and_o afterward_o upon_o the_o news_n give_v to_o the_o parliament_n of_o one_o mr._n anthony_n ascams_n death_n the_o parliament_n have_v before_o declare_v to_o bring_v some_o delinquent_n to_o the_o say_v high_a court_n they_o do_v not_o again_o refer_v he_o to_o be_v try_v for_o his_o life_n but_o do_v as_o he_o remember_v eo_fw-la instanti_fw-la pass_v a_o vote_n that_o his_o estate_n shall_v be_v confiscate_v to_o the_o commonwealth_n and_o afterward_o past_a the_o act_n for_o sale_n of_o his_o land_n that_o to_o this_o informant_n knowledge_n for_o many_o year_n together_o after_o the_o first_o appearance_n of_o sir_n john_n stawell_n at_o goldsmith_n hall_n there_o be_v many_o endeavour_n use_v for_o to_o have_v draw_v he_o to_o compound_v and_o to_o have_v have_v the_o benefit_n of_o his_o article_n but_o he_o will_v never_o be_v persuade_v thereunto_o now_o the_o reason_n of_o this_o his_o knowledge_n be_v because_o he_o be_v privy_a to_o the_o act_n on_o his_o behalf_n and_o have_v discourse_n several_a time_n with_o the_o lady_n stawell_n concern_v those_o endeavour_n which_o have_v be_v use_v to_o persuade_v he_o to_o compound_v and_o this_o informant_a say_n to_o she_o can_v there_o be_v no_o way_n find_v out_o whereby_o he_o may_v be_v preserve_v and_o have_v the_o benefit_n of_o his_o article_n she_o answer_v this_o informant_a in_o these_o word_n sir_n you_o know_v what_o endeavour_n have_v be_v use_v and_o how_o we_o will_v have_v persuade_v he_o to_o have_v suffer_v his_o son_n ned_n stawell_n mean_v he_o call_v sir_n edward_n stawell_n to_o have_v compound_v for_o his_o estate_n but_o he_o will_v not_o give_v his_o consent_n thereunto_o but_o do_v threaten_v he_o if_o he_o endeavour_v any_o such_o thing_n for_o say_v she_o he_o do_v still_o flatter_v himself_o with_o vain_a hope_n of_o see_v the_o king_n restore_v and_o although_o there_o be_v every_o day_n more_o unlikelihood_n than_o other_o yet_o his_o faith_n continue_v strong_a that_o have_v some_o discourse_n with_o one_o michael_n tidcomb_n a_o gentleman_n in_o wiltshire_n as_o he_o remember_v upon_o read_v of_o the_o act_n pass_v by_o the_o late_a little_a convention_n or_o parliament_n for_o the_o confirmation_n of_o the_o sale_n of_o sir_n john_n stawel_n land_n the_o say_a gentleman_n speak_v these_o word_n i_o wonder_v say_v he_o that_o sir_n john_n stawell_n shall_v now_o pretend_v to_o the_o article_n of_o exeter_n since_o to_o my_o knowledge_n he_o do_v refuse_v to_o have_v the_o benefit_n of_o they_o for_o say_v he_o when_o i_o be_v a_o prisoner_n in_o ely_n house_n with_o the_o say_a sir_n john_n stawell_n some_o intimation_n we_o have_v from_o the_o then_o king_n that_o we_o shall_v submit_v to_o the_o parliament_n and_o compound_v for_o our_o estate_n upon_o which_o we_o have_v a_o debate_n among_o ourselves_o and_o sir_n john_n stawell_n be_v present_a and_o it_o be_v the_o opinion_n of_o most_o of_o they_o they_o shall_v submit_v to_o compound_v but_o sir_n john_n stawell_n do_v declare_v against_o it_o and_o laugh_v at_o they_o that_o have_v compound_v or_o do_v intend_v it_o and_o this_o informant_n parliament_n but_o not_o of_o that_o committee_n and_o this_o informant_n say_v that_o sir_n john_n stawell_n say_v these_o word_n i_o be_o no_o delinquent_n which_o word_n he_o

the_o parliament_n have_v by_o their_o act_n declare_v that_o he_o be_v not_o admit_v to_o compound_v and_o that_o that_o court_n shall_v try_v he_o as_o one_o not_o admit_v thereunto_o which_o declaration_n no_o inferior_a or_o subordinate_a court_n or_o authority_n whatsoever_o have_v power_n to_o examine_v or_o question_v and_o all_o examination_n resolution_n and_o other_o proceed_n of_o breach_n or_o non-performance_n of_o what_o be_v or_o be_v on_o their_o part_n to_o be_v perform_v since_o their_o article_n be_v grant_v now_o the_o parliament_n have_v declare_v if_o not_o adjudge_v sir_n john_n stawell_n not_o to_o be_v admit_v to_o compound_v have_v adjudge_v or_o declare_v that_o sir_n john_n have_v forfeit_v his_o article_n either_o by_o breach_n or_o non-performance_n
