there_o be_v a_o former_a breach_n between_o god_n and_o he_o and_o so_o there_o be_v need_n of_o a_o three_o party_n of_o a_o mediator_n to_o make_v they_o one_o hence_o be_v that_o in_o gal._n have_v the_o same_o sign_n and_o seal_n with_o the_o other_o make_v with_o abraham_n it_o be_v the_o same_o covenant_n also_o for_o if_o the_o covenant_n have_v be_v alter_v the_o seal_n shall_v have_v be_v alter_v also_o the_o seal_n of_o the_o one_o covenant_n not_o be_v suitable_a to_o the_o other_o it_o be_v now_o absurd_a to_o bring_v in_o the_o seal_n of_o the_o covenant_n of_o work_n seal_n and_o confirmation_n then_o sure_o it_o be_v not_o a_o covenant_n of_o work_n but_o of_o grace_n because_o the_o covenant_n make_v with_o abraham_n be_v a_o covenant_n of_o grace_n and_o not_o thing_n be_v touch_v here_o and_o there_o yet_o my_o chief_a aim_n have_v be_v to_o lead_v on_o the_o weak_a christian_n to_o a_o practical_a use_n of_o the_o truth_n which_o be_v here_o deliver_v in_o which_o the_o great_a part_n of_o this_o work_n be_v spend_v if_o in_o any_o of_o these_o thou_o find_v thyself_o help_v by_o this_o my_o labour_n either_o in_o thy_o knowledge_n or_o practice_n return_v glory_n to_o god_n and_o help_v i_o by_o thy_o prayer_n that_o i_o may_v so_o finish_v that_o little_a remnant_n of_o my_o course_n which_o be_v yet_o before_o i_o that_o i_o may_v rejoice_v for_o such_o as_o need_v not_o i_o write_v not_o to_o teach_v the_o judicious_a but_o to_o help_v the_o weak_a who_o stand_v in_o need_v not_o only_o to_o know_v the_o truth_n but_o to_o be_v lead_v on_o to_o see_v how_o the_o knowledge_n of_o it_o do_v serve_v to_o any_o use_n for_o practice_v of_o life_n one_o thing_n more_o i_o may_v not_o omit_v whereas_o it_o may_v be_v marvail_v that_o in_o the_o begin_n of_o the_o treatise_n i_o propound_v two_o point_n to_o be_v handle_v viz._n first_o to_o show_v the_o nature_n of_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n and_o second_o that_o we_o be_v save_v by_o that_o covenant_n and_o not_o by_o the_o covenant_n of_o work_n whereas_o i_o say_v both_o these_o be_v propound_v and_o yet_o i_o handle_v but_o one_o of_o they_o the_o reason_n of_o my_o so_o do_v be_v partly_o because_o i_o see_v the_o treatise_n to_o exceed_v in_o bulk_n what_o i_o expect_v in_o the_o beginning_n partly_o because_o the_o handle_n of_o the_o former_a alone_o do_v answer_v the_o end_n which_o in_o the_o beginning_n be_v aim_v at_o which_o be_v to_o open_v the_o nature_n and_o substance_n of_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n and_o partly_o also_o because_o this_o be_v my_o himself_o and_o himself_o unto_o they_o by_o the_o bond_n of_o a_o covenant_n and_o therefore_o when_o we_o break_v our_o covenant_n and_o that_o will_v not_o hold_v we_o he_o take_v a_o fast_a bond_n and_o make_v a_o sure_a and_o everlasting_a covenant_n according_a to_o grace_n not_o according_a to_o work_n and_o that_o shall_v hold_v his_o people_n firm_a unto_o himself_o and_o hold_v himself_o close_o and_o fast_o unto_o they_o that_o he_o may_v never_o depart_v from_o we_o oh_o the_o depth_n of_o god_n grace_n herein_o that_o when_o sinful_a man_n deserve_v never_o to_o have_v the_o
