them into the hand of the heathen and they that hated them ruled over them 41 And he in wrath them gave into the hand of heathen men And they that them did greatly hate them overruled then 42 Their CXLII I Cried unto the Lord with my voice with my voice unto the Lord did I make my supplication I Unto him that is the Lord thus with my voice did cry My supplication with my voice unto the Lord made I. 2 I poured out my complaint before him I shewed before him my trouble 2 Before him then I my complaints did poure out in great store And what to me a trouble was I shewed him before 3 When my spirit was overwhelmed within me then thou knewest my path in the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me 3 When in me was ov'rwhelm'd my sprit my path was known to thee They snares in wayes wherein I walk'd laid privily for me 4 I looked on my right hand and beheld but there was no man that would know me refuge failed me no man cared for my soul. 4 On my right hand I look'd and saw but none at all was there That would me know refuge me fail'd none for my soul did care 5 I cried unto thee O Lord I said Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living 5 I unto thee O Lord did cry I said unto thee then My portion and refuge thou art in land of living men 6 Attend unto my cry for I am brought very low deliver me from my persecutors for they are stronger then I. 6 Sith that I am brought very low attend unto my cry Me from my persecutors save who stronger are then I. 7 Bring my soul out of prison that I may praise thy Name the righteous shall compasse me about for thou shalt deal bountifullie with me 7 That I thy Name may praise bring thou my soul from prison free The just me'l compasse for thou shalt deal bounteously with me PSAL. CXLIII HEar my prayer O Lord give ear to my supplications in thy faithfulnesse answer me and in thy righteousnesse LOrd hear my prayer my sutes hear thou and in thy faithfullnesse An answer give thou unto me and in thy righteousnesse 2 And enter not into judgement with thy servant for in thy sight shall no man living be justified 2 In judgement enter not with him that servant is to thee For justified in thy sight no living man shall be 3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul he hath smitten my life down to the ground he hath made me to dwell in darknesse as those that have been long dead 3 For thâ—… en'mie hath my soul pursu'd my life to ground hath tread He hath me made in darknesse dwell as those that long were dead 4 Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me my heart within me is desolate 4 My spirit therefore me within is overwhelm'd by this This heart of mine within me al 's all desolate it is 5 I remember the dayes of old I meditate on all thy works I muse on the work of thy hands 5 The dayes of old remember I to meditate I use On all thy workes yea on the work done by thy hands I muse 6 I stretch forth my hands unto thee my soul thirsteth after thee as a thirsty land Selah 6 I unto thee stretch forth my hands my soul that is in me Most like unto a thirsty land still thirsteth after thee Selah 7 Hear me speedily O Lord my spirit faileth hide not thy face from me lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit 7 Lord hear with speed my spirit doth fail hide not thy face from me Lest like to them that do go down into the pit I be 8 Cause me to hear thy loving kindnesse in the

LXXVIII GIve ear O my people to my law encline your ears to the words of my mouth O Ye my people give ye ear unto the law that 's mine And of my mouth unto the words do ye your ears incline 2 I will open my mouth in a parable I will utter dark sayings of old 3 Which we have heard and known and our fathers have told us 2 My mouth shall speak a parable and sayings dark of old 3 Which we have heard and also known and us our fathers told 4 We will not hide them from their children shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord and his strength and his wonderfull works that he hath done 4 We from their race will not them hide Gods praises making known To age to come and al 's his strength and wonders he hath done 5 For he established a testimony in Iacob and appointed a law in Israel which he commanded our fathers that they should make them known to their children 5 In Jacob he a testimonie did fix and set a law In Isra'l and our fathers bad them make their children know 6 That the generation to come might know them even the children which should be born who should arise and declare them to their children 6 That them the generation that was to come might know Sons to be born who should arise and to their sons them show 7 That they might set their hope in God and not forget the works of God but keep his commandements 7 That they in the almighty God their hope might only set And his commandements might keep and not Gods works forget 8 And might not be as their fathers a stubborn rebellious generation a generation that set not their heart aright and whose spirit was not sted fast with God 8 And might not as their fathers be a stubborn rebel race A race in heart not right whose sprit with God not stedfait was 9 The children of Ephraim being armed and carrying bowes turned back in the day of battell 9 Then Ephraims children being arm'd who to them bows did take Did in the day of battell all together turn the back 10 They kept not the covenant of God and refused to walk in his law 11 And forgat his works and his wonders that he had shewed them 10 Gods Covenant they not kept and in his law refusd to go 11 His works and wonders they forgat that he to them did show 12 Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers in the land of Egypt in the field of Zoan 12 Things marvellous he in the sight did of their fathers yeeld Within the bounds of Egypt land within the Zoans field 13. their soul did spare But he unto the pestilence their life gave over there 51 And smote all the first born in Egypt the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham 51 And he in Egypt land did smite the first born all that came The chief of all their strength that were within the tents of Ham. 52 But made his own people to goe