agistors_n and_o such_o like_a and_o before_o that_o such_o officer_n be_v appoint_v forest_n what_o officer_n do_v belong_v to_o a_o forest_n it_o be_v not_o a_o profitable_a forest_n for_o the_o king_n for_o these_o officer_n must_v have_v the_o charge_n of_o the_o vert_fw-fr &_o of_o venison_n for_o the_o preservation_n of_o it_o of_o which_o two_o thing_n a_o forest_n do_v chief_o concisle_v and_o
seem_v that_o one_o principal_a cause_n of_o the_o make_n of_o this_o law_n be_v that_o for_o as_o much_o as_o k._n henry_n the_o second_o grand_a father_n to_o king_n edward_n the_o first_o have_v affore_v the_o land_n and_o wood_n of_o diverse_a person_n which_o be_v not_o the_o king_n own_o demean_v wood_n as_o it_o do_v appear_v by_o the_o first_o article_n of_o this_o statute_n and_o all_o those_o be_v there_o appoint_v to_o be_v dissafore_v again_o and_o so_o to_o be_v put_v clean_o out_o of_o the_o forest_n now_o this_o second_o branch_n or_o article_n be_v as_o it_o be_v a_o especial_a provision_n thief_o for_o they_o that_o then_o be_v dweller_n in_o those_o place_n which_o some_o time_n be_v within_o the_o forest_n and_o yet_o by_o this_o statute_n put_v out_o of_o the_o forest_n that_o they_o be_v out_o of_o the_o bound_n of_o the_o forest_n shall_v not_o be_v compel_v to_o come_v before_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o forest_n at_o their_o general_a session_n by_o this_o general_a summons_n as_o they_o be_v wont_a to_o do_v unless_o that_o they_o be_v pledge_n for_o same_o other_o person_n that_o be_v a_o offender_n or_o that_o they_o be_v there_o implead_v for_o any_o plea_n of_o the_o forest_n or_o that_o they_o be_v attach_v by_o any_o minister_n of_o the_o forest_n to_o appear_v before_o the_o justice_n for_o the_o same_o offence_n of_o aforesaid_a and_o in_o some_o case_n they_o shall_v appear_v by_o other_o process_n than_o by_o general_a or_o common_a summons_n and_o as_o concern_v the_o first_o division_n which_o be_v of_o those_o that_o do_v dwell_v out_o of_o the_o forest_n and_o yet_o they_o be_v compellable_n to_o come_v before_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o forest_n by_o this_o general_a or_o common_a summon_n notwithstandind_v the_o word_n of_o the_o statut_fw-la aforesaid_a it_o be_v to_o be_v understand_v that_o if_o any_o person_n which_o do_v dwell_v out_o of_o the_o forest_n have_v any_o liberty_n or_o franchise_n within_o the_o forest_n for_o the_o which_o he_o be_v to_o put_v in_o a_o claim_n before_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o forest_n then_o such_o a_o foreigner_n or_o dweller_n out_o of_o the_o forest_n must_v of_o necessity_n appear_v before_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o forest_n must_v of_o necessity_n appear_v before_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o forest_n by_o this_o general_a or_o general_a session_n by_o reason_n of_o this_o common_a summons_n aforesaid_a and_o in_o like_a manner_n all_o manner_n of_o person_n that_o be_v dwell_v within_o the_o forest_n be_v either_o lame_a sickly_a or_o else_o blind_a they_o be_v not_o to_o be_v force_v to_o appear_v before_o the_o lord_n chief_a justice_n in_o eyer_n of_o the_o forest_n by_o this_o common_a summon_n aforesaid_a 24._o regis_fw-la h._n avi_fw-la nostri_fw-la &_o non_fw-la aliter_fw-la in_o which_o word_n it_o be_v plain_o set_v down_o and_o declare_v unto_o we_o how_o and_o in_o what_o manner_n the_o regarder_n shall_v make_v their_o regard_n of_o the_o forest_n which_o be_v according_a to_o the_o assize_n and_o custom_n of_o the_o forest_n use_v in_o the_o time_n of_o king_n henry_n the_o second_o so_o that_o this_o branch_n of_o the_o say_a statute_n