as_o a_o leprosy_n as_o red_a as_o scarlet_a and_o as_o filthy_a as_o dung_n yet_o if_o god_n give_v repentance_n and_o we_o can_v believe_v here_o we_o have_v the_o promise_n of_o god_n mercy_n yea_o assurance_n of_o forgiveness_n let_v we_o return_v unto_o the_o lord_n and_o he_o will_v heal_v we_o he_o will_v bind_v we_o up_o oh_o then_o let_v none_o be_v discourage_v from_o seek_v unto_o he_o for_o mercy_n but_o let_v they_o seek_v it_o right_o and_o that_o by_o repentance_n and_o they_o shall_v obtain_v assure_o verse_n 2._o after_o two_o day_n he_o will_v revive_v we_o and_o the_o three_o day_n he_o will_v raise_v we_o up_o and_o we_o shall_v live_v in_o his_o sight_n in_o these_o three_o verse_n we_o first_o observe_v these_o three_o special_a point_n first_o a_o most_o godly_a and_o christian_n exhortation_n of_o the_o believe_a jew_n wherein_o they_o persuade_v each_o other_o mutual_o to_o return_v unto_o the_o lord_n second_o the_o reason_n that_o they_o use_v the_o better_a to_o move_v and_o induce_v one_o another_o to_o perform_v this_o duty_n of_o repentance_n the_o first_o draw_v from_o the_o justice_n of_o god_n in_o these_o word_n he_o have_v wound_v we_o he_o have_v spoil_v we_o the_o second_o draw_v from_o his_o mercy_n he_o will_v beale_v we_o he_o will_v bind_v we_o up_o and_o because_o this_o reason_n draw_v from_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n be_v a_o reason_n of_o all_o reason_n yea_o a_o most_o special_a reason_n to_o move_v any_o one_o to_o turn_v to_o god_n that_o have_v any_o spark_n of_o grace_n therefore_o the_o the_o holy_a ghost_n do_v amplify_v this_o reason_n by_o two_o other_o circumstance_n the_o first_o draw_v from_o the_o shortness_n of_o the_o time_n wherein_o the_o lord_n afflict_v his_o people_n it_o be_v but_o for_o a_o day_n or_o twain_o or_o at_o the_o most_o for_o three_o day_n a_o short_a time_n the_o lord_n will_v not_o always_o be_v angry_a with_o his_o child_n but_o howsoever_o he_o shall_v chastise_v they_o for_o a_o time_n it_o will_v be_v but_o for_o a_o time_n heaviness_n may_v endure_v for_o a_o night_n but_o joy_n come_v in_o the_o morning_n the_o second_o take_v from_o the_o greatness_n of_o his_o deliverance_n that_o though_o he_o have_v spoil_v we_o yet_o he_o will_v revive_v we_o and_o though_o he_o have_v grievous_o wound_v we_o yet_o he_o will_v bind_v up_o all_o the_o bleed_a wound_n of_o our_o soul_n if_o we_o will_v patient_o abide_v his_o leisure_n the_o three_o special_a point_n be_v the_o fruit_n of_o true_a repentance_n which_o be_v three_o the_o first_o be_v that_o if_o we_o have_v once_o be_v spoil_v of_o our_o own_o righteousness_n and_o wound_v true_o for_o our_o sin_n and_o be_v heal_v and_o wrap_v up_o by_o the_o merciful_a hand_n of_o god_n we_o shall_v then_o live_v as_o in_o his_o presence_n in_o all_o holiness_n and_o righteousness_n second_o he_o will_v power_n into_o our_o heart_n that_o knowledge_n which_o will_v bring_v we_o unto_o eternal_a life_n to_o know_v his_o will_n how_o he_o be_v affect_v towards_o we_o and_o this_o knowledge_n shall_v direct_v we_o to_o walk_v wise_o before_o his_o face_n so_o that_o we_o shall_v desire_v to_o grow_v in_o this_o knowledge_n and_o study_v daily_a to_o attain_v to_o a_o great_a measure_n of_o it_o we_o shall_v endeavour_n ourselves_o to_o know_v the_o lord_n and_o the_o three_o and_o last_o fruit_n of_o repentance_n be_v that_o if_o we_o will_v draw_v near_o to_o god_n by_o true_a repentance_n he_o will_v draw_v near_o to_o we_o to_o comfort_v we_o set_v out_o by_o two_o similitude_n the_o first_o of_o they_o be_v in_o these_o word_n the_o lord_n come_v be_v prepare_v as_o the_o morning_n for_o indeed_o many_o time_n it_o come_v to_o pass_v in_o the_o ver._n 3_o heart_n of_o god_n child_n that_o the_o sense_n and_o feel_n of_o god_n love_n and_o favour_n be_v oftentimes_o extinguish_v as_o the_o comfortable_a heat_n and_o light_n of_o the_o sun_n be_v take_v away_o by_o reason_n of_o some_o thick_a cloud_n that_o do_v pass_v betwixt_o the_o sun_n and_o the_o earth_n so_o many_o time_n we_o think_v that_o god_n