forth like sheep and guided them in the wildernesse like a flock 52 But his own people like to sheep he did make forth to go And like a flock in wildernesse he them all guided so 53 And he led them on safely so that they feared not but the sea overwhelmed their enemies 53 And he them safely on did lead so was no fear in them But these that were their enemies the sea did overwhelm 54 And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary even to this mountain which his right hand had purchased 54 And he of his own Sanctuarie them to the border led Ev'n to â—…his holy mountain which his right hand purchased 55 He cast out the heathen also before them and divided them an inheritance by line and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents 55 Before them heathens he cast out by line them did divide An heritage and Israels Tribes made in their tents abide 56 Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God and kept not his testimonies 56 Yet did they tempt the Lord most high and him provoked still His Testimonies that he gave to keep they had no will 57 But turned back and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers they were turned aside like a deceitfull bow 57 But like their fathers turned back and dealt unfaithfully They like a bow were turn'd aside that shoots deceitfully 58 For they provoked him to anger with their high place and moved him to jealousie with their graven images 58 For unto anger they provokt him with their places hie And with their graven images him mov'd to jealousie 59 When God heard this he was wroth and greatly abhorred Israel 60 So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh the tent which he placed among men 59 When God this heard he greatly wroth abhorred Israel then 60 So that he Shilo's tent forsook the tent he plac'd with men 61 And delivered his strength into captivity and his glory into the enemies hand 61 And he his strength delivered into captivity And he his glory gave into the hand of th' enemie 62 He gave his people over also unto the sword and was wroth with his inheritance 62 He over his own people then did give the sword unto And he with his inheritance was very wroth also 63 The fire consumed their young men and their maidens were not given to marriage 64 Their Priests fell by the sword and their widows made no lamentation 63 The fire their young men did consume their maids no mariage had 64 Their priests did fall then by the sword their wives no mourning made 65 Then the Lord awaked as one out of â—…p and like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine 65 Then as one out of sleep the Lord did to awake incline And like a mighty man that shouts by reason of his wine 66 And he smote his enemies in the hinder parts he put them to a perpetuall reproach 66 And he then in the hinder parts did smite his en'mieâ—… all Unto reproach he did them put that was perpetuall 67 Moreover he refused the tabernacle of Ioseph and chose not the tribe of Ephraim 68 But â—…hose the tribe of Iudah the mount Sion which he loved 67 He Josephs tent refusd and he not Ephraims tribe approv'd 68 But he of Judah chose the tribe mount Sion which he lov'd 69 And he built his sanctuary like high palaces like the earth which he hath established for ever 69 Like palaces he builded high his Sanctuarie to be Like to the earth for evermore which stablished hath he 70 He chose David also his servant and took him from the sheep-folds 70 Of David that his servant was he also choise did make And he him from the folds of sheep did by his favour take 71 From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Iacob his people and Israel his inheritance 71 Him from ews folowing great with young to feed he did advance His people Jacob and Isra'l his own inheritance 72 So hee fed them according to the integrity of his heart and guided them by the skilfulnesse of his hanâ—…s 72 So he them fed according to his hearts integritie By of his hands the skilfullnesse them also guided he PSAL. LXXIX O God the heathen are come into thine inheritance thy holy temple have they desiled they have laid Ierusalem on heaps LOrd heathens take thine heritage desiled is by them Thy holy temple they on heaps have laid Jerusalem 2 The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth 2 The bodies of thy servants dead they have giv'n to be meat To fowls of heav'n flesh of thy saints to beasts on earth to eat 3 Their bloud have they shed like water round about Ierusalem and there was none to bury them 3 Their blood like water shed they have about Jerusalem And then there was not one at all there for to bury them 4 We are become a reproach to our neighbours a scorn and derision to them that are round about us 4 Unto our neighbours a reproach at last become are we A scorn derision unto them that round about us be 5 How long Lord wilt thou be angry for ever shall thy jealousie burn like fire 5 How long wilt thou be angry Lord for ever shall this â—…e Shall even like unto a fire thus burn thy jealousie 6 Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee and upon the kingdomeâ—… that have not called upon thy Name 6 Thy wrath out on the heathen powr that never have thee known And on the kingdomes that thy Name not called have upon 7 For they have devoured Iacob and laid laid waste his dwelling place 7 For those are they of Jacob that devoured have the race And they have caused for to be laid wast his dwelling place 8 O remember not against us former iniquities let thy â—…ender mercies speedily prevent us for we are brought very low 8 Against us mâ—…de not former sins thy tender mercies now Let them prevent us speedily for we 're brought very low 9 Help us O God of our salvation for the glory of thy Name and deliver us and purge away our sins for thy Names lake 9 O God our saviour to us help for thy Names glory make Deliver purge away our sins ev'n for thine own Names sake 10 Wherefore should the heathen say Where is their God let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the bloud of