do_v not_o hereby_o ordain_v or_o appoint_v any_o new_a thing_n that_o be_v not_o before_o but_o this_o branch_n be_v make_v for_o a_o affirmation_n of_o the_o law_n and_o usage_n of_o the_o forest_n that_o be_v use_v in_o the_o time_n of_o king_n h._n 2._o now_o therefore_o it_o be_v necessary_a here_o in_o this_o place_n to_o show_v how_o and_o in_o what_o manner_n the_o law_n and_o usage_n of_o the_o forest_n be_v at_o that_o time_n use_v in_o make_v of_o the_o regard_n of_o the_o forest_n for_o the_o declaration_n whereof_o it_o be_v to_o be_v understand_v that_o the_o inquitie_n and_o presentment_n of_o all_o the_o article_n aforesaid_a which_o be_v to_o be_v inquire_v of_o by_o the_o regarder_n of_o the_o forest_n the_o same_o shall_v be_v inquire_v of_o as_o they_o be_v wont_a to_o be_v inquire_v of_o at_o the_o time_n of_o the_o coronation_n of_o king_n h_n 2._o and_o that_o be_v every_o three_o year_n as_o it_o do_v appear_v in_o the_o assize_n of_o king_n h._n 2._o and_o then_o the_o same_o regard_n be_v to_o be_v make_v but_o only_o within_o the_o bound_n of_o the_o forest_n 17._o assisa_n forestae_fw-la h._n 2._o c._n 10._o &_o 17._o for_o the_o say_a regarder_n ought_v not_o to_o inquire_v nor_o to_o present_v any_o thing_n that_o be_v make_v or_o do_v out_o of_o the_o bound_n of_o the_o forest_n nor_o yet_o out_o of_o the_o precinct_n of_o the_o regard_n within_o the_o forest_n as_o it_o do_v appear_v in_o the_o same_o assize_n of_o h._n 2._o cap._n 10._o and_o 17._o for_o it_o be_v there_o write_v that_o those_o that_o have_v wood_n out_o of_o the_o regard_n of_o the_o forest_n where_o the_o wild_a beast_n of_o the_o king_n have_v their_o haunt_n peace_n or_o rest_n or_o any_o other_o man_n that_o have_v land_n or_o wood_n within_o the_o forest_n and_o have_v also_o this_o privilege_n that_o those_o land_n and_o wood_n shall_v be_v out_o of_o the_o regard_n of_o the_o forest_n and_o that_o the_o same_o shall_v not_o be_v impech_v for_o any_o cause_n yet_o in_o that_o case_n he_o or_o they_o that_o have_v such_o a_o privilege_n aught_o to_o have_v a_o woodwarde_o there_o to_o keep_v his_o wood_n which_o woodwarde_o must_v also_o be_v swear_v to_o the_o assize_n of_o the_o forest_n that_o be_v 26._o assisa_n forestae_fw-la h._n 2_o vide_fw-la master_n hesket_n foe_fw-mi 26._o for_o the_o preservation_n of_o vert_fw-fr and_o venison_n as_o it_o do_v appear_v by_o the_o same_o assize_n of_o h._n 2._o and_o if_o the_o regarder_n do_v inquire_v or_o make_v any_o presentment_n of_o any_o thing_n that_o be_v do_v in_o any_o such_o place_n privilege_v as_o be_v aforesaid_a then_o that_o presentment_n may_v be_v avoid_v by_o the_o plea_n of_o the_o party_n by_o void_a without_o any_o plea_n if_o that_o it_o do_v appear_v unto_o the_o court_n by_o matter_n of_o record_n comprise_v within_o the_o same_o presentment_n that_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o which_o they_o have_v make_v their_o presentment_n be_v not_o any_o matter_n whereof_o they_o have_v charge_n give_v they_o to_o inquire_v of_o or_o to_o present_v and_o if_o the_o regard_n of_o the_o forest_n be_v make_v by_o the_o regarder_n that_o be_v elect_v by_o writ_n and_o yet_o they_o have_v not_o any_o writ_n to_o make_v their_o regard_n when_o they_o do_v make_v the_o same_o but_o they_o do_v make_v their_o regard_n of_o the_o forest_n of_o themselves_o voluntary_o void_a presentment_n per_fw-la le_fw-fr regard_n sans_o authority_n est_fw-fr void_a within_o the_o time_n of_o three_o year_n that_o be_v to_o say_v every_o year_n that_o regard_n and_o also_o the_o presentmente_n make_v by_o the_o same_o regard_n against_o any_o person_n be_v also_o void_a and_o the_o party_n
