a clergy_n 1._o but_o king_n james_n do_v not_o only_o endeavour_v to_o hinder_v the_o education_n and_o succession_n of_o the_o protestant_a clergy_n but_o he_o likewise_o take_v away_o all_o their_o present_a maintenance_n immediate_o upon_o his_o come_n to_o the_o crown_n their_o popish_a parishioner_n begin_v to_o deny_v the_o payment_n of_o book-money_n which_o be_v a_o considerable_a part_n of_o the_o ecclesiastical_a revenue_n of_o ireland_n a_o great_a part_n of_o the_o tithe_n of_o ireland_n be_v impropriate_a in_o some_o place_n the_o whole_a tithe_n in_o many_o two_o three_o part_n and_o in_o most_o the_o one_o half_a and_o there_o be_v little_o leave_v for_o the_o vicar_n that_o serve_v the_o cure_n except_o it_o be_v the_o three_o part_n of_o the_o tithe_n or_o the_o small_a fee_n due_a out_o of_o burial_n marriage_n or_o easter_n offering_n these_o due_n be_v call_v common_o book-money_n and_o though_o very_o inconsiderable_a in_o themselves_o yet_o make_v a_o great_a part_n and_o in_o some_o place_n the_o whole_a of_o what_o fall_v to_o the_o vicar_n portion_n against_o these_o the_o popish_a judge_n declare_v in_o their_o circuit_n and_o by_o their_o encouragement_n most_o people_n and_o the_o papist_n universal_o deny_v to_o pay_v they_o 2._o the_o priest_n begin_v to_o declare_v that_o the_o tithe_n belong_v to_o they_o and_o forbid_v their_o people_n to_o pay_v they_o to_o the_o