worshipped by thee 10 I am the Lord thy God which brought thee out of the land of Egypt open thy mouth wide and I will fill it 10 I am the Lord thy God which brought thee out of Egypt land Thy mouth wide open thou and I will fill it with my hand 11 But my people would not hearken unto my voice and Israel would none of me 11 But yet my people to my voice would not obedient be And they that are of Israel would then have none of me 12 So I gave them up unto their own hearts lust and they walked in their own counsels 12 Unto the lust of their own heart I did them give up so And after that in counsells they that were their own did go 13 O that my people had hearkened unto me and Israel had walked in my wayes 13 O that my people unto me had hearkned in their dayes And that the men of Israel had walked in my wayes 14 I should soon have subdued their enemies and turned my hand against their adversaries 14 I should have soon their enemies subdu'd that them withstand And against their adversaries I should have turnd my hand 15 The haters of the Lord should have submitted themselves unto him but their time should have endured for ever 15 Who hate the Lord should have themselves submitted him before But as for them their time should have endur'd for evermore 16 He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat and with hony out of the rock should I have satisfied thee 16 Them with the finest of the wheat fed also should have he With honey from the rock I should have satisfied thee PSAL. LXXXII GOd standeth in the congregation of the mightie he judgeth among the gods 2 How long will ye judge unjustly and accept the persons of the wicked Selah IN Gods assembly God doth stand among gods judgeth he 2 How long accepting persons vile unjustly judge will ye 3 Defend the poor and fatherlesse do justice to the afflicted and needy 3 Defend those whom poor in the land and fatherlesse ye see Unto afflicted justice do and those that needy be 4 Deliver the poor and needy rid them out of the hand of the wicked 4 Deliver thou those that are poor and in great need do stand Do thou them also safely rid out of the wickeds hand 5 They know not neither will they understand they walk on in darknesse all the foundations of the earth are out of course 5 They know not nor will understand in darknesse they walk on All the foundations of the earth out of their course are gone 6 I have said ye are gods and all of you are children of the most High 7 But ye shall die like men and fall like one of the princes 6 I thus have said that ye are gods the most Highs children all 7 But ye shall die like men and like one of the princes fall 8 Arise O God judge the earth for thou shalt inherit all Nations 8 O God at last do thou arise the earth to judgement call For those that are the Nations thou shalt inherit all PSAL. LXXXIII KEep not thou silence O God hold not thy peace and be not still O God 2 For lo thine enemies make a tumult and they that hate thee have lift up the head LOrd keep not silence hold not peace Lord be not still in need 2 For lo thine en'mies tumult make who hate thee lift the head 3 They have taken crafty counsell against thy people and consulted against thy hidden ones 3 Against thy people counsell they that crafty is did take And they against thy hidden ones did consultations make 4 They have said Come and let us cut them off from being a nation that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance 4 Come let from being a Nation us cut them off they said That of Isra'l the name no more be in remembrance had 5 For they have consulted together with one consent they are confederate against thee 5 Together thus with one consent consulted have they all Confederate they also are against thee great and small 6 The Tabernacles of Edom and the Ishmaelites of Moab and the Hagarens 6 Of Edom there the Tabernacles and Ishmaelites were so And those that were of Moab come with Hagarens also 7 Gebal and Ammon and Amalek the Phistines with the inhabitants of Tyre 8 Assur also is joyned with them they have holpen the children of Lot Selah 7 Gebal Ammon and Amalek with Tyre Philistines plot 8 With them is Assur also join'd they help'd the sons of Lot 9 Do unto them as unto the Midianites as to Sisera as to Iabin at the brook of Kison 10 Which perished at Endor they became as dung for the earth 9 Do to them as to Midlanites Jabin at brook Kison 10 And Sis'ra which at Endor fell as dung they earth were on 11 Make their nobles like Oreb and like Zeeb yea all their princes as Zebah and as Zalmunna 11 Like Oreb and like Zeeb make their nobles for to fall Yea as Zebah and Zalmunna make thou their Princes all 12 Who said Let us take to our selves the houses of God in possession 13 O my God make them like a wheel 〈◊〉 the stubble before the winde 12 Who said let in possession us to us Gods houses take 13 My God them like a wheele as straw before the winde them make 14 As the fire burneth a wood and as the flamme setteth the mountains on firâ—… 15 So persecute them with thy tempest and make them afraid with thy storm 14 As fire burns wood and as a flame on fire doth mountains set 15 Them with thy tempest persecute thy storm affright them let 16 Fill their faces with shame that they may seek thy Name O Lord. 17 Let them be confounded and troubled for ever yea let them be put to shame and perish 16 O Lord with shame their faces fill that they may seek thy Name 17 Confound and trouble them for ay them perish cause with shame 18 That men may know that thou whose Name alone is IEHOVAH art the most High over all the earth 18 That men may know that thou whose Name JEHOVAH is alone Art the most high ev'n over all that are the earth upon PSAL. LXXXIV HOw amiable are thy tabernacles O Lord of hosts O How the tabernacles are that unto thee belong Most amiable O thou that the Lord of Hosts art strong 2 My soul longeth yea even fainteth for the courts of the Lord my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God 2 My soul doth long yea ev'n doth faint at the Lords courts to be My flesh and heart it crieth out the living God to see 3 Yea the sparrow hath found an house and the swallow a nest for her self where she may lay her young even thine altars O Lord of hosts my king and my God 3 The sparrow house the swallow nest found where her young to