forget_v we_o &_o hide_v himself_o from_o we_o but_o his_o come_n to_o help_v we_o be_v prepare_v and_o therefore_o most_o certain_a and_o he_o shall_v come_v as_o the_o morning_n and_o therefore_o most_o comfortable_a for_o as_o the_o bright_a beam_n and_o clear_a countenance_n of_o the_o sun_n after_o a_o windy_a &_o boisterous_a night_n be_v very_o comfortable_a even_o so_o when_o after_o a_o cloudy_a night_n of_o affliction_n wherein_o we_o have_v be_v wound_v and_o break_v in_o our_o soul_n for_o our_o sin_n the_o bright_a beam_n of_o god_n mercy_n break_v then_o forth_o shall_v be_v most_o comfortable_a to_o glad_a and_o rejoice_v the_o soul_n of_o a_o poor_a sinner_n this_o than_o be_v the_o first_o fruit_n that_o shall_v follow_v our_o true_a conversion_n unto_o god_n the_o lord_n go_v forth_o to_o comfort_v we_o and_o to_o deliver_v we_o be_v prepare_v the_o lord_n have_v purpose_v it_o and_o determine_v it_o of_o fold_n that_o those_o that_o repent_v and_o return_v unto_o he_o shall_v find_v comfort_n and_o refresh_n the_o second_o similitude_n which_o show_v the_o second_o fruit_n of_o repentance_n show_v that_o the_o lord_n come_v shall_v not_o only_o be_v comfortable_a but_o also_o most_o effectual_a and_o most_o welcome_a unto_o the_o soul_n of_o this_o same_o poor_a sinner_n that_o as_o help_v and_o deliverance_n in_o time_n of_o greatrst_a danger_n be_v most_o welcome_a so_o when_o the_o lord_n shall_v come_v with_o great_a and_o effectual_a comfort_n and_o bring_v help_n and_o deliverance_n in_o time_n of_o great_a affliction_n &_o danger_n oh_o than_o it_o will_v be_v most_o set_v by_o and_o esteem_v and_o to_o assure_v the_o poor_a child_n of_o god_n of_o this_o comfort_n in_o time_n of_o need_n the_o prophet_n say_v that_o the_o lord_n will_v come_v as_o the_o rain_n even_o as_o the_o latter_a rain_n unto_o the_o earth_n now_o as_o moderate_v rain_n be_v welcome_a as_o at_o all_o time_n so_o especial_o in_o the_o heat_n of_o summer_n after_o a_o great_a and_o a_o long_a drought_n when_o the_o earth_n be_v scorch_v with_o the_o heat_n of_o the_o sun_n and_o begin_v to_o capper_n and_o gape_v for_o want_v of_o moisture_n than_o a_o gracious_a and_o sweet_a shower_n be_v most_o welcome_a even_o so_o when_o a_o poor_a soul_n do_v pant_v and_o breath_n under_o the_o burden_n of_o his_o sin_n and_o be_v scorch_a with_o the_o burn_a heat_n of_o affliction_n then_o if_o the_o lord_n in_o mercy_n send_v a_o gracious_a rain_n a_o heavenly_a shower_n of_o his_o bless_a mercy_n in_o this_o heat_n of_o affliction_n this_o will_v be_v most_o welcome_a this_o will_v be_v most_o comfortable_a and_o this_o do_v the_o lord_n promise_n and_o assure_v his_o church_n and_o child_n if_o they_o will_v return_v unto_o he_o of_o the_o exhortation_n we_o have_v speak_v of_o before_o as_o also_o of_o their_o reason_n the_o first_o draw_v from_o his_o justice_n he_o have_v wound_v we_o he_o have_v spoil_v us._n and_o the_o second_o draw_v from_o his_o mercy_n he_o will_v heal_v we_o he_o will_v bind_v we_o up_o now_o because_o this_o reason_n or_o argument_n draw_v from_o the_o meccy_n of_o god_n be_v the_o chief_a of_o all_o other_o as_o paul_n teach_v when_o he_o say_v 12.1_o rom._n 12.1_o i_o beseech_v you_o brethren_n by_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n therefore_o the_o holy_a ghost_n here_o amplify_v this_o reason_n first_o by_o the_o shortness_n of_o time_n wherein_o the_o lord_n afflict_v his_o people_n it_o be_v but_o for_o a_o day_n or_o two_o a_o very_a short_a moment_n after_o two_o day_n or_o at_o the_o most_o in_o the_o three_o day_n he_o will_v and_o let_v we_o return_v again_o unto_o he_o from_o who_o we_o have_v depart_v by_o our_o sin_n and_o the_o lord_n will_v soon_o remove_v his_o judgement_n from_o us._n in_o this_o verse_n note_v three_o thing_n first_o the_o person_n from_o who_o all_o help_n comfort_n and_o deliverance_n do_v come_v he._n divide_v verse_n divide_v second_o the_o circumstance_n of_o time_n in_o the_o which_o the_o lord_n will_v deliver_v we_o after_o two_o day_n or_o at_o the_o most_o the_o three_o day_n three_o the_o deliverance_n itself_o with_o the_o several_a fruit_n of_o

quicken_v we_o else_o we_o can_v think_v a_o good_a thought_n and_o as_o the_o lord_n must_v begin_v grace_n in_o our_o heart_n so_o he_o must_v continue_v it_o and_o increase_v it_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v say_v here_o 20.6_o reu._n 20.6_o he_o shall_v raise_v we_o up_o and_o make_v we_o able_a to_o walk_v in_o the_o duty_n of_o piety_n and_o religion_n of_o faith_n and_o repentance_n and_o sincere_a obedience_n holy_a and_o bless_a be_v they_o that_o have_v part_n in_o the_o first_o resurrection_n for_o on_o they_o the_o second_o death_n have_v no_o power_n if_o then_o god_n have_v begin_v to_o revive_v thou_o &_o to_o raise_v thou_o out_o of_o the_o grave_n of_o sin_n oh_o than_o thou_o be_v bless_v and_o happy_a for_o thou_o may_v be_v sure_a that_o the_o second_o death_n that_o be_v eternal_a death_n shall_v have_v no_o power_n over_o thou_o but_o as_o for_o those_o which_o be_v yet_o in_o the_o state_n of_o nature_n unregenerate_a not_o reviue_v not_o quicken_v by_o the_o life_n of_o grace_n alas_o alas_o they_o be_v at_o the_o next_o door_n to_o eternal_a death_n and_o unless_o they_o seek_v unto_o the_o lord_n by_o true_a and_o unfeigned_a repentance_n that_o he_o may_v revive_v their_o dead_a soul_n and_o raise_v they_o up_o from_o the_o grave_n of_o sin_n they_o must_v needs_o perish_v eternal_o and_o therefore_o until_o such_o time_n as_o the_o lord_n shall_v revive_v we_o and_o that_o we_o shall_v feel_v the_o power_n of_o christ_n death_n within_o we_o die_v to_o sin_n whatsoever_o the_o vain_a and_o foolish_a persuasion_n of_o our_o heart_n may_v be_v yet_o we_o be_v in_o a_o most_o curse_a and_o wretched_a estate_n and_o condition_n and_o in_o the_o three_o day_n he_o will_v raise_v we_o up_o these_o word_n contain_v in_o they_o the_o second_o degree_n of_o their_o deliverance_n where_o we_o may_v see_v that_o there_o doct._n 5_o be_v degree_n of_o our_o spiritual_a life_n continue_v regeneration_n begin_v must_v be_v continue_v as_o we_o see_v a_o child_n first_o learn_v to_o stand_v alone_o then_o to_o go_v in_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o nurse_n and_o after_o come_v to_o more_o strength_n to_o walk_v alone_o so_o fare_v it_o with_o god_n child_n first_o the_o lord_n must_v revive_v and_o quicken_v we_o else_o we_o can_v think_v a_o good_a thought_n and_o as_o the_o lord_n must_v begin_v grace_n in_o our_o heart_n so_o he_o must_v continue_v it_o and_o increase_v it_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v say_v here_o he_o shall_v raise_v we_o up_o and_o make_v we_o to_o walk_v in_o the_o duty_n of_o piety_n and_o religion_n of_o faith_n repentance_n and_o true_a obedience_n so_o that_o the_o point_n of_o doctrine_n which_o we_o be_v to_o observe_v hence_o be_v this_o that_o the_o work_n of_o regeneration_n begin_v in_o we_o must_v be_v continue_v and_o daily_o more_o and_o more_o increase_v so_o as_o we_o may_v feel_v the_o power_n of_o the_o spirit_n daily_o subdue_a sin_n in_o we_o 7.1_o 2._o cor._n 7.1_o &_o our_o natural_a corruption_n and_o carnal_a affection_n that_o be_v so_o deep_o root_v in_o we_o by_o nature_n it_o be_v the_o exhortation_n of_o the_o bless_a apostle_n 6.1_o heb._n 6.1_o that_o we_o ignorant_a in_o the_o ground_n of_o religion_n as_o they_o be_v many_o year_n ago_o alas_o how_o can_v this_o hold_v good_a with_o this_o text_n of_o scripture_n that_o those_o that_o be_v once_o we_o any_o beginning_n or_o inclination_n to_o seek_v after_o grace_n resolve_v with_o david_n to_o run_v the_o way_n of_o god_n commandment_n 119._o psal_n 119._o not_o to_o go_v forward_o be_v to_o eternal_a life_n it_o be_v the_o way_n to_o eternal_a life_n it_o be_v the_o key_n to_o open_v the_o gate_n of_o heaven_n unto_o we_o and_o it_o be_v as_o it_o be_v the_o finger_n of_o god_n that_o put_v we_o into_o real_a possession_n of_o eternal_a life_n three_o we_o have_v to_o consider_v another_o special_a fruit_n or_o quality_n of_o this_o save_a knowledge_n that_o it_o will_v never_o
